Greek mythology, legends and stories about gods like Zeus or Poseidon, and goddesses as of Athena or Aphrodite, heroes and warriors like Achilles, monsters, other non-human beings, and so on.

These are all things my family believes in, and when I was younger, I did too.

The first book I ever read was "Eros and Psyche", a Greek romance story about Eros A.K.A. Cupid and Psyche the most beautiful mortal with looks that could rival that of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty herself. But I stopped believing a long time ago.

*RING* *RING* the phone on my table starts ringing

"Oh it's aunt Marilyn" I pick up and a soft and worried voice starts speaking from the other end.

"Hello? Cosmo? Are you still working?" says aunt Marilyn.

I reply to ease her worries "Don't worry auntie, I no longer have any work to do and I am waiting for the time to turn 6:00, so I can clock out. Is there a problem?"

"Nothing my dear, I just wanted to check up on you... and if you don't mind come pay your aunt a visit every once in a while, ok? But only when your not busy" she says in a caring tone.

"Of course auntie. I have to get off the phone now, alright? I'll make sure to pay you a visit during the weekend, I'll even bring gifts. So, goodbye now. Thank you for checking up on me".

"Alright then, goodbye dear. And keep safe always, alright?"

"Alright, goodbye now"

"Goodbye Cosmo"

That was my aunt Marilyn, she's always worried about me since she was the one who raised me ever since my father passed away of an illness when I was 7 and my mother died giving birth to me.

But that's all in the past now, that doesn't matter anymore.

Anyway, My name is Cosmo. I am a 23-year-old, male, office worker, and I like to read as a hobby. And right now my biggest problems are that I'm broke, I live in a shabby apartment with poor hygiene... and I'm single. I know that last one doesn't sound like much of a problem but for me, it's really hard and that's because I like men. Yeah, not so easy now, is it?

*sigh*

Well that one doesn't really matter much because i don't necessarily want to, I mean I've dated in the past and my partners all ended up being a bunch of jerks..... but you know, it does get kind of lonely sometimes. But that wont stop me from focusing on what's really important in life!

I get a glance of the time. "It's almost 6:00"

I wait in suspense, excited to get out of the company I sit anxiously. "C'mon" I say under my breath *tick* *tick* *tick*. Impatiently waiting... and waiting… And waiting... and~*RING* the clock strikes six.

I rush out the door after clocking out and notifying my co-workers that I'm leaving.

I call for a cab to the book store for this is the last day that the new volume of the current book that he is reading is on sale.​​​

"Taxi! To XX bookstore please"

I arrive at the bookstore, I then look for the book and luckily, there is one left.

Ecstatic "Yes!"

I hastily grab the book to pay for it and leave the store to go home.

I arrive back home and heavily sigh

"So lucky! I got the last copy! Now lets change out of this stuffy uniform and freshen up so I can read in bed" Cosmo says in a satisfied tone

​He grabs the book he bought, and starts reading

​​He's halfway through the book and decides to call it a night. He puts his book down, he turns off the light, then he goes to sleep.

The next day when he wakes up  to the bright sunlight in a room different to what he usually sees.

"Where am I" he questioned as he raised his arm

"Huh? This is..." he's frozen in shock from what he sees, he raises his other arm.

"Baby arms?! What is this? Why am I a child?" The door of the room he was in swing open, he then hears a woman speaking "Your majesty, it's time to wake up".

To Cosmo's surprise, he was in a completely different world.

"What?!"

Alright, let's not panic. Let's think this through. How could I possibly have gotten here?'

I ask this question as if the answer was easy to find, it's not. But I sit there pondering anyway. How in the world did I wake up here?

I look back at the recent events. 'Well, yesterday I bought the new volume of xx the series. Then I went home to read it, after that I went to sleep... Well that doesn't explain sh*t.'

I keep thinking. And then a sudden memory popped into my head.

'That lady- or I guess, the maid, just now did call me Psyche. But, if I put two and two together that would mean I'm IN the story of "Eros and Psyche", as... Psyche?' A crystal clear confusion spreads across my face. Why Psyche of all people? Isn't she a woman? Why me?

Someone comes in and disrupts my train of thought, it's the maid. "Your Highness, Prince Psyche, It's time for you to bathe." Prince? Huh, well it's good to know that I'm still a guy.

