After hearing, Mikey finally looked at Cal' with shock on his face ''kind of… did you literally just say 'kind of' to me?'' Mikey asked looking at Cal' like he was a stranger

'' Alright.'' Cal' said, then there was silence with Mikey probably daydreaming about the trip, the silence didn't last for long though as Mikey suddenly gasped.

The trip lasted for a long time, but they finally arrived.

''Oh hi handsome, yeah you did book 16 rooms, give me a second I'll go get the keys'' the lady said while walking away, swaying her hips in the process

''Okay…'' Tyler said and turned to the kids just to find them staring at him

''What?'' he asked

''Dude, that girl likes you, you should talk to her, don't worry we'll be fine'' Mikey said smiling

''Absolutely not… no'' Tyler said shutting down any other form of teasing

''Here are the keys… on the second floor the first one is yours and the others are theirs… would you like anything else with that?'' she asked loosening the first button on her shirt

''No… Absolutely not'' Tyler said shutting her down and she went back to her position with an embarrassed look on her face.

''Dude that was harsh'' Sally said

''Whatever'' Tyler said and continued ''Here are your keys, line up, take them and pair up with your mates. 2 to a room I repeat, only two to a room, no boys and girls.'' Tyler said and handed them the keys and everyone dispersed.

''Dude, please just 5 minutes, come on'' Mikey said trying to coerce Cal'

''What the hell is that?'' Sally said staring at something that looks like a purple wheel made out of fog that keeps spinning.

''I think it's a portal… kind of like a wormhole to other dimensions or worlds or maybe even through time… what?'' Mikey asked as he saw everyone staring at him

''English please?'' Cal' said speaking the minds of everyone present

''Haa… fine, it's basically a door to another place'' he said making it easy to understand

''To where?'' Gwen asked

''Well, let's find out'' Mikey said as he tried to touch the portal, the closer he got the faster it spun.

Noticing this Cal' tried to stop Mikey ''Mikey wait'' but he was too late. The moment his fingers came into contact with the portal it exploded accompanied with a bright purple light and everything went dark.

BOOM

The explosion was heard by everyone and the hotel shook like it was hit by an earthquake. The hallways were quickly filled with panicking students.

''Everyone calm down and hold on to something. Is everyone here? Do a head count and tell me who's missing?'' Tyler said after the building stopped shaking

''Sir, Cal', Mikey, Sally and Gwen are missing'' a student informed Tyler

''Shit… everyone, go back to your rooms and pack your things, we're leaving. I know it's a bummer but safety first'' Tyler said and everyone dispersed to go get their things ''While I go search for those rascals''.

''An earthquake hit so your teachers brought you guys back home. You and your friends hit your heads really hard so you guys were unconscious''

''Oh, an earthquake… my friends… teachers'' Cal' started talking but suddenly stopped and exclaimed ''Oh shit, I'm gonna be late for school'' he said as he got up to get ready

''Mikey, did you hear?'' Cal' yelled

''It means, everything's so loud today. Dad said it's normal, he said I hit my head pretty hard so my ears are still adjusting, but I don't believe that, Cal' I think there is something wrong with us'' Mikey said

''I agree'' Sally suddenly said from behind them ''Something is wrong with us, let's talk in the coaches' office'' she said and walked off with the others tailing behind her.

''Okay, like I said, something is wrong with us. My eyes are killing me, that's why I'm wearing glasses today and Gwen won't stop eating, put the damn donut down Gwen.'' Sally said

''But I'm so hungry, I can't help it'' Gwen said taking another bite from her donut.

''What's wrong with you guys?'' she asked

''Well, everything's so loud today, literally I feel like you guys have been yelling this whole time'' Mikey said covering his ears with his hands.

''I feel tired every 5 minutes'' Cal' said and continued ''So there really is something wrong with us''

''And I'll like to know what happened'' Tyler suddenly came in and asked

''How long have you been there?'' Cal' asked

''Since we came in'' Mikey answered

''How did you know that?'' Tyler asked

''Like I said, everything's so loud, even your breathing'' Mikey said and started to explore the room while the others explained everything to Tyler, there was no point in lying now that he heard everything they said.

''Okay so let me get this straight, what happened wasn't an earthquake but an explosion of an interdimensional portal.'' Tyler said in summary of everything he just heard

''Yeah, that's about right'' Sally said

''What did you do?'' Tyler asked as they all stared at Cal' who was staring at his hands

''I-I don't know, I just waved down my hand and that happened'' he said shocked

''Let me try'' said Sally. Sally walked up to the window, then waved her hand in a diagonal manner to the right and the headlight on the field split into two.

CRASH

''OH… that was amazing, Gwen you try''

''Okay'' she took her hand out the window and clenched her fist and immediately cracks began to appear on the field.

''There goes the field, haa… that's going to be expensive'' Tyler sighed as he looked at the field which was a complete mess now.

''I'm so sorry'' Gwen quickly apologized

''No problem, it's not like I'm paying for it'' he said still staring at the field.

'''I'm probably lightning, Sally's probably wind and Gwen is earth, Mikey which one are you? Mikey!'' They all turned around to find him passed out on the floor and they rushed to him

''Mikey, wake up… Mikey'' Cal' kept trying to wake him up

''Look, his ears are bleeding'' Sally pointed out ''I think the explosions were too loud for him to bear''

''We'll discuss this after we get him to the hospital'' Tyler said picking him up like a sack of rice and running out of the office with the others running after him.

''Mom! We need your help'' Cal' yelled as soon as they got into the hospital

''What's wrong?'' Michelle asked when she got to her panicking son

''It's Mikey, he needs help'' he said pointing to the door where Tyler put Mikey down on an emergency bed

''He is stable now, but I don't know what to do now because it looks like he was exposed to a very loud sound which caused his eardrums to react and try to protect themselves from the sound which made him bleed. There is something wrong with this theory though, if there really was a sound that loud he wouldn't be the only one on a hospital bed right now, most likely the entire school including you guys would also be on a bed but, surprisingly he is the only one, so… would anyone like to fill me in on what really happened?'' Michelle said after analyzing everything she could understand from the current situation.

''Does that mean he would need hearing aids now?'' Sally asked

''Quite the opposite, he would need noise canceling headphones now, because there would be a constant loud ringing sound in his ears from now on. You said he told you he was sensitive to sound this morning right?'' she asked, the question directed to Cal'

''Yeah''

''This doesn't seem like it though, if anything it's like he has super hearing and he is going to need those headphones or…'' she said and trailed off

''Or what?'' Gwen asked

''… or he'll die, so if I were you I'd start talking about what really happened while someone else leaves to go get those headphones and another person gets his dad here, so… what's it gonna be?'' she said

''I'll go get the headphones'' Tyler said and left

''I'll get his dad'' Sally said walking out the room to make a call.

''Cal', care to fill me in?'' Michelle asked again.

''Haa… this is what happened…''
