It is a Monday afternoon, Arabella just got finished with work, on her way to her apartment, where her and her husband Ben live. Ben is the type of husband who lives of the person who he is in a relationship with he can be dirty sometimes, but most of all he has a way with words which is why Arabella loves him.

“ hey babe, I’m home”

No one replies she knows Ben is home because his shoes are at the front door.

“ hello babe, are you here I can see your shoes the ones that you usually wear?”

Still no reply, Arabella questions where he is before she tried to call him .

*ring ring*

She rings him five times. However, no one picks up the phone. She calls him again, but walking towards the bedroom and what she can hear changes her life and views on relationships forever.

“ what are you doing Ben and who is that“

Eyes go black, skin turns pale. Have vision is blurred but what she can see in front of her is adultery. They have been together for five years that was her second serious relationship after the one she had with Chase.

“ I cannot believe you are cheating on me. We have been married for for two years in together for five. I cannot believe you get out of my house now”

“ no you’re misunderstanding babe I promise it’s not what it looks like”

“Oh, so tell me Ben, what does it look like? what were you doing with that woman who is ***** in my bed? the fact that you didn’t even respect me enough to cheat somewhere else, but cheat in my house not even your house you don’t pay rent, my house”

“Fuck, I can’t even look at you right now do you have five minutes to leave my house and pack up all of your things I will be changing the locks and my number leave.”

Just as she turns away from the bedroom, she goes back and says one last thing.

“ oh, and also tell that woman to get out to, and immediately. I am disgusted in you”

Arabella tries to hold her anger and emotions in, so he doesn’t see her at her weak point.

Five minutes later, the woman who he cheated on her with walked out the house as if nothing happened.

10 minutes later….

“You are taking an awfully long time to get out of my house. I don’t want to see you get out what it’s gonna be so much more worse for you.”

“ okay okay I’m leaving you need to calm yourself“ Ben said angrily

“ sorry, excuse me calm myself? Calm myself after I just caught you cheating with me what is the point of being in a relationship if you cannot stay loyal, you are really good at multitasking because I did not see it coming at all now leave” Arabella replies.

“ not everything is about you, you know”

“ however, in this case everything is about me you cheated on me but it’s okay because I’m sending you the divorce papers and you better sign it. If you don’t I will go and find you”

“ don’t you worry, I will sign the divorce papers thank God I did what I did“

The door slams behind him, and before she could even make it away from the door, she breaks down, or she’s hoping is that he doesn’t hear her cries.

“ I cannot believe a five year relationship is over just like that I cannot believe it. I am gutted I am angry disappointed I feel so stupid for not knowing that he was doing that behind my back in my house”

Tears fly down Arabella’s eyes. She is moaning and crying, praying to God that this is a dream.

She wiped away Her tears.

“ I refused to stay here right now I need to book a hotel or something and get that bed removed. I’m not sleeping in the bed.”

Arabella put her shoes back on grabs her handbag while she is hurrying out of the house.

“ crap what do I do now I don’t know what to do with myself. I’ve been in a five year relationship and before that a three year relationship put the difference between Ben and The guy I was with in high school was actually loyal. Crap I feel stupid”

“today, I’m going to spend time with myself and I will be okay. I don’t need to rely on anyone so I will look at it as a good thing that he cheated on me.”

For Entire day, Arabella spent time walking around in town shopping for herself buying herself a new bed. Just spending time to reflect on what happened.

“ damn I shopped a lot today. I haven’t really eaten and I’m going to go to Starbucks and get myself something to eat and drink.” Arabella says with a smile on her face.

Arabella walks into her local Starbucks and orders herself, a large, caramel frappuccino and two scones well, she waits for her order, she looks around and see is couples her face drops, and she is reminded of the fact today she got her now ex-husband cheating.

“ God, I really wish there weren’t so many couples in here. I feel like crap, but there’s nothing really. I could do about the situation, so I just Got to live my life.“

“ frappuccino order with two scones for Arabella”

“ hi yes that’s me thank you”

Arabella walks towards the cashier, who took her order to get her drink off of him.

She frantically makes a way out of Starbucks to get away from all the couples, and suddenly she bumped into a hard chest.

“Shit oh my god I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to get my drink when you wait. Let me go and get a tissue” Arabella apologetically shouts.

She looks up, and in her alone, she sees a 6’4 tall Tan, looking man in a suit.

“ wait Chase? Chase Nightingale is that you”

Arabella’s mouth opens wide. She freezes no movement at all just shock.

“ don’t tell me you’re Arabella Black I have not seen you in six years. How are you doing?”

