Five years ago.
Yue Gu Zui awoken in a hotel room. The morning sunlight shone through the floor-to-ceiling window onto his ***** body that made women crazily salivate. Women would willingly drown themselves in the deep intensity of his eyes.
Yue Gu Zui sat up on the bed, rubbed his groggy head and grabbed his phone.
‘Cheng Yi, after three days I don’t want to hear Mr Wan’s name exist in Tao Nan,’ Yue Gu Zui said coldly.
Yue Gu Zui cursed the MF Wan, the MF dared to drug him.
‘Cheng Yi, compensate the woman from last night,’ Yue Gu Zui said.
‘Yes boss,’ Cheng Yi said and hung up the phone.
Cheng Yi loved to see other people in trouble. It was Mr Wan’s own stupidity for daring to drug his boss. Even if Mr Wan wanted Mr Wan’s daughter to crawl into his boss’ bed, Mr Wan’s daughter would never have the chance to be his boss’ wife.
‘Wei Qi, boss said to compensate the woman from last night,’ Cheng Yi said.
‘I received news from the hotel staff that the woman from last night died in a car crash after leaving the hotel,’ Wei Qi said.
‘Ok,’ Cheng Yi said.
Cheng Yi didn’t care the woman from last night died. He saw his boss leaving the lobby and he followed his boss to the car waiting outside the hotel for them.
The woman from last night was Zhen Zhen.
Last night Zhen Zhen dragged Nan Ma to a shady hotel bar.
‘Zhen Zhen are you really going through with your plan?’ Nan Ma asked.
‘Yes,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Zhen Zhen had a beautiful heart shaped face. She was 1.65 metres tall and the skinny jeans she wore showed off her slender legs.
‘Ok, go and find your man,’ Nan Ma said.
Yue Gu Zui wore a black suit and he was standing in front of Zhen Zhen and Nan Ma.
‘Boss, Mr Wen is waiting for you in a private room,’ Cheng Yi said.
Yue Gu Zui nodded his head. He ignored the sultry looks women in the bar gave him and walked to the private room.
Unbeknownst to Zhen Zhen and Yue Gu Zui in that moment fate had secretly planned for their lives to cross.
‘Zhen Zhen, there are many ways you can have a child,’ Nan Ma said. ‘You don’t need to go through with this.’
‘Nan Ma, don’t worry I’ve thought this through properly,’ Zhen Zhen said. ‘Men are untrustworthy. They can leave their wife and child any moment and follow their mistresses. I don’t want a man, I only want a child. I’ve hired a PI to follow this man for many months. The man’s an Englishman. He has looks and lacks IQ. In a month he’ll be leaving the country for good. I’ve bribed the barmen and they drugged his drinks. He’s in room 1006. I’ll wait for the drugs to kick in and I’ll go to his room.’
‘You drugged-’ Nan Ma asked.
Zhen Zhen covered Nan Ma’s big mouth.
‘Big sister, you don’t need to shout,’ Zhen Zhen said. ‘Lucky no one heard you. I’ll call you a taxi.’
Zhen Zhen escorted Nan Ma to a taxi in front of the bar. Then she nervously walked to room ‘1006.’ She pulled out the room key but someone opened the door for her.
Fate had led Zhen Zhen to the wrong room, room 1006 was the opposite room to the room Yue Gu Zui pulled her into.
‘What are you doing-’ Zhen Zhen asked.
Although Zhen Zhen planned the night, she was an anxious **.
Yue Gu Zui closed the door and he dragged Zhen Zhen to the bed.
One minute later…
‘Ah… am I dead… why didn’t anyone tell me it was this painful?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
Half an hour later…
‘Feels good…’ Zhen Zhen said.
An hour later…
‘I have no energy left…’ Zhen Zhen said.
Zhen Zhen vowed she would never drug another man again. She didn’t know how potent the drug was.
Zhen Zhen woke up in the middle of the night. She rubbed her sore back, dressed and left the hotel.
Nine months later…
Nan Ma visited Zhen Zhen at the hospital in the maternity ward.
‘Zhen Zhen, are you sure your son’s father is an Englishman?’ Nan Ma asked.
Nan Ma carried the beautiful baby boy in her arms. She fell in love with her godson at first sight. But her godson didn’t look like a half cast child.
‘Yes, his ancestors are all Englishmen too,’ Zhen Zhen said and bit a red apple.
