****.' Megumi swore loudly as he woke abruptly from his deep slumber and glanced at the alarm clock beside his bed. It was nearly seven-thirty, which meant he was gonna be late for school. Great.
Megumi was never late to school.
He jumped unceremoniously out of bed and swore colorfully once more as one of the bones in his hip gave a nasty backward jerk, almost feeling a painful sprain beginning to form, one that would haunt him throughout the day. Ignoring the stinging pain, and groaning inaudibly as every step made him flinch, he dragged himself to the bathroom. He brushed, threw on his school uniform and ran a hand through his curly hair. No time to take a shower: he'd take one in the afternoon.
His father was fast asleep in the living room, dead to the rest of the world. He was still passed out after he came home completely drunk and hammered last night, and Megumi just let him be as he grabbed his school bag (one that he had packed the night before, as always) and left the house. It was a ten-minute walk to school, and he had to be there by eight positively, and it was already seven-forty- five. He decided to take a taxi, even though it meant squandering the little bit of what was a poor excuse for pocket money he had left. Today was the first day of school, after all. He couldn't afford to be late. Plus, he was in no position to walk all the way to school with his recently dislocated (and still aching horribly, by the way) hip.
Once safely settled inside the taxi and roaring past the already up and busy streets of Tokyo, he threw his bag of books into one corner and whipped out his cellphone: there were about a dozen missed calls from Nobara and more than a hundred or so messages from Yuuji. He sighed and checked the messages first, knowing Yuuji would barely give it a second or two's wait before new messages.
Yuuji: of
Yanji: brooooooo
Yuuji: tf are u?
Yuuji: me and nobs here been waiting since ages
Yuuji: even snagged the first seat for u, nerd
Yuuji: get yo *** here man
Yuuji: u better not be late on the first day of school
Yuujis i just realized i sound like u wtf
The next ones followed in a similar strain. Megumi texted him a quick my alarm rung late, sorry, reaching soon,' and shoved the phone inside his pocket. Then he lay back on his car seat, chewing on his lower lip and frowning hard. It was sheer bad luck for this to happen on the first day of school-high school, to be precise. Especially to someone like him. He was a topper, dammit. He wasn'tsupposed to screw up stuff like this on the first day, especially since he'd badgered Yuuji and Nobara the entire day before to reach school early and bag the first seat in class especially for him. Don't get him wrong, he wasn't the type of kid who enjoyed getting called on too much by the teacher. It wasn't his fault if they did call him out too much- he was a pretty decent student, after all. But this was his first year in high school, and he had sworn to do his best. Not that his dad would care, or anybody, for that matter- he simply wanted to do his best. He wanted his grades to be the highest and he wanted to be the top student, the one who won all the prizes and achieved top honours and was known throughout the school-just for the heck of it and just because it made him feel good and maybe just because-it made him feel like his life was worth something? Anything? That he wasn't completely worthless?
The taxi finally pulled up in front of the school and Megumi sprang out, hurriedly throwing the driver the money and hauling his bag out with himself. He looked at his watch and swore- it was eight-five, ****. Of all the few and far between times he could have been late to school, why today?
He ran quickly up the steps leading to the enormous building, his bag nearly sliding off one shoulder, and was barely past the gates when he bumped into someone large. He stopped only for a moment, apologizing hastily to the person he had bumped into, and then started making his way past them, but the next second felt a searing pain in his right shoulder as it was seized- and he was pulled back.
His initial exclamation of surprise and pain was quickly replaced by anger, as he looked to his side and saw the guy holding his shoulder in a gorilla grip- no wonder the person had seemed so large. Of course, who else in the school wasthat big and tall? He screamed internally, biting his lip in frustration. Today really was the worst. Of all the people in the world he could have bumped into, why, why, oh why did it have to be Ryoumen Sukuna?
Fushigoro Megumi,' Sukuna said in his deep voice, and Megumi jumped. Sukuna's voice sometimes scared the living crap out of him, it was so deep and dark and....big, just like the rest of him.
"Hello, Sukuna,' Megumi smiled brightly up at him, trying to suppress his annoyance. 'Could you let go of my shoulder, please?"
The hold on his shoulder only tightened and Megumi winced slightly from the pain. "Why should I?"
Cause it's getting late and you're hurting me, asshole! Megumi wanted to shout, but he only smiled and spoke to Sukuna in a sweet voice, as though he were a child. 'Because, Sukuna, we both have to get to class, don't we? It's already eight- five, and we're both five minutes late, and you wouldn't like to be late on the first day of school, would you?'
'Don't you use that voice with me,' Sukuna said irritably. 'I'm not a kid. Also, I don't give a damn about getting late to class, so there.'
