Alayna is an intelligent and strikingly beautiful young woman who is widely admired for her
popularity. Alayna is the object of envy for many due to her tight-knit group of friends consisting of Blayke, Daniellele, Mars, and Lewis, with whom she spends a lot of time. They frequently visit the same golf club together and relish each other's company. Moreover, Alayna particularly enjoys shopping trips with Blayke and Daniellele.
Additionally, Alayna has a wealthy boyfriend, and their flawless relationship is the subject of much admiration and envy. Their deep love for each other is often the topic of conversation in their college, and they are widely regarded as the epitome of a perfect couple. Lewis also has a crush on Alayna and has made a few attempts to express his feelings. However, Alayna is clueless and not much help, as she is always lost in the thoughts of her boyfriend.
Finally, frustrated with all his failed attempts, Lewis musters up the courage to confess his feelings to her. He calls Alayna to meet him at the café near their university, waiting for her with a flower bouquet.
However, at the time when she is on her way to the café, she gets a message from Mars saying that he wants to show her the new mall his company is building. She tells Lewis that she cannot come, which enrages him as he feels like a loser. While waiting there, he is approached by some guys from his college who inform him that Alayna's heart belongs to Mars, as they are both heirs to the wealthiest families in the country, making them a perfect match. Hearing this only fuels his anger, as he realizes his chances with Alayna are slim.
Ch 2 Jealousy
A friend from college has a birthday party, and he invites everyone. Alayna and Mars were together the whole time, joking and having fun, while Lewis was watching all of this. Lewis feels very lonely; he goes to talk to Alayna, but her friends take her away for drinks, and he does not get a chance to talk to her. He gets furious and goes out. All this anger takes over him, and he suddenly has a very dark plan.
He goes to a pharmacy and buys a sedative. He sees the perfect opportunity and slips it into one of her drinks; she, unaware of his evil plans, drinks it, and the drug begins to work. She feels dizzy and nauseous. In the meantime, Mars informs her that he has to attend a family dinner, and therefore won't be able to stay here. As Mars leaves, Alayna informs her friends that she's feeling tired and needs to go home to rest. She calls a cab, but suddenly faints, catching Lewis's attention who had been waiting for the right moment to approach her.
Lewis goes to an under-construction site carrying an unconscious Alayna. Lewis, enraged by his feelings not being taken care of, wants revenge on Alayna. He deliberates repeatedly on whether or not to take action, but eventually he resolves to stop wasting time and make a decision.
Lewis throws Alayna on the ground and ties her up, and begins raping her, despite feeling extremely dizzy, Alayna manages to see a faint glimpse of her surroundings, as he bends, she bites him on the shoulder as hard as she can; he backs away in pain; Alayna tries to run, and his watch comes off, falls to the ground, and breaks; he captures her and smacks her into a barrel. She falls unconscious, he completes his hideous act, and leaves her in an alley.
Her family tried to reach her but found her phone switched off. It's unusual, so they try contacting her friends. They told them that she left the party early, saying she was tired and needed rest. When her friends hear that she is not home, they all start searching for her. Alayna's father, along with the police, tries to gather news throughout the night, but it isn't until 8:00 in the morning that they receive a call from the hospital, informing them that Alayna is in critical condition. Her friends, except for Mars and Lewis, rush to the hospital to be by her side.
As the daughter of a renowned businessman, Alayna's father takes measures to keep this incident out of the media's attention, instructing her friends not to discuss it. Everyone is stunned and uncertain about how to proceed. Alayna's father hires private detectives in a bid to uncover the culprit, but despite their efforts, no concrete evidence or leads are found.
Alayna remained unconscious for two days before finally waking up, though her condition was not yet stable enough for her to discuss the events leading up to her state. Whenever she regained consciousness, she was overcome with fear, tears streaming down her face as she trembled uncontrollably. In her weakened state, she was unable to provide any information about where the incident occurred or who might be responsible for it.
When Mars hears about Alayna's condition, he feels a strong desire to visit her, but the pressure from his family weighs heavily on him, preventing him from doing so. However, later on, when he learns that Alayna has recovered, he finally visits her. But instead of bringing joy, he delivers heartbreaking news - he tells her that he can no longer continue their relationship. Mars explains that his family does not approve of Alayna's character and that he is leaving for the United States.