‘Then why does your son look like this?’ Nan Ma asked.
‘It’s ok if my son looks like me,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Nan Ma thought Zhen Zhen was beautiful but the baby boy’s beauty in her arms surpassed Zhen Zhen by miles.
Five years later…
On a sunny spring day a beautiful five-year-old boy carried a cute small school bag on his back.
‘Zhen Zhen, I don’t need to go to kindergarten,’ Zhen Wu said.
Zhen Zhen fixed her clothes and she ran to the door where her precious son was waiting for her.
‘Don’t you know how to call me mum?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
‘Mum do I have to go to kindergarten?’ Zhen Wu asked.
Zhen Zhen nodded her head.
Zhen Wu sighed. ‘Ok.’
Zhen Wu thought the other children at his kindergarten were naive. His teacher wasn’t smart and it annoyed him to death each time his teacher squeezed his cheeks. He would rather die than admit he was a beautiful boy.
In the classroom next to Zhen Wu’s classroom was a half cast boy named Bob who had blonde hair and brown eyes. Long ago Zhen Wu’s mum told him he was an IVF baby and the sperm donor was an Englishman. Zhen Wu knew his mum wouldn’t lie to him about his biological father’s heritage but no matter how he looked at himself, he didn’t look like a half cast boy.
Zhen Wu didn’t care about being a test tube baby. But he was a little envious of his classmate Xiao Jiang. Xiao Jiang’s dad took Xiao Jiang to MacDonald after school. Zhen Wu hated fast food, it was Xiao Jiang having a dad to take Xiao Jiang to places that he envied. Even without his dad in his life, he was grateful he had his mum and godmother.
Zhen Zhen put out her hand. ‘Zhen Wu, give me your laptop.’
Zhen Wu reluctantly opened his school bag and passed his laptop to his mum.
‘Zhen Zhen, last night an old man sent me a message online,’ Zhen Wu said. ‘The old man said he’s in trouble and needs 500K urgently. He gave me his bank account.’
‘Zhen Wu, didn’t I warn you that you shouldn’t care about strangers online and on the streets?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
‘I only asked him to wait for me and I’ll transfer him something when I’m free,’ Zhen Wu said.
Zhen Wu hacked into the old man’s computer system and sent the old man a virus.
‘Ok, the bus is here,’ Zhen Zhen said and looked at her watch. ‘Ah! It’s late. I promised I’ll meet Nan Ma at eight. Zhen Wu, be careful on the way to school.’
Zhen Wu watched his mum who had an IQ of 200 ran to the garage in a panicked state and shook his head. If his mum didn’t have his godmother in his mum’s life then he doubted his mum would survive long enough to give birth to him.
Zhen Wu stepped onto the school bus and as expected his teacher annoyed him again by squeezing his cheeks.
On the way to school, the school bus past a mansion and Zhen Wu’s eyes lit up.
After school, Zhen Wu got off the school bus in front of the mansion. He pulled out his mini laptop he hid in his school bag and hacked into the mansion’s security system.
‘Yes!’ Zhen Wu cried out.
Zhen Wu finally disabled the mansion’s security system after many failed attempts in the past. He climbed over a wall… and landed on a man’s shoulders.
‘Little friend, can you climb down from my shoulders?’ the man asked.
Zhen Wu jumped onto the ground.
‘Hello uncle, I’m Zhen Wu from the school nearby,’ Zhen Wu greeted politely. ‘It’s my pleasure to meet uncle.’
‘Hello little friend, I’m a teacher,’ the man said.
The man held Zhen Wu’s hand. He thought Zhen Wu looked exactly like Yue Gu Zui when Yue Gu Zui was Zhen Wu’s age. Except Zhen Wu’s manners were cuter, it was Louis fault for spoiling Yue Gu Zui.
‘Zhen Wu, do you want to eat a candy?’ the man offered.
‘Uncle, my mum said I can’t accept food from strangers,’ Zhen Wu said.
‘Your mum is right,’ the man said and didn’t take out the wrapped candy in his pocket.
‘But we’re friends,’ Zhen Wu said. ‘Mum said I shouldn’t disappoint my friends. I’m happy to accept teacher’s candy.’
The man smiled while he watched Zhen Wu eat the candy.
Zhen Wu hated sweets but he acted like he loved eating sweets.
