Raised By Eevee

Eevee (the one who is normal)

The first Pokemon I knew in my life was Eevee. Or Mother Eevee as few Pokemon have called her. When she took me in, she named me Artemis. She also said that I scared her because I fell to the ground and began to look like I was possessed.

...Eevee's POV ...

Hmm...so many pretty things to wear. Oh? Well, how could I have forgotten this? I pick up the shiny collar that a human made for their mate, and I put it around my neck. "Don't I look gorgeous," I ask Shinx. Shinx pauses in his sorting and turns to look at me. "Uh, yeah," he says a little hesitantly. "It's just too perfect for this snowy weather if you ask me," I said as I looked at my reflection.

Shinx sighs as he turns back to sort out 'my mess' for about the five thousandth time, "Sure." I grabbed my bag and walked out with Buneary hopping behind me. I'm a collector of human things as you can see, whether it be a dropping that the human didn't pick up, or a raid at a Pokemon trainer's camp. Just...like...this one. "Look at this shelter. It looks like an Abomasnow attacked. Oh Buneary, look at this! I think these humans were collectors too! Look at all these...Pokemon...heads?" No, no, no! This was a Pokemon hunter! "Mother Eevee," Buneary calls. I turn towards Buneary, who's ears are turning every which way.

"What's that crying sound," she asks. Hm. So I'm not hearing things then. I put my bag down and begin searching around. "You search too, Buneary." "Okay." Buneary and I look, well I look in every place around the camp. Honestly Buneary, do you HAVE to look at every bush you see? Unfortunately all I could see were Pokemon heads and skins.

The noise. It's somewhere around here. "BUNEARY! Stop shoving your head in bushes," I yell. "But it has a lot of twigs," she shouts back. "Ugh. Every bush has a lot of twigs Buneary! Now help me look!" Buneary went to look under the skinned Pokemon. Ew. I look under heads. Even more gross than the skins. Definitely ew. I look under skins.

Oh my gosh, how do humans even like this? Uggghh. I think I'm about to give up. But there was another shelter. I haven't checked it yet. I go to the other shelter, and the noise is louder. But it was also very smelly. I go inside, there is the hunter, lying on the ground dead. "Hmph. They deserved it."

Buneary hops to my side. Being curious to see what was in there. I slowly wander around the shelter. "Be careful Buneary, anything in here could be a trap." Now that I think about it, the human could be faking their death and waiting for some random Pokemon to come find whatever the sound is. I slowly look to the side of me. There is something...that isn't a dead Pokemon. I carefully sniffed it.

I've seen how Pokemon hunters lure their catch. Food. This one lures Pokemon with curiosity. "How clever...," I murmur. But I'm no fool. Unlike them who will go for the bait. I take a deep breath. "Well you may as well just go ahead and laugh at me. Because whatever is under here, must be absolutely, most terrifyingly, too disturbingly, gross."

I carefully pull the skin off. And at that moment, it seems as if I have forgotten why I was even here. A human child...and it's still inside its egg! No Eevee! You must resist! Grrr! But it's just... "Mother Eevee, look! It's a human child!"

"I am aware of that."

"Can we take it home? PLEEEEEASE?"

"Buneary, you know what Charizard will say!"

"He won't say anything. And besides, it's so cute!"

I sigh deeply. She's got a point. It really does look cute. I search around for something to keep the small human child warm. -scoff- Why the shelter of course. Duh. I just have to tear some of it off. And away we go! With all my strength, I pushed the human child out of the shelter. "Oh, wait, my bag. Can't forget about that. Now, let us go--human child? Human child?"

The human child squeals as it slid down the river, which had been frozen over. Buneary and I scream in a panic. And we quickly run after them. "Human child. Human child. Human child. Human child. STOP LAUGHING TINY HUMAN THIS IS NOT FUNNY," I shout to the little human. I have to run faster, and with this snow being so deep, I have to leap higher. Quickly, I jump on to the icy river, but I end up slipping on the ice. I quickly get back up and continue running. "HUMAN CHILD! COME BACK!" With my hind paws I push myself forward to get in front of the human child.

One more push forward, and I slid in front of the human child to stop them. You're not going anywhere. Buneary quickly caught up and stares at me with eyes wide open. Why do I feel my hind paws dangling? I look behind me, and I see what looks to be a waterfall. Frozen. But it's still a waterfall. AND I AM ON THE EDGE!

Buneary--Autism and ADHD

Buneary was the second Pokemon I met. She showed me every bush, and how they had a lot of twigs and sticks which annoyed Eevee quite a lot.

Buneary's POV

I have to get help! "Don't worry Mother Eevee! I will get Charizard for you!" "NO! DON’T GET CHARIZARD," Eevee yells loudly. Charizard is our best friend, because he is very loyal. And he is very helpful too. I hop quickly to Charizard's cave, where he is sleeping very quietly without a sound. Ooh, a twig…No, I have to focus. You see, Charizard can't make any noises. So no one knows what he is saying.

