Alyssa had been working two weeks now for the company and she was enjoying it.
She was the receptionist and even though one had to have nerves of steel to handle the amount of task to be done and visitors, all at the same time. She was managing well.
The phone calls had died down a bit so she was able to file some documents in the Electronic Document Management System.
Ten minutes into it and someone came to her desk.
She only realised someone was there when she heard fingers tapping on the desk and looked up.
Alyssa
"Hi good morning. Can I help you?"
Jason
You're a new face here. Don't think I've met you.
She shook his hand but he held onto hers a little too long and she slipped her hands out of his .

He was the Mr Sutherland she heard everyone talking about
He was one of the top lawyers that owned the law firm
There were four of them that shared ownership and were at the top of the pyramid.
There were associate lawyers and counsel lawyers below them.
He was considered the boss of the law firm, and he looked pretty young
What she heard was that Mr Sutherland was the Equity Partner.
He was the highest paid partner, raking in over a million in a year because the firm was successful and won most of it's cases.
After hearing all the things about him she was in awe to actually meet him
He seemed really down to earth

She smiled back and blushed when his eyes seem to hold onto her face taking in everything.

She remined him why he was there, when he stood looking at her in a strange way

I wanted the files for the Dennis Vs Amari case

When do you think you can have it on my desk?
Alyssa
Give me an hour and I'll have it there
He held her gaze again nodded and left
After an hour she had it all complied and before she could carry it to him he was at her desk again.
Jason
I decided to pass for it. Save you the trouble of bringing it. I'm sure you have alot of work to do.

Their fingers touched when he handed it to her and her eyes flew to his and his to hers
