Main Character

1) Tahara Kado: A 16 year old lower rank swordsman and the last person of the Kado Generation. He has short red hair. He wants to be like his ancestor Saido Kado and rise to the higher ranks of swordsmanship and kill all the ancestral spirits that has appeared in this world.

Supporting Characters

1) Miyaguchi Mikazuki: She is a flame user and a D-Rank. She is 16 years old, and has long red hair. She has the ability to seal and release the ancestral spirits which was passed on during their ancestors time. Her Generation where the first flames users.

2) Juba Gen: She is a dark magic user and a swordsman. Juba Gen is a D-Rank and is 17 years old. She has short black hair. She joined a group with Miyaguchi and Samon Kenji. She always talks about Samon Kenji.

3) Samon Kenji: He is the only sound ability user in the world and a D-Rank. He is 16 years old and has short black hair. Samon Kenji is a quiet kid and sees Tahara as his big brother.

Other Characters

1) Hamadate Kayami: She is a swordsman and a magic user and a C Rank. She is a 2nd year student in Kesrarry, Institute Of The Arcane. Has black hair.

2) Hano Hanato: He is also a second year student at Kesrarry, Institute Of The Arcane. He is a swordsman and a magic user. He claims he is a C-Ranker. Has gray hair. He goal is to battle Otake one day.

3) Noda Suezo: He is a swordsman and C-Rank student. He is a third year student. Has white hair. He calls Marris his friend.

4) Yamashito Motoshige: He is a swordsman and a magic user who is a C Rank. He is a second year student and has green hair.

5) Kunie: She used to visit Tahara in the hospital when the first relic incident happened. Wants to learn magic and not swordsmanship. She is a first year student and has black hair. She is currently a D-Rank student.

6)Lexis Kaur: She attended the same school as Kunie and forced Tahara to send her to the swordsman village to learn more about magic. She was already a magic user when in school. She is a D-Rank magic user and has blue hair. She always refers to Tahara as Onii-Chan.

7)Ono Kunimichi: He is swordsman, magic user and a second year student who is a C Rank. He attends Kesrarry, Institute Of The Arcane. His brother is Keita who has turned to the evil side.

8) Shishido Marris: He is a second year and a C-Rank. His favorite weapon is an axe which is imbued with magic.

9) Asai Yoshinaka: She was a second year student and a C-Rank. She has short black. Her best friend was Misa Dokuro.

10) Chikae Tomomi: He is the head of those who trains swordsmen and a former S-Rank swordsman. He always wears a suit and has short black hair and short beard.

11) Egawa Takenao: He is Chikae's Tomomi's secondary assistant to those who train swordsmen and a former A-Rank magic user

12) Eloise Carr: She is a magic user and her ability is ice. She is a C-Rank of Kesrarry, Institute Of The Arcane and a first year student. She is Tahara's roommate and Elise Black is her sister.

13) Muto Nene: She is Tahara's friend and was also a part of Tahara's team when the relic incident occurred. She is a B-Rank magic user and a teacher at Kesrarry, Institute Of The Arcane. She has long blue hair.

14) Yoshifumi Yui: She is a former magic user and currently the headmistress of Kesrarry, Institute Of The Arcane. She is 38 years old and has short green hair. Her mission is for her students to win the National Tournament.

15) Jin Haru: He is a former swordsman and elder in the swordsman village. He is 87 years old, and has long white hair with a long beard. His best friend was Vossler Le Doux.

Inside the Flamecrest cave...

"Tahara Kado!" a voice yelled out.

"If you keep on failing like this, you'll never rise to the highest rank." The leader said.

"That's enough for today," the leader announced.

"Training will continue tomorrow," Akihiro announced.

Everyone then left as Tahara sat on the ground.

"Kado doesn't need to rise to the highest ranks, he's just a failure." a student said.

Chijimatsu Eijiro

"Why don't you quit being a swordsman Kado," Chijimatsu asked.

"Don't be calling me by my surname Chijimatsu," Tahara said.

"Or what, gonna fight me F-Rank!" Chijimatsu asked.

Tahara bit his lips and raised his fist at Chijimatsu. Chijimatsu then pointed his fingers to his cheek for Tahara to punch as he smiled.

They both stared at each other and Tahara knew that he couldn't fight a C-Rank swordsman.

"I can't fight you." He said as he began to walk away from Chijimatsu.

"That's more like it," Chijimatsu said as he shoved Tahara and walked away.

Tahara was lying on the ground as Muto Nene passed by to help him out. Muto Nene told Tahara he could stay at her place in the meantime

Tahara thanked her as she helped him up to his feet but then fell again. Muto took a look at his wounds and found out that it wasn't severe but they couldn't be left bare like that.

Muto held Tahara's arm and helped him to walk as they came out of the cave.

"Training in the cave seems scary?" Tahara asked.

"I don't think so."

"This was where students used to practice during the Edo Period," Muto said.

When they arrived home, Muto placed Tahara on the couch and began to chant a spell to heal Tahara.

[Braickum Emendo.]