Oh look! We're here! I lightly tap Charizard on the snout. Charizard slowly opens his eyes and blinks. He is either frustrated, or tired. Charizard's blows a puff a smoke through his nostrils.  "Mother Eevee...um...Mother Eevee is stuck on the edge of a frozen waterfall," I say quietly. Charizard's eyes open wide. And I squeak as Charizard picks me up, grasping me in his claws.

Charizard quickly takes to the sky. We are going very fast! And it really wasn't too long before Charizard landed and dropped me. I fell right through the snow. And now I am cold. I dig my way back up, Charizard had already rescued Mother Eevee by the time I reached the surface. Oh wait, we can't lose the human child again! I hop over to Mother Eevee and Charizard. "Charizard! Look what me and Mother Eevee found!" Charizard looks in my direction, and he jumps back and his wings immediately flares in panic. His eyes are wide, and he has to say not a word for one to know what he wants to say. 'What. Is that. Creature?' The human child rolls, falling out of its egg. Aw! It's even trying to walk to Charizard!

Charizard lifts his foot, trying to avoid being touched by the human child. I look at Eevee, suddenly remembering what she said earlier. “Mother Eevee, why did you not want me to get Charizard,” I ask. “Nevermind what I said Buneary,” says Mother Eevee, “Okay?” “Okay.” The human child looks at Charizard and smiled.

"I don't think Charizard likes it," Mother Eevee whispers. The human child drops onto Charizard and giggles, hugging Charizard's foot. "Charizard doesn't like this," I say to Mother Eevee. Mother Eevee sighs deeply. "That is what I just said Buneary." I lower my head. "Oh." Charizard panics again, flapping his wings so fast they look like they are fluttering. Charizard glares at the human child with wide eyes, and pointed at it. "It's a human child," said Mother Eevee, "You're fine Charizard."

I watch Mother Eevee as she leaps onto Charizard's tail, climbs up his back, and onto his head. Mother Eevee sits and bends down so that she can look Charizard right in the eyes. "Relax," she says calmly, "Now be a good dragon Pokemon and say 'hello' to your new cousin Artemis."Charizard frowns and lowers his head....

"Mother Eevee, what did you name the human child?" Mother Eevee palms her face. Then looks back at me. "Did you really forget THAT quickly?" I look at the ground guiltily. "Sorry," I murmur. Mother Eevee sighs, then pats me on the head. She then smiles and says, "Her name is Artemis. Did you get that?" "Yup," I say nodding, "Artemis." I look back at Charizard and Artemis. Charizard stares at Artemis in curiosity, as she plays with his tail fearlessly, visibly resisting the urge to flick her off.

Charizard carefully picks her up with his claws, but before he set her down... "Charizard," Mother Eevee exclaims, "you're so brilliant!" Charizard's gaze turns towards Mother Eevee, and he looks at her with confusion. "I have been thinking for hours about how I could take Artemis home!" But it's only been a few minutes...I hop onto Charizard's back. "Will he take us for a ride home," I ask. "Only you two," she replied, "I mean, it shouldn't be so hard for Charizard to handle should it?"

Charizard blows smoke through his nostrils, clearly showing that he is very frustrated with this task. But, he eventually nods, and he follows Mother Eevee back home. I watch Artemis all the way. She looks very comfortable being held by Charizard's claws. But the way Charizard looks at her, he looks at her quite concerned. "Is she ok," I ask Charizard. Charizard begins to look worried. Mother Eevee looks at the child. "She's probably tired," she says, trying to sound assuring.

At home, Charizard carefully set Artemis down. And she must have been very tired because when we come home, she falls with a big thud, and messes up Shinx's progress.

Fact: One moment they're as calm as Master Yoda. A few seconds later they're bouncing off walls like Sonic the flippin Hedgehog (that makes us ADHDers tired)

Fact: For most ADHDers, they could drink a gallon of coffee. It will either make them tired, make them calm down, or it'll have no effect.

Fact: Unfortunate ADHDers, they can get distracted very easily. And they can also be very forgetful.

Fact: Don't ask me how or why, but people with ADHD tend to be quite messy.

Shinx (OCD)

Shinx was as they would say, neat and tidy...but also very soft. He was also the first Pokemon name that I learned to say. Well, somewhat. And for that reason, everyone just loved to cuddle with him and ruffle up his fur. He, like me and Buneary, was adopted by Eevee. She said she had found him not too long before she found me.

...Shinx's POV...

"COME ON! I JUST FINISHED SORTING THOSE," I yelled. The human child's eyes rolled back, and they tremmored and shook. Everyone, including the look on Charizard's face, was panicking. "Why did you bring that possessed human child into our home," I asked screaming. Eevee simply huddled under Charizard's wing and watched as the human child threw itself around on the ground.

We waited for what seemed like a long time before the human child finally stopped flopping around. "Charizard, is she okay," Eevee whispered. Charizard shrugged. While still tremmoring, Charizard gently touched the child with his claw, and it twitched. "Get it out," I growled, "please."

