Sheikh Ali ibn Hanifa al Hawazin was a well-liked and rich leader in ancient Arabia. He was tall and attractive, with short black hair and a beard and a broad chest. He exudes a powerful aura and has no fear other than that of his Creator. As he journeys with his dependable 3 other tribe mates from his town to another tribe of Al Harith.
He was astride his white horse, Ruh, which means Spirit. His headdress was blowing in the wind as he rode his horse.
As he rode through the vast open fields, he felt a sense of freedom and liberation. The wind blowing through his his headdress made him feel alive. Ruh, his loyal companion, galloped with grace and strength. The bond between them was unbreakable, and they both understood each other's unspoken language. As they rode further, the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow across the horizon. It was a moment of pure bliss, and he knew that he would cherish this memory forever.
While Ali was riding Ruh, one of his tribe members Umar his very close friend called him out and said " Ya Ali, let take some rest here near to that date tree, it will give us shade in this very hot weather and I believe we all are thirsty."
Ali turned his head towards the voice and saw his friend waving at him. He pulled Ruh to a stop and rode towards his friend. Then Ali responded "That's a great idea," Ali said as he dismounted from Ruh. "We can also have some snacks before we start our journey again." The group of riders made their way towards the date tree and settled down in its shade.
Ali took a moment to appreciate the cool breeze and the sound of the flowing water and thanks Allah his lord for such breeze in such a weather. "This is exactly what we needed," he thought to himself. himself.
Then Yusuf started a conversation about the purpose of this journey to another tribe and So Ali turned to Yusuf and replied, "Our purpose is to establish a peaceful relationship with the neighboring tribe and to discuss trade opportunities. It is important for us to maintain good relations with our neighboring tribes for the prosperity of our own community as our prophet told us to do." Yusuf and other 3 men nodded in agreement.
Then another men whose name was Amir asked " Ya Ali, do you think this trade proposal will be a success? what if they reject our proposal?" Ali thought for a moment before responding to Amir's question. "I believe we have presented a strong proposal and have made a compelling case for why this trade would benefit both parties," he said. "However, if they do reject our proposal, we have believe that was the best for us and Allah knows the best." Umar smiled and added. "Ultimately, it is up to them to decide. We can only trust in Allah's plan and have faith that everything will work out for the best," Umar chimed in.
The 4 men sat in silence for a moment and were eating dates, contemplating the outcome of their proposal.
Later Umar stood up as his leg was numb due to sitting for a long time
He stretched his legs to get the blood flowing again. Then, from a distance, Umar observed a woman running. The desert made it difficult to see clearly, but he persevered and managed to make out that a few other men were pursuing her, so he quickly called Ali, his best friend and the tribe's chief, to speak with him of the situation.
Ali hurriedly up and looked in the direction of Umar. He also observed the woman being pursued by the 3 men. Without thinking twice, he gave the all-clear to his tribesmen, and they immediately sprinted to the woman's defense. They could hear her yelling for aid as they drew nearer. Ali and his guys were aware that they needed to act quickly to protect the woman from any danger.
Ali and the others approached the woman, and Ali noticed she was attired in a long, black robe and wearing a black veil over her head covering. Ali could only see the woman's beautiful brown eyes, which were filled with tears of dread as she swiftly ran to them.
Ali then told the woman to not fear, He assured her that they were there to help. The other men who were chasing the woman also came closer with swords in their hands. Ali and his guys stood in front of the woman, forming a protective shield around her.
The other men said "Step aside and let us have the woman," one of the men said menacingly. Ali stood his ground and replied firmly, "We will not let you harm her. She is under our protection now, I cant give this woman to you until you give me a valid reason why are you chasing her?" Umar was staring firmly at those men and noticing their every movement.
Ali glanced at the woman behind him out of the corner of his eye and saw that she was shaking with fright. He then turned to face the men in front of him. Then one of those males began to behave impolitely.
At the man's rude tone, Ali's blood began to boil. "You dare speak to us like that?" he shouted, clenching his jaw in rage. Ali felt Umar's hand on his shoulder, asking him to remain calm. Umar said, "Let's settle this with peace like our prophet taught us." As the two groups clashed, there was a noticeable sense of tension in the air.
