Though the grounds of heaven glistened like rain had fallen, the liquid that shone wasn’t clear but red. It tarnished the pure grounds of heaven itself; the men who died, pawns in the game of Gods, were for the most part dead and those who were not, would soon be too.Their masters took stock of the outcome, considering their armies in numbers only. How many had fallen? How many remained strong and able to send to the next fight? A cry of victory was heard, Kronos was dead. Zeus rose to the throne calling himself the King of Olympus. With the voice of their master reaching to their ears the army of angels let out a shout of victory, their hands raised up high the fallen spirits in their hearts rose once again and they leapt forward abolishing their opponents out of the map of Heaven. The grounds of the world were divided among the three brothers; with Zeus taking over the Heaven and Olyumpus, Poseidon taking over the waters of sea and ocean and Hades being sent to the underworld.Upon this victorious day the jealousy and rage against his youngest sibling took control of the mighty god Hades, he was the oldest yet the youngest was the strongest. Southing out a plan to take control of all three divisioneries Hades wish to overthrow the rule of Zeus.Far away from the heroic lands of Olyumpus lied the lands of East where the Jade Emperor ruled the skies of Heaven and the ancient creatures which were known to be dark and vicious by the westerns were protecting the people of the East, they were not only holy, loyal yet also generous and kind. Loong (Dragons) having many animal-like forms like those of fish or turtles but mostly seen as the snake-like creatures with four legs. They protected the lands of the East from vicious man-eating creatures, some guarded the doors of Heaven and the Jade Emperor.
People rushing away, scattered like moths, their faces red; burning like acid- sweat rolling down their bodies, drowning them whole- BOOM!! Another hit,the devil Aoyin striked again, it’s ox shaped body covered with poker straight, straw like fur destroying everything which had blocked its way. Its mouth carefully grabbed the flesh of the human it ate, savouring it and enjoying the delicacy of the sweet blood which wept down its mouth, its crimson red eyes reminiscent of that of the blazing fire hungry for more. Its horns carefully rolled up , both sharp and strong. It’s irises carefully analyzing the situation; searching for its next prey.It found its prey. A young child shivered in the presence of the mighty, gruesome creature which made its way towards the newborn, tears came as if, at long last, his accumulated ocean of brine was trickling through. The beast was in front of the child. Its nasty breath tickling the sensitive skin of the baby, reminding him of the danger with he was to encounter. Death standing right behind ready to collect the soul of the kid. The beast leapt forward, opening its mouth the child then cried louder than it ever had before, screeching it’s little hands to the men running away, maybe signing them to help him? Maybe displaying his helplessness?
Baby: “Aaaa….”
The beast dug its teeth into the soft flesh with the blood flowing out the kid let out a cry painted with nothing but pain, it’s body trembled under the cold jaws of the beast within this very moment a strong magnetic force pushed the beast back; healing the wounds of the child the mighty dragon appeared for its people. Qiulong (Horned Dragon) the strongest of all nine noble dragons, a teenage looking dragon with horns emerging from it’s forehead.
Qiulong: “Aoyin! Thou were told not to disturb the peace of this land, do thou seek death?!” the dragon spoke, allowing the acid leak in it’s tone.
Aoyin: “Qiulong…” It hissed “If thy do not eat flesh what shall I eat! Quilong! Thou are a mighty dragon, and you understand the necessity of my kind! We need flesh!”
Quilong: “Aoyin, you know this very well that the human flesh is forbidden at all costs; your kind was instructed to feed on animal flesh!”
Aoyin: “Quilong! I’m a beast created solely for consuming the flesh of those humans and I shall continue to do so!”
Quilong : “Thou! Shall not!” shouted the Horned creature stomping its feet to the ground with the magnetic force sending the Ox creature flying back
It curled like a prawn on the ground, shaking ever so slightly from the impact with a great amount of force placed on it’s shaking legs it raised it’s chin locking its gaze into the Dragons which shot him an icy cold glare “Quilong! You shall regret what you did today!” hissed the best under its breath while running away into the dark woods.
The dark woods which stand as noble black knights, fresh from the fields of legend, releasing the sounds of a plethora of nocturnal ghosts, of they who may move safely with in the hug of the grey shadowed night.Darkness which comes as armstrong protective arms holding the spirits close until the promised dawn.In the depth of the woods roamed the another creature, recognized by Aoyin . Qiongqi, a large falcon-like creature with magnificent dark red wings pooping out from it’s back, it's body resembling a tigers with blak stripes embroidering it’s entire body. Both of them were defeated by the dragons; locating his fellow mate he made his way towards them allowing himself to clash with the ground beneath as he took rest under the shady tree.
Qiongqi: “Aoyin, you’ve returned...:``The creature spoke, it’s voice stern, almost cold. “I heard quite some cries and it seemed like you had quite a feast.”
Aoyin: ‘I would if I had not been interrupted by that snake Quilong ordering us to consume animals! What are we?! Vegetarians?!! Tch...what about you?”
