Fellonia, a world where the strong and weak are able to live together peacefully, thanks to the one mighty being, their ruler Adir, a blond man with a ripped body, who although was hundreds of years old looked as though was 20. Even though his appearance looked young, one glance at him and one would know that the person in front of them is no mere child, but an almighty being. 500 years ago a war broke out between all the nations of Fellonia for the struggle of power. This war was known as the ''Grand Struggle For Power'', or as some called it ''The End Of The World". And maybe it would have been the end, if only a warrior so mighty that every nation had to bow, Adir didn't show up. Adir, the only man there ever had been, who was able to reach the Godhood realm. He right there and then put an end to the war and the world of survival of the fittest. Under his rule all nations were united and every man was respected for their deeds and not their status. At least that's what he wanted to think, but he knew that even a being as mighty as him couldn't change every one's minds. He did all he could to help the commoners as he was one himself. This attitude of his made some people furious but what could they do? Even if everyone of them was to face him they doubted they would even be able to stand their ground. He was just too powerful. Despite this they expanded their forces under the name of 'The Pacifists' which was led by two people and waited for the perfect opportunity to act. And that time came when one day Adir decided to leave his kingdom to cure his boredom. One fated day Adir while sitting in his Work Room listening to Pan Cai, the duke of Janpeng city telling him about the current affairs going on which were not much thought to himself ' And there he goes again rambling on about how good of a ruler I am and how there's no big problems going on. It just can't get any more boring than this. Looks like 500 years of ruling a kingdom does get boring.' As the duke finishes talking and starts to leave Adir tells him to stop and asks him, " Duke Pan Cai, what would you think would happen to the kingdom if I were to suddenly disappear from the throne?" Pan Cai suddenly speaks " Your Majesty! There is no way that would happ......."
"Yeah, I know that too. Just answer what yours asked."
"Sorry Your Majesty. If you were to suddenly disappear as you say then if people didn't know then there may be peace maintained. But if they got to know the kingdom will be in unrest."
"Then don't tell them."
"Your Majesty you mean..."
"Take good care of this kingdom duke I am going out for a stroll."
And he was gone. Adir the ruler of Fellonia was gone. Just like that. "Your Majesty...." Pan Cai laughed. he kept laughing frantically till someone asked "Has he finally left?". In came the duke of Bormen city, Barrett and he knew the answer to the question as soon as he saw that grin on Pan Cai's face. Both of them knew that Adir had been planning for this day for 500 years. They remained silent, expanding their forces, waiting for the perfect time to act, the leader of the Pacifists, The dukes of Janpeng City and Bormen City, Pan Cai and Barrett.
"Finally, the day has come! I get to get out of this boring life and enjoy myself. Years of planning and appointing worthy people as dukes and barons, leaving the well-being of the kingdom in good hands, I can roam freely" said Adir to himself.
His 'meticulous' planning of putting people he saw as kind-hearted under his wing and training them to become powerful and leading figures of the kingdom was done and he could visit the places he spent his childhood in, the streets and villages of Fellonia.
Fellonia was divided in 4 kingdoms which were then divided into multiple town and cities. The kingdoms were divided by river bodies, but it didn't change the fact that their ruler remained the same. The Tamen kingdom served as the residing place for Adir. It was the biggest kingdom out of the four and located at the center.
The capital of Tamen, Orion, served as the gathering place of Fellonia's brightest stars and rising geniuses. Getting trained in Orion was one's childhood fantasy and working in Orion was a grown-up's dream job. It was said that if one could overshadow all the other geniuses present, they could receive training from Adir himself!
There are tons of different power levels used to measure a person's true strength. Some people train their body, some train their mind, controlling the elements, practicing cold weapons to muster their aura... Some don't even increase their own strength and rather focus on training monsters as their pets, but for Adir the power level of each person is simple:
Level 1: strength display above normal humans. Can break rocks and trees with bare hands easily.
Level 2: strength enough to stand against a bunch of level 1's, but still nothing extra special
Level 3: distinguished attainment in their path. If a mage, has learned spells that could level an entire city, if a swordsman then has achieved the state of being one with the sword.
Level 4: Power rivaling an entire city filled with level 3's. Almost above any mortal
Level 5: Rising above being mortal. Only achieved till now by Adir himself.
