Shit I’m already late on my first day.

Hi, my name is Mei Hinata as you can tell by my name, I am Japanese however I was born and raised in England so I haven’t really kept touch i my Japanese. Anyways, I am supposed to have started my first day work after graduating university, but apparently I forgot to set my alarm, so I am a good 25 minutes…. I need to literally run I don’t want to make my boss hate me on my first day.

Sh*t I am so so late thankfully I live close to work but I cannot believe I didn’t set my alarm. I quickly run into the company whilst sorting out my skirt so I look presentable.

“Hey are you Miss. Hinata the CEOs new secretary?”

Secretary, I wasn’t told I was going to be his secretary. I’m not sure on the person you’re looking for I’m sorry I’m just supposed to be in the media department I was told.

“ Unfortunately, that spot was filled up and looking at your resume. You are a better fit for the secretary because of your speaking skills and intelligence”

What? Oh my God, this changes everything I am late on the first day as a secretary for the CEO. I am screwed. I’m not making passed the first day. What do I do? I’m going to get fired.

“ Luckily for you, the CEO is not here yet before he does get here. I need to tell you about him so you don’t embarrass yourself”

Okay thank you so much for helping me I am so sorry about the mixup until now. I have no idea I was going to be a secretary.

“ Honestly it’s fine, it will take a while, so let’s it down. Firstly you need to go with me his name is Alec De Luca we call him Sir Alec because of how long his last name is, it’s a mouthful to say but it’s really up to you what you wanna call him.“

Is he Italian De Luca?, I kind of like it.

“ Secondly, he is 24 to be completely honest. He seems like he is in his 40s with his personality is not a very approachable person to put it lightly. “

Before one of my coworkers can tell me more about him, a 6 foot five, black haired, stallion walks in. He is wearing all black suit with red tie and matching red shoes to go with the tie. Before I can mentally prepare myself, he walks towards my direction and stops right in front of me.

“Miss Hinata? You’re my new secretary… correct?”

Y-yes Sir De Luca I could barely get my words out. He is so intimidating are usually don’t get shy or intimidated by guys or anyone in general, but he is different especially when he started talking. I literally couldn’t think no words were coming up in my mind, it was completely blank.

“ come with me, I have some work for you to do” he said in a monotone voice.

Yes, sir, I followed him blindly into his office he shut the door behind him and rest his hand on his desk. He doesn’t say anything, I don’t say anything I don’t know what to say could I say?

“ how old are you? Where are you and how are your living arrangements”

Sorry what?

“Do you need me to repeat myself, I don’t like repeating myself so answer my question.”

I’m sorry. My name is Mei Hinata I am Japanese but I was born and Raised here in England and for my Living arrangements, I live on my own in an apartment in london.

“Okay thank you now was that so hard to say?”

No sir it wasn’t. I feel humiliated he’s treating me like a child and I hate it. Is this some sort of sick punishment for being late? It’s not like he knew considering he himself was late too.

“You can leave for today, don’t worry you will get a full days pay. Make sure tomorrow you’re here EARLY because on time is late and early is on time”

Thank you sir, I say with a frown god, I hate it here already he has a stink attitude. he already hates me god I don’t know what to do, should I just quit, I don’t think I can even last a week being his secretary.

Ugh, whatever I’m just going to go home and relax because tomorrow I start at 7am. Luckily, he sent me home not even 2 hours into my shift so I can prepare everything for tomorrow. Wait, do I have his contact details? Probably not, I will just ask for them tomorrow I can’t be bothered to stress about it now.

I need to start getting ready for bed. I do not want to be late to work again. What is his problem though? I generally do not understand. I mean I guess works can be very stressful for him because he’s a CEO and all of that but being rude to the new employer is a bit too much but I can’t judge I don’t know what he’s going through, if he’s going through something.

10 hours later…

My alarm rings. It is so damn loud I don’t know why I keep setting that alarm. I could’ve picked any tune and I picked the most annoying one. I can’t even blame anyone else which is the problem. At least I’m not going to be late to work today. In fact, I think I’m gonna be really early which is what I need to be.

Mei starts to pick up clothes for work. The criteria is formal of course and I have a contract that she got yesterday. She has to wear something red she doesn’t know why but she has a lot of red suitable for work so she put on her Red heels and gets herself to work on time.

God, I cannot believe I am here on time thank you I was talking to think being late is my thing. Right so today I’m going to ask for his contact details and I need to get him a black coffee with two sugars that should be easy.