One of those men replied angrily " There is nothing to handle peacefully, and who are you anyway? why should we give you explanation huh? hand her over to us, she is a very dangerous woman she must be killed!! We don't want any fight so let her go before we pull our swords and cut of your necks and as well as the woman"
Yusuf didnt take a moment to step forward and yelled at those men " Do you know who you are talking to ??! This is Sheikh Ali Ibn Hanifa Al Hawazin, the chief of tribe Al Hawazin and you dare talk to him with disrespect?! I can cut off your tongue right now with our leaders permission!!"
After hearing Yusufs words those men to be scared after knowing the identity of the man IN front of them
Yusuf's words had a profound impact on the men standing in front of him. They were now aware of the identity of the man who had been silently observing them. Fear crept into their hearts as they realized the gravity of the situation. They knew that they were in the presence of someone who commanded respect and authority.
The silence that followed Yusuf's words was deafening, and the men could feel the weight of his gaze upon them. They knew that they had to seek forgiveness for their rude behavior, for they were in the presence of a man who could kill them in one slash, everyone in the Arab nation was well aware of Ali's sword skill and he would not show any mercy to the wrong ones.
The men dropped to their knees and pleaded for Alis forgiveness and said with guilty tone "
Ali looked down at the men with a stern expression, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. After a moment of silence, he spoke in a low voice, "Your disrespect not only dishonors me, but it dishonors your own families and the Arab nation as a whole. You must learn to show respect to those who deserve it, regardless of their status or position." The men nodded their heads in agreement, still on their knees.
Ali continued, "I will forgive you this time, but if I hear of any further disrespect towards anyone else, I will not hesitate to take action. Now rise and tell me why are you chasing this woman? what is her crime?" The men quickly got up and one of them replied with shaky voice " Ya Sheikh, this womans father Sulaiman is guilty of betraying our chief Huzaifa Ibn faruk Al Firuz, he was the closest and his right hand man who knew all our secreats and now they are leaked to our rival tribe and they are blackmailing our chief taking advantage of our secret information, so our chief Huzaifa killed her family and she is the only one left to be killed, that is why she ran away"
After hearing all this Ali and his men were bit upset to know a man like Huzaifa
Ali and his men couldn't believe that someone they trusted and respected like Huzaifa could be capable of such deceitful behavior. They had always thought of him as an honest and loyal friend, but now their perception of him had been shattered. They wondered how many other secrets he had been keeping from them and if they could ever trust him again. The news had left them feeling betrayed and hurt, and they knew that it would take time for them to come to terms with what they had learned about Huzaifa.
The woman who had been silent for this whole time opened her mouth to defend her father, she said with tears in her eyes " the chief is wrong, he misjudged my father based on some assumptions from his other members and he decided to kill my whole family without any evidence against my father? how can a leader be this cruel?"
the men didn't say anything in return but looked at each other not knowing what to do or say?
Ali broke the silence and told those men " Leave! I will be taking this woman with us as she is now an orphan and she should not carry her fathers guilt on her shoulder when your chief has no strong proof against her father Sulaiman, and he has no right to kill anyone however he wants, tell Huzaifa if he has something to say meet me at my home, now then assalamu alaikum, we are getting late for our journey"
With that Ali waved at his tribesmen to follow him, Amir softly said to the woman to follow them but the woman hesitated for a bit thinking she doesn't wanna bother them but she had no where to go and they are the only help Allah sent for her and she should accept their help, she silently appreciated Allah for his mercy upon her by sending these men to help her.
When Amir saw her hesitation, he waited for her to say something but she said nothing and saw that she nodded her head and started to walk.
So Amir went to the date tree where his Chief and other friends were to collect their belonging and horses.
Everyone was busy packing their stuffs, the sun was still bright making the weather very hot. Ali didn't say anything to the woman after that incident with those men and Umar noticed that woman was standing at the side looking down in the sunlight, Umar knew she was feeling uncomfortable with them as there was no woman with them and he was thinking if she was thirsty since she ran so much to save herself, so he went to Ali and told him " Ya Ali, I think that lady is thirsty, could you please give me your water bottle because my water is finished. Ali handed over his water bottle to Umar without any hesitation.
Umar walked towards the woman and offered her the water bottle. She hesitated at first but then took a few sips of water. Umar could see the relief on eyes as she quenched her thirst. He then asked her if she needed anything else and she shook her head, thanking him for the water. Umar smiled and walked back to his friends, feeling satisfied that he could help someone in need.