Yeah, but I do! Once again, Megumi held back, putting a hand gingerly around Sukuna's large wrist that held his shoulder in a vice-like grip. "What do you want me to do, then?'
'I want you to apologize,' Megumi hated how unbearably smug Sukuna sounded as he said it, for bumping into me.'
Megumi stared wordlessly at the guy. What did he think he was in, some third- class Disney movie where he was playing the rich arrogant bully? Or one of those crappy Wattpad stories teenage girls read? He was clearly fucked-up in the head. He, Megumi, had already apologized to him once and it was crystal clear he had bumped into Sukuna by mistake and there was no way on earth he was apologizing to him again, but he was also getting late to class, and yet there was no way he was going to let this asshole bully him into apologizing to him twice. He never apologized for anything twice. Megumi could be really unreasonable at times, especially when it came to people like Ryoumen Sukuna.
I said I'm sorry before,' he said, quietly, looking up into Sukuna's now grinning face, and I meant it, but I was in a hurry and I still am, so could you please forgive me and let me go now so I can get to class?'
'Nope.'
Megumi only stood there for about two seconds contemplating his next action before he put it into motion-he gripped his bulging bag tightly with one hand, and stepping forward, swung it as hard as he could, right into Sukuna's ribs.
Wha-aaaaa0000000al ahhhhhh!' Sukuna's ringing scream of betrayal and agony pierced the air and Megumi would have liked to imagine it scared quite a few birds off the surrounding trees. He didn't hang around to confirm the hypothesis, though- even if he would very much have liked to do so- picking up his bag immediately and rushing off in the direction of the school building, towards his class. He did not stop to look back at the still-bent,hunched-over figure of Ryoumen Sukuna, screaming as though he were mortally
wounded, nor to see him glance over his shoulder and glare at Megumi's rapidly
retreating figure, shake a powerful fist in his direction, and swear,I’ll get you,
you feisty little tiger cub.'
Bonus pic
Well what do you guys think is it good?
Uh love it ?
Pls comment, so that I can know what is my mistakes
that I need to focus on….
Thanks for reading it till the end and love you all
You what!?' Yuuji screeched.
Just ******* keep your voice down!' Megumi hissed. Yuuji's voice dropped, but only slightly, as he continued to stare at Megumi with a scandalized expression on his face.
Turns out, Megumi had gotten hot and bothered about being late all for nothing- their homeroom teacher was very conveniently absent that day, which meant the first period was a study period- in which nobody in the entire class was studying, obviously.
Megumi had just finished telling Yuuji and Nobara the story of his little misadventure with Ryoumen Sukuna in front of the school that morning, and the look on Yuuji's face as he finished was almost comical.
"You bumped into Ryoumen Sukuna- the Ryoumen Sukuna, and you actually whacked him in the ribs with your hundred-pound bag?'
'My bag doesn't weigh a hundred pounds,' Megumi said, crossly. 'It barely weighs four or five pounds,'
'Of course it does,' Nobara chipped in. "You've got all sorts of useless stuff in there. Textbooks, notebooks, reference books-'
Yeah, because, come on, who really brings books to school?' Megumi said, sarcastically.
Nerds,' Nobara shot back, unfazed.
'Hey!' Megumi turned to look at her, protestingly. 'It's not my fault if I want to come prepared to school. And I am not a nerd.'
That's beside the point. And you are most certainly a nerd-'
'Shut up, both of you!' Yuuji shouted, and the two shut up and looked at him.
This colossal, suicidal dumbass here just legit whopped Ryoumen Sukuna in th ribs and ran off without bothering to even apologize, and this is what you guys find important!?'
'I don't get what the big deal with this Sukuna guy is,' Nobara twirled a bit of her coppery-orange hair between her fingers, flicking her tongue between her teeth. mean, he's never been in the same class as ours, but I've heard a bit about him. He's just another jock, isn't he?'
Yuuji stared at Nobara as though she were deranged. 'Just another jock? Nobara, you better be joking!'
'I don't get what the big deal is with him, either,' Megumi said. Yuuji whipped around to look at him.
Of course you don't, you dumbass!' He said, flercely. 'If you did, there's no way you would have gone and done that to him. Ryoumen Sukuna is the Ryoumen Sukuna!!'
That's what you've been saying for the past century, Yuuji,' Nobara rolled her eyes. 'Can't you just get along with it and expatiate?'
The **** does that mean now?' Yuuji said, frustrated.
You mean expatiate?' Megumi cocked an eyebrow. "That's an easy one, it means: to expound or explain something in intricate detail, such as to simplify a complexity'
'Shut up, Megumi,' said Yuuji.
'Shut up, Megumi,' said Nobara.
Megumi shut up.
