The good life

I said him to read the paragraph in the paper that I handed to him; he looked at the page and read the content out loud,

“This wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t transferred to the school, I wouldn’t have been here laughing and enjoying these moments if my parents hadn’t got the transfer, I wouldn’t have had such a good life filled with everything if it hadn’t been for my friends.

All had been so good until that one day, that one day which left me without any traces of everything. Everything vanished within a blink of an eye.”

After reading it, he turned to me and asked me which day? Having most innocent and cute expression that I had ever seen. And I answered with a smile that, it was just a story’s prologue or that’s what I hoped it would be.

Chapter 1

It all began in the summer of the year, the most unexpected year, the year I was going to enter my most crucial life turning point… I gained some things and I lost few things… whatever, but that was the most memorable year in my life… that was the year 20xx.

I was having my summer vacation; my parents planned a trip to my hometown… I remember that I was not very comfortable with travelling. I slept all lot during the travel, but most of the time when I was awake I remember hearing only one name more frequently, the name which I’ll never forget in my life, his name, Ryan Saiofe. This made me think about him so much that I literally couldn’t divert myself onto anything else.

Ryan, one of my classmates from my school; the topper of our class, the one who was everyone’s proudness in the school. I had a very good impression on him at the beginning. He was tall with light brown eyes and light brownish black hair. He was bold, funny, cute with an innocent look on his face, but trust me he wasn’t so innocent. It was obvious to like him when he reminded me of my best friend, Zack so much. Yes, that was the start for my journey of Bella vita, good life.

I transferred to Madrid public school because of my parents, I left many of my best friends when I transferred schools, and the worse thing was that I had a crush on my best friend Zack. And I missed him very much.

I joined in the new school with a hope of making very good friends, with a hope of having lot of fun, with a hope to do something new, something better than last time. The first time when I entered the school with my mom it had been a very decent and quite school. I had not seen any school so quiet and kind of good in my hometown. I had thought the school would be much disciplined, and it actually turned out to be opposite of what I thought.

The first day of the school wasn’t so bad. There were only few people in the class, as the first period was arithmetic. I asked the teacher permission to get inside, he handed me the schedule for the further class activities. I sat in last possible seat. There was no introduction done, hence it wasn’t as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. After the class a boy came to me with a bright smile. He was cute with blond hair and light brown eyes with the same skin tone of mine. He introduced himself as Jack. His name was as cute as he looked. I said, “Hi, I’m Maple.”

He walked me up to my next classroom. He was quite talkative unlike me, so it was not so awkward. My next class was biology. I saw Mr Jin. He was quite a youngster; I bet half of the girls in our school would have had a crush on him. He handed me the text book for today’s experiment. It was quite a boring experiment; I was waiting for the class to complete soon. When the class was over the girl next to me introduced herself to me as Alison. She was taller and fairer than me, looked like a very good girl. It was almost lunch time, so she took me to introduce to her friends. I saw Jack also in the gang. There were approximately 15 to 16 people in the cafeteria, everyone was introducing themselves I couldn’t remember all their names, but everyone were unique in their own way.

After the lunch in other two classes I had to sit with Jack and Alison. The last class was library; few of the people whom I met during the lunch joined me in the library. That was the time when he introduced himself to me, he said “Hello, Maple right? I’m Ryan, we meet in the lunch period remember?” He had an innocent look on his face, I replied, “Sorry but I don’t quite remember you from the lunch break, I couldn’t catch up with the names. But it is nice to meet you.” He asked about me; where I was from? Do I like here? Is it comfortable around? Did I have any trouble with other? I answered as much as I could, but I understood one thing, he sure did care about other person, a lot.

After the school I returned home and explained my mother whatever happened. A little later I went to a shop to buy some groceries, there I saw Jack and Ryan talking, well I assumed that they might be very good friends. They saw me and waved their hands, I smiled in response. Jack came to me and said, “Maple, you live around?” I replied as yes, Ryan joined the conversation “Then why don’t you join us in Lucy’s birthday?” I said, “I’ll talk to my mother and inform you, but I am not familiar with the routes.” Jack said, “Just share your number, inform me when you are ready, I’ll pick you up. How does that sound?” I said ok and then we shared our numbers.

After saying them goodbye I came to my home and talked to my mom about the party… surprisingly my mom agreed. I was so excited that I called Jack right away. After 5 minutes Jack was at my home’s footstep to pick me up.
