To tell my story I must first introduce myself
Jane
My name is Jane Par and I’m 18 years old and I was raised by my aunt Nelda.
Jane
She’s a bank teller and a college teacher
Jane
She likes to keep herself busy. I assume it’s because she misses her fiancé, he died a week before the wedding. It’s been 15 years and she hasn’t had anyone else
Jane
Its sad that she hasn’t found another good guy. She’s 41 and I’m the only family she has left. My mom, her sister died in a car accident when I was 5. I don’t remember her but aunt Nelda says she was the best sister she could ever ask for.
Jane
Your probably wondering about my Dad, Auntie says he died at sea a year after I was born. Auntie doesn’t know much about him so we don’t mention him.
Jane
Somehow I have been happy growing up even though I didn’t have my parents. I would like to call Auntie Mom but she doesn’t want me to all her Mom, she says it’s because she doesn’t want me to replace her sister. But in my heart I have two moms.
Jane
I just graduated high school and today is my first day in College

My first day going to College. My bags were all packed and I was ready to take on the world. Well honestly I was not that excited to go, I would much rather work full time so I can open my own pizza restaurant.
Jane
I want to completely change the way people think about pizza, it’s not just bread, tomatoes, meat and cheese. I look at it as a Canvas. I want to make the weirdest unusual tastiest pizza anyone has ever had. Pizza has always been in my childhood. Auntie and me would have our special Friday pizza, every week we would make special pizzas that no one else would make. Pizza reminds me of family and to look at things that might seem simple and ordinary, but have a lot of potential.
Jane
I didn’t leave any friends behind at my old school. I never made friends that stuck around very long, I’m hoping that this time I’ll make a true friend
Jane
Auntie made me a special breakfast this morning.
Jane
“Auntie you didn’t have to go all out for my first day”
Aunt Nelda
“I know, I know. I just wanted you to start the day off good”
Aunt Nelda
“You won’t be living here anymore, So I have to give you something special to remember me by”
Jane
She opened her hand revealing a bracelet
Aunt Nelda
“I thought about wrapping it but felt like this would be more of a surprise”
Jane
I noticed on the tiny silver chain that there are little butterflies on it. I love butterflies
Jane
“Auntie it has butterflies on it! You really do know me”
Aunt Nelda
“Of course I know you the best”
Jane
“Can you move closer to the college so I don’t have to leave you home alone?”
Aunt Nelda
“Oh you know I can’t leave this house where me and your Mom lived together when we went to college together”
Jane
“I know but… won’t you be lonely here?”
Aunt Nelda
“I’ll be alright. I’m far to busy to be lonely anyway”
Jane
That’s what I’m worried about. You always keep yourself busy so you don’t feel lonely.
Jane
“When I graduate and come back, and open the pizza restaurant. We will work together every day. So don’t be sad or lonely”
Aunt Nelda
“I’m looking forward to the day”
Aunt Nelda
“Now enough talking you need to eat up”
Jane
I eat as much as I could so Auntie would be happy.
Jane
The time had come, I put my suitcase in the taxi and hugged my Aunt goodbye
Aunt Nelda
“I love you butterfly. Stay safe and don’t forget to eat well”
Jane
“Thank you for everything Auntie. I love you so much”
Jane
I squeezed her tight and let go of the hug. I saw she was trying to hold the tears in her eyes
Aunt Nelda
“By by now, hurry you don’t want to miss the tour“
Jane
“Take care Auntie. I’ll call you every day”
Aunt Nelda
“No no, you’ll be to busy for that. Let’s talk every Friday”
Aunt Nelda
“Go now don’t be late”
Jane
She practically pushed me into the car.
Jane
We both wave bye as the car drives away.
Jane
A tear fell down my cheek as I sadly wipe it away
Jane
“Be strong, for Auntie”
First hour of the first day
Jane
“Oh wow this place is so nice”
Jane
“I’ll make sure to have the best experience here”
Jane
All the people here look so unique
In the main building Jane goes to check in
Jane
“Hello I’m new to this school”
Someone
“You’ll be in the shadow dorm it’s on the very edge of campus. Here’s a map of campus, it will show you were everything is, and here’s your room card”
Jane
“Thank you. Is there anything else I need to know?”
Someone
“Hang in there kid. This school isn’t kind to it’s students and the students aren’t kind to newcomers. If you’ve lasted a year then that means you are tough enough to be here”
Jane
“What do you mean miss?”
Someone
“Your here on scholarship right?”
Jane
“Yes… how did you know?”
Someone
“I know the type”
Someone
“Kids that come here on scholarship are always driven out. You may not have been aware who the head of this school his”
Jane
“I don’t know. Who is it?”
Someone
“A 25 year old born rich billionaire son who already owns his own company’s and is on his way to becoming a billionaire himself”
Someone
“Don’t ask me why but he lives here and uses this school as his playground. This college isn’t owned by the government but by him”
Jane
“I thought this school had a 80% student success rate”
Someone
“It does, for the one’s he lets stay”
Jane
“What! What do you have to do for him to let you stay?”
Someone
“He doesn’t have a system, it’s just whoever he likes”
Jane
I thought I new what kind of plan this is. I guess I must’ve missed something.
Jane
If I just do what im supposed to then he will have no reason to kick me out.
Jane
“Thank you for warning me. I’ll be strong and make it”
Jane
I proudly talk grab the map and room card walk out with my head held high. I was determined and wasn’t going to walk away in fear. I’m on a mission, I must graduate and I’ll do everything I can to do it and open my own restaurant.
