Chapter 1
Hi, first of all, I'm going to introduce myself. My name is Martina Echeverria, I'm twenty-four years old, and I come from another world, a more modern one, but without magic. In that place, I lived very well with my family and was in a relationship that I thought was very stable, since we had been together for several years. However, several events that happened afterward led me to be able to tell you this story, my story.
I had a very good childhood, and I never lacked anything. However, my way of being and my personality left much to be desired in people, and this brought me many problems. They didn't understand me, and I didn't care about them one bit, which caused many conflicts, with friends and with my partner.
Only my parents accepted me as I was, however, I was thinking of seeing a psychologist because even I realized that my behavior was not very normal, to say the least, only I didn't have time.
I always thought that I could become a psychopath and someone also very narcissistic, but as I said, I didn't get to find out, due to life's circumstances, but fortunately, I got another chance to live as I wanted, without my weirdness being a problem.
I was studying two careers simultaneously at the university, administration, and accounting. Since my family was wealthy, money was not a problem, and I was also very intelligent and strived to be able to cope with both careers at the same time. When I inherited my parents' fortune, those titles would serve me well.
Everything was good in my life, until that fateful day when I woke up in this place. When I opened my eyes, I discovered that I was in a room that I had never seen in my entire life. Everything was in a very elegant but at the same time old style, like in those movies about stories from the past, about royalty, or something like that. I was very confused, I didn't know where I was or how I got there.
I could only remember that I had been very tired while walking home. I had discovered the idiot Federico, my boyfriend of more than five years, in bed with Luisa, my only friend ever since. Just thinking about all the time she played dumb and then stabbed me in the back, made me want to kill her myself.
When I got to his room and saw him, the wretched man had her on all fours on his bed while he rammed into her with such desire, which he never showed me. The damn man barely touched me, always leaving me unsatisfied. But he was giving it to her like a rabbit, and the damn woman, very pleased too, moaned and screamed how well he was doing it.
My heart and soul were completely numb. Seeing them having sex, that affection or so-called love that I had for him, I no longer felt it, it had disappeared in an instant. I could only see them with hatred and disgust because they were betraying me, and that was not something I liked.
After yelling at them what dogs they were and throwing some things at them, I went home, and on the way, I saw a light. But not the famous light that takes you to heaven. I think I was hit by a car because I can remember a blow, followed by a lot of pain, and then I woke up in this place. And it was obvious that this was not heaven.
While I was looking at the place attentively, the door to the room opened, and a woman entered. She was a woman in her thirties or thirty-five, maybe. Her clothes were like a maid's or housemaid's. Seeing her awake, she said in surprise.
"My lady, you have woken up! How are you feeling, Your Majesty?"
"Majesty?" I said alarmed that she would call me that. Since I wasn't understanding anything that was happening.
Seeing me a little unnerved by my response, she is surprised to understand something.
"Your Majesty, do you know who I am? Do you remember me?"
"No, who are you? Where am I?"
The woman quickly runs out without saying anything to me. I was left waiting for a few minutes when she returned, accompanied by an elderly man.
"Your Majesty, do you remember me? I am Brandon, the palace physician. Could you tell me your name?"
Asked the man.
"Uh, I don't remember,"
I responded, not knowing what else to say. I wasn't understanding anything that was happening.
"Oh my god, it seems that Your Majesty has lost her memory,"
said the worried man.
After saying that, he checked me and said that my diagnosis was memory loss from a blow I had received when I fell down some stairs in my palace. He told me that I had to rest for a week and eat well. When he finished, he left, leaving the lady and me alone in the room.
What I didn't understand was why he said that I had lost my memory if my memory was fine.
Seeing that the silence between the two of us was prolonged so much, I decided to strike up a conversation to be able to obtain relevant information about this strange place. I was sure that I had died, maybe they had given me another chance to live.
"Excuse me, but could you tell me your name, ma'am?"
I finally asked the woman.
"Oh, Your Majesty, forgive my insolence. My name is Maria, and I am one of your maids."
"And me, what's my name?"
"You are Iris Dorni, and you are the empress of this empire. You are married to the emperor, David Castelli."
Upon hearing those names, I understood where I was. Oh, god.
Chapter 2
A week before the accident he had, he read a novel online from a large platform that told the story of a couple. He was an emperor of an empire whose name he couldn’t remember; his name was David Castelli, who married a young woman for whom he had very strong feelings, Iris Dorni. He had been in love with her since he met her at her debut party when she was fifteen. Unfortunately for him, she did not feel the same about him; however, he was unaware of this.
The young woman was forced by her parents to marry the emperor without him knowing. David married her believing that Iris felt the same way he did, as she accepted the marriage proposal so quickly, just two months after he asked her. It wasn’t until after the wedding, when it was too late, that he found out, and that was because he overheard Iris talking to her parents in private in a room of the palace after the ceremony.
He heard how she was threatened by her own parents; if she didn’t do as they commanded, they would ensure that the man she truly loved would die in the worst possible way. So, seeing herself with no choice, she complied. Discovering this was a devastating blow to him, leading him to keep as far away from her as possible during the celebration.
He was sad and blamed himself for seeing his now-wife so miserable, for having to abandon the person she loved.
At the wedding party, noticing that the couple was keeping their distance, her parents devised a plan to ensure the marriage was consummated. If they didn’t do something, it would never happen, as the king had just learned that his wife did not love him and that she had only married him because her parents ordered her to under threat. They knew this because they had been informed by someone who worked for them, who had seen the emperor eavesdropping, and after watching the emperor leave and Iris, he reported back to them.