“Underworld stopped me..”
“That leach…”
“Now, now gentlemen…’ A deep, cracked voice reached the ears of those beastly spirits, dark murderous aura devouring the surrounding. The smell similar to lazing fire lingering in the air. Hades. “Why not I provide some assistance?”
Aoyin: “Hades…” He hissed, making no effort to hide his displeasure upon the God’s appearance.
Qiongqi: “God of the underworld, what do you seek in the land of the east? And why shalt thou assist us yet ask nothing in return?”
Hades: “Brothers, I do not wish for you to be indebted to me, for I act according to my will. Do you not want to demolish the Loongs? Or was that my mistake?”
Aoyin moved to catch his partner’s eye, bobbing his head slightly he responded to him with a nod then shifted towards Hades “Very well...we accept your help.Hades.”
A devilish grin spread across the face of the mighty god, his eyes set ablaze with him being one step closer….
Chaos once again hit the land of the east, with people fallen dead on the ground, soil converted into the shades of brownish-red tainted with blood which flowed down the rocks and pebbles resembling the river Yangtze. Once again the plea of the humans reached the ears of the Dragons, with the two of them coming forth to end this madness. Quilong and Fuzanglong witnessed the scene they had never seen before. With the determination of stopping the two beasts the holy creatures strike forth with all their power yet no damage was done; stricken by this new discovery the creatures didn't give up. Yet they awaited the help of the Jade Emperor or their allies, that light of hope which was making them hold on. Attack after attack, the blood went running down the scales of the beast with their horns broken and their body worn out. They witnessed the scene of the people of the East being eaten while they could do nothing. Glistening liquid left their eyes while they let out a last cry, a plea of help in the form of a roar. Gazing up to the sky above they hoped for someone to come but no one did. They roared once again , begging the Jade Emperor to assist. Yet the call was unanswered and the deaths didn't stop.
The anger which captivated them whole for they could not stand the destruction which was brought upon the humans. It was then when a soft whisper came, it spoke with it's cracking voice "Hey…they are dying… " It moved to the other dragon "They need your help…no one is coming… " The whisper was low, almost hypnotizing, though it's voice rough and cold it was somehow soothing to the dragons. "I'll help you…come on…embrace me. Let us put an end to this destruction…" The dragons nodded in response to a dark aura surrounding the scenery giving them strength as they tore the beasts apart. The humans cheered in joy celebrating the victory of the dragons. But little did they know that it was the dragons who lost…
Current Day
"Dalinda…sweetie… My daughter… " Came the voice. I looked up to the man who said my name. "You remember what you've learned right? " This time it was shaky "Make sure to show no mercy okay? Kill them all. That's the only way to survive. " And this time it was anxious.
I did nothing but bobbed my head nodding in response; my thoughts wandering off imagining this so-called place "Camp X"
"Good, go make your father proud. ' I flinched at the word which brought me back to reality. There was no warmth in his voice not that I expected it anyway. The word "father" disgusted me.
The night was unsually calm, the moon did not dare to shine while soft whispers of the cool wind eneveloper me. I entered camp x; the fresh early smell making its way to my nostrils. Huh? Did it rain? I wondered, my eyes wandering to my surroundings.
"Looks like I'm not alone…" I mumbled to myself after seeing the school of people gathered around. Feeling the stares digging holes into my back, I yawned. I miss my bed.
"Alright low borns, gather around!" The voice was loud and clear with no sense of emotion. It would not be an understatement to consider it frozen or rather robotic. "The rules are simple. Kill and survive. Each one of you will be given a weapon and you will be left here for three days! The last one remaining will be selected. After the duration time you will be picked and taken to HQ. Happy killings. "
My deadened eyes analyzed the man who had caught the attention of the crowd. He was tall, about 6 feet 2? Damn I'm jealous. His dark irises reminding one of the depths of the ocean, the Burnett hair which flowed down to cover his forehead made his appearance rather intimidating. We were given a knife and a case. I took the knife out and analyzed the black blade it had. The words "Jungle King" Written on it in white. The blade was unusual and I could feel someone stare at me. I lifted my head to meet the gaze; the man stared at me and light almost sparked his eyes. Hmm? I wonder what is it? Curiosity? Well I'll give him entertainment but before that I want to sleep.
The man soon left and the others fled into the mountains. I let my instincts guide me as I made my way to the bumpy grounds. The blade which was given was surely made of poison and the trees were full of mouth watering fruit. After finding a perfect spot covered by bushes I slept the night in peace letting my dreams carry me to a new wonder land. It seemed like an exodus.
I woke up in the morning with a bear growling in my stomach, I made my way to the river crouching to the ground beneath. Using the knife I catch two fishes. "Now breakfast is ready.. " I sat up, stretching a bit while a sudden rustle of leave made me alert.
"Hah. Look what we have here" The boy said with a mocking tone. "What's a small girl girl like you doing here? " The boy looked at me while a smirk stretched across his face.
