In office number 66 of Lennox Companys, the handsome 31-year-old man reviews his papers with the seriousness of a cold and calculating king.
Draco Lennox was there reviewing everything as always, meticulous and a perfectionist.
His assistant Milan entered the place a little pale and bewildered, this situation he did not see coming.
Draco looked up to look at him, waiting for him to say something, although his assistant seemed to be mute.
"Speak," he said seriously.
"Sir, it's... it's Miss Victoria Levin, the younger sister of... your ex-girlfriend," Milan said, trying not to stammer.
Victoria is the younger sister of Draco's ex-fiancee, Virginia Levin, 5 years ago they had been in love for several years, but on the day of the wedding, Virginia Levin, Victoria's older sister, ran off with her gym trainer, she left him standing at the altar, therefore, the powerful man left the Levin family in ruins, also because Virginia's parents knew, and said nothing about it, however, Victoria in those times lived abroad with her maternal grandmother, she studied there, since Since she was 12 years old, her relationship with Carolina, her mother, was the worst, she did not want to be a cake doll like her older sister with whom they had a 12-year difference, Victoria was always of an autonomous character, she had her own conjectures about herself, and being an obedient and submissive woman was not her thing, although she is very shy and of a soft character, she is stubborn and stubborn, that led to a terrible war at home, so much so that Mirko, her father, decided to send Victoria with her mother-in-law, his wife was going so far as to hit her trying to subdue her rebellious daughter, that could not continue like this.
Draco, had seen little Victoria a few times, by the time he started dating her sister, Victoria was exactly 11 years old, when they were to be married, Victoria was 15 years old, but that day they barely saw each other, Victoria was taken out of the country immediately by her father, he knew what was coming and so it was, they went bankrupt and went to another country to try to survive, despite Carolina's objections, Mirko did not want to go to his mother-in-law's house, he did not want to smear Susana, his wife's mother, with this and it was more for Victoria, she was fine there, she had everything, although not in abundance, at least she had stability.
Now Draco is more than surprised by the visit, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion and he assumed that she would want money or some compensation for what had happened, however, something in him made him accept the situation.
"Tell her to come in," he said in his thick, almost guttural voice, startling his assistant.
"Yes sir, right away," he said, a little scared of what was going to happen to that poor young lady.
Draco continued looking at his papers, until he heard a soft but warm voice.
"Hello brother-in-law, it's nice to see you, after all this time," she said, making Draco's hair stand on end, and when he was about to complain about being called that, he looked up and what he saw left him speechless.
There was in the middle of his office a beautiful young woman with dark hair like night, beautiful eyes between gold and green that stand out on her beautiful white skin like snow.
"Who is this damn doll?" thought Draco without being able to know what was going on, was that Virginia's little sister?
"Draco, I'm Victoria, Virginia's sister, I know you don't want to see my family because of what happened, but I need a favor, I'd just like you to hear me please," she said politely and calmly, though she looked a little uncomfortable with the situation.
"Well, just call me Draco, I'm not and I won't be your brother-in-law anymore, now tell me, what's going on?" said the man in annoyance, but his eyes couldn't stop looking at the beauty in front of him, there was nothing left of the scruffy, loud little girl he met many years ago.
"We... well, I've been studying here for two years, but I'm just a scholarship student, and I've had problems with some students and professors, you know it's good to have a guardian, a backup so they don't eliminate him, well, I need you to help me with that, I wanted to know if you can talk to the principal and tell him that you are my backup, I have good grades, but there is a student who does everything to make me lose my scholarship, she has even gotten one of my teachers to lower my exam grades, but although I have complained, nobody helps me, in short, I am the poor girl of the university," Victoria said, looking at him anxiously.
Draco, on the other hand, is surprised, it was not money that she wanted, she only asks that he help her with her problem at the university.
Chapter 2. Tell me, why should I help you?
Draco shifted, a feeling of foreboding washing over him. Although he wanted to refuse, his own will seemed to betray him, and he heard himself ask,
"Tell me, why should I help you?" His voice was cold and devoid of emotion.
Vicky, as her friends called her, blinked several times. She hadn't quite considered that question when she sought him out.
"I… I haven't thought about it. It would be an act of charity for a scholarship student. I'm at the top of my class, I study hard, I'm very dedicated, and I really need this help. I only have one year left. I'll work for you, for half the salary for a year. Please, I can't afford this university without my scholarship. If they take it away from me, I won't be able to finish my studies," she said, her gaze filled with sadness. She knew that this man hated her family, but having left that town as a child, she didn't know anyone else as powerful in that place as Draco Lennox.