Despite Alayna's desperate efforts to change his mind, Mars remains resolute in his decision, leaving her devastated and feeling as if her world is crumbling around her. Overwhelmed with grief, Alayna loses her will to live and decides to take her own life by jumping off the rooftop of the hospital.
When Max (Alayna's brother) returns to her room, he finds it empty, and his search for her leads him to the rooftop. He assures her of his support and promises to find and punish the person responsible for her condition. In an effort to support Alayna, her friends organize small gatherings to show her that she is not alone. Blayke even reaches out to Lewis for help, but to her dismay, she learns that he has also left the country. Despite these efforts, Alayna withdraws into herself and becomes increasingly depressed as the days go by. She begins to isolate herself from everyone around her, only confiding in her brother.
The weight of her emotions becomes heavier, and Alayna struggles to find solace or comfort from those around her.
One month later, Alayna is discharged from the hospital, but the culprit remains unknown. Her father orders the investigation to be stopped, but her brother argues against it. Their father scolds him, stating that he must save their family's image and the company's reputation.
One day, Alayna was having coffee with her mother when she suddenly fainted. Worried, they went to the doctor who revealed that they had missed the fact that Alayna was actually pregnant. Her father, upon hearing the news, ordered her to have an abortion. Alayna was in shock and felt as though she was still a hostage to the person who had caused her harm.
Despite feeling that getting an abortion would remove him from her life, Alayna refused. She held firm to her religious belief that the soul enters the body at the time of conception and could not bear the thought of ending the life of the unborn child. Despite her father's threats to disown her, Alayna made the courageous decision to keep the baby, but she planned to give him up for adoption after he was born, hoping to give the child a chance at a better life.
Despite Alayna's attempts to reason with her father, he refuses to listen and insists that she
leave the house. Her brother tries his best to convince their father, but unfortunately, his efforts are in vain. With no other option left, Alayna is forced to leave her family's home. She rents a house of her own and starts working part-time to support herself. Despite the challenges she faces, Max stands by her side, frequently visiting her and providing her with money, food, and home supplies to help her sustain herself. Alayna is grateful for her brother's support, and it gives her the strength and determination to navigate her new circumstances with resilience and independence.
After a period of three months, Alayna's brother manages to convince her to rejoin college. With his support, she gathers the courage to return and starts attending her classes again. Her friends also came to hang out with her, providing her with much-needed companionship during this difficult time. Despite facing some instances of bullying and mockery from some people at college, Alayna remains resilient and unfazed. She realizes that completing her studies is essential for building a better future for herself, and she is determined to stay focused on her education despite the challenges and setbacks she has encountered.
Six months pass, and Alayna successfully graduates from college. She secures a house job at one of the top hospitals in the city, a significant accomplishment. Three months later, the day of her delivery arrives, and she feels immensely nervous. She reaches out to her friends, seeking their support as she heads to the hospital. The surgeon who is scheduled to operate on her reassures her, knowing that Alayna works at the same hospital and is familiar with the potential complications. Despite her medical knowledge, Alayna's worries about something going wrong weigh heavily on her mind as she prepares for the surgery.
She wanted to have a normal delivery, but she was facing a medical condition placental previa. Her doctors recommended her to go for a caesarean. Everything was going smoothly, until she started bleeding excessively, and needed a lot of blood. Doctors were trying to save both her and the baby. The nurse came out and told her friends who were waiting outside the Operation Theatre that they needed to arrange a lot of blood. Her friends called her brother and informed him of the situation. He rushed to get there soon. He was able to arrange the blood needed but her condition was still critical.
Max called their parents, but they did not answer the phone and they never showed up at the hospital. After 5 hours of struggle doctors managed to save her. She was sent to the I.C.U because her condition was not stable. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The nurse placed the newborn in the nursery, and although Max refrained from visiting the baby in person, he inquired with the nurse about the infant's well-being. Max stayed with Alayna until the visiting hours. He would diligently visit her every day, meticulously reviewing her reports and consulting with renowned doctors from around the globe.
After three days, her condition stabilized, and she was moved to a regular ward. When she regained consciousness, she didn't inquire about seeing her baby. Instead, her friends informed her that her baby was remarkably beautiful, with the same blonde hair as hers. They asked if she wanted to see him, but she declined. Two days later, her friends brought the baby to her room.
As soon as she laid eyes on her baby's face, memories of that fateful night flooded her mind, and tears streamed down her cheeks. She longed to hold and gaze upon her baby, but she couldn't bring herself to do so.