A small and soft voice comes out of my mouth "who are you?"

... 'Was that me!? My voice is disgustingly cute. Wait! That's not the point here, I was being rude just now. I should apologize.' I unconsciously start staring at her.

"I'm sorry I-"

"You must be confused as to who I am since I'm new here. My name is Lorelai, but you can call me Lory, your highness. I will be your new personal maid" she says as she smiles at me.

After that my day went as followed. Lory helped me bathe. Then she helped me change into a new set of clothes. Next she helped me eat breakfast. After that I played until it was lunch. Then I studied until it was dinner time. Then Lory helped wash up and changed into my pajamas and tucked me in bed.

My day could have been better, since I'm a prince and all, but it's definitely better than having to work my a** off day and night.

This world is... peaceful, quiet, and calming. There aren't neighbor's kids to disrupt my sleep at 2:30 in the morning, or any cars still stuck in traffic honking like there's no tomorrow while I'm working on a presentation my boss assigned me to make. There also isn't the dawning realization that it's a Sunday night and that I have work tomorrow morning.

Honestly, I could get used to this.

I continue to think about this new world. How it's so much different from my old one, but at the same time how calming it is.

There's so much to think about, but I'm so tired... 'I'll just think... About it... In the morning.....'

Without realizing, my eyes grow heavier and heavier until I fall asleep

*zzz*

KNOCK* *KNOCK*

Ugh. 'Who could it be this early in the morning?'. I let out a sigh before speaking, "Who is it?".

"It is me, Lorelai, your highness"

I get up from bed to open the door. "Lory? What are you doing here? It's too early." Lory let's out a soft chuckle.

'Hey, I heard that!!!' I think to myself

"I am here to wake you up young lord." She says with a cheeky look on her face.

"I knew that, but why?" Lory could see the obvious look of disappointment and confusion on my face.

I could not believe what she said next.

"Both you and your sisters are to go home to the palace today to spend time with your family, as per his and her majesties the king and queen."

I froze. I had completely forgotten about having an 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 family. At least having one in 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 world. "I suppose I am to get ready right now, correct?" I ask.

"That is correct, your highness" with no other choice, I unwillingly head to the bathroom to freshen up. I mutter one last thing under my breath "Seriously Lory? Waking me up at the literal a** crack of dawn?"

Lory overhears my complaint "Yes, your majesty, at the literal 'a** crack of dawn'" she says with a grin on her face.

*grumble* 'Cheeky woman'

Cosmo sits in the bath tub in a daze. 'Now that I think about it, the entire time I was here I never really got to see my sisters.' Cosmo continues to ponder the thought. Then something waves across his face.

"Your majesty?" It was Lorelai's hand. "Is something bothering you?"

'Since she asked, then it won't hurt to say, no?' Cosmo turns his head to Lorelai "Lory, are my sisters living here too?" I ask. "Why of course young lord. It's just that they stay in a different part of the villa so they can focus on their studies."

'If this is the case, then this place must be a lot bigger than I thought. And it seems that my sisters are studying.... I haven't studied one bit, why could that be?' Cosmo looks at Lorelai while contemplating whether or not to ask her or to simply shrug it off.

Not long after he decides to ask her. "Lory, why aren't I studying like my sisters?" Lorelai stares at Cosmo in confusion. "Your majesty, every time I talked about studying you would always have a sour look on your face."

'I did?' Thought Cosmo. 'I don't remember this. Whatever maybe I was coincidentally in a bad mood when she talked about it.'

"Well that doesn't matter right now. Let's get you dressed now, the carriage will be arriving soon." Says Lorelai. Cosmo gets up from the bath tub but moves as slow as a slug for he is still thinking about his family in this new world.

Lorelai notices Cosmo's slow pace and decides to give him a little motivation "Your majesty, Psyche, if you are curious about your sisters then you will be able to meet them soon for they are waiting in the carriage, so I advise you rush a little, hm?" She says with her signature cheeky smile.

Cosmo looks at Lorelai before he speaks

"Alright" he says as he smiles.

"Oh! By the way Lory, you don't have to call me 'your Highness' or whatever you can just call me by my name!" Cosmo adds.

"Alright then, Psyche. Let's go"