I knock on the door of Mr De Lucas office and I don’t hear anyone. Before I walk in I knock again and I hear Sir. Alec’s voice.

“Yes, my new secretary starts today mum she going to get here soon I’m hanging up, bye love you”

God, my mother can be too much sometimes, always worrying about me and as much as I appreciate it, it can be stressful.

Mr Alec hangs up the phone, it’s my chance to walk in. I knock on the door.

“Come in Miss. Hinata, I’ve been waiting for you”

Before I walk in, I am mentally preparing myself for him to shout at me. I don’t wanna think negatively of my new boss however, I have heard things already and it is only my second day let’s just hope he’s in a good mood.

I walk into his office and he is staring at me. I’m not sure if it is in a positive way or a negative way however, I’m not going to let it bring me down.

“How are you this morning?”

I’m good thank you just a bit tired, didn’t sleep much but I brought you a coffee, black with only 2 sugars

“I didn’t even have to ask you to get me that coffee, thank you anyways, what is on my schedule for today Miss, Hinata?”

For today, you have a meeting at 8:30am and after that you need to visit the new office in West london and lastly, you need to approve of the design departments new ideas. All together, your day should finish at 4.pm

“ okay thank you Miss. Hinata, I will call you when it’s time for my meeting or just come here.

okay, thank you bye.

God that was so nerve racking. I was so scared he was going to say something to me about what I was wearing or about my posture or something little, but he didn’t. I’m surprised but the same time I don’t really know him so this could be how he’s actually like.

“ why do you so happy after coming out of office usually, his past secretaries would walk out crying he must have taken a liking to you because that is so weird”

Really I’ve never really gotten a vibe like he’s a bad person per se he seems alright maybe when he was talking to the other secretaries, he was in a bad mood or they did something for him to act like that everything happens for a reason anyways, I have to go. I need to do some paperwork for the meeting.

“ oh before you go, are you coming to your welcoming dinner?”

“Welcoming dinner? I was not aware that I was having a welcoming dinner no one said anything about it until now? Will see I’m not sure, but I really have to go.”

I walk off and make my way to my desk. I remember one thing from that conversation, his other secretaries came out of his office crying There must be a reason for that because he doesn’t seem like a bad person he would intentionally make someone mad or sad. Maybe they had a thing for him and didn’t reciprocate feelings and told them how it is. I don’t know either way to me right now he doesn’t seem like a coldhearted person. Everyone deemed him to be.

I have an hour and 10 minutes to get all of these notes taken down and I don’t want to miss anything so I need to crack on.

“ hey Miss Hinata, Mr Alec is calling you his office”

Oh shoot, thank you so much. I’m going to be on my way right now. I’m so confused I’m supposed to be doing paperwork for the meeting and taking notes. I hope he’s not mad at me for something.

I’ll make my way to his office again. This time. I am scared on the first day been called back to his office. I’m hoping he just wants another coffee.

Mr Alec I’m coming in now! Hey, what is that you needed me for sir?

“ yeah sorry to bother you. I know you’re working on some stuff for the meeting in an hour but is it okay if you could get me some more paper I run out and I need to take some notes as well”

Of course, I’ll be right back with a paper, I’m assuming you’d want lined paper sir?

“ Any paper it’s fine, I can write on plain paper as well, but if there is lined paper that would be more preferred. Thank you.”

Okay well I’ll be back in five minutes with your paper.

Oh my God that had me shaking I had no idea whether or not he was going to say something bad about me or if he had something to complain about, but I’m glad it was just so I can get him some paper.

5 minutes later

I’m coming in Mr Alec I have the paper for you. They had lined paper so I got that for you and also I noticed that you’ve finished your coffee so I went out of my way to get you that too if that is okay .

“ I was just about to ask you to get me a coffee so I appreciate it thank you. You can get back to work now”

Will do I will be back in 45 minutes to take you to the meeting.

So far, I am very much enjoying being a secretary, but like I said this is just my first official day so anything could happen. I really need to finish this notes taken that I need to do before the meeting I do not want to disappoint him or get on his bad side.

After the meeting

Okay, Mr Alec next we have your office tour in West London that we need to go to. Don’t worry it starts at 12 pm so we could make a way there slowly.

“ thank you for letting me know we could leave now so we could get there earlier is there anyone who could drive a car available?”

