Calvina's

This is the worst morning ever in my life. Who wants to know why. I will still tell you guys. So I woke up this morning and my favorite coffee was not done I ignored. My dad called and told me there was going to be an emergency family meeting cool right. My little sister too called and told me that she needs help with her cheating boyfriend and my best friend Andrew also wants to accompany me to the family meeting since he's considered part of the family.

I'm rambling a lot but I've not introduced myself. My name's Calvina Williams am 25 and the CEO of my family's business. Yes so I'm fucking rich and I'm also a tomboy. So I was on my way to work with my bike when some crazy guy nearly run me over. I stopped my bike and walked towards his Benz and the dimwit also got out.

"Hey. What the **** was that?"

"I should be asking you that question. You were speeding up like a crazy idiot."

"I was following the signs you were the one rushing on the street as if hell broke loose."

"Its pointless talking to you. I'm going to work."

With that he entered his car and drove off. What an idiot. I also walked to my bike and arrived at work. When I got to my office my secretary Lisa came to meet me.

"Good morning Cal."

"Morning Lisa. What's today's schedule?"

"You have a meeting with Drones company at 10,a meeting with Andrew's company at 2pm and some paperwork to sign."

"Thanks Lisa you are a lifesaver. Is my coffee in my office?"

"Yes Cal. Have a blast"

I turned on my laptop and prepared my business plan to present to Drones company for their partnership.

Xavier

Work over I packed my bags and was about to go to my place when my dad called.

"Hey son when are you coming?"

"Dad I'll be over in a minute."

"Well be quick cause the meeting can't start without you."

"Yeah alright"

Hello I'm Xavier Stone. I'm 29 years and the eldest in my family and so naturally I became the CEO of my father's company. I was told my father wanted a family meeting and I had to attend. I  drove over to their place and entered the study and met my father with another man and a lady and my little brother.

"Dad I'm here."

My dad turned to look at me with the other man.

"Xavier. Good you showed up."

"Yeah so what seems to be the problem"

I sat down on a chair and my dad smiled.

"Xavier this is my best friend Fred."

Fred: Hi Xavier its finally nice to meet you.

Xavier: Likewise sir.

Collins : He is the owner of Calvin's company.

Xavier: Really? So you are the multi billionaire?

Fred: Oh no I am a multi millionaire. The billionaire is my daughter Calvina. She does all the magic.

Xavier: Well maybe we can meet and partner up.

Fred: That would have to take a lot of come convincing to do.

Collins: That's what we are here to discuss. Where's Calvina by the way.

Calvina: Here did I miss something dad?

I turned and saw the person I nearly run over today. I'm sure she also did because of the glare I got.

Calvina: what's he doing here?

Collins: I can see you already know each other.

Xavier: Well yes I kind of tried to run over her.

Collins: Okay let's start then take a seat Calvina.

She sat down beside her sister and my dad started talking.

Collins: Okay the reason we are here is to tell you guys about your wedding.

Calvina: Excuse me who's wedding?

Fred: You and Xavier Cal.

Xavier: Wait what? I can't just get up and marry someone I don't even know.

Fred: That's where I'm getting at. You guys would spend one month alone in a house we purchased to your satisfaction so you won't have to worry about anything.

Calvina:No I can't dad. I have work to do and also there's Lisa and.......

Xavier: Who the hell is Lisa?

Calvina: My secretary who's getting married. Dad please I'm not ready to marry. Rose tell him.

Fred: Cal I know after James you don't want anyone again. But you can't live knowing that I didn't do anything for my girl.

Calvina: Okay dad. I'll do it. Only for you.

Collins: Then its settled then. You guys move in tomorrow.

I watched as everyone got up and left. Calvina had an annoyed expression on her face. Like her sister she was not happy with this turn off events. I'm not happy that my father will arrange a marriage for me and that one too with his best friend's daughter. I sighed and got up to leave. I went into my study and sat down. My brother came into the room and sat in front of me.

Brad: How are you Xavier?

Xavier: I'm okay. Your dad just planned a marriage for me.

Brad: So you aren't okay. How you gonna tell dad you love James girlfriend whom you've never met.

Xavier: Murder me then. I didn't meet her but I want to hold her and comfort her.

Brad: You're crazy. She's decided not to date again. She's heartbroken thanks to you.

Xavier: I didn't cause the accident Brad.

Brad: You fought with him before the accident. I blame you. You shouldn't have hit on his girl. He loved you as a brother you idiot.

Xavier: I don't care. I didn't mean to fall in love with her. I'm more confused.

Brad: Good cause you should be.

He got up and left the office

Well I got to the house that my dad and Calvina's dad bought for us. They were right the house was to our taste. I was also allowed to bring my brother Brad and my best friend Harry along. The house was huge and beautiful.  No one was around when we showed up. That's what we thought till we heard noises from where I'll think is the gym and we moved towards that direction. When we got there Calvina was doing press ups in a sports bra and sweatpants. Her sister Rose and some other guy were counting.

Rose: Wow Cal that's a lot. That's enough stop.

Calvina: Sorry Rose can't dance to your music. Keep counting.

Rose: Fine. 112,113,114,115,116,117,118,119,120,121,122,123,124,125.....

Brad: Woah that's a lot.

Calvina stopped and lifted her head and looked at us then I saw the sweat dripping down her face and her hair was beautifully short and dark. What the hell I'm I thinking I don't even know this girl and I'm complimenting her on her appearance. She got up from the ground and wiped her palms.

