"Thank you, Detective!" A woman shouted as she thanked me, who was leaving. I only smiled in return and left.

Yes, A detective.

I am Detective Kaya, A legend detective. I successfully captured all criminals in the virtual world.

I, Kaya came from the modern world and time travelled to the future where the world became virtual.

In the virtual world, Robots became servants of humans. Some are even married to Robots who had feelings.

The world is advanced and is very different to year 2000 where I came from.

We do not use vehicles but every citizen has their own teleportation device. The trains can also go across the sea too. The people's minds are very advanced and the medicine are too. Anime or fictional characters also can be edited to be a real "person" in the virtual world and even live with them. You can customize your surroundings like an historical manhwa or an anime using a device. But, the virtual world had a problem.

Criminals.

Criminals are always around. They take advantage of their devices and their hacking abilities. Many murders had taken place and all of those mysteries were all solved by me.

But, who would have imagined I would be in a very tight position where I can capture a criminal but I don't have the heart to do so?

"Kaya, are you ready?" A man asked me as he looked at me with worry.

"Yes, but... promise me that you'll also go after" I said almost tearing up.

"Yes...." He replied as he smiled bitterly looking back and forth.

"See you soon" I said as I closed my eyes.

The door closed and as I opened my eyes....

"Am I.... successful?" I asked myself as I looked around. I smiled in joy and relief as I looked around me. Robots everywhere and people teleporting. Virtual images were everywhere. I smiled as I looked around me. It's very unfamiliar yet it felt like I know what this world is.

I felt a sudden pang in my heart as I realized something.

"But... where is he?" I asked myself as I looked around. I ran everywhere looking for someone that I know. But he was nowhere to be found.

I fell down on my knees in disbelief.

"No.... no.... you can't do this to me" I said, crying. I cried as I found him nowhere.

If I hadn't discovered that Device, we won't be running now and he wouldn't have been left behind.

I cried as I realized. It was all my fault.

I was surprised as a piece of paper fell beside me.

My trembling hands picked it up and opened it slowly. I cried more loudly as I read the content of the paper. the handwriting was indeed "his"

"Kaya, I'm sorry if I have to break the promise. By the time you read this, I'm already gone. They will and would catch up to us. I'm glad you're successfully there. Take care of yourself and I.... love you"

I cried as I read those words out loud. I closed my eyes thinking this is not real.

Yes, the tragic first love. All cool detectives have that, right?

Well, I already moved on.

3 years later...

"Detective, please help me! My money has been stolen!" A lady begged me for help.

I smiled kindly as I assured her.

"Of course, that is my job!"

1 day later, the criminal has been caught.

"Thank you, detective!"

"Kyaaaaa that's detective Kaya right?"

"I want to marry her!"

"I'm so angry I'm a girl, I should have been married to her!"

"Ahhhh I want to talk to her!!"

I smiled satisfied as I walked over my fans.

That's how popular I am.

'I'm very proud of myself' I said to myself.

"Detective!" A man shouted as he ran towards me, exhausted.

"What is it, Bry?" I asked as I noticed the urgent feeling I get from him.

Yes, he's Bry. My assistant.

How I met him?

"It's nothing" I said as I smiled. I turned back and stopped as I saw a trembling teenager with shabby clothes sitting in the streets. He is shivering in cold.

I extended my hand to help him whom I didn't expect to be a computer genius. He is very good at tracking and hacking.

A very useful person for me.

"Detective, A hacker has hacked your computer!" Bry shouted as sweat fell down his forehead.

"Is it that worse?" I asked as I looked carefully at my computer.

"It seems like a virus entered the computer. Also, strangely, I couldn't remove it!" Bry said as he pointed to my computer.

'It's the first time Bry has struggled with something' I thought as I walked closer.

"Give that to me" I ordered. I held the computer and looked at it.

"Hmmm..... it seems like the virus came from a USB. so that means there's a rat?" I said talking to myself.

"That can't be! How could.... a traitor?!" Bry shouted in disbelief.

"There's no other reasons I could find" I said as I touched my forehead.

"I'm getting headache. Throw that computer away. That's just a Decoy anyway. There's no important files in there" I said as I held my forehead.

"Decoy? Did you expect this to happen, Detective?" Bry asked me.

"Yes... long ago" I said and smiled.

I do not trust anybody in this world. Because "he" has broken the word "trust" in me.

I cannot trust anymore.

"But who could have.... planted virus inside my computer. Besides, it's a normal virus yet, Bry struggled removing it..." I said to myself.

"It's kind of strange.... I need to look further into this" I told to myself as I looked at the computer once again.
