Lord Krishna's Interview

Introduction

INTRODUCTION TO LORD KRISHNA
Lord Krishna is the purna-avatara of Lord Vishnu, having all 16 kalas or perfect qualities. He is known for his infinite charm, smile, and beauty. He was so beautiful that, it is said, even precious jewels lost their shine and beauty before his! Whether they are stories of cute baby Krishna, or young naughty Krishna, or loving dancing Krishna, or strong protector Krishna, or wise Gita Krishna – His stories have enchanted the world from time immemorial!
Birth of Lord Krishna...
Krishna is the only form of God born in a jail cell. He was born on the eighth day of the eighth lunar month, exactly at midnight! Krishna was born in Mathura, raised in Gokul and Vrindavan (Brindaban), and settled in Dvarka (Dwarka). Krishna had two sets of parents: Vasudeva and Devaki, and Nanda Baba and Yasoda. His elder brother was Balarama. The name ‘Krishna’ was given to him by Rsi Ganga. ‘Krishna’ means ‘dark (in color)’ and ‘one who attracts everyone.’
Friends of Lord Krishna...
Krishna’s two best friends (both at different times) were Sudama (his school friend) and Arjuna (to whom he taught the Bhagavad Gita). Krishna’s had another friend, Radha, he grew up with in Vrindavan. He always told her, ‘You, Radha, are my own Self.’ Radha was one of the many gopis who loved Krishna, and they all grew in devotion to the Lord through his magical feats, musical flute, and divine games. Their love is the purest love the world has ever known to date.
Many names of Lord Krishna...
Lord Krishna has infinite number of names, including: Keshav, Gopal, Achyuta, Banke Bihari, Girdhari, Chaturbhuja, Govinda, Hari, Madhav, Mohan, Manohar, Muralidhar, Parampurusha, Satyavachana, Shyam, Vasudevaputra
Devotees of Lord Krishna...
Some of Lord Krishna’s greatest and well-known devotees are Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Mirabai, Surdasa, Tukarama, Purandaradasa, Madhvacharya, Vallabhacharya, Kanakadasa, Narsi Mehta, and Andala. Devotees often pray to Lord Krishna to make them like His bamboo flute – hollow and ever-ready at His side – so He can play through them whatever tune He wants (make them do whatever He wants), whenever He wants. By this, devotees are sure that they will always have the Lord with them and they will always be made to do the right thing.
More about Lord Krishna…
When Govinda played His flute in Vrindavan, it is said, all of ‘Nature’ joined in as His music band! Thunder gave the drum beats, lighting put on a terrific light show, the rivers added playful percussions, the wind blew in soft whispers, birds and bees hummed harmonious melodies, and sometimes even the raindrops danced on the drum called earth. Krishna had 16,108 wives! This is a very special story (as are all the stories in Krishna Lila), for which you have to read Shrimad Bhagavatam, about which Krishna says that ‘He is this book!’ Peacocks have the most beautiful feathers among all birds. It is therefore fitting that a peacock feather sits on Sri Krishna’s crown. Krishna’s favourite foods, aside from milk, butter, kheer, and curds, included puffed rice – the kind he got from his best friend Sudama.
In His Gita, Lord Krishna says, ‘Give me anything with love – a fruit, a flower, a leaf, or even a drop of water – I will accept it joyfully.’

Why did you take birth as a child in this world when you could have killed Kansa or helped Pandavas directly coming to them as God?
Krishna
Krishna
The ultimate purpose of my appearance is not to kill the demons, it is but a secondary aspect to it. However, the primary aspect is to deliver the conditioned souls from the cycle of birth and death. This is my personal choice and this deliverance comes by enacting the various transcendentally sweet and marvellous pastimes. Just by hearing those beautiful pastimes of me, people are attracted to know more about it. Thus, I gave all of you the opportunity to take your mind’s focus away from the sensual objects to my beautiful pastimes. Thereby your mind become gradually purified and you become eligible for your deliverance. I took birth as a child to make you all realize the sweetness behind my majestic form. Although we are now in Kaliyuga, still we have that opportunity to discuss my pastimes, still many people do a regular recital of the Damodara lila, many people still enact my childhood pastimes in the form of dramas on the occasions of festivals like Janmashtami and other such festivals. This keeps the devotional fervour vibrant and alive even after the thousand years of my disappearance.

Won’t it had been better if the persons killed by you would have never taken birth?

Ep 2

Humans only learn everything after committing mistakes and all the people killed by me were not completely evil, they had some evil habits which resulted in their demise. And as I have said in Gita, you can change your fate by your karma. Although I know one's fate but it can be changed by oneself. The ones who are destined to be killed by me might not face the same destiny. But remember, changing one's fate is extremely difficult.
Cosmos

Among all the demons killed by you, who was the strongest?
Krishna
Krishna
None. All were similar in power for me.
Note: He is so powerful that even a large gap in the power of demons is so less to him that he doesn't want to compare.

Could you please tell us about Radha? I have seen her many times in the paintings next to you.

Radha and Krishna are not two separate entities, rather they are one! Radha is Krishna and Krishna is Radha. Together, they form the divine symbol of love! I pleases everyone, but Radha pleases even me. The devotion and unconditional love of Radha for me can be seen as the symbol of the soul longing from the divine and merging with it! She is the one who has no attachments. And as stated by me myself, only one who is free from all attachments can love me purely, for their love is pure and divine. The essence of love of God is emotion, bhava, and the ultimate development of emotion is mahabhava. Radha is the embodiment of mahabhava. Her mind, senses and body are steeped in love for Krishna. She is my own energy and she helps me in my pastimes. Radha is as fully spiritual as me. No one should consider her to be material. She is all spiritual.
