The Phantom.
Your eyes flicked open for what had to be the 100th time that night. Your stomach was in knots and your heart wouldn't stop racing. You rolled over and looked at the clock. Not surprising only 7 minutes had passed since the last time your eyes dared to see how long you had been tossing and turning.
You still had an hour until you had to get up, yet you could tell that you would be spending that time awake. So, you decided to use the extra time to spend an extra amount of time in the shower before everyone else was awake.
You sat up and looked across the room to the bed on the opposite side of the room. Senju was half hanging out of her bed, her right arm and leg hanging down to the floor. Her head was barely on the mattress, her mouth was hanging open and a nice little puddle of drool was gathering on the floor.
You smiled to yourself.
You wished sleep had found you like it had found her. But you knew if the light pink haired Girl had to perform at the entrance ceremony, like you had been chosen to do, that she would have spent the whole night in a panic.
It was the first day of the new school year. The ceremony is uneventful. The principle talks, along with the class presidents. And at the end the winner of the previous school year talent show has the option to perform if they desire.
It's the school's way of encouraging the students to hone their individual talents. Black Dragon Academy is a boarding school that focuses heavily on
academics. But they also want the students to find their passion and pursue it.
Last year you performed a cover of 'Young and Beautiful' by Lana del Rey for the talent show. Thanks to your mystery tutor giving you voice lessons, and your friend Mitsuya playing the piano for you, you won the talent show.
You were excited to perform in front of the whole school. You wanted to pursue a career in singing, so the bigger the crowd, the better the practice. You were nervous sure, but you had been singing since middle school. You were used to crowds. There's always the worry of mistaking, but your father had always taught you to have pride in your work and it will show. Plus this is what you love. It's what makes you happy.
After a very long hot shower you changed into your uniform and headed back into the bedroom.
Senju was rummaging through her suitcase for her uniform. The two of you had arrived at the dorms a few days ago, but Senju had been wrapped up in sleeping and eating that she hadn't unpacked yet.
Her outfit was wrinkled but she threw it on regardless. She promised she'd arrive at school early with you. And you had to get there extra early if you wanted breakfast. There was almost no one there when you two arrived.
You were looking forward to seeing your old class mates. But you knew you really wouldn't run into any of them until class.
You waved at your friend Mitsuya over as he entered the cafeteria. He came over and ate with the two of you. After you all walked to the main building together. Senju broke off to go check out the new classroom.
You and Mitsuya headed to the auditorium and chatted about the upcoming performance. It seemed he was a little more nervous then you. As you two arrived you approached the other students and faculty who arrived early for the sound check.
You looked at the faces of the faculty as you approached. You were hoping one of them would give themselves up with a knowing look in your direction. You knew one of them, one of the males, had been coaching you after school last year, but you have no idea who.
The music room was next to a teacher's lounge. Most teachers use the on the bottom floor, since the walls aren't sound proof. But you would find that while you were singing a voice would pop up from the other side of the wall. He would give you very useful tips, but he would never respond when you asked who he was.
More than once you would hurry over to the next room after hearing him, but when you would open the door, the room would always be empty. You tried setting up a small camera pointed to the door, you tried waiting outside the door for him to come out. But nothing worked. He always outsmarted you.
Yet somehow, he always came. He was always there.
You were more curious than anything. You wanted to know who he was and wanted to thank him properly. It was thanks to him that you won the talent show. You were a romantic at heart, half of you thought he would be handsome and the second your eyes met his that you would fall for him. But the realistic side told you how absurd that was. He was a teacher, you were a student. He would get fired, maybe even go to jail. It wasn't professional.
As you look at the male faces. There was no moment of instant connection. In fact, to your slight disappointment, most weren't even paying attention to the two of you.
Principle Wakasa Imaushi came up and welcomed you and Mitsuya back and politely asked if you both enjoyed your break. They had already tested the mic but they had a separate mic set up for you that could be adjusted based on your needs.
He walked the two of you on stage and handed you your mic and Mitsuya took his seat at the grand piano. He looked to the sound booth behind the stage who gave a thumbs up in response.
"Alright then. Whenever you two are ready, go ahead with the rehearsal. Just let us know if anything needs to be adjusted." Principle Imaushi spoke as he
began to walk off stage.
