Chapter 1
It was a beautiful morning, warm and sweet. It had been raining for past few days and today finally the sun was up.
It was peaceful everywhere but the Garcia mansion was filled with a loud wailing.
Arturo had his little daughter's soft ear between his rough fingers. He was looking at her in pure anger while she was sobbing uncontrollably.

"You did it again didn't you? You can't do one simple thing. How difficult is it to prepare pasta?"
He twisted her ear, making her whimper in pain. The entire family looked at the little girl, her mother, sisters and aunts scared and her uncles and abuelo angry.

"Padre, the.. the.. pot was too heav..heavy.. i tried to.. but burned my fing.. fingers.."

Her mother looked at beads of tears rolling down her pale cheeks which had now turned red. She stepped in hus direction, and spoke in a small voice.

Elisa's eyes went wide with fear. She didn't want to back there, it was so dirty, and there were so many rats. Also the last time she was there for two days without food or water.

By now small drops of tera had started to fall from beautiful doe eyes. She sniffled a bit, Elisa wrapped her tiny arms around her neck. If it wasn't for her aunt, she'd be lying in the cold dingy based.
She started crying in her embrace. Apologizing over and over. If it wasn't for her, her father wouldn't have slapped her aunt.

Teresa was frustrated. It had been seven years of her marriage and she had given birth to two girls. Since last three years she was unable to get pregnant. And Hugo desperately wanted a son.
He abused her every night and was getting more violent. She didn't get any rest and was irritated. Since, she couldn't do anything to her husband, her anger was taken out on her daughters and she had started hating them.
Juana had a son and a daughter. Daniella had a daughter and two sons while she was pregnant with third son. And she had none. Which ticked Hugo off even more.

Anna was in the backyard, lying on a bench and crying softly. Her sobs were barely audible. Catalina gently stroked her head making her look up.
