You Are Mine

chapter one

Creature broke into my life! My uncle and his wife died in an unfortunate accident two months ago, leaving their only daughter (Raghad), who is almost three years old... to live as an orphan for life. At first, the little girl stayed in her aunt's house to take care of her, but, given her aunt's family circumstances, everyone agreed that my father would join her with us and take care of her from now on. My brothers and I are still young, and because I am the eldest of them, I suddenly turned into a (a mature and responsible man) after Raghad came to our house. We were waiting for my little dad to come back, (Samer) and (Dana) were very happy because a new member would join them and play with them! As for my mother, she was nervous and worried. It didn't mean much to me, or so I thought! My father finally arrived.. before he entered the room where we were sitting, we heard the sound of Raghad screaming! Samer and Dana jumped for joy and ran towards the door, “Baba, Papa… Finally!” Dana said as she jumped towards my father, who was holding Raghad on his arm and trying to calm her down, but when Raghad saw us, her screams increased and the house resounded with her sharp voice! I sighed and said to myself: "Oh! Here we are!" In fact, we had a hard and annoying time with this little girl that day. “Where will the baby sleep?” my father asked my mother that evening. “With Samer and Dana in their room!” Dana jumped for joy at this, but my father said, “No way, Umm Walid! Let’s keep her with us for a few nights until she gets used to the atmosphere of the house, I’m afraid she will wake up at night and panic while we are away from her!” It seems that my mother liked the idea, and she said: “You are right, then let us move the bed to our room.” Then she turned to me: “Walid, move the Raghad bed to our room.” My father objected: “I will move it, it is heavy!” My mother said: “But Walid Tough guy! He's the one who put him in the little guy's room anyway!" 'Strong guy' is a description I like a lot! My mother considered me a man when I was eleven years old! that's cool ! I did all my pride and went to my brother's room and moved the little bed to my father's room. When I returned to where the rest were sitting, I found the little girl sleeping peacefully! She must have been tired a lot after the hours of screaming and crying that she lived that day! I also felt tired, so I went to bed early. ~~~~~ I got up early the next day to the sound of screaming that pierced the walls of the room with its intensity! It's the annoying Raghad. I came out of my room complaining, and went to the kitchen from which my cousin's cries came out, "Mom! Shut up this creature, I want to sleep!" Let us sleep only two or three hours. Your father went to work without sleep!” Raghad was screaming and screaming non-stop. I tried to pet her a little and ask her: “What do you want, my little girl?” She did not answer! I tried to hold her and shake her... She attacked me with her sharp nails! Finally I brought her some Dana toys and she threw them out! She is a feisty child, will she always be in our house??? I wish they would bring it back to where it came from! Later, my parents was discussing about it . "If she continues like this, Abu Walid, she will get sick! What can I do for her?" This is my father, and he said: “No, Walid. She is my niece and I am responsible for taking care of her from now on. It is only a matter of time and she gets used to our house.” It seems that this time will not end... Several days have passed and the little girl is like this, and if she improves A little bit and she played with Dana and Samer somewhat funky. My mother was very patient with her, I used to watch her take care of her, feed her, clean her, dress her, comb her thin, soft hair! With the days, the little girl accepted her new family, and she no longer woke up screaming, and Walid (the strong man) had to move this creature's bed to the children's room! After she slept peacefully, my mother carried her to her bed in its new position. My brothers had fallen asleep an hour or so ago. The little girl deposited her bed quietly. My mother left the door open so that if she got up and started screaming, Raghad could reach her. I said, "No need, Mom! The voice of this creature goes through the walls! Keep it shut!" Well, how I love hearing beautiful compliments from my mother! I became a hero in her eyes! This is great...so cool! And quickly it grew well at night relieved of mind . The thing that got me up and put me to sleep was a voice I got used to hearing lately. It's the crying of prosperity! I tried to ignore it but to no avail ! Oh, this Raghad...! when will you silence her, Mom ! It took a long time, I couldn't stand it anymore, I came out of my room angry and with my intention to complain strongly to my mother, but I noticed that the sound was coming from my brother's room Yes, yesterday I moved her bed there! I went to my brother's room, and the door was almost closed, and I found the child in her bed crying without either of them noticing her! my mother was not with her . I approached her and took her from the bed, carried her on my shoulder and began to pat her and try to calm her down. And because she kept crying, I took her out of the room and wandered around the house for a little while, she didn't seem to be intent on being silent! I have to wake my mother so she can act... I was on my way to my mother's room to wake her up, but... she stopped in the middle of the road, went back... and went into my room and shut the door. My mother has not tasted rest since this little girl came to us. And my father does not sleep enough because of it. Will not disturb their sleep this time ! I sat on my bed and started petting the little one

