3 in the morning - phone buzzing continuously.

Aaron wakes from his deep sleep rubbing his eyes and picks the phone wondering "who it could be this early in the morning?".

He was surprised "Kevin??? why is he calling me this early ? " coz they were not close enough to talk at odd times.

Aaron picked it anyways and all he could hear on the other side was someone panting and breathing heavily. He felt something was not right.

"Kevin? is that you ? are you ok? what happened ?? " Aaron spoke in a worried tone.

"Hey Aaron i am completely fine , i am just too excited about something and I couldn't wait to tell you " said Kevin on the other side all excited.

Aaron asked what the matter was and Kevin with all the excitement said " we both got into the same med school and I am very happy that we finally are gonna be doctors".

"Are you sure I got into med school ? Maybe you got the wrong guy's name " said Aaron in a tone of disapproval.

"No I have checked it twice and you got into the same place. How can I not know the number next to mine in the exam hall?" Kevin confirmed with confidence.

Aaron in a confused tone said "That's impossible. I have not even opted for medicine how will I get it ? Just a second let me check it"

He started checking the result and was completely shocked. Once he saw the result his eyes started watering and tears started rolling down his cheeks and his heart sank.

Aaron thought "how the hell is this possible" and told Kevin that he had something to do and hung up the call.

Then he got a call from his parents who were very excited and congratulating him with a whole heart.

His mom was over the moon saying " I am soo proud of you son. You have got into med school . I knew you would".

While his dad was overjoyed calling all his relatives so early to tell that Aaron is gonna be a doctor.

Aaron was so disappointed as he got the clue of how he got into medicine without opting because it was his dad who changed the options with his uncle's help.

But Aaron could not say a word as he knew it would only make them sad and nothing would change. So he decided to silently get into med school and accept his fate rather than hurting his parents feelings.

Later that day he could hardly keep his mind and often spaced out worrying about how he will fit into the place where his heart doesn't belong.

Aaron since his childhood was so interested in sports and arts that he seldom showed any interest in studies. He only could get this far because of his excellent memory which helped him remember everything taught in class real good.

He wanted to get into mechanical engineering for his love for bikes but now he is somewhere polar opposite to his dreams.

First day of med school. Aaron and Kevin dropped their baggage at the counter and headed towards the auditorium where the orientation was being given about the campus and also the course.

By now Aaron and Kevin have got to know each other better and have become friends. They got all the joining procedures done together as they could only depend on each other in this new place.

They entered the auditorium and took seats next to each other. Kevin was all excited and happy about this and was keenly listening to everything while Aaron was bitter and was lost in his own thoughts throughout the orientation.

Eventually it was done and they headed back to the hostel got their room keys and headed there to unpack and settle in.

Their rooms were adjacent and once done with packing Kevin came to Aaron's room to pick him for dinner.

Aaron was not even aware it was dinner time already and later that night both of them couldn't sleep. One was ecstatic while the other was pathetic.

The next day both were at their first lecture and after being done with it headed towards the dissection hall for their anatomy class which was filled with a strong pungent odour of formalin used in embalming the cadavers.

As the lecture started few felt dizzy while few were nauseous and threw up , many were scared and made weird faces , some covered their nose and went on with the lecture anyhow.

Amidst everything Aaron stood there without any hesitation staring at the cadaver as he was lost in thoughts.

later that day after classes they were called by seniors to a meeting to know everyone and to brief about the rules and regulations.

By now Aaron and Kevin became peas in a pod and were seen together most of the time. It was as though they were inseparable.

They were seen together almost all the time. It was as though they were dating. Whether it maybe canteen, classroom, labs , dissection, mess , and even shopping and eating out they were always seen together.

Kevin was the reason he could survive here and that's what Aaron said everyone while Kevin thought the same too but never expressed it out loud.

A few days passed by as they were juggling between lectures and labs and then there came the freshers party and sports meet.

Aaron finally felt relieved as he adapted here with Kevin's help and he also loved sports so much.

At the sports he was playing basketball and everyone was drawn to his handsome face and perfect skills. He was like a perfect heartthrob on the field making goals after goals. They won it against engineering almost after a decade and it was a pride moment for them.

The whole court was filled with girls cheering out for Aaron.

..."Aaron.... Aaron..... Aaron...."...

The guys lifted him high and hailed as he made many goals to get them the trophy.

Soon Aaron became popular among the girls with his skills in sports , but he had eyes only on Ashley his code senior who helped him to fit in.

...FLASHBACK ON HOW AARON MET ASHLEY...

Physiology lecture was going on . 2nd month of his med school.

PROF: Today we will be discussing the Cardiovascular system. The cardiovascular system functions by .................(lecture going on)

Aaron was busy on his phone not giving attention to the lecture and was smiling widely at his screen not realising being starred at by a professor.

PROF: Mr.Walker i guess you are very happy. You may share the news with us too so we will know what makes you so happy.

Aaron: So.. sorry sir (stands up from his seat awkwardly while the whole class stares at him)

PROF: You are such a shame to this class. Is this how a doctor should be ?? Get your ass out of here now . (Yells at him and throws him out of the class)

Aaron : Sorry sir I will not repeat. (picked his bag and left the class)

On his way out he was sad and while walking out he bumped into Felix and a group of seniors who were about to enter the class.

Felix the senior Aaron bumped into was angered and caught Aaron by collar and warned "watch where you are going".

Aaron who was in a bad mood already said nothing but gave an angry stare at him which triggered Felix even more. Felix in an angry tone said "how dare you stare at me like that" and was about to throw a punch when Ashley stopped him saying " hey we have a lot to do, come on let him go".

Felix lets his grip loose and Aaron looks at Ashley once before he leaves and turns around and walks away.

Seniors made an announcement about an upcoming event and left.

Later Ashley goes to the canteen with her friend where she finds Aaron sitting all by himself. She approaches him and introduces herself as his code senior while Aaron remembers her and thanks her for saving him.

Later they become close and she helps him in academics and at times they play badminton together. Being code senior and junior has paved a path for them to spend more time together.

...END OF FLASHBACK...

After all the celebrations post victory Aaron was packing when Ashley came saying "Congratulations !! Mr.Stud". She had jealousy written all over her face for she saw all girls throwing themselves onto him earlier.

" Hey thanks Ash" said Aaron picking up his stuff and walking towards her. She said "guess you had a great time with your fangirls all along" with a sassy tone when Aaron finally realised she was jealous. He decided to tease her and said " yeah! it was a great time. I was truly happy for all the fans i got. I wanted to know about your friend with blonde hair she's kinda pretty".

Hearing this Ashley was too infuriated and was saying "Aaron really!! are you serious right now ? I thought you liked ..." when Aaron holds her by waist and pulls her into a deep kiss😘😘. Ashley was completely shocked but soon melted into his warm kiss and hugged him tight while Aaron held her head with one hand and waist with the other and pulled her even closer not letting space for even air in between them. They both were lost in it and kissed each other passionately till Ashley pushed Aaron away gasping for breath.

They finally broke the kiss and chuckled softly making eye contact and at this point Aaron took a chance to ask her out. To which Ashley happily said "yes".They started dating. Aaron would spend most of the time with her. They would eat lunch together, go to the library together, go shopping and to cinemas etc. It was as though Kevin was completely replaced by Ashley.

Kevin who was always with Aaron barely had any close friends apart from him. He was not that close to others in the class nor the hostel. This made him left out and lonely.
