"Don't forget to buy a dress for the ball. I'll announce your return from US so everyone will be watching you" my dad took one last sip of his coffee before grabbing his briefcase.

"Yes dad" he then left through the front door, leaving me and the housekeepers alone in the kitchen.

Yes, my father is a rich and powerful man. I was a good student, a good citizen and never got into trouble. I had a lot of friends and i was happy with my life right now.

But I was longing for something.

I just couldn't make out what.

"Miss Maddie, are you okay?" the housekeeper pulled me out of my thoughts.

Immediately I stood up.

"Yes, thanks for your concern. Please tell the driver that I'll be needing him in an hour" The housekeeper nodded and bowed quickly while I left the kitchen.

Making the way to my room I pulled out my phone. It was around 8 in the morning.

After I finished my shower and make up routine I put on a simple dress. Grabbing my purse I made my way downstairs.

"Is the driver ready?" the housekeeper nodded while she straightened my dress a little.

"Yes miss Maddie".

The car ride to my favorite dress store was rather quiet. Except the little small talk with the driver, I spent the time texting some friends on the phone.

I felt the warm air hitting my skin as soon as I stepped out of the car.

Immediately I was greeted by the shop owner.

"Maddie it's good to see you again" she opened the door to the store for me and I quickly walked in.

"Oh thank you, likewise"

Looking at some dresses I didn't really found anything that sparked my interest.

"Maddie you're looking for a dress for the ball right?" the shop owner looked up from reading her magazine with a raised brow.

"Yes. I was thinking about a red dress, something eye catching since my father will announce my return" not a lot people knew that I was back. Since I was important for the company's future people needed to know.

"I have exactly what you need"

When she show me the dress, i was so happy and so excited to show everyone my perfect, stunning and beautiful dress.

It was the same evening that best friend and I decided to go out for dinner. Even though both of our parents are rich, we love eating cheap chicken place and go whenever we can.

"I can't believe you're still not seeing anyone! Who will take you to the ball now? You can't go alone!" Luna looked at me with big eyes.

Yes, a 21 year old girl that only dated one guy for a while in her entire life was rather rare I guess.

"Xavier" as i speek with my annoying tone, her eyes grew even bigger and she dropped her chicken.

"That hot guy?!! that works for your dad?" I quickly nodded and took another bite of my chicken.

"Wow, your dad has been trying to set you two up for a while now. How are you still not dating him? He's so handsome and sweet" Luna shook her head, starting to eat again.

2:58 am.

I laid on my bed with my laptop in front of me. I was still wearing my dress. I just wasn't tired at all. My mind was wandering off to different places the whole evening.

It was still hot in Seoul and blame it on my period that was about to start or not, I was craving ice cream.

Picking up my light jacket that matched my dress I grabbed my purse once again and walked into the garage to get my mint colored bike and started riding it down the streets right into the city of Seoul.

It was a shadow in the corner of my eye that caught my attention and made me turn my head. Nothing.

I stopped in front of my favorite convenience store and made my way in. Usually I went there during the day, not in the middle of the night. But tonight i don't know why I'm craving to eat ice cream. Funny right.

I quickly paid for my favorite ice cream and stepped into the summer breeze while opening the lid. I took my first spoonful and felt joy overcoming me.

"Sooo good" I mumbled to myself.

One of the two tables outside of the store was already occupied by a guy on his phone, so I made my way to the other table.

"What the **** do you mean?!! I don't care just pick up Leo first I'll be waiting" the light brown hair guy sitting at the table talking into his phone before ending the call.

Looking at him, the first thing I noticed was how aggressive he looks. Aggressive, but still handsome. Turning his head around I noticed his eyebrow slit. We held eye contact for what felt like an eternity even though it was just a millisecond before I stumbled over my own feet and landed on the cold floor. I could feel my butt landed on the hard floor.

The guy started laughing, before getting up and rushing to my side.

"Are you okay?" he asked, still laughing before grabbing my hand to pull me back on my feet.

"No!" I said rather loudly and looked to the ground just to see the ice cream on the floor.

"Did you hurt?" he stopped laughing and looked at me in concern.

"My ice cream" I pouted. Looking at the poor ice cream.

He looked at me confused before he looked onto the ground and saw my ice cream.

"Don't worry I'll get you a new one"

How was that......Sorry for the short story. Do you love it and I'm really sorry if there's lots of character in this story...... I just want to share my favorite character name..... So blame me😂 If there's some mistakes, don't forget to comment below because there some typo on the name.

"**** it's still hot" the light brown headed guy cussed after taking a sip of his coffee.

"I sure that you swear a lot" I took a spoonful of my new ice cream.

"Whatever, princess" the mocking tone was evident in his voice.

We remained silent for a while. It wasn't an awkward type of silence.

"Is that your bike?" he suddenly speak out, maybe he just wants to avoid the quiet atmosphere. He asked pointing towards to where i parked my blue mint bike.

I nodded, while he started laughing again.

"Doesn't a girl like you usually have a nice car and a personal driver?" he snickered while raising his eyebrow.

"What's wrong with my bike?" the light brown headed guy just shrugged his shoulders.

"Do you come here often?" he finally took a sip of his now cooled down coffee and turned to look at me.

I was about to answer when his phone gave a sound. A text. Probably his girlfriend.

He checked his phone and eyed me with an raised eyebrow after.

"You should go home. It's late and definitely not safe you wouldn't want to encounter someone bad" his face turned into a serious expression, before getting up.