Making no attention to what the boy had barked nor his companions who laughed along with him. I passed them with speed using my knife to kill them while doing so. The ground was soaked with the red liquid which glowed down their bodies and I shifted to the right looking up to the right of the old willow tree who stood there providing cool shade for one to rest underneath. "I'll give you all a good show to watch. " I mouthed certain about he fact that a camera was hidden there.
The man who watched their every move was given a surprise, with his face lighting up with a smile a laugh escaping from his lips "heh...interesting.. "
On the other side of the mountain screams were heard clearly and bodies cut in perfect proportions... "Dame Kasia, number 11 Dalinda Huang is moving forward. You might have to face her. Be careful. " The woman in white sheathed her swords, the wind pushing her hairs back as she made a swift turn towards Dalinda's location. "No worries, I'm good" She replied back, amusement and excitement painting her voice. "This is going to be fun! " She exclaimed. A body turned and crawled towards her.
"Y-you *****... " Said the girl while grabbing her feet
The woman looked down on the female who grabbed her feet "Paws off, I'm getting dirty. " She raised her sword and slayed the girl. "Tch... Great now I'm dirty. Disgusting. "
One after another bodies fell on the ground, painful screams begging for mercy and souls yearning to live on engulfed the entire area. No mercy. The words that my 'father' engraved into my mind kept repeating themselves. Again and again.
"Please don-", someone begged. I'm sorry. SLASH! The body was cut in half.
No mercy.
" You ******* bit-" The words were left uncompleted...pop...the head was separated from the body.
No mercy.
An eye popped out. No mercy. Humans slaughtered in what seemed like billions of little pieces. No mercy. Blood stained the soild beneath. No mercy...
Killing was never my choice.
I was forced into it, to kill meant to survive. Yes I have killed before. I have killed many. Ever since young I loathed the very thought of taking one's life away....and now? Now, for me, killing was nothing but an instinct. The thrill of dying...the adrenaline which one's feels before a battle made me remember. No. It made me experience the emotion that i had long forgotten about-happiness. Yes, that emotion.
Kida during my age would laugh, cuddle their parents and play to their heart's content yet in my fate none of these things were written. There was a time where I too was happy but those moments were snatched away the moment my 'father' came into my life.
I have long forgotten what it feels to be happy, what is joy? That feeling which would bubble up inside of me; make me burst with energy and cause my deadened eyes to light up. No matter how much I fight, how many I kill, I'm unable to feel it...
In a black that has a strength of midnight blue whispering to its heart, balletic stars take to their stage; lighting the sky like snow-flakes in the night, yet appear still, like an old photograph. They filled the sky like pale corn into freshly turned ground. It was a promise of life in darkness, a sense of warmth springing from the cold. With the cool night breeze dancing along the surface of the Earth followed by the clapping of leaves and chattering of flowers which welcomed this beautiful night.
The first day came to an end and the second night of survival began. Finding a cave suitable for the stay, I rested my head on the cold stony surface and allowed slumber to take me into a world of its own.
The soothing earthy-smell now carpeted by a salty bloody one, the crisp of the fire lingering
in the air dancing right into my nostrils.The blood painted the ground with nothing but red;
with the bodies of dead adorned into the soil beneath. The light tremble of my arms from the
familiar feeling; with my stomach turning upside down yet a sudden rush of excitement whichmade me want to kill- The blood rushing within my veins erging me to do so. What have I
become? The trace of humanity left within me dripping out leaving nothing but a dark empty
shell. The questions which keep making their way into my head while I continue this dance
of slaughter; "What should I do? " "What have I done? '' . My memory was nothing but damp
and misty, with titbits of fragments left. Reminding me of my sins, the black guilt which
devours me whole. What is this? Where am I? I also remember that soft soothing sound
coming from behind me which would comfort me often, it's voice was unforgettable and clear
in my head. It was more like an order though but this young self of mine urging for even a bit
of love took it happily.
“Pssst...you there…” It came again. “ Come on, let's play.” it continued, but I ignored it.
“Fufu...looks like our Dalinda has grown up...should I let you see something spectacular?” the
soft whisper spoke, poison now leaking from its voice, I tend to ignore it again but the sight it
displayed was horrifying.
“What do you think Linda? Hehe. Like what you see?” Tears in my soul became tears in my
eyes while I witnessed the horrifying memory once again, the death of my mother. The cold
body which was set before me, pale blood trickling down from her now blue-lips. Eyes gaping
like a fish while her bony hand reached out to me once gain “Linda...Dalinda.....help…” were my mother's
last words.
“STOP IT!!!” I screamed
“But Linda… you’re the one who caused it….” It responded. The voice I mean, in its oh so
innocent way as if it were an angel sent down by the heavens and was free from any sins.
“I SAID STOP! NO! IT WASN’T MY FAULT!!!”
“It was your fault Dalinda. It was all your fault…”
“NO!”
The nightmare was gone and I. I woke up.