You turned to Mitsuya with a smile. "You ready, pretty Boy?" You asked.
Mitsuya sent you a glare in response. "Will you stop calling me that. It feels so awkward."
Your smile grew. For some reason, you found Mitsuya as a pretty Boy. Plus, he would be the perfect lover Boy. Which Is why he heated the nickname so much.
"Jeez. You ready the Mitsuya?" You asked with a mocking tone as you spoke his name.
He clicked his tongue as he nodded, turning to face the piano. You turned around and walked to center of the stage.
He started to count before he started to play. Soon after you joined with your voice. It was a song you had written over the summer with a little help from Mitsuya. It held a lot of meaning to you. And you were ecstatic when Principle Imaushi had approved to replace the song that you sang when you won the talent show.
It was nice knowing there was almost no one listening. It eased your nerves a bit. You sang with perfection. Once you were done the few spectators were all quiet. Which made your heart sank. Instantly your worse fear came true, they didn't like the song. It was your first written song that you were performing.
But your fears vanished as you looked at the faces. They had smiles on their faces. It was then they started clapping. There was only one face that wasn't smiling. He was no doubt a teacher. You didn't recognize him, but from the gleam in his eyes, it was almost like he had just found a long lost friend.
He had white hair and striking purple eyes with a slight tannish skin color, he was average heighted. But he had an intimidating air to him that demanded attention. He stood leaning against the wall, looking at you from the corner of his eyes. His arms crossed over his chest and his foot resting against the wall behind him.
Your romantic side took over and you found yourself staring as your heart raced. You didn't know why you thought the mystery voice coach was him. But you did, and you decided you would get him to speak. Once you would hear his voice you would know for sure.
Before you knew it, Principle Imaushi was shaking your hand and telling you how much he enjoyed your performance. You tore your eyes from the man and
smiled thanking him. The sound needed to be louder in your mic just a bit, but that was the only adjustment needed to be done.
After that everyone was released to go back to their respective classrooms to greet their students/classmen. You excused yourself from Mitsuya and Yuzuha as you kept a close eye on your mysterious teacher.
It was just a gut feeling that he was the man you were looking for. Or I should say you really hoped it was him. You found yourself undeniably drawn to him. He was very good looking. And you hated to admit that about a teacher. But you were not one to lie to yourself for the sake of morals.
He started walking out of the auditorium and you found yourself walking quickly to follow him. But as you walked out the doors you found he was nowhere in sight. There was only one long hallway. The nearest door was too far for him to make it to.
You looked around but saw no trace of him. How could he just disappear? Were you imagining him? Were you losing your mind? No. There was no doubt now. Your own Phantom had an uncanny ability of disappearing like that. It had to be him.
Next time you saw him you wouldn't let him get away. You were going to confront him and thank him properly and... That was all. Right?
Mitsuya and Yuzuha were leaving and you decided to join them after all. Once you all arrived you talked about the break and what the plans were for college. You had your heart set on a college that specialized in the arts. A lot of popular singers graduated from there. And you wanted to be one too.
Soon your classmates started coming in and you greeted the ones you were acquainted with. There was Takemichi, Hinata, Chifuyu, and Baji that you liked and welcomed with a warm smile.
Before you knew it, the bell rang. You were excited for the new year. But really you were excited for the year to be over so you can try and make your music career take off.
You all took your seats as you waited for Mr. Yuuki to come in. He had been your homeroom teacher since freshmen year. As the door opened you were surprised to see a face you really weren't expecting to see.
It was your Phantom. What was he doing here? Where was Mr. Yuuki?
The classroom was still a little rowdy as he walked to the front of the room. He stared at your class for a good few moments before he spoke, "Oi. Shut the hell up!" He yelled. The class instantly fell silent. His voice was deep and demanding. It matched the aura he gave off.
And it was a voice you knew. A small smile to your lips recognizing his voice instantly. It was him. Your voice coach. The man with the piercing purple eyes was the man you were looking for. As he looked around his eyes found your (E/C) orbs and his lids lowered slightly.
You wondered if he knew who you were. Did he ever even see you? Did he recognize your voice while you were singing earlier? Either way you were going to thank him properly.
