Talking with a stranger

Chapter 1 Maggie checked her phone as she walked to class, hoping to see a message from her crush, Jake. But instead, she found a message from an unknown number.

Jasen

Hey, I've been admiring you from afar. Would you like to grab coffee sometime?

Maggie's heart fluttered with excitement. Was this Jake? She quickly typed out a reply.

maggie

Hi! Who is this?

Jasen

Let's keep it a secret for now. I want to surprise you. I am following you for quite sometime. Just wanted to have a little chat over a coffee.

Maggie was intrigued. She decided to play along.

maggie

Okay, when and where should we meet? Let me know the time.

Jasen

How about tomorrow at 5 pm at the coffee shop near your apartment?

Maggie hesitated. Should she really meet a stranger? But her curiosity got the best of her.

Meeting at the cafe

Maggie arrived at the coffee shop early, her heart racing with excitement and nerves. She looked around, trying to spot her mystery admirer.

Jasen

Hi, Maggie. I'm glad you came. I was waiting for so long.

Maggie turned around and saw a tall, handsome man with a warm smile.

Hi! You look familiar, do I know you?

Jasen

No, we've never met before. But I've seen you around campus and always wanted to talk to you.

Maggie was charmed. They spent the next hour chatting and laughing over coffee. She felt a connection with this stranger that she had never felt with Jake.

Jasen

I have to go now, but I hope we can meet again sometime. If you don't mind can I have your contact number.

maggie

Yes, I would love that.

maggie wrote her contact number on a paper and handed it over to Jansen. They waved goodbye to each other and left the coffee shop happily.

The secret

Maggie and her mystery admirer started to meet regularly, always in secret. She felt guilty for keeping it a secret from her friends, but she couldn't deny the feelings she had for this man.

Jasen

I have something to tell you, Maggie. I'm not a student here.

Maggie was shocked. Who was he?

Then who are you?

Jasen

I can't tell you that yet. But I promise, when the time is right, I will.

Maggie was torn. She didn't know if she could trust this man, but she couldn't deny the feelings she had for him.

One day, Maggie received a message from Jake.

Jake

Hey, I've been thinking about you lately. Do you want to grab dinner tonight?

Maggie hesitated. She knew she had to make a decision.

I'm sorry, Jake. I can't see you anymore.

Jake

What? Why not?

maggie

I've met someone else. Someone who makes me feel alive.

Jake was hurt and confused, but Maggie knew she had made the right choice.