‘Little friend, how did you come inside the gates?’ the man asked.
There were many security guards and security cameras around the mansion’s parameters. The man didn’t know how a little boy like Zhen Wu could bypass security undetected.
‘Teacher, I’m going to tell you my secret but you have to promise you won’t tell anyone,’ Zhen Wu said. ‘It took me a month to successfully disable the mansion’s security system.’
Zhen Wu was a natural genius. The mansion’s security system was the first real challenge in his life. But he didn’t want to be easily defeated by an ordinary person. It took him the longest time to disable the mansion’s security system.
Unbeknownst to Zhen Wu, his grandma Ling Jia was the person who designed the mansion’s security system. Ling Jia wouldn’t be pleased if she knew her grandson’s thought she was an ordinary person.
Zhen Wu pretended to look at his watch. ‘Uncle, it’s late. I need to go home. I don’t want my mum to worry about me.’
The man opened the gates and he watched Zhen Wu leave.
‘Cesar, investigate the little boy,’ the man said.
‘Yes teacher,’ Cesar said.

End of Chapter One
Classical music played in a prestigious restaurant.
‘Nan Ma over here,’ Zhen Zhen said and waved her hand in the air.
Nan Ma walked to Zhen Zhen’s reserved table by a window.
Nan Ma wore tight clothes, she ignored the lustful stares and sat opposite Zhen Zhen.
‘Little sister, this isn’t your style,’ Na Ma said and swept her eyes around the restaurant. ‘It’s unlike you to waste your time eating at a place like this.’
‘It was supervisor Cheng’s suggestion,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Zhen Zhen could afford eating anywhere but she hated wasting time eating at restaurants.
‘Cheng Tian wants to get to know you?’ Nan Ma asked.
‘Big sister, don’t talk about my supervisor like that,’ Zhen Zhen said.
‘If he asked you to eat here with him then why did you ask me to be the third wheel?’ Na Ma asked.
‘Big sister, last time you were mad at me for not making time to eat out with you,’ Zhen Zhen said. ‘I have a new research project. I’ll be locked inside my lab for ten to fourteen days. So I wanted to eat with you while I’m free.’
‘Little sister, are you saving time by considering this as treating me a proper meal?’ Na Ma teased.
Na Ma knew Zhen Zhen for many years. Zhen Zhen was a workaholic and would forget about everything else while Zhen Zhen worked. Luckily Zhen Wu was a genius and he knew how to take care of himself at a young age. If Zhen Zhen forgot to feed Zhen Wu, Zhen Wu would call Na Ma to cook for him.
Suddenly a man in a suit sat next to Zhen Zhen.
‘Are you Zhen Zhen?’ the man asked.
‘Little sister, do you know this man?’ Nan Ma asked.
‘No,’ Zhen Zhen said.
‘Hello I’m Reynold,’ Reynold said.
Nan Ma got a bad vibe from Reynold.
‘Hello,’ Zhen Zhen said politely.
‘You don’t know who I am?’ Reynold asked.
‘Why would little sister know who you are?’ Nan Ma asked.
‘I’m the CEO of Lei Thi and I’m Miss Zhen’s blind date,’ Reynold said.
‘Blind date?’ Zhen Zhen and Nan Ma asked.
Nan Ma looked at Zhen Zhen’s obliviousness and whispered in Zhen Zhen’s ear. ‘Little sister, what were you doing when Cheng Tian asked you to eat with him?’
‘Experimenting,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Nan Ma sighed. She knew Zhen Zhen must have been too focused on work and only heard Cheng Tian asked Zhen Zhen to eat at Kylie’s restaurant.
‘Big sister, what do I do now?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
‘Eat,’ Nan Ma said. ‘Order the most expensive dishes, he looks like a rich man.’
Zhen Zhen lost her appetite. She endured Reynold talk about Lei Thi. But she knew in a couple of years, Reynold would declare bankruptcy and wouldn’t be able to afford a ferry ticket.
After the meal ended Zhen Zhen and Na Ma sighed in relief. They grabbed their bags, stood and walked toward the door.
Zhen Zhen regretted wasting time eating for too long. She pulled out a petri dish from her bag and didn’t notice the three men who wore black suits were in front of her.
‘Ah… my bacteria!’ Zhen Zhen cried out.
