Studies have shown it only affects children but it is extremely painful and 8 out of 10 children die from it, the government decided that all children were to be transferred into a controlled facility to supposedly ' protect the people' but their hidden agenda, to use the surviving variants as weapons because the survivors mutation allowed them to manipulate things around them. our main character, pushed to the limit escaped the facility and now bears the consequences

" My name is Exedra winters or EXW07 as I am now called at the facility, I am an 18 year OK UGM variant, one of the only ones to survive in full condition. I was brought into the facility at the age of 7, taken from my mother who told me it was for my own good, .... She was DEAD WRONG------ Since the day we where here, we have been treated harshly that the weakest of us had to toughen up to survive, When I turned 8 my transformation had fully begun as the immense pain and head ache had tripled, it took a year and a few months a year and few months to complete it during which the guards didn't bother entering the room, we were kept in a more secured cell than we are now, one that the steel door locked us in with only a small hatch at the bottom for food and water to be slid through it was living hell, half the time we where to much in pain to eat, and the guards did nothing about it. When we came out more than half our population were dead flesh being dragged away, a good number of us came out with barely any memory, and I was one of the few that came out complete the reconstruction of DNA wasn't something to laugh about ( To think it all started because of a space rock) after it crashed it broke into pieces and spread a weird gas all over Tokyo and a few of it's neighbors, and the cure was never found------- When I came to the facility I was glad to know I wasn't alone , as my childhood friend Dorio was here as well later we met a girl named miyuka , since then we were the best of friends. Coming out from that smelly room after my transformation was complete, I was glad to know we all survived complete but we looked different, because of the new DNA weirdly and shockingly we had horns, no tail animal like eyes and the ability to feel pain had reduced drastically. we were taken to labs and tested on, given serious combat training although I couldn't control my new abilities which earned me popularity in a bad way, now it makes me a target for mockery "

" EXW07 why are you still in your cell!?"

" Sorry sir"

" Useless thing, move to the combat hall!!"

Exedra was referring to those who completed transformation in full condition who were 15 in number. it may sound like much but compared to the 5.7 million children that were brought in... it's scary

miyuka was stopped in her tracks when she saw exedra had already picked Dorio and they were having fun, she had a hurt look on her face that slowly turned into anger and jealousy

" Miyuka let's pair " Lisa came over and said with a large smile plastered on her face

" sure..." miyuka said without a smile on her face

" Today's center fighters, EXW07 and DOD09"

" EXW07, you mean that wimp that can't control her new abilities? "

" HA! We'll beat that puny lizard easy"

some people were shouting and mocking from the back. Instantly Exedra's face grew red with rage and anger and her mismatched red and gold eyes didn't hide it, her gold eye began to glow and those who were mocking her went pale as their eyes went white and they were under her control... of all the many new abilities, mind control was the one power she could control, but few people at a time, this time isn't few people

" you are a worthless fool" she commanded

" I am a worthless fool " they all responded

those who didn't mock her looked around in awe as in one else had mastered this ability apart from her and Dorio that is after Dorio taught her anyway

" kneel and apologize "Exedra' s voice became cold as ice and in response they all kneeled at. her command

" I am sorry master "

after hearing this a cold grin spread across her face as she broke the control and they began wondering why they were on the floor

Dorio just smiled at her

" you've grown shortie"

" shut up and fight... Let the games begin... "

Clang! Exedra's sword hit the giant axe of another person, Dorio backed her up as someone's hammer was about to hit her knocking the person out of balance. About 30 minutes had passed and the fight was still going on, the guards watched their fights as entertainment and didn't even care that some were. breaking bones, this is probably because of the fact that UGM variants regenerate and heal quickly, while normal humans take about 3 months to heal broken bones, variants take 3 hours more or less depending on how bad it is, making them quite hard to kill. After about. an hour more the fight was over, Exedra and Dorio won against everyone else at the last minute. Out of the shadows then came a strange figure of a person and on seeing this person all the guards stood up and saluted, the figure spoke: " Bring me those two "

' Who two? Me and Dorio? ' Exedra began thinking

" Bring them to the lab" the voice spoke again

" L- lab?" Exedra's eyes widened

' They want to take more samples' she thought she took a short glance at miuka and noticed a seductive smile, the figure replied with a grin and left

' What was that?' she thought ' Miuka...?'