"My name is Izana Kurokawa. I will be your homeroom teacher from this point further. To stop your stupid rumors now, no, Mr. Yuuki is not dead or hurt. He simply transferred schools. Now while I'm on the topic there's a transfer student joining this class this year. Hurry and get in here kid." He spoke and the door opened once more and shockingly. You were 2 for 2. You knew him too.
You hadn't seen him since middle school. The two of you lived in the same neighborhood and would play together. If you were being honest, he was your first love. But he was in love with Yuzuha then.
Manjiro Sano, also known as Mikey. He was average heighted and more handsome since you last saw him. He had moved away and you haven't heard from him since. It's been about 4 years.
He walked to the center of the room and introduced himself. You looked at Yuzuha who was looking at him with big hopeful eyes. It seemed she still had feelings for him. You knew she hadn't spoken to him since he moved away, so you could only imagine what she was feeling.
He looked around the room. "Hello. My name is Manjiro Sano, but call me Mikey, I recognize a lot of you and it's good to see you again. To the new faces it's nice to meet you." His black obsidian eyes saw you and instantly passed you.
Your sweat dropped. You couldn't expect him to recognize you. It still stung a bit. But that's life. You were excited to see what this new school year would bring.
A/n : No, I do NOT ship Yuzuha and Mikey cuz wtf is that? I just needed to create this "Ship" because I needed one for the Storyline. Oh and btw, I don't know why the lines are so separate from each other, istg I've written the chapter and updated over and over again yet the lines won't come close to each other. It was supposed to be in different paragraphs but MangaToon ruined it.. Oh yeah and about Wakasa being the Principal, I know it's random but still 💀
Mikey took an open seat towards the back of the room. You wondered what had he been up to since he disappeared so suddenly. Why hadn't he said good bye? Rumor was that he just broke up with Yuzuha and left. Not a word to anyone else.
You looked at the person who sat in front of you, his eyes were locked on the ginger haired girl who was watching Mikey with a very conflicted look on her face.
You turned back towards Mitsuya. "Don't make that face." You whispered as his eyes tore from Yuzuha and landed on you. "Did you see how she was looking at him?" He asked. He was worried. No. You could tell it was worse than that, he wasn't just worried. He was scared.
He had been dating Yuzuha for two years now. She was so heart broken when Mikey left. But Mitsuya was there to pick up the pieces. But even you noticed the heartfelt way she looked at Mikey just now. She wasn't over him. You doubted she ever even truly gave Mitsuya a chance. You were sure she had been hoping for this moment. She had been hoping one day Mikey would return.
Your (E/C) eyes reflected that you saw exactly what he did. But he didn't want to see that. He wanted you to throw his worries out the window. He wanted you to tell him there was nothing to worry about. But you couldn't lie to him. Ignorance isn't always bliss.
You watched his face crumble before he turned back around. Your heart sunk for him. You instantly started thinking how cruel Yuzuha was for giving Mitsuya hope.
"Alright. We'll do introductions and all that shit when we return from this Ceremony. Go ahead to the auditorium and meet back here when it's over." You couldn't believe your teacher just cursed. Where did they find him? Where did they find this hot and intimidating guy?
You were pulled from your thoughts as his eyes instantly came to yours. They were sharp and so intense you felt as though he could see your very thoughts. As quickly as they came, his eyes looked away and he strolled out of the room as the rest of the class started getting up.
You followed suit and began walking forward but ran into a tall body. You looked up at Mitsuya who was frozen by his desk. You followed his gaze and was met with Yuzuha who had walked up to Mikey's desk and was smiling warmly at him. He returned the smile. The two almost looked like a couple.
You looked back at Mitsuya who had already made his way to the door. You blinked as you hurried to catch up.
"Why don't you say something? It's not like you to just walk away." You spoke as you looked up at Mitsuya. You felt so bad. He looked so depressed.
"And say what? I knew she had eyes for stupid Sano and yet I fooled myself into thinking I might be able to win her over. I can't believe what a dumbass I've been." He spoke hiding his face from you.
You turned to look behind at the pair who had exited the classroom and were headed to the auditorium together. God, what nerve did she have. You were friends with Yuzuha. You didn't want to start any trouble with her. But before you even knew your rage had taken over and you began walking back towards them.