Ali looked at the woman thinking how was she feeling was not explainable, her family was killed without any proper evidence. He was thinking if he should head back to home or continue his journey for the trade proposal? He was confused for a second, He sighed heavily, unsure of what to do next. he couldn't be selfish and take this woman with them to discus about his trade with another tribe when she was still mourning over her family who were killed mercilessly, she needed a motherly hug and comfort at this time.
While he was thinking all this he didnt realize he was staring at that woman for too long and noticed the woman looked back at him and out of embarrassment she looked down.
He shouldn't have started at her like that even though it was unintentional, He quickly averted his gaze and cleared his throat, feeling guilty for making her uncomfortable.
He looked at his men and saw they were ready to start the journey, so he approached them leaving his horse near the tree, and said " O my brothers, I think we should continue our journey some other day" After hearing this the three other men looked at each other in confusion and Yusuf asked " Why, ya Sheikh?"
Then Ali responded to Yusuf's question " My brothers as you know we have a woman in need and help who lost her in our care, so it will be wise for us to head home with her where she can be comfortable with my mother and sisters and they will be able to comfort her." The 3 men smiled at Ali and Umar his best friend patted his shoulder and said " Ya Ali, as Allah wills, you made the right decision, I was thinking the same thing but since our trade discussion with the tribe Al Harith was also important I didnt say anything to you"
Then Yusuf added " Ya Umar a needy person comes first then our trade."
Ali smiled at his men and then looked at the woman who still standing a bit far away from them looking down, then he approached her and said " we are leaving to return to our home so you must follow us" The woman looked up at Ali with tears in her eyes and whispered, "Jazakallah (May Allah reward you)." Ali said without any emotion on his face. "Don't worry, we'll take care of you," he said reassuringly.
Ali took his horse and they approached the others, now there was a problem there were only 4 horses and 4 men. It would be very inappropriate for her to ride a horse with a man she wasn't married with or who was not her family by blood.
So Amir suggested to Ali " ya Sheikh I will give her my horse for her to ride and I will ride with you."
Before Ali could say something, the woman said to the men shyly " Im so sorry I don't know how to ride a horse."
Umar replied " No worries sister, we will find a way"
Ali then informed his men and told the woman "No problem, you can ride the horse with me if you want, I know its not right but there is not other option left."
She hesitated a bit but nodded her head at Ali.
As they set off on their journey, Ali made sure to keep a steady pace so the woman wouldn't feel uncomfortable or fall down. He could sense her nervousness, but he didn't say anything to her. Umar rode ahead to scout the path and make sure there were no dangers ahead. As they rode, the woman began to relax but was still sad remembering the loss of her family today.
Amir and Yusuf was chatting with each other as they were riding side by side.
Then Amir said sadly to Yusuf " What happened with that poor woman was very wrong, Chief Huzaifa shouldn't have done that, Yusuf nodded in agreement, "Yes, it was a terrible thing to do. But we must focus on helping her now and making sure she is safe until chief Ali takes her to his home." Then they continued on their journey. The woman rode silently, lost in her thoughts, while the men kept a watchful eye out for any potential dangers.
The sun had set down, and they were almost near to their village, the tribe of Al Hawazin.
As they approached the settlement, it was already dark and lit by the moon. The only sound in the silent village was the subtle rustling of leaves in the light air. The woman was apprehensive as they rose to the entrance of the village because she was new to the tribe and didn't know anyone there. Would they be welcoming to her? As she was contemplating these things, a man's voice called her out " please get down from the horse, we are here in our tribe and I must take my horse to the stable." It was the voice of sheikh Ali.
She got down from the horse slowly and stood at a side.
Umar and 2 others wished good night to Ali " Assalamu alalikum Ya Ali, have a good night, now its time for us to head to our homes, if Allah wishes we will se each other tomorrow."
Ali greeted his men back and they left then Ali called out his sister Amira " Ya Amira, come out"
After a while later Amira came out hearing her brothers call with a broad smile on her face
Ali and Amira hugged each other tightly, happy to see each other after a long day. "Assalamualaikum, How was your day, brother?" Amira asked. " walaikum asslam ya Amira, my little sunshine. It was good, Alhamdulillah," Ali replied. "but brother werent you supposed to come after 2 more days later, what happened?." Amira asked to Ali.
