He is Athena's father.

She is a housewife and obeys whatever her husbands says or wants her to do.

THE STORY BEGIN.

It was summer season and Athena was returning from her school, today she had something new in her mind and wanted to share it with her parents and get their permission to do it.

She was scared because this was her first time which she wanted to do it on her on.

She was thinking of how to speak to her parents?

Will they agree or get mad at her?

Many things were going on her mind. While thinking, she reached her home. She was excited and scared at the same time. She put her thoughts aside and entered her house to hear a conversation between her parents. Out of curiosity, she stood behind the door and heard what were they talking about.

Mr.SMITH & Mrs. SMITH CONVERSATION

Athena's mother spoke, 'dear, I think we should start thinking of Athena's future'

“hmm” replied by Mr. Smith, he said,” I thought of it she is a good girl, I have thought of marring her off to my friend's son he is good for her and I know him well”

“But shouldn't we discuss it with Athena? “Replied by Athena's mother.

“There is noting to discusses it, it's for her own good, and she'll listen to me, and she'll be 18 coming this April. It's time for her to get married and get settled”.

After listening to this, Athena was heartbroken.

She was crying behind the door by closing her mouth with her hand, she didn't want her parents to know that she was there standing and listening.

After a while, she calmed her self down and came into the house and walked to her room by hanging her head down to not let her parents know that she cried.

Soon she reached her room and closed her door and fell on the bed crying her heart out, she couldn't hold back her tears more, and she let it all out.

Athena” NO, MOM. I'll study harder to make you and dad happy, but I want to play and make friends 😞”

Athena's mom replied(in slight angry voice)” Athena, making friend is a bad thing and when do you have time to make friends and spend time with them.

            Making friends means making enemies they will use you to complete their work and then leave you when you are bored .then what'll happen again you'll be left alone, again

                and if you want me and your dad happy then you better concentrate on your studies, don't waste your time on thin useless things”

When she was 14 years old

Athena was in her school

                she was sitting near the window and watching other students playing and talking, and she was all alone and reading

Athena thought

***   it's fine. If I study harder, then mom and dad will be happy, I should make them happy.” ****

She never had a friend, what she knows was that she has to make her parents happy, nothing else meant to her. She always obeyed her parents, but there was an emptiness in her heart,

the longing for a friend to talk with!

Enjoy like others and to do what she liked'

But she always had ignored her feelings and did they tell her.

She started to fell suffocating between them, she was no longer herself, she was just a puppet who their command, she didn't have a life for her self and she was thinking

  And I’m barely seventeen.]

Athena's heart raced as she saw her father waiting outside the club room. She knew she had to act quickly. She texted one of her new friends from the club, Emily, explaining her predicament and asking for help. Emily, understanding the importance of Athena's newfound independence, agreed to stall Mr. Smith while Athena slipped away.

Athena approached her father with a nervous smile and said, "Dad, what are you doing here? I wasn't expecting you."

Mr. Smith, looking stern, replied, "I decided to pick you up today. It's time to come home."

Emily, playing her part, approached them and said, "Mr. Smith, I wanted to talk to Athena about the club's upcoming project. It won't take long."