Mitsuya looked back at you and the two people you were heading for before moving back with you and catching your arm. "What the hell are you doing?" He asked in a rather loud whisper.
A few students watched as they passed the two of you. "If you don't want to say something then I will." You spoke matching his hard expression. You could tell he was closing himself up inside.
"It's none of your business Y/n. Stay out of it." He spat, his face twisted in anger. You looked in his dark eyes. You knew his rage wasn't meant for you, but you didn't know why he wasn't saying anything. And why he didn't want you to say anything. Was he just in so much shock he didn't know what to do?
No. That wasn't Mitsuya. He must have a plan, but you really didn't want to just sit and watch Mikey and Yuzuha reconnect like old lovers. It was sickening. Yuzuha didn't even have the nerve to break up with Mitsuya? She shouldn't have even been in a relationship with him if she loved someone else. Poor Mitsuya.
All he wanted was a chance. And she made him believe that he had one. You shook your arm free of his tight grip as you spoke, "Well I'm making it my business." You said as you looked back and found Mikey and Yuzuha standing right infront of you.
Mikey smiled up at Mitsuya, who didn't even look at either of them. "Hey Mitsuya! Long time no see! How have you been?" You were really upset at Mikey for acting so chummy. You were sure it was just upsetting Mitsuya all the more. But you knew he couldn't have known they were an item.
Mitsuya just stood standing facing you, his eyes on ground as his lips made a forced thin line. You could see he was holding back. He grabbed your arm once more and began dragging you towards the auditorium. "Let's go." You looked back at the pair.
Yuzuha looked down and Mikey looked confused by the cold greeting. You turned back around and looked at Mitsuya. His face was a mess of emotion. It was then that you decided not to complicate things further.
Even though you wanted nothing more than to call Yuzuha out, you didn't want to cause Mitsuya any more pain. For that reason, you decided to stay out of it unless he asked for your help. In which case, you would come running.
He had been a good friend since middle school. He was practically your obnoxious brother. So you would respect and honor his wish. Even if you thought it was stupid. And you very much did.
The two of you headed back stage to prepare for your performance. It was then you felt the butterflies coming to your stomach and were glad you had a small breakfast. It was nothing you hadn't done many times before, but you were still nervous.
For some reason your mind wandered to Mikey. You wish he would have looked at you the way he looked at Yuzuha. You haven't had many crushes. For some reason Mikey was the one it seemed you hadn't outgrown. Even now seeing him again you had to admit he was still cute. And you hated that you thought that.
You had gone through that unrequited mess once before and you didn't want to torture yourself by making that same mistake. You noticed Mitsuya sitting in a chair off to the side of the stage. He had his ankle over his knee and his arms crossed over his chest. You walked over to him but he didn't even seem to notice. His eyes were staring off into space.
"We don't have to-"
"Stop. I know how much this means to you. I'm okay." Mitsuya forced a smile as he stood and placed his hand on your head, ruffling your hair. You shooed his hand away with a smile. "No, you're not." You spoke fixing your (Hair/L) (Hair/C) hair. You saw he was just putting on a brave face.
His eyes lowered softly as a small smile came to his face. "Okay, you caught me. But really. I know you've been looking forward to this since we won the talent show last year. So, no question. We are doing it. And stop giving me those eyes. Don't feel bad. I want to do this." He said noticing how your eyes felt like you were forcing him to do it.
You really didn't want to make him do this for your sake if he wasn't up for it. When you opened your mouth to protest his hand covered it. He used his other hand to hold his finger to his lips in a silencing manner. He then pointed to the stage as Principle Imaushi walked out and began to address the student body.
Even though he didn't want you to feel bad you couldn't help but feel a little guilty. He felt awful and it was making you feel awful. Topped with the nervousness of performing for the school, you felt terrible. And the time began to go way to fast. Before you knew it everyone had spoken and you and Mitsuya were up. A sound guy passed you your mic and you once again felt ill.
You both began to walk on stage. You calmed you nerves reminding yourself that you had nothing to worry about. You had done this so many times before. 'Have Confidence' you repeated to yourself as you looked out into the crowd. The spot lights were too bright to see any faces. Which made your nervousness disappear as you heard Mitsuya begin to play. Soon you added your voice to the Song.
