The Prince's Game

I am the Almighty Holy Beast, you little twerp!

Ding, ding!

Waking up from the sound of a game system notification is truly not  the best way to start your day. I grunt as I move to my side, reaching for my phone, only to feel something unusual…

“When did my bed start to feel prickly and bumpy?”

Feeling sluggish with eyes still closed, I instinctively pat and caress my bed, as a scent of what seemingly from a fresh morning grass entered my nose.

My eyelids flew open, startled to see my face kissing a patch of  grass, “what…?” I forced myself to turn on my back and sit up, only to be welcomed by the view of an open field. I blinked and rubbed my sleepy eyes, looked up to see 2 bright moons floating on a perfect hue of purple and pink colored sky. “Wha…. What the hell?!”

I stayed seated and frozen staring at the view. Suddenly, a huge pop-up notification that says:

{Collect your Daily Sign-in Rewards}

[Confirm]

Blinking as it notifies me. I continue to stare dumbfounded as many thoughts and questions invade my mind. Suddenly, a burst of laughter escaped from my mouth, it continued for a good minute until, tears

formed in the corners of my eyes. “HAHAHAHAH!” I must be dreaming! A very interesting dream!

Slap!

I slapped my face hard with both hands, thinking that the action would startle me to wake up. But all it did was leave a stinging pain and reddened cheeks. “Ah! Ow! Fffuuu!”

Damn it! That was painful!

I gently rub my cheeks with both hands as I console myself…

Just what the hell is going on?

“I… I must have gone crazy… This just can’t be real!” I looked back to the pop-up and slowly lifted a hand to click the [Confirm] button. “Wait… what happens if I confirm?”

This is not good. I retracted my hand back as I pondered more about the situation. “Have I really transmigrated into a game? But how? Why?”

The situation won’t allow me to ponder more on these questions, facing this new reality is more important.

“I need to understand this world I’ve transmigrated to before I do anything…”

I pat myself and look down to check my clothes and noticed myself wearing a simple brown leather vest on top of a white long-sleeved shirt, my hands are equipped with dark leather finger-less gloves. My brown-slightly-baggy pants have huge pockets on each side, while my feet are protected with boots that is good for trekking.

“This… this get up… isn’t this too much of a typical outfit for a beginner?!”

Frustrated from this realization, I reach-in to each of my pockets thinking about my basic inventory. “If what I’m thinking is right, I should have useful things for beginners in these pockets…”

As I reach deeper, I managed to bring out a sword, some bottles filled with red liquid, a pouch of round black pills, some scrolls, two books and a silver ingot. An involuntary twitch can be seen for the corners of my mouth… “Damn, these pockets can really question logic!”

I placed the items on the ground trying to figure out the uses of each items, but as someone who has played a ton of role-playing games, I could already assume what these things are for. My eyes fixated on the two books, one is colored green while the other is colored black. Suddenly…

Congratulations! You’ve gained: 1 Pouch of Energy Pills

Congratulations! You’ve gained: 10 Transportation Scrolls

Congratulations! You’ve gained: Adventurer’s Blessing Book

One after another, the system announced the items and a pop-up of summary of its uses are hovering each item. My sight landed on the black book that was not announced by the system. “Could it be… an unknown special skill book?”

The green book looks something simple that you’d see in any bookstore, but without any writings and only simple golden floral design engraved on it. It’s easy to assume that it’s a basic skill book given when you’re new in the game.

But the black book seems to be extra special. The cover is made of leather with intricate engraved design, a dark purple diamond-shaped gem is placed perfectly at its center.

I reach for the green book and open it, then a green glow surrounded me. This glow felt warm and cold, it was a very comfortable feeling.

Congratulations! You’ve learned: Basic Sword Swing

“So, this is how you learn skills…” As I dazed on the idea of learning skills, I unsheathed the sword and made a swinging motion. “Eh? Basic sword swing… this skill is supposed to be a blessing???” the corners of my mouth twitched again. Why, oh why, couldn’t I just swing the sword myself without needing to learn this skill?! Who would

have thought that learning how to swing a sword is a blessing in this world?

“Master, that’s not how you execute the skill.”

Startled, I turned my head looking around to see who it was but saw no one. “I might have really gone crazy that I’m hearing voices now too…”

“You’re not crazy, Master. If you were, I’d refuse to serve you!”

“Master?” Why is this childlike voice I’m hearing calling me master?

“I’m not a child, you little twerp! I’m your contracted guardian, a mighty holy beast! The almighty amongst the five holy guardians of Bisbard! The right hand of the God of Creation!”

