You were out of breath as you drifted in the water, desperately trying to collect your breath with a smile as you studied the distance you just finished. "Three laps, done." You said to yourself proudly as you fell back into the water, feeling it surround you. It felt comfortable, like a warm embrace, which welcomed you at any time of day or night. Somewhere you could be yourself, where you could improve your new-found passion for swimming. You pushed yourself up from the water and smiled. "Just one more time." You smiled as you didn't even bother putting your swimming cap on and grabbed your goggles, as fast as possible putting them on and getting out of the water, stationing yourself to get ready. "And go." You muttered to yourself with a smile as you dove into the water. You started ever since you started watching Hanuka and the rest, you instantly fell in love with it. Not only that, but you couldn't explain the adrenalin you got when you saw someone swim with passion. As if it was pulling you towards it. Your specialty is freestyle, individual medley, backstroke and butterfly. But you loved Backstroke the most.
You did your last lap and finally hit the wall, jumping up from the water gasping for air, and blowing the water out of your mouth, your hands rubbing your face after you removed your goggles and your cap, dragging your hand through your hair. You took another slow deep breath and exhaled a loud sigh of victory, feeling your muscles ache from pushing yourself too hard. But little did you know that you didn't see the person standing behind you.
"Hay Y/n." A voice purred as you yelped and dove into the water. It was the first thing that came to mind, yet you felt stupid when you came back up for air, brushing your hair out of your face. "You did well with the backstroke, Y/n." Hiyori smiled down to you as you swallowed, trying to hide the flush on your cheeks. Not because you liked him, but whenever you got startled, your face seemed to heat up.
"Don't scare me like that!" You muttered as you avoided eye contact, even though you were fully aware that your face was now redder than a tomato.
"I'm sorry." He laughed as you pouted, pushing yourself out of the pool before he offered a hand to you. "Here, let me give you a hand." He huffed as you scoffed, taking the towel he gave you after you got out. "You just looked so in the element." He said as you shook your head, muttering.
"That didn't even make sense, Tono." You muttered into the towel as you dried your hair, or tried to as you tried to keep an eye on Hiyori, always taking the chance to push you back in when you just got out, like in the old days. "Did you bring me my lunch as you promised?" You grumbled as you walked past him, placing your cap and your goggles into your bag, wiping your face with the towel.
You turned around, not getting an answer as you locked your eyes on him, slightly glaring. "I see you're being yourself today." He smirked as he folded his arms, giving his smile that only meant he was looking for a fight. "I mean of course, because he's not here." He shrugged as he pushed his hands into his pockets, walking away.
"And what is that supposed to mean?" You asked as you pulled your bag over your shoulder after zipping up the zipper of your Nationals swimming jacket, which was a bit oversized, almost covering your upper legs as you followed him. "Tono, I'm talking to you!" You shouted as you chased after him. You never liked it when he teased you like this. Likewise, you knew exactly who and what he was talking about, but you wouldn't admit it, not to him. Having Hiyori for a twin brother wasn't fun, at all. He would often annoy you when he had nothing better to do.
You finally caught up to him as he opened the car door, about to get in. "I should have brought Ikuya along." He muttered to himself as you stopped dead in your tracks, feeling your face warm up. "I mean, wouldn't that have been nice, Y/n?" He grinned as he saw you looked down, hiding your lower face into your jacket, your hands clenched inside the sleeves. "Hmm, not so big mouth now, huh?" He chuckled as he closed the car door.
Damn it, why did he have to have such an effect on you?! You guys have been dating for more than 3 years already, yet you're still acting like a child who just fell in love for the first time. You looked up, taking a deep breath and stomped over to the car, getting in. "That wasn't very nice of you, Tono." You muttered into your jacket as he huffed through his nose with amusement, starting the car.
He chuckled to himself as he shook his head. "Y/n, you both live together in the same apartment." He laughed as you kept your eyes on the road. "You sleep together, in the same bed." He took a turn, dragging his words as if trying to terrorize you. "And you kiss, I presume." He said as you gasped, feeling robbed of your privacy as you growled at him.
"That is none of your business, Hiyori!" You yelled as your voice broke to a high-pitched tone, making him burst into a fit of laughter. "Just shut up and drive!" You whined as he shook his head, looking over to you.
"No need to be rude y/n. I'm only stating facts." He hummed as you sighed. "I mean, if it wasn't for me, you two would never have met him in the first place." He said proudly as you hummed, knowing that if you said anything else right now, he would somehow find a way to turn it against you. "You do get all shy and flustered when Ikuya is with us." He said as he tapped his finger on the steering wheel along with the rythm of the music. "I mean this one time, when we went for swimming practice, you had a nosebleed when you saw him without a shirt." He laughed as you spun around, ands clenched into the seat.
"That was when we first met!" You yelled as you bit down on your lower lip. "And I slipped on the floor, that's why I had a nose bleed." You folded your arms over your chest as you sank into the seat. Not even mentioning the part that it was Ikuya who helped you up, while Hiyori was on the floor busy dying from laughter. "And it was in middle school!" You snapped.
"Oh come on sis, I was only joking with you." He smiled as both of you got out of the car. "So how has work been treating you?" He asked as you sighed, knowing that he's only making small talk now because he had nothing left to tease you about. "Do you still work at that Ramen shop down the street?" He started piling up the questions you either answer with humming or shaking your head.
"Were you always this annoying?" You asked with sarcastic curiosity as you stopped in front of your apartment door. He didn't answer, but only gave you a smile. The very smile which meant that he intended to annoy you, only when he wanted to. "You should stick with being the serious one, you know; being serious about studying, having your passion for swimming, and all." You sighed as you looked up to him. Knowing you might be identical twins, you were indeed a foot shorter than him. "Thanks for the lift, but you should go now." You bowed as you turned around, opening the door to walk in, but before he could walk in as well, you slammed the door shut in his face, earning a sigh of victory from him.
"Love you!" He shouted but you ignored him.
"Hay, you're home a bit early." You got shivers down your spine as you dropped your bag on the floor, walking through the apartment. "Did Hiyori drop you off?" He shouted from the living room as he sat on the couch, sipping on some coffee. You didn't say a word, didn't even go to change your clothes as you walked over to Ikuya and fell into his lap, cuddling up to him. "You're flustered again." He grinned as you turned your face into his chest, his arms wrapping around you. "Did he tease you again?" He chuckled as he earned a groan from you.
With his arms wrapped around you, you pulled back a little and glared at him. "Don't even waste your breath asking about it." You muttered as he gave you a smile, pecking you on the lips.
"It was about the day we first met, wasn't it?" He grinned as you cried in agony. He tried not to laugh as he hugged you close to him, humming. "Hay Y/n?" He whispered as you hid your face into his chest once more. "I love you." He whispered into your ear, as he pressed a kiss to your head.

Requests? Any requests?
any Anime with its character. But please be describe the request. I don't want to fail your expectation.
I'll do one per day. If lucky I'll be able to post everyday. And if I don't just be patient with me, I'll probably be writing exams then.
⚠️ The anime and the characters I use in these oneshots doesn't belong to me. But the oneshot itself does.