You had to admit you were a little disappointed you couldn't see anyone. You wanted to see your new teachers reaction. And Mikey's as well. He had been in your middle school musical performance of Wizard of Oz. Half of you hoped he would recognize you voice. The other half new how ridiculous that was. That never happens. Not to mention he's once again wrapped up in Yuzuha. He wouldn't even notice you anyway. Once you began singing the music took over. You weren't scared, you had fun. Even though the song itself was sad, you still loved singing it.
Though you had a strange feeling while you were singing. It was an uneasy feeling that someone was watching. Which was silly, the whole school was watching. But it almost felt like you had just watched a scary movie and were home alone in the dark. It didn't make sense and you chalked it up to your imagination before focusing on your singing. Once you finished the crowd cheered and you and Mitsuya both waved before exiting the stage.
The principle came back on the stage and finished up before releasing everyone back to their respective classes. Mitsuya and you headed back to the room together. He spoke up first, "You know you really have a beautiful voice." He spoke. You smiled up at him. "Thanks. I had a good teacher. You played amazing. Same as always." You said with a grin. Your eyes instantly scanned the crowd as you began looking for the man. It's a shame he wasn't that tall. You couldn't spot your phantom.
"What about a Phantom?" Senju asked as she came up to your side. "Where have you been? Did you miss the ceremony?" Mitsuya asked looking at the Girl. A nervous look came to her face as she scratched the back of her head.
"I accidently fell asleep in the classroom. But I made it in time to hear you sing Y/n! You were wonderful! Anyway, you mumbled something about Your 'Phantom'?" Senju's big eyes turned to you and this time you were the one who looked nervous. She instantly spoke up again before you could speak.
"Is this Phantom of yours a secret admirer?! Or maybe a codename for a secret boyfriend?!" Senju exclaimed louder then you liked as faces began to turn towards you three as you walked.
You laughed nervously as you ran through you mind thinking for something to tell them. You certainly couldn't tell the truth, that he was your teacher that you thought you had a thing for. But you could tell the partial truth.
You waved her off. "No no, nothing like that. I had a mystery voice coach whose identity I never learned. So, I started calling him a phantom. Mitsuya was asking about it so I must have just mumbled that out.." You mentally patted your own back for your story. It was very believable.
Senju visibly looked disappointed. "Well that's no fun. You should really get a boyfriend-"
"Y/n!" The voice rang in with perfect timing. The three of you turned around as a familiar blonde haired Sano came running up through the crowd, waving like a maniac. What had gotten into him. You looked at Mitsuya who had a scowl on his face and turned his back as Mikey caught up.
He smiled warmly at you. "There you are! I can't believe I didn't recognize you! You're so beautiful now compared to when we were kids. But I knew it was you the second I heard you sing. You did an amazing job." He spoke. As you looked into his wide obsidian eyes you saw the friendly look he always used to give you.
But there was something else inside those eyes. Something dark yet strangely inviting. You blinked as you realized his words a pink came to your cheeks despite your efforts to keep the blush at bay. Mitsuya turned around and spoke up for you.
"She was beautiful then too." Mitsuya took a step to stand between you and Mikey. You looked at Senju who looked as confused as you. You both turned back to the two boys.
Mikey looked up at Mitsuya with a challenging look in his eyes. Almost like he was trying to intimidate him. "Of course she was. But I'm surprised you noticed, Mitsuya. After all you spent all your time back then looking at Yuzuha." Mikey said with a small grin.
"And you spent all your time flirting with her." Mitsuya responded instantly and cooly. You wish you could see his face. For some reason it almost felt like the two of them were fighting over you. Which didn't make sense since neither of them liked you.. Right?
Mikey scoffed as his face began to look annoyed. "What the hell is your problem Mitsuya?" He asked, his voice raising with every word. Mitsuya met Mikey's volume.
"My problem is little sh!ts like you who think they can just treat everyone like sh!t and act like everything is okay. Do you even know how much it hurt Yuzuha and Y/n when you left without a word? Do you even care?" Mitsuya yelled back.
