This was my all-time favorite novel.

The story took place in a beautiful yet cruel kingdom named Madelane.

The novel told the love story of Rosanna England and Caesar Vermillion.

Rosanna England was a poor country girl who became a Palace maid by chance. She had an unexplainable charm.

Caesar Vermillion was the Crown Prince of Madelane. He was a narcissist but cared deeply for his country.

The two endured many ups-and-downs before falling in love with each other.

Their romance was soul-stirring.

But there was one Prince without a Rose.

Cardél Vermillion.

He was the male lead's half brother.

Everyone despised him.

He was born as a consequence of the King's infidelity. An unwanted child.

Even his own mother had abandoned him at the young age of seven.

And that's when he lost his smile.

But eventually the King confessed of his adultery and Cardél was taken into the Palace and given his rightful title.

'The Second Prince of Madelane.'

He was engaged to Marianne Ives.

She was a weak and timid Princess kidnapped and forced into marriage.

In the end, she was poisoned on the night of her engagement.

Everyone believed Cardél was bad luck.

And the nobles never accepted him.

He was sent to war over and over again in hopes that he would die on the battlefield.

But Cardél remained a victor.

The heart-wrenching story ended.

Rosanna and Caesar got a happy ending.

And Cardél raised hell.

He burned the city to ashes.

And brutally slaughtered the Royal family.

In the end, he was charged with treason and sentenced to a cruel death.

I pitied him.

His story was a tragedy I couldn't undo.

Because Cardél Vermillion wasn't real.