“ wait so you are change my finger you’re so tall. No I haven’t seen you since we were 19 when did you get so tall?” Arabella questions

“ Hahaha right after we broke up in six form because you were going to university and I was going to abroad for business. I’ve got really tall during that time.”

“Shit, that’s crazy I hope you’re doing Surely you have a girlfriend there’s no way you don’t”

“ me, no I haven’t had time for that and since we dated I haven’t been able to get to know anyone else so”

“ so not even one night stand”

“ I’ve had a few of those, but like I said I’ve been working on my business so it doesn’t really concern me. I don’t really care about that stuff right now. Surely you are in a relationship mean you’re gorgeous”

“ well technically I am, but today I caught him cheating in my house in my bed so I sent him the divorce papers said no I’m not in a relationship now but I was in a five year one”

“ Cheating on you oh my God, what delusional man were you married to Arabella?”

“ his name was Ben Bradley Unfortunately I chose to be married to a douche bag words really do pull you when do they?”

“Wait so you’re telling me you were in a five year relationship and we haven’t seen each other in seven years you started dating him two years after we broke up I am hot I can’t believe you could replace me that easily”

“ hey, it’s not my thought you couldn’t find anyone else” Arabella jokingly says

“ I mean evidently you are correct, but that is not the point I am offended“

“ I mean, if it makes you feel better clearly this relationship did not work between me and Ben“

“ should I be respectful and say no, it doesn’t make me feel better, but you couldn’t find anyone as great as I was, or should I say I told you so“ chase jokingly replies

“ either way chase. I hope you’re doing well and you mentioned you’re business correct?”

“ yes my business, what about it?”

“ what is the name of this so-called business that you are currently running?“

“ hey, don’t down play me I am the CEO and founder of the business and it is nightingales winery”

“ no way, tell me you’re joking”

“ you’ve heard of it, no way“ Chase, shockingly, says

“ heck, yeah it is my favourite place to get my wine. They have it all over town it’s incredible I should’ve put two and two together”

“ so what do you do for a living? I remember years ago you tell me how you want to be a designer“

“ I am, I’m a professional interior, designer and fashion designer I went to university for both so now I design, celebrities, apartments and houses and I work with companies to dress again, more celebrities“

“ wow so we both got a dream jobs done that’s nice to know and I’m proud of you for working hard to get where you are now“

“ thank you chase I could say the same thing to you. You worked abroad and you went to university abroad, Just to chase your dream.”

“ yep, anything is possible if you put your mind to it“ chase said

“ since we haven’t seen each other in six years, do you wanna go out for dinner? Just so we can catch up?” Arabella suggested

“ well right now I have to go to obviously clean up the frappuccino off my suit and then after that I have a meeting however I am free after 5 pm if you want to do it then?”

“ again, sorry about the frappuccino incident and yeah I need to change my bed because I refuse to sleep on that bed and I’ll be done by 5:20-ish. I’m not sure how I’m going to sort out the bed myself but I’ll figure it out”

“ I mean if you want I could help you build the bed I have nothing better to do and again we should catch up” chase, said with a smirk on his face

“ okay cool let’s do it. I’ll see you at 5:20, but before you go I might need to get your number“

“ oh shoot, yeah we almost didn’t get each other’s number“

They gave each other one another’s number, and both walked away from where they were going until 7 hours later when they have to meet up

“Wow, I cannot believe I bumped into my ex boyfriend Chase Nightingale He looks so handsome now”

Arabella got home and she starts getting ready for Chase to come over to help her with her bedroom. She decided to clean the entire house, getting rid of any trace of her ex-husband Ben.

“ God answered my prayer. I cannot believe I’ve not only gotten rid of Ben who is cheating on me, but I’ve also bumped into my high school sweetheart.“

A smile creeps up on Arabella’s face. She loves astrology and anything to do with soulmates and to her. This is a sign that good things are going to happen for now on.

“ okay, so I’ve got rid of 99% of things that either belongs to Ben. That reminds me of him now I just need to make some coffee and wait”

Four hours had passed and it is leading up to 5:30. Arabella starts to get nervous because the passage whom she dated seven years ago is coming round her house to help her and to catch up.

Before today, she didn’t think that she would ever see him again they never made plans to meet up after six form or anything. She just thought it was a goodbye forever.

“ Ugh, I hope I don’t look a mess I do not want to give him bad impressions of me.”

*ding dong*

The doorbell rang Arabella walked towards the door and looked through the eye hole, and there he was chased Nightingale 6’4, you can barely see his face. The only thing you can see is his neck, his Adam’s apple poking through before she could open the door, he bends down and looked into the eyehole and smirks deviously.