You began to grOW uncomfortable as more and more people began to stop and watch the two of them. Mikey looked a little surprised by Mitsuya's words but recovered quickly and much quieter.
"Of course I care." Mikey spoke with a soft look on his face. It almost looked like he felt guilty. "Not enough to deserve either of them. I don't know what kind of game you're playing Manjiro, but leave-"
"Yuzuha? Fine. I want-"
"Don't ******* interrupt me Manjiro!" Mitsuya responded interrupting Mikey the same way Mikey had interrupted him.
"You can have Yuzuha. She's only ever loved you anyway. But Y/n, she's mine." Mitsuya finished turning around to face you. He looked down at you with lowered lids. Before you even knew what was happening his lips came crashing down upon yours.
You stood frozen, before you could comprehend it his lips left yours. Mitsuya turned around to Mikey and did something that pissed off Mikey all the more. You blinked as you stood in shock. You felt a familiar sharp feeling and your eyes moved to the holder. Your homeroom teacher Mr. Kurokawa standing In the back of the crowd and you felt something very icey and threatening in his stare. But you were wrong.
He wasn't looking at you.
He was looking at Mitsuya.
– To Be Continued ! –
You stood as you looked at Mitsuya. His eyes were shadowed over, you couldn't tell what was going through his head. You knew this wasn't what you
thought. There was no way he did that just now for love. You knew better than anyone that his heart belonged to Yuzuha. So why the hell did he do that?
You wanted to slap him and tell him he's the a*s for running around kissing other girls when his in a relationship with Yuzuha.
Speaking of her, you noticed her as one of the many people watching the four of you and for some reason felt very guilty.
"Alright. Show's over." You welcomed the deep voice as the man with the icy stare came walking up with his hands in his pockets. Mr. Kurokawa was your Phantom Angel for stepping in.
He looked at the four of you his cool glance making you feel like a bad puppy that just peed on the carpet. "You four, save the soap opera for after the
bell rings." He spoke and you heard Senju gasp.
"You're including me?! I was just in innocent spectator caught up in all this." She tried to plead her case. You weren't sure why it mattered. You guessed she didn't want to be a part of this and you couldn't blame her. You didn't even want to be a part of this.
Suddenly the atmosphere grew very tense as the man turned his eyes to Senju, she visibly shook at his stare. His eyes were dark, you wondered if this was his personality of if he was just quick to annoyance.
"What was that?" He asked stepping up to her. His face inches from hers. She leaned back and turned her head as she tried to ignore the feeling of doom overcoming her. "Nothing!" She squeaked as she turned and began walking back towards the class at a very fast pace.
You heard the man 'Tsk' as he began to follow her and the crowd around you began to disappear.
Yuzuha stared at Mitsuya and Mikey who were caught in a death glaring competition.
"God you two are awful!" You finally found you voice. Mikey was acting like a child who wanted all the candy he could get his hands on. And Mitsuya, regardless of why he did It, that kiss was so uncalled for. Not to mention his girlfriend was right there to see it.
You didn't stick around to hear what they had to say and followed the crowd back to class.
You felt someone touching your arm and shook them off instinctively. You looked and saw Mitsuya with a guilty look on his face.
"Y/n.." He spoke as he walked with you. His voice somehow sounded more depressed than before. But you kept your eyes straight. You were so upset
you really didn't want to look at him.
You wouldn't have mind if you knew he liked you, but you knew that wasn't the case. Whatever the reason he did it for his own personal gain. He used you. And that hurt. That was't how you envisioned your first kiss.
"You don't have to say anything. Just let me tell you that l'm sorry. I saw Yuzuha standing there watching and I.. I just wanted to see if she felt anything towards me at all."
A light went on in your head. That's why he did it. No doubt after the kiss he looked for some reaction on Yuzuha's face. But that didn't make it all magically okay.
"Well I hope it was worth it." You said coldly as you turned into the classroom and took your seat back behind Mitsuya's desk.
You turned your head towards the window and hoped Mitsuya would leave you alone for now. He was like family. You would forgive him, you knew that. Hell, if he had told you the plan beforehand you probably would have gone along with it to help him.
But he didn't. And for now, you just wanted to be upset. Mitsuya paused as he stood infront of his desk. You could feel his eyes on you and really hoped he would just sit and leave you alone for now.
