Reborn: In Past Life

Chapter 1: Back in past life

...Chapter 1: Back in past life...

The city of Qingyun hummed with activity, its bustling streets a tapestry of colors and vibrant energy. Li Yun stood atop a desolate hill on the outskirts of town, his gaze fixed upon the majestic entrance of the Heavenly Dao Academy. The grandeur of the institution, known far and wide for its rigorous training and cultivation techniques, sent shivers down his spine.

..."Wow, the Heavenly Dao Academy! It's even more impressive than I imagined," Li Yun exclaimed, his eyes shining with anticipation. He couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement at the thought of stepping into its hallowed halls....

Little did he know that his life was about to take a dramatic turn. In a twist of fate, his soul was transported back in time, allowing him to relive his youth. Memories of his previous life flooded his mind, granting him a second chance to rewrite his destiny.

^^^"Is this really happening? Did I really travel back in time?" Li Yun marveled, a mix of awe and disbelief coursing through his veins. The realization that he could alter the course of his life filled him with determination.^^^

As Li Yun entered the Heavenly Dao Academy, he couldn't help but be captivated by its aura. The air was thick with the scent of incense, and the sound of students' fervent discussions filled the corridors.

"I can't believe I'm finally here, among the most talented cultivators in the land," Li Yun whispered to himself, his heart brimming with ambition.

Within the academy, Li Yun soon encountered a myriad of characters who would shape his journey. Su Yan, a striking disciple with flowing raven hair and a sword at her side, caught his attention. Her graceful demeanor and unparalleled swordsmanship left him in awe.

..."Wow, Su Yan is truly a force to be reckoned with. Her skills are unparalleled, and her beauty is breathtaking," Li Yun thought, unable to tear his gaze away....

Their paths crossed, and a bond began to form—a bond that would transcend time and adversity, weaving together their destinies. As they spent more time together, their connection grew, blossoming into a love that neither could deny.

^^^But not all within the academy had good intentions. Chen Xuan, a jealous rival fueled by envy, resented Li Yun's progress and sought to undermine him at every turn.^^^

"Chen Xuan is like a thorn in my side, always trying to bring me down. But I won't let him deter me from my path," Li Yun declared, his eyes filled with determination.

The Heavenly Dao Academy became a stage for fierce battles and awe-inspiring displays of power. Cultivators showcased their elemental techniques, summoning the forces of nature and unleashing devastating attacks.

"I must prove myself among the best. I'll use my knowledge from my previous life to surpass everyone's expectations," Li Yun vowed, his fists clenched with determination.

Amidst the trials and tribulations, Li Yun and Su Yan found solace in each other's presence, their love growing stronger with each passing day.

"Su Yan, you give me strength. With you by my side, I know I can overcome any challenge," Li Yun confessed, his eyes filled with affection.

...And so, Li Yun's extraordinary journey began—a tale of cultivation breakthroughs, thrilling battles, and the pursuit of true power. Along the way, he would uncover hidden truths, face formidable adversaries, and forge friendships that would stand the test of time....

Chapter 2: The Day of Academy test

...Chapter 2: The Day of Academy test ...

Li Yun had barely settled into his dormitory when he heard a loud gong sound throughout the academy. He quickly grabbed his belongings and rushed out, following the crowd of students towards the main hall.

"What's going on? Is there an emergency?" Li Yun asked a nearby student, who looked at him with a puzzled expression.

"Don't you know? It's the first test of the academy. Every new student has to participate. It's a way to assess our potential and rank us accordingly," the student explained.

Li Yun felt a pang of nervousness. He had forgotten about this test, which he had failed miserably in his previous life. He hoped that this time, he could do better.

He arrived at the main hall, where hundreds of students gathered in front of a large stage. On the stage, there were several elders wearing robes with different symbols on them. They represented the various factions and sects within the academy, each with their own specialties and philosophies.

One of the elders stepped forward and addressed the crowd with a booming voice.

"Welcome, new students, to the Heavenly Dao Academy. You are here to learn the secrets of cultivation and become masters of your own destiny. But before you can do that, you must pass our first test."

The elder waved his hand, and a large screen appeared behind him. It showed a map of the academy grounds, with several areas marked with different colors.

"The first test is simple. You have to explore the academy and find as many tokens as you can. Each token has a different value, depending on its color and location. The more tokens you collect, the higher your score will be. The score will determine your rank and placement within the academy."

The elder continued, "But be warned, this is not a simple scavenger hunt. There are dangers and challenges along the way. You may encounter traps, puzzles, beasts, or even other students who will try to stop you or steal your tokens. You have to use your wits, skills, and courage to overcome them."