Buneary then threw a kick at me and started biting a my ears. "OW! OW! WHAT DID I DO?" Buneary hopped off, and I started to groom my fur. "She's not leaving, she's staying," Buneary said firmly. I gave my fur one more lick then looked at Buneary. "Fine. But you keep her away from meeeyahhh...ew. Get this thing off my paw." "It's not hurtin you," said Eevee. "It's drool is getting on my paw," I growled. Eevee scoffed.

The human struggled to get up, but it kept falling to the ground. Charizard then put a claw underneath the child to keep her on balance. I just don't understand how Charizard could even cope with the child's drooling. I'd throw her off if I were him. Unfortunately no one knows how Charizard feels about anything since he can't roar or growl. I mean, it's quite a good thing I guess because he's really quiet...but at the same time no one ever knows what he wants. Not even other Charizards....speaking of Charizard, why is he staring at me with that awkward face?

"No Charizard. I don't want cuddles. You'll mess up my fur," I growled. Charizard smiled and picked me up, grasping me in his claws. "Let me go," I roared. I started squrming, trying to release myself from Charizard's tight grasp. Charizard then gave me to the human child. And the human child hugged me tightly. I growled deeply. I am officially ruined.

Charizard set the human child down, and it still clung on to me. "CUDDLE PILE," Buneary shouted. "What?" Buneary quickly jumped onto me, wrapping her arms around me like I was pillow.

I looked up at Eevee and Charizard. "Help." But Eevee simply stared in awe, while Charizard dipped his head 'goodbye' and left. It was only a matter of seconds before I could hear Buneary snoring.

I looked at the child, and it had fallen asleep. "You didn't name it did you," I asked Eevee. "Of course I did," she replied happily. Of course she did. "Ugh. What did you name it," I asked. "Artemis," was Eevee's simple answer.

That Evening...

I guess I fell asleep. Wait, where's Eevee? "Eevee?" I shoved everyone off and walked out, tried to anyway. Snow had completely covered the entrance, and now it was freezing inside the den. Where's a fire type when you need one? I called Eevee one more time, but she was in a deep sleep. I guess I'll have to dig a way out myself.

So it wasn't just snow, it was a blizzard. Oh hi Charizard.... Wait, "CHARIZARD?" Charizard quickly sat up. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE," I asked trying to shout above the wind. Charizard tapped his claws together, then pointed at the snow. "And what about the snow?" Charizard started drawing in the snow. And I tried to translate them. "A hill? No, a cave. It got blocked a bunch of rocks. Uhh...by the snow. Ugh, why can't you talk? You become sad? Scared? Worried? About what? Or who?" Charizard looked down with a guilty face. Oh please don't tell me. Please don't-- "YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT THE CHILD!?"

Charizard nodded slowly. "She's fine Charizard. She's asleep. And honestly, she doesn't need me to stay warm she has Buneary!"

"Shi?"

Every part of me froze. Tiny footsteps run up behind me, and the little nuisance falls onto my back.  Unbelievable. "Charizard. Get this thing off of me." Instead, Charizard stared with his eyes wide in awe, while the child just kept saying 'Shi'. "EEVEE!"

Eevee ever so slowly walked out of the den, and yawned. "What is it Shinx," she asks. "The child won't get off," I growled, "and it keeps saying this weird word!" "It's trying to say your name, Shinx," said Eevee.

Again...unbelievable.

One year later...

"Shinx!"

I sighed deeply. "What, Artemis?"

"Look at this rock I found!" A rock? Really? She comes to me over a rock? "Go show it to Buneary," I growled. "Okay," said Artemis happily. But before leaving, she came up to my side and hugged me tight.

I went back to digging out a path. These snow storms are starting to become more annoying than Artemis and Buneary combined. "SHIIINX," the little nuisance calls, yet again. "WHAAT," I called back. "There's a bright light," Buneary shouts. A bright light? "Where," I asked. Artemis comes running back, almost panicking.

"Where's buneary," I asked. Artemis hugged me and started crying. "She was taken away!" "Who was taken away," asked Eevee in a panic. "Buneary," I replied. Charizard landed in front of us and started throwing his hands everywhere. "What is it, Charizard," I asked. "Did you find Buneary," Eevee asked.

Charizard paused, then nodded. "Well what are you waiting for," I yelled, "show us where she is!" Charizard's eyes narrowed, and he began walking into the forest.

"It's a human..." said Eevee. The human immediately looked in our direction.

Maybe if we stay perfectly still... "More Pokemon," they exclaimed.  Oh no. "Haha! It must be my lucky day! First A Buneary, and now a Shinx, an Eevee, a Charizard, and...and...A child?"

Charizard quickly grasped us all in to his claws. And held us against his chest. His teeth were bared. "Eevee, what are those things in their bag," asked Artemis. "They're Pokeballs," said Eevee, "they must be a Pokemon trainer."

Facts that got off the web:

OCD is a disorder in which people have recurring, unwanted thoughts, ideas or obsessions. To get rid of the thoughts, they feel driven to do something repetitively.

Somewhat obvious fact that I just learned today:

People with OCD can in fact get along with someone with ADHD.