He sighed before sitting in his desk and you let out a small breath as well. The jerk. Did he even care about what that kiss would do to you.
You bit your lip, of course he did. You knew him well enough to know that he did think about your feelings. Which was making it very hard to stay upset with him.
There was one thing that was itching at you. Something you really had to know. You were still upset, but you found yourself asking before you could stop yourself.
As the rest of the class came in and found their seat you leaned forward in your desk and whispered, "So, did you get your answer?" You asked.
Mitsuya tilted his head towards you slightly. "Yeah." His voice was dry, emotionless as he faced the front of the room once more.
That was enough for you to interpret. It told you Yuzuha hadn't show any kind of emotion. She didn't care. You had to admit there were different ways for him to find his answer, but if you had been as hurt and angry as Mitsuya was. You probably would have done the same thing.
You looked over at Yuzuha and hoped she didn't get the wrong idea about you. You didn't want her, or the whole school for that matter, thinking you went around stealing boyfriends.
She sat with her eyes to the front of the room. It seemed she felt you watching, she glanced towards you almost instantly. Though glanced probably isn't the right word to use. Deathly glared is more appropriate.
You actually felt goose bumps with her looking at you like that. You quickly faced the front of the room. Well, shit. It seemed she was a little upset. You didn't know why though. Sure her boyfriend kissed you, but she didn't even have any romantic feelings towards him.
There was that light bulb again. Your eyes flicked to Mikey who, to your surprise was already gazing at you. He had his head rested in the palm of his hand as he sat in his desk with a dreamy look in his eyes.
He's why Yuzuha was glaring. No doubt she witnessed everything you did. And if you thought they were fighting over you. Then no doubt Yuzuha felt the same thing. And God help the person who tries to get between her and her precious Mikey.
You glared in his direction before facing him with a pink in your cheeks. You had to blame someone for this mess and you chose to blame him. Mr. Disappearing Act. You hated that his glance made you feel embarrassed, but you hated him more for that shit he pulled.
He hardly noticed you when you were kids. You two were friends sure but he spent most of his time with Yuzuha. Now suddenly he's calling you beautiful and flirting with you. Not likely. Not to mention you've changed a lot over the years. You can only assume he's interested in you for your looks. Considering he doesn't even know who you are anymore.
You didn't want to become involved in some sort of twisted love triangle with those two. You would have to tell Mikey to fvck off and wipe your hands clean of him before trying to set things right with Yuzuha. Which would be hard. She knew you used to (and still kinda do) have feeling for Mikey. Convincing her that he's all hers is going to be difficult.
And you truly felt that way. You wouldn't mind being in a relationship with Mikey, but if he's only after you for your looks, then it's not happening. You want more than that. Not to mention what's to stop him for disappearing into thin air again? You didn't even know why he left the first time.
It wasn't long before class started. Mr. Kurokawa had everyone do small little introductions before he told us a little about himself. And by little, I mean very little. All he said was his name was Izana Kurokawa and he had been teaching for 3 years. And that was that.
Usually you all decided things like Class President and such, but it seemed Mr. Kurokawa wasn't interested in that. He told you all to fiqure all that out amongst yourselves.
As he spoke you couldn't help but wonder why he didn't want you to know who he was? Why hide when he was helping you sing? It really didn't make sense why he felt he needed to be so mysterious.
Once the bell rang you sprang up from your desk. You gathered your things as quickly as you could. Making sure to keep a close eye on Mr. Kurokawa. You were determined to figure out things with your Phantom.
As soon as you took a step towards his desk you found yourself surrounded. Mitsuya, Yuzuha, Mikey, and Senju had all circled around your desk.
You cursed under your breath. Your Phantom would have to wait. Better to deal with this now rather than later.
"Y/n! You promised you'd treat me to lunch! Don't think I forgot!" Senju sang wrapping her arms around yours. It seemed she was trying to rescue you. Which was sweet, but you couldn't avoid this forever.
"Sorry, you go on ahead. I'll meet you there." You responded with a regretful look. Senju looked into your eyes before deciding you would be okay and left with a smile and a Wave.