These levels served as benchmarks, as a person stronger than a level 1 but weaker than a level 2 could be judged as a level 1.x.
Most people in Fellonia struggle to reach level 3, while people of level 3 are awarded a title based on their achievements, and level 4 or exceptional level 3's being made the dukes of cities.
“Time to leave” said Adir as he teleported away to Darna, a kingdom south of Tamen.
Meanwhile, in Janpeng city, the house of Pan Cai.
“So, have you got what we need?”, Barrett asked eagerly, as if it was all just a good dreaming which would be over before he knew it.
“Don’t worry, here it is” said Pan Cai, as he took out an obsidian gem from a sword. This sword belonging to Adir.
“This reminds me of the day we crowned him the king, and he oh so foolishly allowed me to decorate his cherished sword just so it could represent his authority as a totem, little did he know that his cherished sword would be his first step towards his downfall”
Pan Cai giggled as he looked at the obsidian gem with passionate eyes and proceeded to take that gem and fit it inside a runic carving which seemed to be immeasurably old.
And thus began an event that would turn out to be more disastrous than the war termed “The End Of The World”, as people would learn how horrifying a glimpse of that term could be.
In the forests of Cyntra, Darna
“MOVE! MOVE!!! IT’S ALMOST HERE!”,
screamed Antonio as he, along with his teammates, ran for their lives
What did he do wrong? All he wanted to do was to earn for his family, make the village a safe place and strengthen himself, so none would ever look down upon him. Sure, he wasn’t gifted as an elementalist, but he practiced with the spear. He swung till he arms went sore, ran till his legs gave out, practiced with his elementalist friends and proved himself worthy of being an adventurer.
He prepared himself for his first big adventure, got great tools made by the best blacksmith in the village, teamed himself with the fire and wind elementalists. This wasn’t supposed to happen.
He was to go in the forest, hunt some goblins, and return with pride. Just why did he have to meet an orc? With his strength those puny goblins were a piece of cake but orcs, who were known for their high strength were just too much for his current self.
“But orcs weren’t supposed to be in this area of forest! Where are the goblins!?”, screamed Antonio, as no matter how much he tried to run he knew he couldn’t escape. Orcs were surrounding them as just when they were about to be completely surrounded, he received an answer..
“We didn’t leave human..”
Antonio was shocked. He madly looked around until his gaze landed upon a goblin which was supporting itself on a stick, with a gem sticking out of its chest as it continued to speak
“You humans are all so arrogant, sending weak ones to slaughter my kin as you take their corpses back with you
with a smug look on your face. Bah! Be sure to tell me how does it feel to get killed with no way to fight back.”
‘A goblin mage! IT WAS A GOBLIN MAGE!!!’ thought Antonio as his eyes opened wide, partly due to horror but mostly out of shock. The chances of there being a goblin mage out of goblins was similar to finding a needle in a haystack, with the last goblin mage being dead for decades! Yet one was right in front of him as it cackled in the joy of his demise.
As he saw his end approach him with his own eyes, he closed them as he began to relive the memories of his short life. ‘Sorry mom, your son failed you with his lack of talent as an elementalist, and is failing you again by not even being able to provide for you…’
Just as he was about to complete his final goodbyes, he noticed an eerie lack of sound. ‘Am I dead already..?’.
As he opened his eyes to see what was happening, he saw a blond young kid who looked as if he was 15, but with eyes that seemed to disagree.
He asked the blond kid, “Hey, wasn’t I in the forest just now? What is happening and who are you???” to which the blond kid replied, “Hello, I am Adir, I found you passed out here so I decided to wait till you got up, I recently moved here to search for work, wanna be friends?”
"He has left! He has really left!! I can't feel his presence there anymore! The king has finally left!", said a dark hooded man in a closed tavern.
"Shut up number seven, I know our leader prophesized this day to begin our march into the capital and take over the kingdom, but it doesn't mean you can spout your bullshit. Do you not know how the prophecies are always 10-14 days off? Let's wait, we have not even consolidated our forces yet." replied number four.
"Ah I can feel it, mm he is really not there, oh how excited I am to get in there and see that helpless look on the faces of those dukes!."