Actually about that I looked for someone who is available to drive, and unfortunately no one right now can drive you to West London. However I do have a license and I own a car, so I could do the driving if you do not mind.

“ I appreciate you offering to drive, but I will drive”

Oh okay, sorry we should get in the car and go now we don’t wanna be late. We need to get there early so we’re on time.

Alec’s point of view

I’m driving to the destination where the new office is going to be. It’s all the way in West London so it’s going to be a 30 minute drive. I don’t mind to drive personally but I’m not sure how the new secretary is going to feel about it, not my business anyways.

Two hours later, we finish the tour around the new office and honestly I like it obviously there could be a few bits and pieces that I would want to be changed. However from what it looks like right now, I don’t particularly hate it.

“ sir, we have about half an hour to get back to the main office and then you need to have a look at the designs from the design department.”

Yes, thank you, Miss Hinata. My new secretary is good. She pays attention and she does everything on time which I appreciate because my other secretaries needed to be told to do things. This is her first day so I am going to try to not go hard on her.

We made it back to the main office and I am on my way to the design department. I hate going here because one of the employees whom I could fire has had a thing for me for four years and she just won’t give up so hopefully she doesn’t do anything. Stupid whilst I am there.

“Hey Alec how are you? How have you been?”

Call me Mr Alec, you are my employee and I am your boss stick to the rules or we’re going to have problems. I can’t stay for conversation I need to do my job. Thank you

I walk off the problem is she doesn’t listen. I don’t understand why she cannot take no for an answer. Once she tried to seduce me in my office at that point that should’ve been the breaking point for me to fire. But it is quite unfortunate. She is the best in my design department.

An hour later I finally finish work, my secretary is packet of things to go home as well. I need to speak to have a second before she does.

Hey Miss Jones, can you please bring Miss Hinata to my office?

“ yes I’ll do it right now”

I’m sure she has heard things about my personality and I don’t blame everyone for thinking like that. Everyone has bad days right but the new secretary is good.

“ hi sir you needed me”

Yes, I did, before you leave. I just wanted to tell you that you did good today and I appreciate you being on time. I just wanted to say I know there are things about me going around the office saying I’m cold hearted and I guess on most days I can be, but I have a lot of shit going on in my personal life, so if I am ever in a bad mood, it is nothing personal, I only have one wall for my secretaries. And I’m only saying this because it has happened every single time I got one.

I really don’t wanna spring this upon her because she probably doesn’t even feel anything romantically for me, but I have to say it is stupid that I have to, but at this point I need to

you’re not allowed to fall in love with me, seems very narcissistic I know but I’ve had to file six secretaries because of this situation and rumours started flying around and my father. The founder of this business was not very pleased about it so I’m sorry to spring this upon you, I know you probably have literally no feelings for me but I need to say it unfortunately.

“ oh okay, thank you for letting me know and telling me I haven’t heard that around the office. Everyone just says that you’re not a good person so I just assumed so sorry for thinking that but I will take that into consideration sir I’m going to go now”

5 months later…

I’m supposed to be having a business trip today with Mei my secretary, and honestly I really do not want to go with her. It’s nothing bad on her end I just bought together don’t really like people and the fact I have to go on a business trip with a person is kind of uncomfortable, but she’s my secretary so she kind of has go with me. I guess I have to start packing for the trip. It’s going to be three days long, so I need to bring three days worth of clothes and definitely books. Well it’s time for me to leave. I am not excited for this trip at all.

Mei Pov:

So I got a text from my boss and apparently I am going on a business trip with him now I’ve heard about him and business trips with his past secretaries. He absolutely hated them. Understandable considering every single girl who is a secretary and a guy literally fell in love with him, I understand it would’ve been very stressful for him. But luckily for him I am not like that and he has 100%. Not my type. I prefer a respectful guy who doesn’t push me around all the time.

It’s been five months since I started the job I don’t hate it, but again he hasn’t been the best to me.

I need to start packing we’re gonna be there for three nights so I guess I need to pack things for tonight because I can just wear the same thing I wore there, on my way back.

Alecs Pov:

I make it to my office with my bag, full of clothes for the business trip Mei told me that she’s going to be here in five minutes I need to prepare myself.

5 Minutes later

“Mr Alec, I am here. Can I come in”

I hear her voice from behind the door and I shout

Yes, come in please . She walked in as I finish my sentence I haven’t seen her in her out door clothes.