Chapter II

Every night I read a short story to my little Raghad before bed. And this is the last night that Raghad sleeps in my room, three years after she came home. Three years of care, pampering and love I gave to my little girl, like any mother or father! She is now 6 years old and we have enrolled her in school this year and she has been very happy! Every day when you come back you tell me dozens of things you saw or learned in school. And every day, after her lunch, I taught her her simple lessons, and she was a good student! After completing the lessons, my little girl takes her coloring book and color box, sits on her bed and begins to color quietly, almost quietly! "Walid color with me!" "And Led color with me!" This time I noticed her sharp voice, I looked at her and smiled! I used to color with her a lot in this notebook or something else! And she's happily flying when she watches me while I'm coloring! Kids...just kids! “Okay,” I said, and I was about to get up from my bed and go to her, but she quickly jumped out, her notebook and her color box, and landed on my bed in two seconds! She started, as usual, by choosing for me the page you want me to color. It was a drawing of a little girl carrying a schoolbag! "Baby... why don't you color this one? She looks like you!" I told her, and she smiled and turned over her notebook in search of something. Then she said: "There is no boy like you! I'll draw you!" She grabbed the pen and took (draw me) in one The pages ... How funny the drawing was, and I noticed that it drew a long line down the nose! “What is that??” “A mustache!” “What!? But I don’t have a mustache!” “When you grow up like my dad you will have such a long mustache because you are tall!” I laughed as much as she did! My height has increased significantly lately, and it looks like I'm going to be taller than my dad! We then colored the two pictures (the little Raghad, and Walid the long mustache)! Who would have expected... that these two pictures would live with us... all that life...??? When it got dark, I moved Raghad's bed and other things to her new room. And how small and adjacent to my room . The little girl was so pleased that she had her own room like Dana and Dana could no longer (lent) her as she had always done. The relationship between these two girls was bad! For me, I was sad about this event... I want the little girl to stay with me and under my care more than that... It means a lot to me... My mother and I finished arranging things in the room, and Raghad helps us. Then my mother said, "Now, Raghad...you have a private room! Take good care of it!" We turned towards Dana, with eyes of anger. She does not leave an opportunity to harass Raghad, but she takes advantage of it. “But I am not alone, and I will not feel fear because Walid is close to me.” “But Walid is not your mother, nor your father, nor your brother! So you are alone.” This time my mother reprimanded Dana violently and ordered her to leave. I wanted to slap this vile girl, but I didn't want to complicate the matter further. I realize that things are getting worse between Dana and Raghad, and I don't know if the situation will change as soon as you grow up... I thought it was over in time, but it wasn't over... While I was in my sleep, I heard a voice that woke me up in terror. ... When I opened my eyes I saw the silhouette of someone standing next to me ... It was very dark and I was between sleep and awake ... Suddenly I woke up and my eardrums were able to pick up and distinguish the sound ... It was Raghad! I got up, and lit the lamp next door, and through its light, I caught a glimpse of tears streaming down the little girl's cheek... I extended my hand and felt her little face, and I was wet with tears... "Raghad! What's wrong with you, my dear?" Strong and sad crying cries... I haven't seen these precious tears for a long time... How can I see her in this condition?? "Raghad...Tell me what happened? Did you have a bad dream?" He did not give me a mother or a father? Is it true that this is not my home? Where is my house then I want to have a large and beautiful room like Dana’s room? I encircled the little girl in my arms and made her wipe her head and her tears and calm her condition. I did not imagine that such questions would be She spins in the head of a little girl at the age of six... She never mentioned anything like this to me before despite her endless chatter when she starts... "My little Raghad! What is this! Who told you that?" "Dana always says This...she doesn't love me...nobody loves me." I was pissed off at my naughty sister, tomorrow I'm going to scold her violently. Trying to calm the distressed little girl, I said, "Raghad, my sweet... Forget about Dana. She doesn't know what to say. I will stop her at her own pace. My father and mother are your father and your mother." She interrupted me: "Not right! Someone loves me.” “What about me, I’m Walid? Don’t I love you? Consider me your mother and father and everything.” Raghad stopped crying and looked at me a little, then said, “But you don’t have a moustache!” She laughed! This small girl ideas are extremely simple and spontaneous ! As for her, she smiled and wiped her tears... I said, "When I'm a little older, I'll have two mustaches as long as I painted! Did I forget!?" She smiled more and said, "Will you buy me a big house with a big and beautiful room that belongs to me?" I laughed again... and said: "Yes, sure! And you will become the mistress of the house!" The little girl smiled contentedly and hugged me with pleasure: "I love you so much, Walid!