"Y/n, can we talk?" You looked at the three faces as they spoke in unison. You were momentarily taken back. Where do you start? It seems Mitsuya decided that for you, he looked at the other two before back at you.
"..Text me when you can. There's something I want to tell you." He turned towards Yuzuha next. "I'll wait for you outside of school. We need to talk." Mitsuya finished and started walking towards the door.
You were really curious as to what he wanted to tell you. And had a feeling of what he wanted to talk to Yuzuha about.
"Look before either of you say anything, let me make something perfectly clear. I have no intentions of dating you Mikey. And I won't try to steal him from you Yuzuha. And about Mitsuya-"
"Why not?" Mikey spoke interrupting your apology. Yuzuha turned her head to Mikey with wide eyes that looked sad.
"Mikey?" She questioned with a small voice.
You gasped at Mikey. "Why not?" You questioned. Wasn't it obvious?
"Is it because you have feelings for Mitsuya?" Mikey asked. His voice was getting edgy. He was getting seriously upset over this! What was wrong with him? First, he comes out of nowhere and starts flirting with you. And now he's getting mad at you for not throwing yourself into his arms?
"It's none of your business who I have feelings for! You disappear without a word and come back years later and expect everything to be the way you left it. Do you know how much that hurt? I'm not in love with you anymore Mikey. Any chance you had with me is long gone. Get over it. And stay the hell away from me. I actually love my friendship with Yuzuha and I refuse to let you ruin it." You didn't bother to stay and hear anymore from either of them. But you saw Mikey's face at a quick glance. It was a mix between pissed off and hurt as hell.
You threw your bag over your shoulder and headed for the door not once looking back. You didn't want them to see you cry. What a day. You lost your first kiss, your first love turned out to be a d*ck, and you might have lost a friend of yours. All these emotions were just to much for you to handle at the moment.
As luck would have it the second you get out of the door you run into your teacher. Your eyes met his momentarily before you looked down and muttered an apology as you wiped your tears with your sleeve. You stepped around him but found yourself being turned around by a hand grabbing your arm.
Mr. Kurokawa looked in your (E/C) eyes with lowered lids. Even with his lids lowered you could tell he was concerned. He heard you sing so he must have recognized your voice. He must know he was coaching you. Was that why he cared?
You could feel the spot that he held on your arm begin to grow goosebumps. Being this close you could smell his cologne. It reminded you of the sea air and somehow made you all the more attracted to him. Not good.
"What happened? Did that punk say something to you?" He questioned in that deep dark voice of his. His face drew a little closer to yours, inches from yours. You could feel the blood rushing to your face as you tensed up. You could only imagine he witnessed everything and was talking about Mikey.
Mr. Kurokawa took your actions as a different meaning. "I'll take care of it. Go clean yourself up. You look a mess." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a neckerchief and held it out to you.
You grabbed the neckerchief from him as you watched him begin to walk away towards the school exit for some reason. This time you stopped him by pulling the back if his jacket.
"Why didn't you want me to know who you were?" You asked, his back to you.
He turned his head towards you with a smirk on his face as his bright purple eyes looked through you. "Because then you wouldn't have worked so hard to find me." He spoke as he turned and walked away.
The blush he caused you didn't think would ever go away. Was he really a teacher? And for that matter how can he just openly flirt like that with a student. Was that flirting? It certainly gave you the butterflies so you count that as flirting.
You used his neckerchief to dry your eyes as you headed straight for the dorm. You had enough of the day and could really use a hot shower. You reached for your phone to text Senju and let her know to go ahead and eat without you. But you didn't find it in your jacket pocket.
Did you leave it in the classroom? Well no way were you going back there. You didn't really use it that much so you would just pick it up tomorrow. You didn't want to leave Senju hanging, so you went to the cafeteria to eat lunch. You went to the bathroom first to wash your face and make sure you didn't have any trace of tears left showing.
After you went straight to the dorm and read until you were tired enough to sleep. Though you kept the neckerchief you had been given. It smelled like him. And whenever you saw it, it made you think of those words he had told you and you blushed all over again.
You were in serious trouble for crushing hard on a teacher. And for some reason the thought thrilled you.
While the rest of your night was uneventful.
For two other people.
It was a night from Hell.