Arabella blushes out of embarrassment and makes a way to the door handle to open the door she takes a deep breath before opening it.

“ Jesus Christ Chase. you scared me there was literally no need for that” she jokingly says.

“ hey, it’s not my fault, you are standing at the door for two minutes, not letting me in” chase replies

“ okay I guess that’s fair enough welcome but take off your shoes, I have slippers I can get you.”

Arabella Hurries off into the closet of the bathroom to bring, Chase some shoes. Chase start to wonder around her apartment.

“Shit, she wasn’t joking when she said that she is a professional what she does. This apartment is amazing, never fought in 1 million years she would get as far as she is now I’m proud of her”

Arabella walks in with slippers, and before she walks towards chase with them, she admires the tall man whose shoes today looking out of her glass windows. In her head, she is thinking that she could’ve had this if they stayed in contact. I’ve been together for nine years if they didn’t break up and it makes her upset.

To herself, Arabella says “ This is just reminding me that today I caught mine has been cheating on me.”

“ oh you’re here Arabella, I was just wondering around I’m glad that you made a living for yourself the apartment looks”

Arabella doesn’t answer him. He notices tears streaming down her eyes. And he walks towards her with a Lightfoot.

“ Hey Bella, are you okay?” chase concerningly asks

It’s a silent, she doesn’t answer him, and without hesitation, chase walks towards her, and pause it in for a hug, whispering in her ear. “ Hey whatever

you’re upset and crying about you can talk to me. I’m here now.“

Arabella looks at him and starts to cry, as if it’s just her home now that she is out of a Five-year relationship.

“ I don’t want to be a burden to you. We came here to catch up not to see me cry“ Arabella says whilst tears are falling down her hours.

“ Bella, you know I don’t care about that if you’re crying of course I’m gonna be here for you I do understand it might be hard to open up to me after I suddenly left and we didn’t have contact with each other but I’m here now”

“ none of that is your fault we broke up it was mutual there was no hate towards us. It’s okay it’s not that it’s just a fact that 48 hours ago I had everything I wanted, and now I have nothing. I mean for God sake, I had to buy a new bed because my husband is cheating on me with another woman on it. How pathetic”

“ Bella, that’s not pathetic you’re not pathetic it’s understandable and let’s just say you won’t have to worry about him anymore“

She looks intensely in his eyes with confusion .

“ what do you mean I don’t have to worry about him anymore?”

“ Okay before you think anything no I do not kill him. He just don’t live in England anymore”

Arabella giggles “ I wasn’t thinking that you killed him chase but that wouldn’t be such a bad idea”

“ oh, thinking about it now maybe killing him will it be in a better option for me?“ Chase sarcastically, said.

They both break out in laughter for a five minutes it’s just silence, no one speaks, all you can hear is their hearts beating.

“ so explain it to me Bella what was your relationship with Ben like?”

“ well looking back now it was definitely a red flag. I was the one who paid for the wedding. He obviously chipped in a little bit but to be completely honest he didn’t have a stable job”

“ and you stayed with him?”

“ of course I did I loved him, and when I was at my lowest when my parents died in a car accident-“

Chase cuts over his eyes widen.

“ wait your parents died. When was this?”

“ well it was four years today before I got home and caught him cheating I was at their grave”

“ are you serious? Oh my God, I’m so sorry after we sort out your bed and stuff I want to go and see them“

“ yeah when I found out he was the only one there physically that helped me so I guess I was kind of manipulated into thinking. He actually cared about me but anyways I paid for most of the stuff and he didn’t have a house. I paid off his debt. It was a way of me being thankful to him for being there for me.”

“ wow, and even after all of that he still went out of his way to cheat on you know when that he probably wouldn’t find anyone as good as you“

“ oh, I’m flattered for the compliment, but apparently I am not that good if someone could just cheat on me like that you know“

“ Bella, I would say I do you know, but I personally do not because. I never cheated on you. I don’t know how anyone could cheat on you”

“ me neither, but things happen anyways like I was saying looking back it was quite toxic. He would barely answer my texts and he was very possessive at first. I thought it was in a cute romantic way, but I wasn’t even allowed to go out in a dress”

“ Arabella, are you telling me you stayed with someone like that? You know I care about you It might not seem like it cause I was away for a very long time. However you stayed with someone that you hated in high school“

“ I know I feel so stupid I was just swayed by his acts of service, you know that’s my love language.”

It goes silent none of them talk, but chimes, are ticking in chases head.

“ chase, I know that look, please don’t do anything stupid“

“ I won’t to do anything stupid, but I feel sick talking about him, so can we please sort out what you wanted to sort out?”

“ yes please, let’s do that”