Meis Pov:

These past few weeks has been literally traumatic ever since my first day of work. He has got it more Snarky and rude, so hopefully this trip is going to smooth things out with us.

Um hello sir.

He doesn’t reply. All he does is stare at me and goes “mhm”. He doesn’t even speak to me anymore, he just gives me a look. It is very frustrating. I thought about quitting so many times, but I can’t I need to get through this.

These past few weeks have been literally garbage I don’t even know why I need to have a secretary I don’t like her do I have a specific reason no I don’t but I just don’t have her vibe is really weird. It’s good that she doesn’t like me romantically, but I just don’t like how she is.

Oi we need to get going now hurry up.

We’re making our way to my car and because of the lack of chauffeurs, I have to actually drive her there, which I have been hating taken her to have a faces because I don’t want to be near her.

After a two hour and a half drive and make it to our destination. Of course, it’s going to be awkward as much as I don’t want to talk to her. The awkwardness is making me angry.

Are you are you going to talk at some point or are you gonna sit and look like an idiot?

I say to her I know it’s mean I can’t help it, but maybe if I act like this she won’t get the wrong intentions.

Here he goes again, calling me an idiot, I don’t know what’s wrong with him or what I did to him. I generally don’t understand what his is issue is he hasn’t voice to me that I did something wrong, and I’m most definitely not falling in love with him so he just wants to be a **** without a reason, seems about right.

Sir, I’m going to put my stuff in the room and I’m gonna be back down. I say he turned to me and said “ you don’t need to voice everything you are doing, just hurry up and get down here”

I sigh loudly he probably heard me, but I just don’t understand it is getting very frustrated, not know what his problem is.

Mei went upstairs finally, and I have the information about her that I didn’t get to look at so I can finally do that. I open the file and I’m reading the first paragraph into my shock. She is the daughter of the rival company. Why would she come here? Maybe she is here for her father if so, I can’t let her go to any of the meetings.

And I am livid I cannot believe I ended up hiring someone who could be a spy I don’t know what to do now the only reasonable thing to do is to fire her. I hear footsteps she’s coming back. I need to ask her about this now before we do anything.

Mei I need to speak to you so I’ve been looking through your file because I didn’t get to do that before you actually became my secretary but now I am going to ask you a question.

Is your dad’s name no Captain come Kazuki Hinata because if your answer is yes, we might have some problems.

“ yes he’s my dad why I don’t see a problem with my dad and I don’t really have a choice so what is the problem”

He is the rival company to ours and you’re working with us why? Why not work with your dad’s company he would’ve let you in easy I mean you’re his daughter, he probably could pay for you to get in.

“ sorry intrude me being rude but why would you ask such a personal question and then attack me like that I’m done I don’t wanna go on a business trip with you I’m leaving you could do this yourself see you in four days”

And she walks off just like that, as much as I understand why she did that it is very unprofessional for her. I did go too far. I can’t do anything about it now. I just have to get through these three days and try to apologise at least. This is going to be a long three days.

3 days later…

I’m waiting outside for my chauffeur. I’ve been waiting out here for half an hour now and no one has showed up I’m livid and I’m tired. I didn’t get to sleep the night before I was staying up thinking of an apology I don’t ever do apologise because I’m never wrong so the fact that there is a chance I am incorrect is weird.

Before I tried to call the office again, a car pulled up it is Mei, I have no idea what she is doing here, but she drove 2 1/2 hours to collect me know. I’m not sure what her do you live, but I appreciate it none of the less.

“ I thought no one would be here to collect you, so I drove my way here and I just wanted to let you know that the reason I’m not working at my dad‘s company is because I am banished from the family.”

Banished, why would they banish you? That makes absolutely no sense is there a reason? . God, this is the first time I’ve ever felt like an idiot.

“ well, actually, if you would like to know the reason why they vanished from the family was because I want to work for your company instead of theirs”

Shit, I’m sorry I didn’t know I’m such an idiot I have a really bad trust issues. The reason why I went through the Fire and acted like that was because one of my secretaries was from a revival company and it ruined everything so the fact that it happened again was stressful, and I apologise about the things I said.

“ I understand, understand how stressful running a business could be, especially a business so successful you like yours you don’t need to stress about it”

How about, I take you out to eat something it’s not gonna be anything too much, I’ll just take you out to eat something and we can get to know each other as coworkers.

“ yeah I would like that, but we need to hurry up because you need to do something at the office first”