'Okay, so basically,' Yuuji seated himself atop Megumi's desk as though he were about to deliver a lecture of utmost importance, 'Ryoumen Sukuna is, quite literally and figuratively, the essence of this school. He is all this school encompasses, all its creatures live for and die for. He is its flag bearer, its shine, its sparkle, the one who brings honour to its name. He is, in fact, the school.'
You mean we, as of now, are inside him?' Nobara asked, and both she and Megumi looked at each other for a split second before bursting into huge guffaws of laughter.
'And when it's break time,' Megumi pointed out, between bouts of laughter, 'it means we're eating inside him.'
'Or eating him, more likely,' Nobara said, and they went off into more fits of laughter.
'Or eating him out,' Megumi added, just as the laughter subsided. Nobara squealed and nearly rolled off her desk giggling once more. "That was a good one!
THAT WAS A STUPID AND ENTIRELY INAPPROPRIATE ONE BUT I COULDN'T RESIST PUTTING IT IN, LOL.
Yuuji stared at the duo dispassionately from his throne atop the desk. 'Are you guys done?'
"Yeah,' Megumi wiped the tears off his face and tried his hardest to look serious.
'Go ahead,
'I can't believe I'm still friends with you guys,' Yuuji shook his head. "You still make the corniest jokes ever. So, about Sukuna. As I said, that guy is literally the school. The whole school. He makes it up, he represents it. He is the star athlete of the school-he heads all of the school sports teams, and when I say I all I mean all of them. Tennis, badminton, swimming, skating, ice polo, hockey, soccer-he's the captain of them all. And he's not just the captain. He's brilliant. He's an ace. He's ******* good at whatever he does. Every single time he takes his teams out for inter-school matches, he never returns without the first-place trophy. He's probably won this school more accolades than any other sports captain has in decades- and I'm not even kidding. He's that good.'
Yuuji finished, chest heaving after his speech, taking a deep breath and looking at his friends in anticipation of their reactions. He did not get what he was hoping for.
That's all?' Megumi said, looking unimpressed.
'Seems pretty typical to me,' Nobara commented. 'Besides, Maki-san's no less. She's an international player, after all. Pretty much the goddess of fencing in her age group and lots of those above hers- now that's something I'd call impressive. And she's won the school plenty of stuff, too.'
"Yeah, and you're only saying that because you have a big fat crush on her,' Megumi grinned,
Nobara blushed furiously. 'I do not have a crush on Maki-san!'
Yuuji sighed in exasperation. 'You don't get it at all, you guys! Sukuna's, like, the elite. He's famous. He even has a special nickname- the King of Curses, a title the boys of some other school gave him that stuck, because he's so renowned for bashing up any team he plays against in matches. He's a curse to whoever he plays against, he's an absolute beast when it comes to sport.'
Yeah, but how much does that matter, anyway?' Megumi shrugged. 'He might be good at all that athletic stuff, but he's got absolutely zero brains. I've heard he fails every class he takes, or almost every-heard he's only in here on honorary basis, or something. How does being good at sports help if you've got zero intelligence?'
"Well, yeah, tell that to the girls,' Yuuji scoffed. They're gaga about him. Like, just completely gaga. And some of the guys, too.'
"Wait a second- Megumi's eyes nearly popped open wide in shock. 'Guys like him?
"Yeah, lots of em,' Yuuji replied, and he nearly sounded envious. They don't come out and say it as often, of course, but I've heard- you know- stories. But y'know, I don't even blame them, like how can you possibly resist a guy like that? He's criminally handsome as well, there's no denying that- with those bulging biceps and tattoos of his,'
Awwww,' Nobara hopped off her desk and came over to Yuuji's side, looking down at him with a fond smile. 'Looks like someone has a teeny little crush on our darling Ryoumen Sukuna.'
'Of course I don't!' Yuuji snarled at her. 'Besides, he's not even gay. And neither am I, by the way. He's the straightest guy ever. The absolute straightest. He's a playboy, a well-known one at that. He's probably done more girls than any other guy in the school-'
'Could we just stop talking about Sukuna now?' Megumi said, sounding rather plaintive. 'I don't know why I told you guys about him in the first place-he's simply not worth talking about.'
'Hey-!' Yuuji raised his voice, just about to give Megumi a hot, fierce reply, when his voice froze in mid-air as he stared at the classroom doorway, where a large figure had just strolled through, his large frame nearly covering the entire thing, his bag hanging loosely off his shoulder, hands in pockets, whistling a loud, casual tune and feigning casual ignorance as the other students of the class reacted in similar wonder and astonishment.
'What the hell....' Nobara whispered, and Megumi unconsciously completed her sentence, without even realizing how his heart dropped, and his breath hitched as he said the words,
'Ryoumen Sukuna....he's in our...******* class?'
I swear this is not my type, I'm literally trying my a** off to make it good
