Now that I think about about it I was always alone. But I wasn’t lonely or anything like that, to be honest I preferred being alone. I liked the peace and quiet while I read lots of different types of book. I would rather read about the amazing and wild adventures people went on in their life’s than think about my own. Well of course I did,my life was was far from perfect all because I was a demon. That’s right a vile disgusting horrible demon that everyone hated. They didn’t want me and I certainly didn’t need them! I was fine with being alone.

It was late afternoon when I was reading in my favourite spot. I had escaped the orphanage after lunch not that they cared where I was as long as I was back before nightfall.I was high above the ground on a large branch of a oak tree. I loved it there it was as if I was isolated from the rest of the world. No one would be able to bother me there....at least that was what I thought.

While I was absorbed in this spectacular drama I was reading, I saw someone approaching me. I assumed that they would walk past me, giving me a dirty look or two like every one else. I was wrong.

“GET DOWN FROM THERE YOU STUPID DEMON”

Great...another annoying angel trying to pick on me.

“HEY DON’T IGNORE ME”

I sighed. I knew this girl, it was the annoying rich girl whose father always came to visit and donate to the orphanage. His daughter was the famous Lilith Byron.She was well known for being the genius of her generation but to me she’s just an annoying brat who seems to feel the need to bother me every time she comes. But as much as I hate her, she is a noble so I have to treat her with respect. So I jumped down to where she was standing.

“Is there anything you need?” I asked politely.

“ You filthy deaom peasant how dare you steal from me!”she snarled at me.

“What?! I wouldn’t do that” I say half shocked, half annoyed.

“ I have no idea what your talking about!”I snap at her.

“You dare lie in front of me, know your place!!”

“Know my place?!” “ I don’t even know what your accusing me of stealing!!!”

“It was my jade necklace!!” She said, “You stole it when I was last here!”

“IT WASN’T ME” I shouted “ Why would I steal something I don’t need?”

“Give it back you vile beast” she spat.

“But didn’t take it!” I growled

“Fine if you don’t give it I will make you!”

I was so confused. What did I do to deserve this? It wasn’t my fault!! Life was so unfair! Why do I have to go through this? Why wouldn’t anyone believe me? Why did I have to be born a miserable demon!! As I stood there confused and frustrated I saw a huge stick in her hands. She lifted it up and I tried to shield my self and that’s when I saw him.......

He rushed towards me. His face red and sweaty. It was as if he’d been running for miles and miles. He had beautiful sliver hair that shimmered like the moon. And his eyes. His gleaming golden eyes. They were intriguing, but also so innocent. He ran in front of me as if to protect me from this cruel girl.

“STOP” he shouted suddenly.

Lilith dropped the stick immediately.

“WHAT WERE YOU GOING TO DO TO HIM”

“This isn’t what it looks like Lucian I wasn’t-“ Lilith stuttered

“I don’t care just get away from us” he snapped

“But I-”

“Just go away!” He spat. “You being mean!”

“Fine” She said close to tears and ran off

Then he sat down beside me and smiled. A smile is an expression of someones feelings. It can be good or bad true or fake, but his was warm and gentle. No one had ever smiled at me like that before. It was nice.

“Oh right, I almost fogot to introduce myself!” “My name is Lucian” He said

“I’m Axel”He told him.

“That must have been scary are you ok?”

I felt tears streaming down my face. Strange. I never cried especially in front of people.

“Um......yeah I’ll be ok”

I cried a lot that day. Lucian was with me the hold time. He didn’t say anything but it felt like if he was with me it really would be ok. I had this unfamiliar feeling inside. When I look back now I think it was happiness. For the first time I was simply happy.

I take back what I said the other day. This kid bring me anything but happiness! I’m pretty sure that I’m a boring and unsocial person. So why dose this guy keep following me around!! Dose he need something? Or is he trying to get me to do something? Just say something damn it!! We met a few days ago, he said his name was Lucian and he saved me from this crazy girl. I didn’t think we would meet again but he was just sitting there the next day at my favourite spot then he started following me. I’m pretty sure he has good intentions but now it’s just creepy. Ok fine, if he won’t say anything I will!

“Um…do you need anything from me Lucian?” I said awkwardly

“No not really”

Was this kid serious? I don’t get him.At all.

“Really? Then why are you um following me?”

“Because it’s fun to watch you!” He giggled

“Huh?!”

What? I’m fun to watch? Me? The disgusting demon? No way! Then he just bursted out laughing!

“Hahaha you even make funny faces ahaha”

He obviously is out his mind! I should make an excuse and leave.

“Well this has been nice but you see I have to-“

“Do you want to go somewhere with me?”

“What?”

“Do you want to go somewhere with me?”

“Where are we goin- aaaaahhhh”

Suddenly he grabbed my hand and ran to the other direction. I was to shocked to react but the wind in my face was a little refreshing. After two minutes of running we began to slow down then we came to a complete stop. Lucian was leaning against a tree panting heavily.

“Are you ok?” I asked slightly worried

“Yeah just a little tired”he said

He was red and sweaty like yesterday. He kinda looked like a small puppy.

“Pffttt…hahaha”

“Hey are you laughing at me!” Lucian said clearly annoyed.

“No. No. I’m obviously not laughing at you! I’m laughing at how unathletic you are.”

“Hey! I’m your hero! You can’t laugh at me like this!”

“Ok. Ok. I won’t laugh anymore my dear hero.”

I crouched in front of him.

“Get on.”

“Why?” Lucian said like he was embarrassed

“I’ll carry you.”

“Oh…um…ok”

He got on my back and asked him where we were going and then I carried him al the way to town.

Finally we arrived at town . Lucian got off my back and we started walking towards the gates.

“Wow! That was a tiring journey!” Yawned Lucian.

“Says the one who was carried the whole way here!”

“So what? You offered to carry me” said Lucian.

“But Lucian you were very heavy!!” I said with a slight smile.

“Wha-? You’re lying! That can’t be true! I exercise every day! I stick to my diet! But I do admit that I sometimes snack on cakes! But that’s-”

“Hahahahahahaha” I cant help but laugh at how flustered he gets.

“You were teasing me again weren’t you!” Said Lucian annoyed

“Sorry Sorry I couldn’t help myself. You’re so easy to tease.”

I burst out laughing again. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed this hard in my life! The way his face turn red when he’s flustered or he gets puffed cheeks when he gets annoyed how could someone be so cute! Wait…what? Did I just call him cute? What that supposed to mean?

“Ok let’s go shopping!”Lucian said suddenly, interruptingy thoughts

“Huh? But I don’t have any money”

“I’ll be paying! Do you want to know why?” Said Lucian said mischievously

I sighed but I decided to play long.

“Why are you paying Lucian?” I responded

“Because I’m a noble!”he grinned “I bet you didn’t know that!”

“Of course I did.”

“Huh? How?” Said Lucian confused

“ Well commoner clothes don’t look that expensive.”

“ Fine then if your so smart did you figure out my other secret?”

“ No I didn’t” I answered

“ Hehe then I’ll tell you I’m a divine angel”

Divine Angels were powerful beings. So powerful that people normally would try to avoid them because they were scared of their power. But some people just wanted it themselves. Divine angels fates are to always be cautious because they never know when someone will stab them in the back. Knowing this everyone kept their distance in case they were put in danger. I looked backed at Lucian. He looked as if I was going to abandon him. It is so like him to over think things.

“Ok then since your so rich then you have to buy me anything I want my dear hero!” I said smiling.

Lucian looked at me shocked but relived that I didn’t leave him.

“Ok I’ll buy you anything!”he said excitedly.