“…little twerp?” as I feel my left brow twitch from the annoyance of the loud obnoxious voice invading my mind. “So, why did the almighty holy beast make a contract with a little twerp? And how am I a little twerp?!”

“Of course, you’re a little twerp! You’re only seven years of human age and I am thousands of years older than you!”

“LIES! I’m 24 this year!” as I screamed loudly, I realized how childlike I sounded. I frantically removed my finger-less gloves and looked at my hands. My sight welcomed my smooth and small looking hands with slightly pudgy fingers. Then, the voice in my head gently advised me.

“…Master, you should chant [Status] if you’d like to know more about yourself.”

While still feeling annoyed, I calmed myself down and thought how stupid of me to not think about checking my status first. I cleared my throat and chanted: “Status.”

“What’s with these skills…? It’s all heal!”

“You should be rejoicing, my foolish master! God Turae made sure that you won’t have any excuses to die. Hmph!”

Okay, so maybe this voice in my head is telling the truth about me being 7 years old… but what’s this 3rd Prince of Alistaire?! “Hey, holy beast… w-what’s with this rank? Is it possible that I’m seeing someone else’s status board? Who is Drei?”

“How rude, Master! I have a name, it’s Morsvita! Call me Mors.”

“Heh… you may have been calling me master, but it’s always accompanied with an insult! How am I rude, huh, little Mors? Should I talk to God Turae when we get back to the capital?” I asked with a smile on my face.

“M-master… *ahem* the status board you are seeing is definitely yours. You’re Dreixon Oldrich Jean-luc Alistaire\, the youngest and the 3rd prince of Alistaire royal family. You are known as Prince Drei by the masses and Drei by your family.”

The Day I Found Out That I’m A Young Prince…

Hello everyone! I’m Andre Pierce, a 24-year-old, head chef working for a 4-star high-end restaurant. Among my friends and family, I am known to play RPG to ease my stress from my 12-hour daily work shift. And I am damned good at it! Or so, I proclaimed…

Somehow, I’ve transmigrated into a world where reality seems to have the same function as a typical RPG game… I still don’t know how I got here but seeing as how I have a new body and this obnoxious voice in my head calling himself an almighty holy beast, is now telling me… that I’m a 7-year-old Prince.

Who the hell would believe this?!

***

Drei’s jaw hit the ground trying to process what was said. How the hell am I supposed to accept this?! Not only have I become a 7-year-old-lost-boy, I’m also a prince!

“WAIT! If I’m a prince, why am I dressed like this and why am I here by myself?”

 “That’s because… I also don’t know! Teehee~”

“Oi! If you don’t know, just say you don’t know! Don’t pique my expectation and say “teehee” at the end!”

Drei sat down on the ground with his legs and arms crossed, brooding. At this very moment, he can’t help but be annoyed. “Why the hell would a 7-year-old prince be alone in this place?! What kind of kingdom allows their young prince unattended and lost???”

“My silly master, why not trying to recall your body’s memories?”

Drei’s brows formed a knot, it’s not like he didn’t think of that. In fact, he had been thinking how great it would be if he is able to recall the memories of his new body. But is it even possible? If there’s a possibility to it, he should have been able to get an inkling the moment he woke up, but there was none.

He didn’t want to ask Mors, but it seems like he’ll have to depend on the obnoxious beast that selfishly occupied his consciousness.

“Say, Mors… is there a way for me to be able to recall this body’s memories… like a chant, perhaps?”

Mors’ childlike giggle resounded in his head. It’s a giggle anyone would find adorable, however, at this moment it provoked his patience instead… “Is there a way or not?!”

“Hehe… of course there’s a way! Don’t worry master, I’ll help you. After you say ‘please, help me.’”

This annoying beast! Just you wait… I’ll get back at you. Definitely!

Drei took a deep breath and relaxed his shoulders. He cleared his throat with a small cough as his tiny little fist covered his mouth. If he was not in a desperate situation, he would never allow himself to do what he’s about to do. With an innocent smile and a gentle voice, he spoke his plea.

“Almighty beast Morsvita, please, help me.”

Mors giggled merrily for a good while as the corners of Drei’s mouth start to twitch. He cleared his throat loudly with a cough and the obnoxious beast started to chant. “Thou shalt not forget… Yesterday fell for a new day, open thine eyes and recall...”

Suddenly, short-clips-like-scenarios started rushing through his head. Memories after memories started pouring in fast-paced. Even memories of the body’s birth that is normally not imprinted in a normal human being’s memory has been clearly remembered. It’s not something anyone would want to remember either.