Ali smiled a bit then said " I will give you all the details later but first meet this young woman, she will be staying with us from now on" Amira who was too excited to meet her brother, didnt notice a woman at their side, so she instantly apologized to her " Im sorry sister, i didnt see you, I was too happy to see my brother, but who are you?"
Before the woman could say anything. Ali responded " not now, first take her inside and introduce her to our family members and then ask her all the details, she will tell you, I must leave mu Ruh at the saddle, I will be back soon In sha Allah (if Allah wills)" Ali turned around and left with his horse.
Amira hold her hands and told her to come in. When Amira took the woman with her inside her home she shouted and called her mother, brother and other family members.
As the family members gathered around, Amira introduced the woman to them.
All the members were confused why did Ali brought a woman at home to stay. Alis mother Ruqayah approached the woman and asked her to sit on the sofa. So she does as she says and Ruqayah asked her softly " what is your name dear?" She replied sofly " Im Busayna from Al Firuz tribe"
Ruqayah was surprised why a girl from Al Firuz tribe would be staying with us.
She had heard that the tribe was known for their fierce warriors and wondered what Busayna was doing in their home. However, she didn't want to offend the guest and continued to ask her warmly " So what happened with you ya Busayna to bring you here?" So Busayna explained that she had come to seek refuge from a dangerous situation in her own tribe. She told them how the chief Huzaifa killed her whole with false accusation of betrayal on her father who used to be the most loyal to their tribe and he wanted to kill Busayna as wel but she ran away and met sheikh Ali and his men in her way who helped her to survive and she was very grateful to Sheikh Ali.
Ruqayah listened attentively, feeling a sense of compassion for the young girl and thinking ho can someone like Huzaifa act foolishly and with cruelty to her family. She knew that it was important to offer hospitality and protection to those in need, regardless of their background or tribe.
Then Busayna noticed Ali's grandmother Maryam who was in her late 50s approached slowly at her and sat next to her. then Patted her head with kindness with a sad smile on her face then she said " Whatever happened with your family was wrong, was very wrong, but Allah is always with the right ones, He ids the most merciful, so turn to Allah for supplication, he will ease your pain In Sha Allah, have sabr ( patience), you will stay here until we find a solution for your situation" Ruqayah nodded in agreement with her mother in law's words of comfort. Busayna knew that relying on Allah's mercy and having patience were key to overcoming any hardship.
Amira, who appeared to be the same age as Busayna, was a very attractive young woman, and her mother Ruqayah, who was in her early 40s, had a few wrinkles on her face but still looked lovely and always kept a kind smile on her face.
Busayna was grateful for their kind gesture towards her, who was a complete stranger to them. Busayna felt at ease in this strange environment. Being surrounded by such kindhearted individuals brought her relief because she had been through so much in the previous few days.
She glanced around the space and saw Amira's brother sitting calmly in the corner. He had a severe face, and she wondered what he was thinking and if he didn't want her here at their home. She stared at her hands. Busyana was politely questioned by Amira, "Do you want something to drink?"
Busayna shook her and politely said " No, Jazakallah."
Maryam hold her hands and looked at Amira and said " Ya Amira, shy must be thirsty bring water for her" Amira Nodded and left the room.
Everyone present observed the front door open as Sheikh Ali entered his house. He briefly glanced at Busayna before turning to face his family and said, "Assalamu alaikum, ya ummi (Mother) wa ya Jadti (Grandma), how have you all been?" He then approached his mother and grandmother and kissed them on the forehead.
Busayna watched as Sheikh Ali greeted his family with warmth and affection. She couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for the way he treated his loved ones. It was clear that family was important to him, and she found that to be a rare quality in the world they lived in.
As Sheikh Ali turned to her, Busayna felt a flutter in her chest. But he didnt say anything his eyes didnt show any emotions, his mother and grandmother greeted him back with a broad smile on their face and Maryam replied, " Ya Ali my bravest grandson, we have been well by the grace of Allah, and I must say Im very proud of you that you made such a great decision by bringing this poor orphan here or else she would be dead like her family." Ali smiled at his grandma and said " Im happy to hear that ya jadti that you approved of my decision."
He looked at his mother and he saw his mother smiling at him.