" Exedra you were amazing! " miuka jumped at her with a fake smile, Exedra had noticed she had been pulling this fake smile since Dorio's warning about her became stronger

Exedra dodged miuka's hug with swift movement, then she began to glare at her as her suspicion rose. Miuka was shocked that the hug was dodged

" Come on Exedra you won't even hug me now?"

" Miuka stop playing games with me what are you hiding? "

" oh- " the shocked expression on miuka's face was enough to tell exedra that something is up

" Emm... nothing, I'm not hiding anything, it's just that... well...you've been hanging out with Dorio so much I fear you are forgetting me " Exedra wasn't moved by her little lie but she just played along

" oh miuka, I could never forget you, you are both my best friends " Miuka was convinced she had fooled Exedra but Dorio m, having known her for years could sense the sarcasm in her voice

" sure sure let's go " Dorio was glaring at Miuka as he spoke

" Exedra you must be thirsty from all the fight, here, have some water"

" Sure thanks "

Miuka made a small grin ' Foolish girl, you think I will third wheel you all my life? wait and see' she thought as she walked with them to the lab

" EXW07 go to the kab down the hall, that gaurd will show you the way"

' Isn't that the lab they usually say no one's shadow should be caught lurking there?' she thought

" Okay" she finally responded

" What about me? "

" DOD09 you are in the opposite lab, this guard will show you the way"

' The second forbidden lab???' Dorio thought

" Umm okay "

" Move it and stop staring "

" Oh umm yes sorry"

The two friends parted ways, and walked into the dark halls that faced them

' I'm tired of this place, I need to get out of here, but I'm not leaving Dorio, I need to let him know' Exedra's thoughts wondered away from the current scenery, her gold eye glowed, and Dorio who was already on his way to the other Lab's eye glowed as well, Dorio was just like Exedra, he had mismatched eyes but of red and silver and not gold, in the facility your eye color tells your level of transformation or power mismatched eyes being most powerful and mismatched red and silver or gold are the best of all. however there are only 7 mismatched eyed people at the facility, and Exedra and Dorio were the only gold and silver.

' Dorio I need your help' Exedra started, she was using telepathy so as not to get caught and since Dorio had the same power, they could easily communicate

' What was so important you had to use telepathy'

' Dorio we need to run, something feels off here and I'm tired of this facility nonsense'

' We agreed to run when you turned 18, you specifically asked

' I'll be 18 soon there is no difference'

' OK fine , but first see why they want us in this particular lab'

" Hey why are you walking so slow, move it!!" a guard commanded

Dorio entered the lab and it looked slightly different from the other ones he had been used to, there were different computers, and containers with weird bubbling liquids. ' Looks like some mad scientists lab' He thought.

" Come sit here DOD09 "

The one talking had an off look, like the "Mad scientist" in particular. Dorio sat down looking at the strange man with suspicion but when his eyes landed on a syringe that had a sky blue liquid inside it, he couldn't hold back anymore.

" What are you doing? "

" Oh nothing my boy, just sit back and relax, this won't hurt a bit"

" Get that thing away from me you deluded man"

" Now, now there's no need to be so rash "

Dorio began to try getting off the chair, but he was hand cuffed so to say, to the chair

" Don't bother kid, it's made of titanium steel and the more you try to get out the more it tightens eventually it will crush your bones till it cuts through your hand so I suggest you behave"

" I can regenerate my hand"

" You wanna be handless for three hours? "

" No"

" Then you'd better cooperate "

He brought the syringe close...