Yue Gu Zui was finalising a deal with Tai Lan’s representatives when he heard a woman’s cry. He turned around and saw a petri dish and a woman flying toward him. He caught the woman with one arm and his free hand caught the petri dish.
Everyone in the restaurant clapped their hands in awe of the beautiful Yue Gu Zui’s swift reaction.
Yue Gu Zui returned the petri dish to Zhen Zhen and left the restaurant.
Zhen Zhen stood and patted her saved petri dish.
The only person in the room who was unhappy Yue Gu Zui saved the day was Reynold. During the commotion a waiter bumped into Yue Gu Zui and the waiter accidently dropped a cup of water onto Reynold’s expensive suit. But what angered Reynold more was seeing everyone’s attentions were focused on Yue Gu Zui. Reynold hated not being the centre of attention and he wanted to force Yue Gu Zui to publicly apologize to him.
Zhen Zhen noticed Reynold wanted to chase after the man who saved her petri dish. But the man entered a Lincoln and disappeared.
‘Zhen Zhen, do you know that man?’ Nan Ma asked.
‘No, why would I know him?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
Nan Ma didn’t know why that man looked familiar but he reminded her of her godson.
‘Zhen Zhen, where’s my godson?’ Nan Ma asked.
‘Oh no, I forgot to pick up Zhen Wu from school!’ Zhen Zhen said.
Zhen Zhen and Nan Ma rushed to Zhen Wu’s school.
‘Big sister, where did Zhen Wu disappear to?’ Zhen Zhen asked in a panicked tone.
‘Little sister, don’t cry,’ Nan Ma said. ‘Zhen Wu’s a genius. He knows his way home.’
Zhen Zhen was happy to hear a familiar ring tone. It was the ring tone Nan Ma saved on Zhen Zhen’s phone.
‘Zhen Wu?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
‘Mum!’ Zhen Wu said. ‘I’m home.’
Zhen Wu heard the phone disconnect and ten minutes later his mum was hugging him. From the school to their home was at least thirty minutes. He knew his mum must have sped home.
‘Mum why are you crying?’ Zhen Wu asked.
‘No I’m not crying,’ Zhen Zhen denied.
Zhen Zhen didn’t want to look like a cry baby in front of her son.
‘Mum I knew you forgot to pick me up so I went home on my own,’ Zhen Wu said.
‘I promise I won’t forget to pick you up from school again,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Zhen Zhen heard his mum promised him she wouldn’t forget too many times. He didn’t know when his mum would let him go, his tolerance was waning.
Zhen Zhen wiped her eyes and glanced at Zhen Wu’s laptop on the table.
‘Zhen Wu, you made a coding error,’ Zhen Zhen said.
‘Really?’ Zhen Wu asked.
Zhen Zhen was happy Zhen Wu was home and safe. She let go of him and walked into her lab.
Zhen Wu knew his mother was still smarter than him so he carefully checked for the coding error.
No one noticed Nan Ma was vomiting outside. She was in the death seat while Zhen Zhen sped like a maniac home.
A month later, apart from eating Zhen Zhen was cooped inside her lab. Her recent research took longer than usual. It wasn’t Zhen Wu who disturbed her but the MF Reynold. Reynold kept calling her phone. But she couldn’t turn off her phone in case something happened to Zhen Wu.
‘Mr Reynold what do you want?’ Zhen Zhen asked politely.
‘I want to eat dinner with you,’ Reynold said.
‘If I agree will you stop calling me?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
‘Perhaps,’ Reynold asked.
‘Ok what time and where?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
Zhen Zhen hung up the phone and changed into a T-shirt and jeans.
‘Xiao Wu tonight eat at aunty Xiao’s house,’ Zhen Zhen said. ‘Tonight I need to meet someone.’
‘Is it that uncle?’ Zhen Wu asked. ‘Does he want to be my dad?’
‘Of course not,’ Zhen Zhen said.
‘Zhen Zhen, next time if he calls and proposes to you while you’re experimenting I hope you’ll be alert and careful,’ Zhen Wu said.
‘Of course,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Zhen Wu waited for his mum to leave. Then he called the teacher.
‘Hello teacher, mum isn’t home,’ Zhen Wu said. ‘You can ask a driver to pick me up.’
A while later Zhen Zhen arrived at the exclusive Lan Jin restaurant.
A guard stopped Zhen Zhen from entering Lan Jin.
‘Miss I need to see you ID,’ the guard said.