People’s faces, names, pets, knowledge, emotions and even the unnecessary are all remembered. Drei is now able to call himself a prince as it doesn’t feel unusual anymore. Being called the 3rd Prince of Alistaire, he is now able to turn around without feeling wronged. A pang of headache followed by dizziness made his body plop down, lying flatly on the ground. When the memory of yesterday became more vivid, the terror and strong emotions suddenly rushed into him.

Apparently, due to an excursion, as he was looking over a bush of medicinal herbs, he saw an unusual white rabbit with an emerald orb on its forehead. He tried to catch it and ended up following it around that he got separated from his retinue.

The rabbit lured him deep into the forest, when a pack of vicious gray wolves showed up. The white rabbit was able to escape, but he was surround.

Though, filled with fear, he took out his sword and started swinging at the wolves pathetically until he saw an opening. He took advantage of the wolves’ cautiousness and ran as fast as he could, escaping from the pack.

Running straight without looking back, he suddenly tripped and fell down the cliff, such cliché. He has been unconscious since.

Remembering the incident caused his body to writhe in pain. His body is covered in cold sweat. As his nerves calmed, he slowly sat himself up as he wiped his sweat-dotted forehead. Mors casted a comfortable wind magic making him refreshed and sweat-free. “So that’s what happened…”

After remembering everything he couldn’t help but feel something is wrong with the situation. How was it possible for his retinue to be so useless?

He was able to lose them just by trying to catch a rabbit, someone of his status, it’s unusual to have a retinue to be careless and let a 7-year-old prince get lost. If anything happened to him the one who would be on the chopping block would be them. Unless… someone gave them the confidence to not care.

It’s been more than 10 hours since he got separated and he is still not found. The royal family would never hire useless people to serve them. The smell of scheme wafted through, and a realization came through. Someone is after him.

Why and who would be shameless enough to scheme on a 7-year-old kid?

Without a clue and unable to understand what the hell is going on… He can’t help but understand that he’s helpless.

There’s a limit to how much he can do since he’s still young. The lack of exposure from knowing and getting a hold of information about the royal family’s business is not impossible, but who would believe that a child would understand anything. No one will tell him anything for sure.

He’s completely ignorant of anything around him.

There’s only one thing he can do now and that is to become strong. Get strong that no one would question him despite his age and get a proper authority as a prince of Alistaire.

New Goal: Be a badass kid!

Thinking this far, with an exasperated sigh, Drei reached for the black book. He pried the book open only to find out that he can’t.

“Why is it so tightly shut?”

He played around with it some more, but it still won’t budge.

“How am I supposed to learn this skill book?”

He slammed the book to the ground with frustration, when a sound of an angry growl invaded the surroundings. He hurriedly reached for the book and hugged it… “Ah! I’m sorry little book, I won’t slam you to the ground ever again!”

Mors: …….

Suddenly, slow heavy steps can be heard. “Master! Be careful!”

Drei’s body hunched slightly due to some unknown pressure. He looked to his left and saw a giant, red-eyed, gray wolf with a silver armor and helmet walking toward him. The red gem in the middle of its head shining brightly as a pop-up suddenly appeared.

Yin Lang (Boss)

(New Quest – Kill the ruler of Wolves and Kai Yu Forest. Complete to survive, fail and you die.)

[Accept]

“Complete to survive…. Fail and you die?!” This damned luck!

Pro-tip: Never call anyone fat.

“Complete to survive, fail and you die.”

Thank you captain obvious! You shitty system! Of course I’ll die if I don’t kill this beast!

I know that it is stupid to think about useless things when there’s a big bad wolf right in front me... how I wish I did not mock little red for being an idiot letting herself be eaten by a wolf. This is karma!

“M…Mors! Shouldn’t you step out being my holy beast and all…?”

“Master… I can’t step out unless you call for me. You need to learn how to summon me first.”

Ah… how useless… what holy beast? Not only do I still not know why I’m here, what happened to my original body and if this is all just a dream… but everything so far points to things being my new reality.

Feeling all hopeless, Drei picked up his sword and stood firmly on his feet.

It’s not like I have no chance of surviving, I do have unreasonable healing skill-set.

As the wolf perked its ears and looks over, Drei rushes forward with his hands tightly grasping the sword. “Here goes nothing!” He swings his sword and misses as the wolf uses its left paw to move the sword away. Drei kept attacking while the wolf sat comfortably on the grass, swatting away all his attacks like a fly.

Wha... what the hell?!

“Take me seriously you fat dog!”

