It’s been two month everything has changed. Everyone on this planet is dead. Only I am left all alone. I have searched all of these houses in neighbourhood but found nothing, Am I going to die all alone on this planet? I don’t even want to live anymore, then why I’m still alive? Because I have a hope that someday I’ll find some people alive just like me, we’ll accompany each other. And this hope is not letting me die. I believe I’ll find someone or I wish someone will find me.

Oh I forgot to introduce myself well hello I’m Austin I’m 16 year old all alone left here my family is gone my parents they are dead. I’m living in basement of my house for more than a month as earth is not that safe as it used to be. Whenever I go out of the house I’ve to think is it the right time! Do you want to know how all of this happened I myself have a blur image that was so sudden that I was

shocked more like scared. My father was a scientist he was studying about radioactive waves for a long time he told the govt. that the uses of radio signals is getting too much so we have to warn all the countries about it. Ask all the people in the world to built basements and bunkers because earth will face a huge radioactive wave but govt. blocked the news they said that it’ll only create chaos in the world and it’s not like what my father predicted can really happen it’s something that is almost impossible they said.

But my father knew that it’s not impossible so he taught me everything he could about radio signals and science, from how to operate satellite computers to how to save myself from the radioactive wave. He said that the radioactive wave is gonna be so powerful that we have make a basement 2km under the house to protect ourselves. I was scared he taught me how to live alone. He tried to tell other people in our about it, but the govt. put him in the jail and I think he is dead by now.

People died of various types of cancers, many sudden deaths occurred mysterious deaths but it was mystery for other not for me I knew what was going on around. Why they had cancer? And no was saved from it not even rich!

You know what is the scariest thing? Being the last human to die on this planet. I’m scared very scared I’ve no one to tell about this. But now I think when I’m already alone let’s live these last few days of my life happily at least I’ve food to eat I can go to supermarket near to have food. This whole place is swept clean like Mohenjo-Daro civilization. (Google it if you don’t know)

It’s another day again I want to move out from this house now I feel like this whole world is mine I’m the king I can do whatever I want, I can go wherever I want, suddenly I’m happy I don’t know what is the difference between right and wrong. I think I’m going crazy but it doesn’t matter king can do anything and as I’m the new king of this new world I can do anything.

Austin was going crazy and it’s not a big deal for the last person on this earth to behave like this. After writing things in his diary he left from his house. The cancer spread out like pandemic and went out of control everyone is dead but all the resources for a human need are still there like food, petrol, O2, water everything Austin needed even cars and buses everything was left there as it is.

When cancer was spreading in common people and they died govt. threw them in a mass grave and burned them all together without giving respect to the dead but later higher officials died, rich died and the people who were called govt. they ‘DIED’. And this is the reason Austin think that there is rare changes that someone else would be alive other than him but obviously when you are the last person left on the earth you’ll try your best to find someone, a reason to live.

Anyway Austin is leaving his house for good.

He was walking around finding a house to stay in obviously he is going to find a luxurious house to live in. Many houses caught his eyes but king need the best house. “Ah this one is beautiful I can stay here for one night” he said. There were no lights now because everyone is dead so who is going to operate them. That’s why he chose to stay and have a good rest in a house. Yes he was not walking all the way he can use cars there are many cars without owners now so he would enter any house get car keys from there have some food and leave. Now this was his daily routine for a few days. Not bad.

Just like this one night he entered in a house sat on a couch there, spreading his legs on the table. There was a pack of chips on the table and some of the chips were scattered there on table he took that pack and started to eat chips. (he didn’t thought that chips were old or not if he should eat them or not because if he get something to eat he would eat it without giving it a second thought. A alone man who doesn’t care about his health because being healthy won’t give him any benefits. It’s not like he have to live long for his family).

When he was eating chips happily and enjoying his life something happened, something that made him smile, something that actually made him happy. Someone stabbed his leg with a knife and was about to stab his heart but he grabbed those hands and threw the knife away. What can make the last man one the earth happier other than founding one more human alive. But still it looks like this human is a little dangerous.  After a little fight and a few injuries both of the humans were tired and the other person realised that Austin is not trying to harm him/her.

Now they both were sitting on the couch in the dark without speaking anything. This person didn’t say any word from starting. So Austin thought that the first alive person he found is a mute because when they were having their little fight there were sounds of struggling but not even a word other than that. He was a little sad but at least now he had someone whom he can live with. After cleaning blood from his injuries they both slept.

Next morning when Austin woke up he saw a beautiful face. A little girl around 9 years was sleeping there. It was her she stabbed Austin this little girl. But from where did she got so much courage? And how is she living here alone? Maybe someone from his family is still alive? Many questions came into Austin’s mind he thought of many possibilities he looked around the house when the girl was still sleeping. There was no one. So he took out some raw food from his bag and started to make breakfast for both himself and that little girl.

When he was cooking that girl woke up, followed the smell and went to the kitchen and saw him cooking food. Austin looked at her and said “oh you woke up have some breakfast.” The girl nodded and when both of them were having breakfast he asked “is there anyone else who is alive in your family?” She nodded her head in no. Again he asked “are you living here all by yourself?” she looked here and there and again nodded in yes. “What a pity! You are mute but worry not now I’m here with you I’m also alone would you like to go with me? This time she did not nodded her head.

She stood up and went to her room. While he was thinking did he said something wrong?

Finally found someone alive was actually thrilling but life was totally complicated at this point he was confused but happy, thinking if he should leave or wait for that girl to come back in living room or follow her upstairs. After some time that girl came back with a bag, he was looking down while sitting on the couch, so she walked stomping her feet on the stairs to make him notice her. And yes he noticed her and her bag and said “oh so you are coming with me!” She nodded and left the house with her bag and he followed her.

They both sat in the car.....
