It was a dark and stormy night. Alisa, your boss made you stay late to finish up the final reports in your office.
As you yawn, your eyelids begin to flutter. You then realize that you are the only one left. You glance at the clock, stalled there next to the stack of paperwork you just finished. 1:00 a.m. flashes in neon pink.
You stand up, brush off your skirt, grab your purse and turn off the lights to the small office. As you pull the small umbrella out from your purse, you open the door and begin your walk back to your small apartment in New York.
As you pull open the door, the rain begins to pour harder. In the dim lit street, it looks like snow. Warm snow in May. The wind picks up and you struggle to hold your umbrella.
Suddenly, you see headlights heading towards you. Lightning flashes, and quickly lights up the sidewalk enough for you to see the car.
A brand new, grey 2018 Kia, speeding down the road. As it passes you, water splashes everywhere, soaking you. After that, you stopped in shock. Surprised at this behavior, you look down. at your newly purchased shoes. Completely ruined.
You sigh, knowing that people in New York are always like this. Inconsiderate, rude, and uncaring. Another loud crack of thunder rolls through the sky. Lost in your thoughts, it surprises you.
Then, the worst possible thing that you can think of happens- your umbrella blows away! You run after it, trying to catch it, but your too late.
Your hair, falls down from the beautiful braided bun you did at 5 this morning. Warm tears slide down your cheeks making you shiver.