The elder paused for a moment, then said, "The test will last for one hour. When the time is up, you have to return to the main hall and hand over your tokens to be counted. The top ten students will receive special rewards and recognition from the academy. The bottom ten students will be expelled."

A gasp went through the crowd. Li Yun felt his heart sink. He remembered that in his previous life, he had been one of the bottom ten students who had been kicked out of the academy.

He clenched his fists and swore to himself that he would not let that happen again.

He looked around and saw Su Yan standing nearby. She smiled at him and gave him a thumbs up.

"Good luck, Li Yun. I'm sure you'll do great," she said.

Li Yun felt a surge of warmth in his chest. He smiled back and nodded.

"Thank you, Su Yan. You too."

He felt a connection with her that he couldn't explain. He hoped that they would meet again after the test.

The elder raised his hand again and said, "The test begins now!"

A loud horn sounded, signaling the start of the test.

Li Yun wasted no time and dashed out of the hall, along with hundreds of other students.

He had a plan in mind. He knew where some of the hidden tokens were located, thanks to his memories from his previous life.

He hoped that this time, he could change his fate and prove himself worthy of being a student of the Heavenly Dao Academy.

Chapter 3: The Mysterious Box

...Chapter 3: The Mysterious Box...

Li Yun ran through the academy grounds, avoiding the main paths and heading towards the forest. He knew that there was a hidden cave in the woods, where he had found a rare token in his previous life.

He hoped that the token was still there, and that no one else had discovered it.

^^^He reached the edge of the forest and entered the dense foliage. He followed a faint trail that led him deeper into the woods. He had to be careful, as there were wild beasts lurking in the shadows.^^^

...He heard a roar behind him and turned around. He saw a large wolf with red eyes and sharp fangs, charging at him....

Li Yun reacted quickly and drew his sword. He slashed at the wolf, but it dodged his attack and leaped at him.

Li Yun rolled to the side and stabbed at the wolf's belly. The wolf yelped and fell to the ground, blood spilling from its wound.

Li Yun didn't waste any time and ran past the wolf, hoping that it wouldn't chase him.

...He continued to follow the trail, until he reached a large boulder. He pushed the boulder aside, revealing a small opening....

He crawled into the opening and found himself in a dark cave. He lit a torch and looked around.

The cave was filled with stalactites and stalagmites, creating a mysterious atmosphere. Li Yun spotted a glint of metal in the corner of the cave. He walked towards it and saw a silver token with a dragon symbol on it.

^^^He recognized it as one of the most valuable tokens in the test. It was worth 100 points, which was more than most students could get in an hour.^^^

He grabbed the token and smiled. He had just scored a major advantage in the test.

...He put the token in his bag and prepared to leave the cave. But before he could do that, he heard footsteps outside....

He quickly hide behind a rock and peeked out. He saw Chen Xuan entering the cave, holding a torch.

Chen Xuan was one of Li Yun's rivals in the academy. He was arrogant and ruthless, always looking down on others. He had a grudge against Li Yun, who had surpassed him in several classes.

Chen Xuan looked around the cave, searching for tokens. He didn't notice Li Yun hiding behind the rock.

^^^Li Yun felt a surge of anger. He wondered how Chen Xuan had found out about the cave. Did he follow him? Or did he have some other source of information?^^^

Li Yun decided to wait until Chen Xuan left, then sneak out of the cave. He didn't want to confront him, as that would waste time and energy.

But as he watched Chen Xuan explore the cave, he saw something that made his blood boil.

^^^Chen Xuan walked towards another corner of the cave, where there was a small altar. On top of the altar, there was a jade box with intricate carvings on it.^^^

Li Yun recognized it as one of the hidden treasures of the academy. It contained a rare cultivation technique that could enhance one's elemental power.

He had found it in his previous life, but he had been too late to open it. Chen Xuan had arrived before him and snatched it away.

Li Yun had never forgiven him for that.

...He watched as Chen Xuan reached for the jade box, his eyes gleaming with greed....

Li Yun couldn't let him have it again. He decided to act.

He jumped out from behind the rock and threw his sword at Chen Xuan.

The sword flew through the air and hit Chen Xuan's hand, causing him to drop the jade box.

Chen Xuan screamed in pain and turned around. He saw Li Yun standing there, holding another sword.

"Li Yun! You bastard! How dare you attack me!" Chen Xuan shouted, his face twisted with rage.

"Chen Xuan, you don't deserve that treasure. It belongs to me," Li Yun said, his voice cold and firm.

He charged at Chen Xuan, ready to fight for what was rightfully his.