Calvina: You made it Xavier. I was starting to think you won't show up. After all you didn't show interest.

Xavier: Neither did you. Who's this guy by the way. I don't remember seeing him last on night.

Andrew: I'm Andrew. Cal's best friend.

I looked at them and Calvina took her towel to wipe off the sweat.

Andrew: Cal that's another record you broke. I would have done better though.

Calvina: Why I'm I not surprise. You said that last week. So what happened with Nate.

Andrew: Nothing go get changed and let's get out of here.

Calvina: Okay.

She left with Rose and Andrew after they said good bye. Brad, Harry and I watched them go.

Brad: So can I get Andrew

Harry: And can I get Rose. 

Xavier: No one is getting anybody. You guys are just here to help or whatever you are here for.

They smiled and they laughed at me and we went to look for our rooms.

Calvina

We came back from shopping for groceries for the house. We sent the food to the kitchen and we were arranging it when Rose spoke.

Rose: Cal? How do you see Xavier?

Xavier: A dickhead that is.

Andrew: Oh come on Cal not now. James was not the only guy in the world.

Calvina: He was for me Andrew. He was the only man in the world for me. I don't want any replacement at all. 

Andrew: We know but you can't keep crying over a dead person and you know that.

Rose: Cal I know you really loved him but he's gone. You drove dad to do this. He wants you to be happy that's why he did this with his best friend.

Calvina: I know but I'm not sure I can love him the way I loved James.

Andrew: We can always try and if he's an asshole we'll get rid of him.

We laughed at that statement he made cause he was entirely ridiculous. They both left me to prepare dinner for six hungry people.

After preparing dinner Xavier miraculously came downstairs to the kitchen. He stood there shirtless and placed his hands in his pockets

Xavier: Hey

Calvina: Hey

Xavier: Need some help with that?

Calvina: Yh a little. Can you pick the glasses from the cupboard up there for me.

Xavier: Okay.

He moved behind me and stretched and picked out the glasses. I wasn't blind to how close we were and the heat radiating from his body.

Xavier: Here where should I put them?

Calvina: On the table you're helping me set it.

Xavier: Okay. Um..... Last night at my place I didn't get to introduce myself. So hi I'm Xavier Stone.

Calvina: I'm Calvina Williams. I don't like you.

Xavier: Well that's a start. Why don't you like me?

Calvina: I just don't like you.

Xavier: Is it because of that James guy?

Calvina: I'm not talking to you about him. So don't even mention his name.

Lay the table and call your people to come to eat and I'll do same to mine. I left him there and went upstairs to call Andrew and Rose for dinner. After dinner I walked away from the table still fuming with anger from talking to Xavier.

Calvina

I woke up this morning wanting nothing more than my favorite cup of coffee by my side but no one can do it better than James and Lisa. I got out of bed and went towards the kitchen to eat something edible and go to work. I got there and saw a shirtless Xavier standing there without a shirt on and I stood rooted to the ground. He had the perfect body anyone could ask for. I don't know why all of a sudden I want..... wait that came out wrong. I want James and no one else. Not even him. I went over to the coffee maker.

Xavier: Hey.

Calvina: Yeah.

Xavier: Look about last night I ......

Calvina: I don't want to talk about it.

Xavier: I'm sorry if I upset you in anyway.

Calvina: I said I don't want to talk about it. Let me be.

Xavier: Okay. Um.....take this.

He stretched his hand that a cup of coffee was in.

Calvina: Is it good or horrible?

Xavier: Just try it.

I took it from him and tasted it and it was the best coffee equivalent to James' coffee. I looked at him and he just shrugged his shoulders and smiled.

Xavier: Good luck at work Calvina.

With that he just left me standing there watching him leave.

I came back from work that day to meet Andrew and Brad sitting on the couch way too close together.

Calvina: Hey Andrew.

Andrew: Cal?! When did you get back?

Calvina: Right now. What happened when I left?

Brad: Nothing Calvina.

Calvina: Please call me Cal like Andrew. Considering the fact you're interested in my best friend.

Brad: Is it that obvious.

Xavier: Of course it is Brad. Everyone here knows it even Andrew knows it.

Calvina: Good evening Mr. Stone.

Andrew: That's harsh Cal.

Xavier

What the hell did she just call me? I looked at Calvina who didn't look at me and called Andrew to follow her. Brad just looked at me the same time Harry showed up.

Harry: What did I miss?

Brad: Cal just called him Mr Stone.

Harry: That's harsh. What did you do Xavier?

Xavier: Nothing. I just came in from work. So is everything ready for James' two year anniversary next week?

Brad: Yeah bro. You miss him don't you?

Xavier: Why won't I? He was closer to a dad than dad not my fault.

Harry: We know he was everything to you. But I wonder if our James is the same as Calvina's James.

Brad: Come to think of it I also wonder. James did have a tomboy girlfriend when we were in China before he died.

Xavier: How sure are you that its her. It might be another person.

Brad: Yeah you're right. I'm going to look for Andrew. I'll see you at dinner.

He left and Harry and I shared knowing looks. I went to my room  and changed into something nice to wear since I'm the one cooking tonight. I got to the kitchen and started cooking dinner for us. When I was done Calvina came running into the kitchen and stopped only to see with the smile on the face disappearing as well.

Xavier: Is there a problem Calvina?

Calvina: No I thought....... Never mind see you in the dining hall Rose will come and help you.

With that she left me in the kitchen and wishing James was here for me to talk to him.