Chapter III

Three things occupy my mind and worry me a lot at the moment: my studies and exams, little Raghad, and the deteriorating political situation in our town, which portends an imminent war! It's Wednesday, and I didn't go to school because my mother was a little unwell in the morning and chose to stay by her side. It's in good condition now, don't worry. I was sitting on the wooden chair behind my little desk, and a bunch of my books and notebooks were open and scattered over the desk. I spent many hours studying this day, but the three things did not leave my head. Studying is in my hands and I can control it, for here I am studying diligently the political situation of the country. It is not in my control and I cannot do anything about it! As for the little Raghad... she is in my hands... and I have no control over my affairs with her! And oh my goodness! It seems that thinking deeply about (some things) makes them jump out of your head and appear before your eyes! This is what happened when he knocked on the door and then opened quickly before giving the imposed opportunity to respond to the knocker and allow him to enter or not! “Walid, walid, walid!” Raghad suddenly jumped like a bird from the entrance to the room directly in front of my office, calling me and talking quickly while extending her hand holding one of her textbooks towards me! "Walid, the teacher taught us how to make a wish box. Come on, help me quickly make one big enough for all my wishes!" I looked at her and smiled and I was surprised by her order! Hey, hey, when did you come back from school?” She answered me hurriedly, reaching out and holding my hand, wanting me to get up: “I’m back now, look at the way in this page. Come on, make me a big box!” She took the book from her hand and I took a look! It's a lesson that teaches kids how to make a cylindrical figure out of paper! And this little girl came to me smashing like a rocket, wanting me to make one! Think about it and smile! And since I know her well, I am sure that she will not calm down until I carry out her orders! I said, "Okay, my little lady! I'm going to look among my things for strong paper that will fit this!" Half an hour later, before us was a beautiful cylinder decorated with pasted stamps, with a hole in the top that allowed coins, paper money, and paper wishes to enter as well! Raghad flew joy this great achievement ! And she took the cylindrical box and ran towards the door! “Where are you going?” I asked her, and she answered me without stopping or turning to me: “I will show her Samer!” And I left... The happy moments I had just spent with the little girl while we were making the box, sticking stamps, and laughing cheerfully are over.. What kind of madness is this to make me think and act on the basis that this child is my thing?? How silly I am! I waited for her to come back, but she didn't come back... She must have got lost in Samer and forgot about me! You even forgot to tell me (thank you)! Or to close the door ! not important ! I will expel this disturbing thought from my imagination and devote myself to my books ... or even ... to the country's political issues, as this is more useful! An hour later, Raghad came back... The box was still in her hand, and in her other hand was a pen. She approached me and said: "Walid...write the word (safety box) on the box!" She took the box and the pen and wrote the word, and returned them to her without any comment or even a smile. I turned my eyes from her to the book in front of me above the desk, waiting for her to leave. You must be aware that she did not thank me! “Walid…” I slowly raised my eyes to her, she was smiling, her cheeks slightly rosy! It must be realized that she did not thank me ! I said in a somewhat dry tone: “What now?” “Did you not give me a small piece of paper?” It seemed that the idea of my thanks did not even cross her mind! She took my little notebook on the desk, took a white sheet of paper from it, and handed it to Raghad. The little one took it and said quickly: “Thank you!” Then she walked away… I thought she would go out, but she went towards my bed, sat on it, and on the table next to her ( The box) and the paper... and she started writing! I forced my eyes to return to the abandoned book ... but my mind remained tied to that table! "Walid..." she called me again and I let my eyes go to her... "Yes?" She asked me: "How do I write the word (when)?" I looked around me looking for the small (board) on which Raghad taught how to write words, and I found it lying on one of the shelves of the library, so I got up to get it, but Raghad quickly jumped up and brought it to me before I moved! I took it from her, and wrote with the pen on the tablet the word (when). Raghad contemplated her, then returned to the table... Seconds later, she raised her head to me... "Walid!" "Yes, my little girl?" "How do I write the word (big)?" She wrote the word in a large font on the board, and raised it to look at him. Seconds later, then she asked me again: "Walid!" I smiled! Her way of pronouncing my name and calling me from one moment to another makes anyone smile! “What, my princess?” “How do I write the word (will)?” I wrote the word and showed it to her, my little girl had only recently begun to learn to write words in interlaced letters, and she knew little of it... I kept watching her and meditating on her with pleasure and kindness! How innocent, simple and spontaneous! What a girl ! She raised her head and found me looking at her. She immediately asked: "How do I write the word (marry)?" I stared at Raghad with interest and amazement... Did she say (I'm getting married)?? I get married! Do you not notice that the word (big) a bit! Rather very big! I asked her to make sure: “What is Raghad?” She said very simply: “I’m getting married! How do I write it?”