Out of reflex I stood up to.

"I'll get going" he was about to turn around when I grabbed his hand.

"Thank you. For the ice cream" I said still holding his hand, voice slightly shaking.

He gave a half smile before turning around and walked to a parked car I hadn't noticed before. He got into the passenger seat and the car disappeared into the night.

What I didn't know is that somebody else was watching from a safe distance.

I couldn't stop thinking about him. Even when I woke up late in the afternoon that day he was still fresh in my mind.

It was the middle of the night yet again and I decided to go back. Maybe he would be there again. Even though we didn't talk much I immediately knew that I like him. I felt like for once, I could make a friend besides Luna. The feeling between us was right.

And that is exactly what my mom always told me: to listen to my feelings.

I took the same seat as yesterday and checked my phone.

2:30 am

I was a little early this time. I was tired. But I needed to meet him again.

I waited for what seemed like forever, before falling asleep in front of my melted ice cream.

"Hey, wake up princess" I felt someone shaking me and lifted my head slowly.

Looking up I was greeted with the eyes of the same guy from yesterday.

"Is this a dream?"

"No princess. Trust me if this was a dream about me we would be doing something else" the light brown headed guy looked down at me with a smug look before handing me a new ice cream.

"Are you still a student?" he asked eyeing me while sipping his coffee again.

"I just graduated and got back from the US. I will start work soon, what about you?" I took another spoonful of my ice cream and saw him struggling with his coffee a bit.

"I have a business. Nothing special. Let's talk about you" he raised his eyebrow again. It was probably a habit of his.

"I'm Maddie and my life is boring. Nothing special" I shrugged my shoulders again before eating some more of my ice cream.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" at my rather blunt question he immediately put down his coffee and looked at me with an unreadable expression.

"No and I don't want one" to say that this hurt me a little bit is an understatement.

Just like yesterday he got up and got ready to head to wherever. I was still shook from the way he rejected me, sitting on my chair with the ice cream in my hand.

He was almost around the corner when I got up.

"Wait! What's your name?" I shouted after him.

He turned his body around but kept walking backwards.

"Trust me, you don't want to know my name!"

"Trust me this is not going to end good, you need to focus no time for distractions like her" James and Samuel looked at their boss, just a little worried.

"She looks so innocent" was all Luca replied to his two closest friends.

"Luca, Samuel is right you really need to focus on the mission though" James took a step towards his boss and best friend before planting his hand on his shoulder.

"I know" Luca sighed heavily before opening the file again, reading everything for the upcoming mission.

"This is so scary" Luna said holding the newspaper directly into my face.

'MAFIA STRIKES AGAIN - 14 DEAD'

I nodded taking a sip from my latte macchiato.

"Okay, you're really distracted today, what's wrong with you?" Luna put down the newspaper just to look me directly in the eye.

"I really don't want to talk about it. It's just tha- oh my god!" I almost dropped my latte macchiato when I saw the light brown haired guy walk in with his 2 friends.

"What?" Luna asked looking behind her.

"Oh, they are handsome I can see why you're staring.Is it the blonde guy you're staring at? Or the really tall one?" she eyed them up and down and didn't even stop when his friend with blonde hair saw her staring. He nudged his two friends, and now all three were looking at us.

"Hey, Hi! My friend thinks you are good looking and I think I have to agree with that" Luna almost yelled. My face turned completely red while the three boys were obviously laughing.

"Who do you think is handsome, Maddie?" coffee guy walked over to our table with a serious expression and stopped right next to Luna's chair, in front of me.

"I-I wasn't n-no" I started stuttering while Luna looked at me with a shocked expression.

"You two know each other?" Luna turned to look at him, while he just nodded.

"Yeah, since we bumped earlier than expected, let's hang out now instead of tonight, or both"

All I could do was nod, while getting up.

"t-tonight?" Luna asked confused.

"I'll call you later" I grabbed Luna wrist quickly and left the coffee shop.

~2.30 a.m.~

We spend the whole day talking and getting to know each other. Well he actually didn't talk about himself that much, but we did have fun.

We were sitting at our usual table, him with a coffee in his hand, while I had my ice cream.

"Will we meet again tomorrow?" he asked with a hopeful look.

"Sure, always" I saw how his lips curled into a slight smile. But exactly how fast they did curl into a smile the smile was gone again.

"Luca" he said after a moment of silence.

"L-Luca?"

"My name. It's Luca" he turned to look at me and grabbed my right hand with his free left one and intertwined our fingers.

"Oh" I smiled as blush rose to my cheeks. Luca chuckled.

As usual he was the one getting up first. I followed after.

"I'll see you tomorrow Maddie. Be safe" to my surprise Luca pulled me into a tight hug. His scent filling my nose.

I felt so safe and welcomed by his hug that I didn't want to pull away.

Luca pulled away after a few seconds and started to make his way down the opposite site of the road.

"Luca!" I called after him. He stopped and turned around walking just a little bit closer to me again.

"Yeah?"

"I enjoy spending time with you, I hope you know that" I said before turning around, making my way back home.

It was 3:56 am when I got to my house. I opened to door quietly and walked into the dark house.

"Where have you been?" I was startled by the voice of my father. He turned on the light and I saw him standing in the doorway of the kitchen together with Xavier.

"O-Oh I was at Luna's we fell asleep watching Dramas" the lie slipped out of my mouth way too easily, but they both seemed to buy it.

"Sit down Maddie, we need to talk"
