My life started during the rains, as my mother tells me......
My parents were in the same college, they engaged and eventually married and I, their first born, they had me 2 years later.
It was Sunday morning when I was born, on the day of Maha Shivratri in a nursing home in Varanasi.
It was raining heavily that day.
My mother was exhausted of the labor pains.....
But when she saw me, she was so devastated.......
A boy, who was completely white lay besides her, and she couldn't help but cry......
She knew life will always be cruel to me!
And so that was to be......
But my father and both my grandmothers were delighted to see me.
My dadi said, 'My Shiva Bholenath has arrived!'
And that's how the rains gave birth to me!
Maybe it's so bitter that even today I hate the rains!
I am an albino,
A white man......
With poor eyes and a broken mind.......with skin as white as pure cotton or the best and blankest of the papers!
Even though my childhood wasn't easy......
I still love my childhood the most......
It was the best I could ever had and couldn't want better than that!
Months passed but my mother still used to remain depressed about me.
My father explained to her that I was normal except for a good vision and skin!
My parents even wanted to cure this problem of mine.....
But since this wasn't a disease, it had no cure.
They took me to the best genetic doctor and showed me to the best phycisians when I was just 1 and a half year old.
Till about 4 years, I don't know much about how I was, but after 4 years, I remember everything.
After I was born at my grandparent's city in Varanasi, my mother stayed with me for about 4 or 5 months according to what she describes.
My father went to Mumbai to work as an intern in mass communication.
My mother didn't take any job until I turned 5.
We shifted to a small house in mumbai.
The very first house we lived in was just a single room house.
We had no furniture.
Nothing literally just a few things inside a trunk!
I don't know about that house much!
The house I remember is the second one!
It was a 1 bedroom hall flat, with a very slender kitchen and bathroom big enough only for bathing.....just 1 person at a time you see.......
Even the bedroom was so small that asingle bed could be aquired along with a computer table of my father where he used to work tirelessly all day and night!
There was a small varanda in the house where I used to ride a wooden zwig zwag horse and swing in a red plastic swing. I even fell down of it once when I was sleeping. Luckily nothing much happened.
My mother slowly came about of her dilemma, but even when she was so upset she used to do every duty of hers from preparing food to changing my dress and everything......
She used to be awake all night just as other mothers do for their children.
...But still my mother has always been extremely dedicated to me and my young brother....