Moments before the couple was to retire to their chamber, a toast was made to celebrate the newlyweds. The king drank the contents of the goblet in one go, frustrated with the situation he found himself in, unaware that his in-laws, Iris's parents, had paid one of the palace maids to slip an aphrodisiac into his drink.
When they finally arrived in the room, she went to the bathroom to change, leaving him alone without saying a word. When she emerged, she found David sitting on the bed, staring blankly into space. Immediately, she noticed something was off; he was perched on the edge, his breathing quickened, and he was touching his face, as if trying to awaken himself.
She saw the exact moment he noticed her, sending chills down her spine. Without saying anything, he rose and lunged at her, beginning to kiss and touch her everywhere. Despite her struggles and pleas for him to stop, she couldn’t push him off. He threw her onto the bed and climbed over her, tearing her clothes to expose her breasts, leaning down to bite them.
David was so lost in his mind from the effects of the drink he had consumed that he didn’t realize he was hurting Iris, the woman he loved. This incident would mark the beginning of their future together.
He finished tearing the bottom of her nightgown and positioned himself between her legs. While she cried and tried to scream through her tears, David undid his pants and thrust into her with force.
As she had been a virgin until that moment, the strength of the penetration caused her extreme pain, resulting in a piercing scream that tore through her throat from the force with which she was taken. He continued taking her forcefully for a long time, until exhaustion rendered him unconscious on top of Iris. She had long since fainted on the bed, overwhelmed by everything her body had to endure that night.
By the time David woke up, he noticed he was very tired, despite having just been asleep moments ago. He moved, which caused the person next to him to stir. Iris, feeling someone moving beside her, jolted awake in fear, and all the pain her body was experiencing at that moment became overwhelming, prompting her to start crying and moaning.
When David saw her, he was taken aback; she was naked beside him in bed, her body covered in numerous bite marks and some bruises shaped like fingers in various spots. Blood, both dried and fresh, was visible on the sheets, still oozing from between her legs and staining her thighs completely.
-Iris? What the... - David said, extremely worried upon seeing her condition, but he was silenced by her whimpering when he reached out to touch her.
-No, no, please, don’t touch me anymore! Don’t hurt me again!
Chapter 3
After that tragic night, Iris isolated herself from everyone. She didn't go out anymore, didn't receive visitors, and refused to see the king ever again. She took possession of a small palace far enough away from David and moved out of the royal palace that she was supposed to share with her husband. This was the first time an imperial couple had not lived in the same palace, so it was the gossip among the servants, which quickly spread among the nobles, causing a real endless amount of speculation.
The poor woman could not understand that although the king had raped her, he had not done it consciously, that everything had been a twisted trap created by her own family. Furthermore, she never let her husband explain what had happened that night. She just shut herself off from him and the world. He was the only guilty one in her mind. She never found out that her parents were the ones truly responsible for the tragic wedding night she had had.
After three months, in which Iris was secluded and isolated from everyone in her palace, where she did not eat well and every day her maids, who tried to take care of her as best as possible, saw her worse, resulting in one day she fainted. When she woke up, she was surrounded by maids and the royal physician, learning then that she was pregnant.
That news was the worst they could have given her, after what had happened to her a few months ago. She was completely distraught, since for her, finding out about the pregnancy was simply reliving what had happened to her, so she had only wanted to end that baby's life. She even tried to kill herself to kill it too, she took a knife and cut her wrists, but one of the maids found her just in time and saved her life, then the doctor treated her to heal her wounds.
The king, upon learning of this, ordered that she be cared for day and night without leaving her alone for a moment so that she would not commit another madness. Although he hated himself for taking her that way on their wedding night, he didn't want his son, and the son of the woman he loved, to die, so he made that decision.
With no other choice, Iris, since she was being watched all day and all night, had the baby. However, from the moment he was born, she could only reject him. From the depths of her being, those feelings of love for that child that any mother could have did not come out, she only felt disgust when she looked at him, since he was the fruit of what they had done to her. He was a child born of rape.
She was aware that she hated an innocent baby, but her grudges were stronger than being a mother to that child. So, a week after he was born, after being forced to feed him and seeing that her contempt for him grew more and more and excessively because she was forced to see and touch him, she told one of the servants to tell the emperor to go to her room to see her.
When David arrived, thinking that perhaps she had forgiven him and wanted to work things out between them, he was disappointed to see the look on her face.
"I know the baby is innocent, but my hatred for him is stronger. If you don't take him away right now, I swear I'm capable of hurting him. I don't want to do it, but I will. After what you did to me, there is no motherly love that I can give him, just take him away and save him. Save him from me."
David's words tore at his soul, but he understood that she, in her own way, was trying to help and protect her son that way. So he took him away and told her that when she wanted to, she could see him. Sadly, for that child, a mother's love was not born in her and she never wanted to know about him again. Even when he looked for her in his childhood, she did not see him. She just sent him away from her palace.
She and King David died alone, as neither could rebuild their lives. She could not erase from her soul the memory of her wedding night and he could not get out of his heart the love he had for her, even after all the damage that her contempt had caused him.
Marcos, their son, seeing what his father suffered because of his mother, and the contempt that she had for them, was never able to trust love and only married to have heirs, but was not able to know love before he died.
His wife, the daughter of a high-ranking nobleman, came to hate him for not being able to love her, even though she did at first, but after so many years of abandonment by him, it caused a change in her feelings.