[Braickum Emendo is a healing spell that is cast by those who study healing magic]

As soon as Muto cast the spell, Tahara's wound began to heal as if there wasn't any wound on his body.

"Thank you," Tahara said.

"Let me go and prepare something so that we'll eat." She said.

"What is it going to be today?" Tahara asked.

"Seared Moss Bombay," she replied.

"Wow, never heard of that dish before." Tahara asserted.

"You will soon find out." She responded and winked at him as she went to the kitchen to start preparing the food. Tahara went towards the window to look at the stars that were shining in the sky.

As he was staring at the stars, something bright seemed to shine more than the others in the sky.

"Why is that star brightening more than the others?" He asked himself.

Soon, the star hit the ground and the whole area began to shake.

"What the hell!" Tahara said.

Muto came out of the kitchen and asked Tahara what just happened.

Tahara explained to Muto that a star hit the ground with a force that shook the whole area.

Muto went to the window and saw smoke coming from a distance.

"It seems the 'star' you were talking about hit the temple." Muto asserted.

"What temple?" Tahara asked.

"Don't you know that we have just one temple here? Of course, I'm talking about The Righteous Sanctum Temple." Muto said.

[The Righteous Sanctum Temple was said to be one of the temples which were prone to disasters such as this.]

Tahara gasped and told Muto that it would be careless if that 'star' or whatever it is will be left hanging.

"I'm sure the others are already aware of this," Muto said.

"Why do you say so" Tahara questioned.

Muto then pulled out her phone and showed Tahara the message.

[Everyone is to meet at the temple tomorrow.

By leader]

"Who knows what that star may contain," Muto said as she went back to continue preparing the food.

Thirty minutes later, the food was ready.

Tahara sat down and started eating as Muto smiled at him.

After eating, Tahara took the dishes and informed Muto that he'll wash the dishes.

Muto agreed and handed over her plate to Tahara.

Tahara went to the kitchen and started washing the dishes.

After washing the dishes, Tahara went back to the hall and found Muto sleeping on the couch.

"I guess she's tired, well I must also sleep since tomorrow is going to be another day." He said.

Tahara then went to sleep on a different couch and called it a night.

As he was sleeping Tahara had this strange dream of a man wielding a sword and using it against some group of people. He didn't see the man's face but saw the technique the man used. He also had another dream of a young girl who was using some sort of flame ability. Suddenly, the flames were directed at him and Tahara quickly woke up. He turned around to see if it had happened but to his surprise, there was nothing as he went back to sleep.

The next day...

"This is it, The Righteous Sanctum Temple," Tahara said.

"It seems it gone to the lowest floor." The leader said.

"How did you know?" Tahara asked.

"Can't you sense it?" Asked Go Akihiro.

"Sir, allow me to remind you that he's a rank F," Chijimatsu said.

"I didn't ask for your opinion, Chijimatsu, or let me say, Eijiro," Akihiro replied.

Everyone started to giggle. Chijimatsu frowned his face and turned away from Akihiro.

"Let's go," Akihiro said as he jumped inside the hole.

Everyone also jumped and Muto held Tahara's hand, and they all jumped.

The place was so dark that no one could see.

Finally, they arrived at the lowest part of the temple.

When they arrived, Akihiro used his magic and brought out torches to guide the group.

They saw tombs of dead ancestors and statues around the temple when they moved closer

Tahara walked towards the wall and noticed some paintings and inscriptions on the wall. He saw some paintings of swordsmen on the ground and also buildings burnt up. He also saw a painting of a swordsman who had raised his sword high to the sky and people were bowing down to him.

As he got close to the painting, a flashy image flashed in his mind as he held his head in pain.

"What was that?"

"Is everything alright Tahara? Muto asked as he run to Tahara.

She helped him up as Tahara nodded his head with a smile.

"This is..." Akihiro gasped as everyone turned in his direction.

"The tombs of our dead ancestors, the creators of this city." He said.

"Quick, has anyone seen the 'star'?"

"It should be here somewhere," Akihiro asked.

Everyone began to search for the 'star' and then a student informed Akihiro that he had seen the 'star'.

Everyone gathered around to see the 'star'.

"That's not a star, that's a relic," Tahara announced.

"Who cares, let's go and get it," Chijimatsu said as he raised towards the relic.

When Chijimatsu reached the star, he ordered his friends to take some pictures.

"That's so cool Chijimatsu." His friend said.

"Give a different pose! Give a different pose." His friend asked.

Chijimatsu then went and took the relic and held it in the air.

"I'm the greatest!" Chijimatsu yelled.

"It's enough Chijimatsu, come over," Akihiro ordered.

As soon as Chijimatsu took a step forward, an arrow hit Chijimatsu on the forehead.

"CHIJIMATSU!" his friend yelled as he saw Chijimatsu hit with an arrow on the forehead.

ARGH!!!!!!

"Where did that arrow come from?" Tahara asked.

Chijimatsu's friend also run to see Chijimatsu and was also hit by another arrow.

"What the hell...," Akihiro yelled.

Tahara then turned around and noticed that the tombs have been opened.

