The Apartment 24th Floors
Episode 1
It was a hot summer night and Jake and Lisa were struggling to find something to do.
They had already watched all their favorite movies and played every board game in their collection.
As they sat on the couch, flipping through channels on the television, Jake had an idea.
Jake
Hey, what do you say we go on an adventure?
Lisa
An adventure? What do you mean?
Jake
I saw this building downtown with an apartment on the 24th floor. It looks like it's never been lived in.
Jake
I bet it would be cool to explore it and see what it's like.
Lisa
I don't know, Jake. That sounds kind of risky. What if we get caught or something goes wrong?
Jake
Come on, Lisa, it'll be a rush! We'll be like burglars in the night!
Lisa
I don't know, Jake. That seems really risky. What if we get caught?
Jake
We won't get caught. We'll be in and out before anyone even knows we were there. Plus, think of the story we'll have to tell afterwards. It'll be epic.
Lisa
I don't know... breaking and entering is a serious crime. We could get in a lot of trouble.
Jake
Oh, come on. Live a little. It's not like we're stealing anything. We'll just take a look around and then leave. It'll be a fun adventure.
Lisa
I don't know... I don't want to get into trouble.
Jake
Come on, Lisa. I promise we'll be careful. Plus, I really want to do this. Please?
Lisa
Ugh, fine. But if we get caught, you're taking the fall.
Jake
Now let's go check out that apartment on the 24th floor.
Episode 2
Jake and Lisa manage to pick the lock and enter the apartment.
They hear a noise coming from the bedroom and investigate
Jake
Alright, we're in. Let's take a look around.
Lisa
I don't know about this, Jake. This feels really wrong.
They flee the apartment and are left with no phones or way to call for help.
Jake
Come on, Lisa. We're just taking a look. It's not like we're stealing anything.
Lisa
I know, I know. But what if someone catches us?
Jake and Lisa turn and flee, barely escaping the apartment and the menacing figure inside
Jake
We'll be out of here before anyone even knows we were here. Now let's check out the bedroom.
Lisa
I don't like this. It feels creepy.
Jake
Don't be such a scaredy-cat. It'll be fine.
Within a few minutes, they had successfully picked the lock and were inside.
Lisa felt a rush of excitement mixed with nervousness.
Lisa
We shouldn't stay long.
The apartment was empty, with no furniture or personal belongings in sight.
Lisa
We don't want to get caught.
Jake and Lisa explored the rooms, marveling at the high-end finishes and breathtaking view of the city from the floor-to-ceiling windows.
As they approach the bedroom door, they hear a noise coming from inside
Lisa
Yes, I hear it. Let's get out of here. This is a bad idea.
Jake
Just hold on. Let's see what it is.
As they peek into the bedroom, they see a figure sitting up in bed, holding a knife.
Lisa
I told you this was a bad idea!
Jake and Lisa arrived at the building and made their way up to the 24th floor. They found the door to the apartment and Jake pulled out a set of tools he had brought with him.
Episode 3
Jake
What the heck was that?
Lisa
I don't know, but I think we need to get out of here right now.
They turn and run, barely escaping the apartment and the figure.
Jake
Yeah, you're right. Let's go.
Jake and Lisa ran down the street, their hearts pounding in their chests.
Lisa
Oh my god, it's coming after us!
Jake
Don't look back, just keep running!
As they run down the hallway, they hear the figure behind them, chasing after them.
Jake
We made it. We're safe.
Lisa
Thank God. That was the scariest thing I've ever experienced.
Jake
Yeah, me too. But at least we got out of there alive.
As they catch their breath, they realize they have no phones and nowhere to go
Lisa
Now what? We don't have our phones and it's the middle of the night. We have no way to call for help.
Jake
We'll find a payphone. There has to be one around here somewhere. Come on, let's go.
Lisa
Where are we going to find a payphone?
Jake
I don't know, but we have to try.
Jake and Lisa flee into the night, searching for a way to call for help
They turned a corner and saw a payphone a few blocks away.
They could hear the figure from the apartment behind them, chasing them through the deserted streets.
They ran towards it, but as they reached it, they saw the figure from the apartment emerge from the shadows.
Lisa
Oh no, they found us!
Jake grabbed her hand and pulled her down a side street, searching for somewhere to hide.
They darted into an alleyway and crouched behind a dumpster, trying to catch their breath.
Lisa
What are we going to do?
Jake looked around, trying to come up with a plan.
Suddenly, he spotted an old payphone hanging on the wall.
He ran over to it and picked up the receiver.
To their surprise, it still had a dial tone.
Jake
We can call for help!
He quickly dialed the police and explained their situation.
The operator instructed them to stay hidden until help arrived.
Jake
We have to stay quiet and out of sight.
Jake
They'll be here soon.
As they waited in the dark alleyway, Jake and Lisa had no idea the twists and turns their adventure would take before the night was through.