Draco's gaze pierced through her, making her even more nervous. Something told him this was a bad idea.
"Do you have a boyfriend, Victoria?" the man asked, picking up his papers again.
"Huh? No, I don't. I don't have time for that. Besides, I have a part-time job at a coffee shop to pay my rent. I can't waste time on that," she said, almost whispering in embarrassment. She had been left alone with her grandmother, and although they weren't poor, they couldn't afford tuition at good universities. So Victoria worked hard to get scholarships to the best ones, hoping to secure a good job in the future.
The man's eyes glinted inexplicably, but she didn't see it as he continued to look at his papers.
"Well, I'll talk to the dean. Come back tomorrow at this time and tell me how things are going. My assistant will save my number in your cell phone, and you can give me yours. You can go now," he said dryly and with disinterest.
Vicky walked out a little bewildered. She didn't understand anything, but if he helped her, she would be happy. Although she didn't see him as eager to do so, at least she had tried.
As she left, Draco called Milan. He had a task for him.
"First, get me all the information you can on her. And when you have everything, I want you to tell Dean Leroy of the university that I want to meet with him. Let's see what's going on."

At the university, Milenka Hannah, a girl from a wealthy family, harbored a deep hatred for Vicky. From the moment she saw her at the university, she had despised her. Vicky's simple clothing and lack of money put her in a bad mood, but what she hated most was that Luis Melis, the most handsome boy in the university, was head over heels in love with Victoria, who wouldn't give him the time of day. He spoke to her confidently, and she was nothing more than a friend, but to Milenka, the scholarship student was a flirt who was only looking for a rich man to elevate her status. She was just playing hard to get to see who would pay more for her.
In the dean's office, she and a professor were voicing their complaints against Victoria Levin.
"Dean, that young woman's grades have dropped. She's getting bad marks and doesn't deserve such an important scholarship," said the man, looking at the dean with pride. The dean simply scratched his head.
"Dean, those of us who come from good families and pay our tuition are the ones who fund these scholarships. That girl is a fraud. There are even rumors that she cheats, that she gets the exams in advance through immoral methods," Milenka said with pure hatred.
The middle-aged man sighed. If things continued like this, he would have to take away that girl's scholarship. Although she was an excellent student, she was causing him a lot of problems.
"Well, I'll see what happens. We'll withdraw Victoria Levin's scholarship at tomorrow's board meeting," the frustrated man said.
As they left, the dean could only shake his head. He had known that young woman's grandmother for years, and he was happy that the girl was studying there, especially on her own merit. But it seemed that powerful people wanted to destroy her, not only because of her intelligence but also because of her beauty.

A few hours later, Milan entered his boss's office. He had to give him the report on young Victoria, although he found it strange that Draco was interested in this matter, especially in that family.
"Sir, here's what I've found on Miss Victoria. It's all very straightforward," Milan said, watching as his boss looked up from his papers and took the folder with the information.
Indeed, Victoria's grades had dropped in one subject, although she had requested a review of her exams by the faculty council, which had been denied. What caught his attention the most was the name Milenka Hannah. She was the daughter of a nouveau riche family; her father had harassed him some time ago with business proposals and an arranged marriage with economic benefits, the only beneficiary being Mr. Hannah. So Draco had sent him packing.
There were also two more families against Victoria and her scholarship, one of them was the athletic leader Luis Melis's family. The young man was interested in her, and his family did not like that; Victoria was too insignificant for their beloved heir.
“Well, interesting,” he said, moving on to the report on his work and his department. Victoria worked for dreadful pay and paid for a precarious little room in front of the university. Six months ago, she had been kicked out of her dorm due to an internal accusation. The pressure was terrible; the girl had been accused of taking men to her bedroom for money in exchange for sex. Photos were taken of men entering and leaving her bedroom, but the report in defense of the accused was that she was not in the country. She had gone to visit her grandmother abroad, but no one stood up for her but the dean, and she was only asked to leave and only then keep her scholarship.
An explicable light came out of Draco's eyes; the man was really upset about the situation.
“Milan, tell the dean to come; I want to talk to him seriously,” Draco said as he returned to his laptop and typed a mile a minute. He had a lot of work; he would take care of Victoria Levin later.