Tahara informed Akihiro about the situation and noticed that there was no one in the tomb.

"How come all the tombs are opened?" Akihiro asked.

Everyone turned around and saw a bright red light behind them.

The light then appeared to be coming closer and closer to them.

When the light appeared before them, they all gasped in fear.

"That is..." Akihiro said.

Tahara came here training with a group of lower-rank recruits who want to rise to a higher rank but then, a star landed in their town as he and the recruits went to the temple to check it out but unfortunately for them, they lost one of their members.

"That is...," Akihiro let out.

"The creator of the town, Murayama Teiljo," Muto said.

"Wait, I thought he was dead," Tahara asked.

"Murayama Teiljo was the creator of this town and a warrior." "His favorite weapon was a bow and an arrow," Akihiro explained.

"How come a dead person is still moving," Tahara asked.

Akihiro ordered everyone not to move an inch, if not, they will all be dead.

"So far, only Muto and I are the ones with the highest ranks," he said.

"If we act anything stupid, he'll kill us for sure," he continued.

"Has anyone seen where the relic has passed?" Akihiro asked.

Tahara alerted the leader, telling him that the relic is close to a statue.

"Is the relic controlling Murayama or what?" Akihiro asked.

As soon as he said that, Chijimatsu and his friend got up from their feet.

"Look, Chijimatsu and Yasui Maro are alive," a guy said, pointing toward them.

The guy then ran towards them but was stopped by the leader.

"This doesn't seem right," the leader said.

Then, Chijimatsu and Maro drew out their swords, ready to attack them.

Akihiro used his magic and also drew out a sword.

"The rest of you should stay behind me," Akihiro said.

"Muto heal me in case I'm wounded badly," Akihiro ordered.

"I won't have enough mana to heal myself completely," Akihiro continued.

Muto agreed, and Chijimatsu and Maro leaped in the air and began attacking Akihiro.

"This is bad! This is bad!" a guy said as he was weeping.

Akihiro managed to kill Chijimatsu and Maro and then Teiljo fired his arrow again.

This time, Akihiro dodged the arrow and threw the sword, which pierced Teiljo.

Akihiro went towards Teiljo and looked at him.

"Just as I thought, he was being controlled by the relic," he said.

"Are we leaving now?" a girl asked.

"No, we aren't," Akihiro said.

Why did I ever want to be part of this swordsman thing," she said.

Akihiro went towards her and slapped her on the cheek.

"Are you going to blame your mother for bringing you into this world," Akihiro asked.

"You say some foolish things, old man," she said.

"Then shut up and let's retrieve the relic, besides, do you know how much it can cost you," Akihiro said.

"How much," she asked.

"2 billion yen," he said as the place echoed.

2 BILLION YEN!

"That's more than a company's yearly amount," Tahara said.

After they were done talking, the place began to shake as the relic had been moved to a throne.

"Is that a throne?" Muto asked.

"It seems something is off," Tahara said.

"What do you mean, something is off," Muto asked.

"The relic seems to be moving to and fro, but when it reached the throne, it stopped," Tahara explained.

"The place looks deserted," a guy spoke.

"That's because it's a tomb," Akihiro explained.

"There are four statues surrounding the throne, what do you think of it, Muto?" Akihiro asked.

"From my perspective, it seems that the four statues seem to be worshiping some sort of deity," Muto explained.

"And where's this 'deity' we are looking for, don't tell me that relic is a deity?" he said.

"I'm not sure yet, but we have to be careful," Muto said.

"That's it, I'm going home," a guy said.

"Yeah, me too," he said.

"I advise you not to go since you don't know where we came from," Akihiro said.

"Oh really, then why don't you take the lead, Go Akihiro," the guy asked as he pushed Go Akihiro forward.

"I'm staying," Akihiro said.

"Tsk, worthless," the guy said as he started to walk away from the cave.

"Tahara! Tahara! What is that?" Muto said pointing up.

"Is that..." Tahara said.

"Guys, wait, don't go; this place is already cursed if you leave the tomb," Tahara ordered.

"Huh," the guy said.

"An F-Rank is ordering me around, doesn't it sound funny,' he said.

Before the guys could take another step, an icicle hit the boys, and blood was spread around the floor.

"Guys!" Muto called them out.

"Tahara!" the guy called his name out.

"That relic is the God," he said, and then he died.

Akihiro, Tahara, Muto, and the remaining 4 individuals then turned and looked at the relic and then the statues.

"Don't tell me that the relic is rather the God of the tomb, and it's not the creators of the town," Tahara said.

Soon, the relic then turned into a statue, and then the aura surrounding all of them changed completely.

"This is a no-rank statue, this is a God-like statue," Akihiro said.

A paper then appeared before Tahara as he bent down to pick the paper.

He then read the paper and gasped in fear and disbelief as his face turned pale.

"What is it, Tahara?" Muto asked.

Tahara then passed the sheet to Muto and then Muto passed the sheet to the leader as it went around.

Tahara then took back the paper and left it on the ground.

The paper read:

"Anyone of you should sacrifice yourself."
