I woke up from the sunshine peeking through the curtains on my face and illuminating my entire room. yawning and stretching I rubbed open my eyes and held my face in the direction of sunlight. The warm sensation of the morning sunlight fills me with hope and calm my mind. After 5 minutes of peace and making journal of today's activities in my mind, I raised from my cozy bed, took a quick shower and threw on a long casual lemon skater frock with button-up neckline and short sleeves. I slipped into my white Mary Janes and did a 360° spin in front of the mirror.

"Ahh perfect! "

I smiled to myself and headed downstairs to see my mom watching TV in her grey chiffon tiered knee-length jacket dress. she was wearing her favorite pearl necklace and earrings. " going out mom? " I asked as I made a beeline to the kitchen and poured myself a glass of orange juice. "I was expecting a good morning greeting but okay and yes we are going out " she announced with her eyes still fixed on the screen. " ow! sorry I saw you all dressed up so I forgot the formalities but what do you mean by 'we' ??"

" I want you to meet someone "

I chugged down the full glass of juice and ran towards the couch

" don't tell me it's your boyfriend? "

I asked in excitement, hoping to get a yes in answer.

Mom is dating a man for 2 years now and she still haven't told me about who is he. I asked her a few times to introduce us but everytime she would make an excuse or tell me he is busy.

" Jesus Christ! you are acting like you're going to see spiderman "

" come on mom he is your boyfriend I have the right to be excited and btw I don't like spiderman, I like Hulk "

she gave me a brief annoyed glance and stood up from the couch.

" so my little reader is taking a day off from the library right? "

" umm yes I have to even though I don't feel good about it. I can make a sacrifice for my Mama's Boyfriend. " I said with a grin and helped mom doing the breakfast dishes and then we left to her boyfriend's place in my Hyundai 120.

I pressed on the accelerator pedal violating the speed limit on highway.

"have you gone nuts Julia! slow down we do not want to die today."

mom scolded me again for my rash driving and I scoffed before I slowed down.

Driving is not my most favorite thing. I just like to sit in the passenger seat and behold the world outside.

" you are using gps, aren't you? it is not that far so calm your senses. "

" yes ma'am ... "

I rolled my eyes and sigh before starting a normal conversation with mom. it is a special day for her, for me and probably for Mr. jeon (Mom's boyfriend) too so I will try not to ruin it with my bad temper.

"anyways mom, does Mr. Jeon have other members in his family?"

mom didn't look in my direction and held her gaze outside on the tree-lined avenue. After a moment of silence she opened her mouth to answer.

" he has a son. His name is Jungkook and he is 19 year old. "

" wow! so I will get to play with him and pacify him or maybe bully him cuz imma be his noona "

I let out an evil chuckle before pulling into the driveway of Mr. Jeon's house.

"don't you dare bully him Julia. He is so innocent for your satanic soul"

Mr. jeon's mansion* actually

"holly cow mom....you pulled a sugar daddy"

I teased stepping out of my Hyundai which now looks like a donkey-cart compared to the luxurious cars parked in a row in front of the mansion.

"I swear Julia if you blabber any nonsense to Mr. jeon I am disowning you"

"chill gal I am just kidding. Mr. Jeon is going to be thankful for such an amiable company he is going to have today and bestow me half of his possessions"

I exclaimed with the same vexing grin that I put on to tease mom

" I cannot with you, let's just get inside first. They are waiting for us. "

"bummer!"

I rolled my eyes and followed mom with a wide smile on my face.

when we reached in the doorway someone opened the door like they knew we were here.

she was an elderly woman. Her smile was kind and radiant and her features were soft.

"Good morning Ladies, Mr. Jeon is impatient to see you two. He even asked me to stay by the door until you two arrive."

"Good morning Ms. Lisabeth it's a pleasure to see you after a while. This is my daughter Julia.

Julia this is Ms. Lisabeth,she served as Jungkook's babysitter when he was little. Now she is house steward.

Mom introduced us and I gave her a warm smile and bowed before she began talking with mom and guide us inside. My eyes surveyed the entire living room with pure wonder which was more like a hall decorated with elegant grey wallpapers having golden prints and spacious leather sofas. The golden light from the gigantic chandelier hanging with the ceiling in the middle of the hall was filling the environment with coziness. It was built like one of those old historical churches I saw on our 2 weeks trip to Italy when dad was with us.

The thought of not having him around anymore saddens me alot but I need to stay strong for mom and I am so happy that she finally decided to move on and found love again. I believe wherever dad is, he must be happy for her.

"Julia! love come-on meet Mr. Jeon"

I was so deep in awe of this place that I didn't notice that Mr. Jeon was already here. Him and mom were seated on the sofa looking gorgeous together. His hair are of salt and pepper and he seems like of mom's age, maybe a little older yet too energetic and cheerful.

I wore my social butterfly smile and approached Mr. Jeon. He stood up and spread his arms and wrapped me into them. I let him.

" Look at her, Maxine. Two minutes before I was convinced that I've never seen a girl more beautiful than you and now your daughter seems to change to mind. "

I laughed at his remark as he releases me from his warm embrace. Only then I realized how much I miss hugs from dad and it felt so good knowing that now i have a father like figure who even though cannot replace my father but seems to fill the space he left behind to some extent.

" it's nice to meet you Mr. Jeon I hope your health is good "

" young lady I am perfectly fine. I still look younger than your mom "

he winked at me as he lets out another series of laughter.

" Glad to know that, you ,just like me, enjoy teasing mom. we will get along well. "

" indeed gorgeous! now let me introduce you to my son, he was very excited to meet you."

Mr. Jeon gestures Lisabeth to let Jungkook know that we are here. she did a little bow and ascends the never ending stairs to inform my soon to be 'bullying victim'.

Moments later I saw a pair of bare feet descending the stairs. I looked up and behold the full view of the owner of these gorgeous feet.

" so. this. fluff Ball. is. your. son?? "

Hola readers! I have chosen a specific name for the reader that is Julia. I know when it is the idol x reader fic this is not what we normally do. we just put the acronym 'y/n' for the reader but when I am reading a fanfiction, this theory doesn't work for me. I keep on reading "your name" instead of inserting my own name lol. so I thought it would make much sense and will be less awkward if I use an actual name.

if y'all prefer 'y/n' then let me know in the comments I would gladly use it in the next chapters.