Number seven laughed wickedly, he could finally get his sweet revenge on those dukes who refused to hire him because of his personality and the nature of his power.
In the forests of Cyntra
Four young men could be seen sparring fiercely, but on a closer look one would realize that it wasn't the four men sparring, it was more of a 3v1.
"How do you do it?!", said one young man while throwing a fireball made out of thin air as he saw his target dodge with ease while dodging other attacks as well.
"It's simple really, you guys don't have many ways of attacking, and after a while there seems to be a pattern which is clearly recognizable and easy to predict."
"Oh really? Then dodge this!"
A fireball twice the size of the one thrown earlier seemed to appear at the hand of the young man
Whoosh!
"Kalmin, boost my fireball with your wind and Antonio use your spear to attack him from the other side!" commanded the young man Liam.
"Fine, here I go", replied Kalmin as his eyes seemed to turn green from their usual hazel brown. The nearby trees began to shake as something sort of a whirlwind seemed to form, Kalmin put his left hand out parallel with the ground, palm down. With his right hand, middle and ring fingers crossed, he made a slashing gesture at the palm of the left hand and then pointed at Adir while looking at the fireball.
The fireball instantly seemed to grow bigger and fiercer as it approached Adir with a speed double the previous one
"Look out" warned Anotonio as he gripped his spear and threw it with all his might towards Adir.
Swish!
The spear and fireball collided as the fireball was split into multiple lingering flames which died out almost as soon as they spread.
"Nice, you all are getting better with your teamwork." remarked Adir. 'It really is a big improvement from 10 days ago, when they were running away like a bunch of crybabies from some orcs and that mage.'
"Yeah yeah, but we still aren't able to even scratch you with our attacks. Until we are able to do so, I won't believe we have improved." said Antonio.
"Anyway, let's head back, that's enough for today, get some rest" said Adir as he began to head out.
"Where did you meet that monster, Antonio? Is he really as young as he looks, it's like we are fighting a ghost or something. One moment he's there and another he's gone!" said Kalmin, he had been friends with Antonio and Liam since before they awakened as elementalists and was surprised to see such a boy, who looked to be about as old as them, make light of them.
"I have told you already, he met me when I was guarding the entrance of the forests in case the goblins attacked."
"But that's weird too, goblins usually do not leave the forest, why would you think that day was any special?"
"Just know that we met there alright. That's how we got to know each other and that's it." said Antonio dismissively as he too started to head out of the forest at a fast pace with a slightly embarrassed expression.
"Hey wait for me!" screamed Liam as he started to run to catch up with Anotonio and Kalmin.
"Hey boys you're back." greeted Antonio's mom, Linda, as they arrived back at the village. Adir had built quite a good reputation in Cyntra, as during his time in the village, many if their problems had been solved.
He had taken up the job of gathering of food and resources from the forest, and ever since he started working there has been no casualty.
Miraculously their problem of less rain which caused them to gather water from a town far away had also been solved, as it seemed to rain as soon as Adir learnt of the problem. The villagers considered him as their goodluck charm and treated him with utmost hospitality.
In Linda's house-
"Mom, I think I will follow him, he says that there is much more to the path of a spearman and if I follow him I could become one of the best their is." said Antonio to his mom, with a face that was full of resolve.
"But son he isn't even that old and experienced! Don't just believe everything he says" commented Linda, worried that trusting someone so much whom he met 10 days ago might lead him to disappointment and pain.
"Me along with everyone doesn't even come close to leaving a scratch on him! Even if I do not become the very best their is, I would be happy enough being as strong as him." said Antonio with eyes that seemed to say he wouldn't take no for an answer.
"Fine, you can follow him, but take care of yourself. I do not want you taking unnecessary risks just because he says so and getting yourself hurt. okay?!"
"Yes mom I will take care of myself and come back stronger than ever!" replied Antonio excitedly as he could tread the path of spear with guidance as this time he would give it his all.
Antonio packed his stuff and went towards Adir's place of stay as on his way he met his two friends.
"Did you manage to convince your parents too?" asked Antonio as he recieved two nods for replies. Soon they reached Adir.
"So you've made up your minds huh?" said Adir as he saw the three young man approaching with determined faces. Just as they were about to reach him Adir called out, "Wait! I have something to tell you."
