Kira and Lia are sitting in the living room watching T.V. when their other room mate Emma walks in from her long day. See we are all struggling actresses living in an all girls dorm with other girls who are also trying to become actresses, models and anything else that has to do with entertainment .

"Hey, any luck today, Emma?" asked Kira.

"No, I went to 15 places today. Everyone was out or at meetings. This search is getting on my nerves. I have been to every entertainment agency in town, and I always get the same answer: the producers are in meetings, out to lunch, or there are no auditions available." she says.

"I get the same answers." said Lia "Why is this so hard?" Flopping down on a chair in the corner.

"It is hard because the passion we have for this won't let us give up." says Emma.

Lia sighs "I guess so, I am just ready for my star to shine. So I can get paid." Rubbing her hands together.

Kira and Emma laugh.

Emma shakes her head "What happened to passion?"

"I still have passion, just ready to get paid." says Lia. "Kira, what company are you hoping to sign with?"

Kira shrugs "I really do not care. As long as it is not a porn company I will sign with anyone. You two have been trying to be signed for a year. I have been trying for four years. When I do get signed it will be worth all the struggle."

"I understand, Kira" says Emma "You will be a star soon. All the struggle and hard work will be worth it."

Lia chuckles lightly "You intend to struggle, sore feet all day and waiting in lobbies? Just so the staff can tell you they are in meetings after waiting for hours?"

"If that is what I need to do." Emma narrowed her eyes on her.

"It doesn't seem right, why does this have to be so hard? There has to be an easier way to get noticed." she said.

"There is one way." Kira says, raising her eyebrow.

"No thank you, I haven't given up yet." Lias states

Emma gets up from the couch. "Well I am hungry, let's all go get something to eat, my treat."

They walk down the side street to the bar at the corner.

"Kira, you said you will give up in a few more months, what will you do if it doesn't work out and you don't sign with anyone?" ask Lia.

Whispering "I don't know. But I would rather die than return to my old life."

After they finished eating and drinking a few beers. They headed back to their dorm room. Back in the dorm room Kira and Emma head to their room. Lia's phone rings while she is in the living room.

"Hello" She answers.

"Hello, Miss Lia?" says the voice.

"Yes, That is me." She says

" My name is Mr. Kylen Roy." He says

Surprised "Mr. Kylen Roy?!" looking down at her phone. "Am I dreaming? Are you serious?"

He chuckles "Our office Made an audition tape of you a few weeks ago. We sent it out to some casting offices we work with." he said.

"Ok thank you sir." She says biting her lip nervously.

He smiles on the other end of the phone. "Well the good news is one of the companies we sent it to liked your audition."

"Really? They liked it?" she ask

"Yes they did. In fact they would like for you on set as soon as possible. If you are not working on another project."

She jumps up and down. "I am not busy."

"Great, I will inform them you will be there. You have to be there at 8pm tonight."

She starts to squeal. "I will be there at 730pm just to be early."

Emma comes to the living room. "Lia, have you seen my necklace?"

Lia holds a finger to her lips to hush her friend.

"Ok, that will be all Miss Lia, Have a great night. Mr. Roy says and hangs up.

"Guess what Emma, that was Kylen Roy on the phone. I got a part." She smiles widely. "He sent my audition tape and they want me on set tonight." She says happily.

"That is super awesome girl. Let's celebrate later." Emma says hugging her friend.

Just as the excitement was dying down Emma's phone rings. "Hello" she answers.

"May I speak to Miss Emma please?" says the voice

She frowns "This is she. May I ask who is speaking?" she asks.

"This is Mr. Kylen Roy from Abutilon Entertainment." He says "Seen your resume and would like you to come to Abutilon's office to record an audition tape for us."

"Really?!" she asks with a shocked expression.

"Yes, please be at the office at 9am tomorrow." Say Mr. Roy.

"Thank you Mr. Roy I will be there.'' She hangs up the phone. Looking over at Lia They both start to squeal in excitement again.

A few days later, Emma is running into her dorm room.

Yelling excitedly "Kira, Kira! Are you home?"

Kira comes from the bathroom wiping her hands with a towel. "I am right here. What is going on?" she asks

Catching her breath. "I got a big part today. The actress that was supposed to play the third female lead got fired today."

"That is great, Emma." She said with a huge smile. "So you are signed with Abutilon Entertainment?"

"Hell no, They never called me back after I went to do the tape." She says with a huff. "I went to Mr. Jonas office- -"

Kira's eyes went wide with amazement "Mr. Jonas? He is the biggest producer right now."

...*It is ok to say NO, not only children need to hear it. Adults need to hear it too.*...

Emma nods her head up and down quickly. "I was waiting for him outside the building, when he walked out of his car. I stopped him in his tracks, I asked him how he is a producer if he never sees any new actors and actresses. He looked at me and there were about four other people waiting to be seen as well. "I told him all of us are looking for a chance to prove that we are just as great, but we have not had a chance to shine." She stops to take a breath.

Kira sitting with her jaw floored in shock that her friend spoke to someone with great influence in that manner. "Then what happened?"

"He said he was a busy man and had people to handle the new recruits." Say Emma "Then I told him his people are always busy with meetings or out to lunch at 1030am. He looked pissed when I said that."

Flash back to this morning at Brassica Agency.

"That is not possible. The doors to this agency are always open to new talent." Says Mr. Jonas

"That is what everyone here thought as well." Pointing to the crowd. "But we don't get an appointment or any calls. We wait here for hours for days. Still we are not seen by anyone." Says Emma.

Mr. Jonas looks over at the front desk and calls over a lady named Angie. "Have you seen these people before?" Angie looks at all of them and lowers her head

"Yes sir, they all have come here multiple times." She says with her eyes on the ground.

"WHY HAVE THEY NEVER BEEN SEEN BY THE TEAM WHO HANDLES NEW RECRUITS?" He shouts

"I-I-I was told not to send any new recruits by Mr. Colson." She said

"Oh really?" he looks at her "Look me in the eye and say that again."

She looks him in the eyes and repeats what she had said.

Turning to his assistant. "Cancel all my meetings until noon. I will see all of them personally and you know how to handle the other situation."

"Yes sir," Says the assistant.

"Alright let's get started on all of your auditions. The time will be short and I am sorry about it. But I am a busy man." He apologizes to the crowd.

"That is alright sir, we will do our best in the time you give us." Emma says smiling.

End of flashback.

"Ok, but how did you get the third lead?" ask Kira

"Oh right, they were looking for someone to replace her for a few days. After my audition Mr. Jonas was impressed by it so he called the studio and I headed right over to start filming. There were only a few scenes today, so I came home." She explains

"I am so happy for you, Emma" she gives her a hug.

"Thank you. It is late so I will go to bed early. I have to be back at 8am." She turns to leave to go to her room.

Kira watches as she closes the door to her room and starts to cry. Thinking to herself, I have been looking for work for years and she gets something in a year. Why am I not that lucky?