Zhen Zhen looked into the fancy restaurant of men in suits and women in cocktails. She understood her comfortable T-shirt and tattered jeans wasn’t suitable and why the guard stopped her.
‘Zhen Zhen!’ Reynold called.
Reynold walked to the door and looked at the ghastly way Zhen Zhen dressed.
‘How can you come inside dressed like that?’ Reynold asked.
‘What else should I wear?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
Zhen Zhen didn’t care what she wore as long as she was comfortable.
‘This is the most exclusive restaurant in the city,’ Reynold said. ‘To be a VIP a person needs to pay at least 500k for a VIP card. You can’t dress like that and expect to come inside.’
‘Ok then let’s eat somewhere else,’ Zhen Zhen said.
‘Of course not,’ Reynold said. ‘I’ve reserved a table. I’ll take you to buy clothes.’
‘No-’ Zhen Zhen said.
Reynold dragged Zhen Zhen to the boutique across Lan Jin. The shop assistants looked down at the way Zhen Zhen dressed. But the shop assistants listened to Reynold and helped Zhen Zhen to choose some outfits.
At the counter Reynold pulled out his card but Zhen Zhen stopped him.
‘I can pay for my clothes,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Reynold didn’t think Zhen Zhen could afford to pay for clothes that cost more than 10k. He silently waited for Zhen Zhen to be embarrassed.
Zhen Zhen gave a shop assistant a card. The shop assistant swiped it and was as shocked as Reynold that Zhen Zhen’s card was approved.
‘Miss please sign your name on the receipt,’ the shop assistant said.
Zhen Zhen signed the receipt and the shop assistant returned her card.
‘Help me to deliver my clothes to this address,’ Zhen Zhen said.
Zhen Zhen admitted Reynold had good taste in clothes. The black knee length dress he chose for her suited her body shape. She let her hair down to shield her bare back.
Reynold led Zhen Zhen back to Lan Jin. Earlier Zhen Zhen looked like a beautiful young woman but after wearing formal wear she looked like an elegant angel.
Reynold and Zhen Zhen were seated at the table and ordered their dishes.
‘Mr Reynold I don’t understand why you insist I eat dinner with you,’ Zhen Zhen said.
‘I’m pursuing you,’ Reynold said.
‘Why?’ Zhen Zhen asked.
‘You’re a beautiful genius who won many science awards,’ Reynold said. ‘It looks good for me to be seen with you. Also you made me curious why you keep rejecting my dinner invitations.’
‘Mr Reynold if I knew why earlier then I would have accepted your dinner invitation the first time you asked so I wouldn’t be disturbed,’ Zhen Zhen said.
‘Everyone says you’re weird but I find you interesting,’ Reynold said. ‘I think I’m falling for you.’
‘Mr Reynold I’m sorry I can’t accept your good intentions,’ Zhen Zhen said.
‘Why?’ Reynold asked.
‘I have a boyfriend,’ Zhen Zhen lied.
Zhen Zhen asked the heavens to forgive her for lying. But it was the heavens own fault for sending a troublesome man to disturb her.
‘Impossible, I had you investigated and there is no man in your life,’ Reynold said.
Zhen Zhen got a headache. She noticed a familiar man was walking toward them and decided to use him as her escape.
‘Honey, why are you here?’ Zhen Zhen asked. ‘Honey this is Reynold. Reynold this is my boyfriend.’
Cheng Yi and Bai Yu Tian saw a familiar woman called their boss her boyfriend but they didn’t dare interfere.
Yue Gu Zui felt the woman’s cold sweaty hand held his hand and she was smiling pleadingly at him to save her. He pulled her up and wrapped an arm around her shoulder.
‘Hello I’m Reynold, Lei Thi’s CEO,’ Reynold said.
Yue Gu Zui didn’t accept Reynold’s business card and led the woman in his arm outside Lan Jin.
Cheng Yi and Bai Yu Tian were shocked to see their boss was leaving Lan Jin with the woman and they quickly followed their boss to the car.
Reynold was angry Bai Yu Tian took Zhen Zhen into a car without accepting his business card.
‘Who’s he?’ Reynold asked a waiter.
‘I’m sorry I can’t divulge a VIP member’s identity,’ the waiter said.
Reynold was shocked. He knew Lan Jin had only given out two VIP cards. It made him more curious about Bai Yu Tian’s identity.