The wolf seems to understand what Drei just shouted and let out a growl filled with killing intent. The pressure was strong enough to make him cower and hunch over. Shit! Why am I even taunting it?!

As he realized the mistake he has done, he couldn’t help but take a step back as he clings to his sword and run. “AH! I knew it was bad to call anyone fat!”

Author: Let’s take a moment of silence for our dear Drei. Boys and girls, showing fear to a wild beast is one of the many things you should never do. Running away from one is even worse.

Mors couldn’t help but let out a long sigh. “My dear master…”

“Shut up! I know what you want to say! But how do you expect me to fight that thing by myself?! You can’t even be useful to me!”

As he ran for the forest, Yin Lang caught up to him in mere seconds. The wolf reached for his back with its claws, leaving a deep and painful wound on him. The seven year old body is still too sensitive to any pain that rendered Drei to fall front and breathless.

The pain was too much that he felt like his lungs were about to explode. Now bloodied and muddled, he doesn’t even have the strength heal himself.

“Master! Don’t fall asleep! Hurry and heal yourself! Master…!!!”

The surroundings were slowly being swallowed by darkness as Drei start to feel sleepy and comfortable.

Ah… I’m so tired, I can finally sleep peacefully…

Just as he was about to sleep a sudden bright light flashed before him.

Standing in front of him was a beautiful child, white jade-like skin, dark brown colored hair, perfectly sculpted lips that is slightly pink, and distinct dark purple eyes that is almost black. His eyes are clear and bright, comfortable yet intimidating.

Drei is struck with awe as he stared straight at the boy before him. The boy then took his steps moving closer to him with a warm and gentle smile. With a gasp, Drei couldn’t help but mutter “beautiful…”

Damned me! My straight 24-year-old soul has a crush on a beautiful little boy! Too sinful! This kid is too sinful! I’m so shameless… Uwaaah! Forgive me mama!

As he berated himself and fought with his inner demons, the beautiful boy greeted him. “Hello Drei, don’t die on me yet, it’s the first time we are meeting face to face after-all. Even though I have been watching you this whole time.”

The boy’s voice was like a gentle and beautiful bell that reverberates to the body of anyone who listens to it. Drei couldn’t help but let out a blush with his heart palpitating. “H…hello.”

Uwaaah! Enough! Mama help meee! My soul will never be saved if this goes on… uwaaah! Is this kid trying to seduce me?! He even knows my name! What do you mean by watching me this……..

“Wait… you’ve been watching me this whole time?” Finally composed, the boy before couldn’t help but let out a giggle. “Hehe… you finally got to the point.”

The boy stood up straight and put his right hand on his chest as he introduced himself.

“Boy, I’m Turae the God of Life and Death, the creator of all things.”

“So… it’s really you.”

“Yes, it is me.”

Drei’s mouth twitched as he took a step closer to Turae, when suddenly he threw a punch. Turae being caught off-guard, was still a god and managed to evade beautifully.

“How dare yo-”

“HOW DARE YOU EVADE, YOU SHITTY GOD!” Drei screamed at the top of his lungs which made Turae dumbfounded and surprised.

“You… you do realize that I’m a god and you dare say I’m shitty?!” He puffed in anger.

“I DARE! What kind of god would just dump a soul from another world into a seven year old boy lost in the forest only to meet with a crazy wolf with a holy useless beast?! Gee~ thanks for your “healing skills” how do you expect me to kill a beast with such skills? Heal the beast to death?! MAKE SOME SENSE, GOD!”

Turae couldn’t help but be taken aback by such treatment from a human. For centuries, whenever he shows himself to a mortal, they would kneel before him with praises. Heartfelt smiles and tears with joy would always be given to him as thanks for his presence and blessing. But this… this child is different. Interesting...

“Anything too much is never good. Perhaps, you could really kill the beast by healing him.” He said intriguingly.

“What… do you mean? Healing too much can kill someone?” Drei asked with intrigue and child-like curiosity.

“It’s something for you to find out, little one. You’re in a world where magic exists.”

“Magic…” thinking further from that word, magic is something that never existed in the world where I lived in, however, the word itself existed. It was mostly depicted as trickery or imagination, technically, anything can be considered magic if we go with imagination. And to consider something as magic would require more than just trickery, you’ll need to be creative.

Creative. As the word echoed in Drei’s mind he instinctively looked back at Turae. As the god noticed his enlightened and serious face, he thought… Not bad, as the god of creation, this one is pretty good.

“Hehe… you found something of high value. As expected of the soul I have blessed.” Turae smugly chimed.

“Are you saying… I could change the spells into something entirely different? Creating a new skill?”