“Yes, sir; he confirmed for within an hour,” said Milan, looking at his boss without understanding what was going on. He just hoped that the girl wouldn't pay for the mistakes of others. As a connoisseur of other people's intentions, he could see that the girl was a sun; if she were any better, they would put wings on her.
While he was writing, it caught his attention that Victoria was barely 20 years old and had only one year of college left. He had heard from Virginia that her little sister was very intelligent and had skipped grades in school because of her prodigious mind. But now that he remembered it, there was always a hint of envy when she spoke of little Victoria.
While he was working and his mind was between his work and Victoria, who is 12 years his junior, his cell phone rang insistently. When he saw the number, his eyes turned as cold as ice.
“Mother, what's going on?” he answered bored, leaving the person on the other end of the line speechless.
“Draco, don't talk to me like that. You were supposed to be home half an hour ago; Janet has been waiting for you for a long time; you said you would come,” said Mabel, his mother, who is looking for a wife for her son. Since that experience from that time, her son has not been seen with any women; she hates Virginia for it. She hates her so much that she would like to murder her and her whole family.
“I didn't say I was going; you said you wanted me to go; I didn't say yes,” he said calmly. Draco is a man of few words, and his reserved and cold character had worsened after that incident. It's not that he was in love with Virginia, but rather it was a relief. What he couldn't bear was the scandal and losing face publicly.
“Draco, stop thinking about that damn woman; you have to come. We're talking to the Belmontes about a family commitment; you're 31 years old; I want grandchildren,” Mabel said annoyedly while Draco had put the phone on speaker and continued typing on his computer.
The woman had heard the typing without getting an answer and wanted to skin him alive until she heard him speak.
“I'm not interested. I don't have time. I have to work, Mother. We'll talk later,” Draco said, hanging up as his mother nearly threw the cell phone on the floor. That son of hers was so rebellious, first he wants to marry that young woman who, although she was from a good family, she always thought she was below his status, and now it turns out that he doesn't want any of her candidates.

Meanwhile, Vicky returns to college and is intercepted by her friend, a young economics student who is not very remarkable but who manages to pay for college with great effort.
"Vicky, did you manage to get a backup? That witch Milenka has been meeting with the dean; I think she wants to kick you out for good this time. It doesn't matter how many times you tell her you have no relationship with Luis, she keeps accusing you of being a climber, I hate her so much...” said Emily, her dearest friend. Vicky smiled bitterly, only hoping Draco would help her. If he didn't, she was lost.
“Emily, don't worry. Rather, let's get to class; I don't want to stay longer than I have to. We have to go to work,” said Victoria as she sighed. She had to pay her rent, since she would have nowhere to live. Emily had taken her in for a while, but she saw how her parents worked; she couldn't be a freeloader for long.

After class, Emily runs off to her job. A fat, greasy man is her boss, and he has been harassing the beautiful girls all the time, and the situation was already the worst.
That night, Victoria and Emily were leaving the place, just waiting for their pay; they received their biweekly pay, and for Victoria, that was her rent. The landlady was a kind woman, but not stupid; she was waiting for her but also pressuring her.
The fat man asked Victoria to come over, however, when he saw her, he put a perverted smile on his ugly face, while Victoria looked at him impassively.
“Vicky, honey, they tell me you're having trouble at university; you should come to me so I can help you. I could pay for your university. You know, I can give you a beautiful apartment, a car to go to your studies, you should just be less proud, I'll treat you well, you won't want to get out of my bed if you try me,” he said as he tried to get closer to her.
“I've come for my pay; I have to go; it's getting late. And if you come any closer, I want to tell you that I'm recording everything, and it's live on my friend's cell phone, so don't you dare touch me, Mother,” Victoria said, looking at him coldly. She was very scared, but she couldn't show it.
The man clenched his fists in annoyance, took out an envelope, and threw it in Victoria's face. He was very angry. Victoria left there scared but happy with her salary until Emily approached her with a panicked face, looking her up and down.
“Vicky, you didn't link me; I was scared to death; I was afraid that creep would do something to you,” Emily said, pale with fear.
Victoria raised her eyebrows and then frowned, remembering that before entering she had hurriedly posted the link, but when she looked at her cell phone, it was broadcasting to none other than Draco Lennox, who had heard everything.
“Shit,” Victoria yelled, immediately cutting it off. She had made a mistake, and a slip of the finger made her turn as red as a tomato.
