The kingdom of the water God in the south [ gorgons Children Of Phorcys And Ceto ] was going through a cold war with The kingdom of the fire god in the east [Eate also the storm god] due to lack of love between the nations.

The world , divided in the four nations water, fire, ice and sky often fell into disputes with each other on silly topics resulting in wars and bloodshed. We civilians who at times didn’t even know the reasons to kill do sins of not our will and lose more than happiness.

The kings were gifted with the divine power, which was generation after generation passed onto the other from the Royal family, the four dragon gods kept there eyes on the kingdoms but only found disappointment, and then one day the sky colour changed from blue to reddish yellow to violet to green, many thought that it was the end of the world but one day after the incident the royal family members died.

Civilians were in fragments, some paralyzed and many perplexed with anger.

The palace was nothing but a haunted house to each one, no one dared to go near it. After twenty five years of prayer, plead and petition the dragon gods appeared again, this time with huge eggs they were all beautiful.

Five years later the eggs cracked and inside them were the human kids, in them was the royal blood.

Each possessed a power different from the other.

Th doubts and suspicions were all cleared.

The nations were again being ruled under great kings-men-ship. Their beauty was incomparable. They grew up, got married and had children. The first Child was the crown prince but many civilians were not sure about the heirs.

People suspected it as no one wanted the cold war again nor did they want the glory to vanish. Many people rebelled and many with fear in their eyes left the kings’ landing to live on the countryside. People didn't want to lose more than what they had already lost.

To calm people down , the great divine kings summoned the dragon gods and asked for many solutions. After the young offspring turned two years old, the dragon gods themselves spoke from above the beauty of the clouds, “These four princes will have to get married before they turn fifteen, and go through many tests and hardships with their beloved wives who shall be a mere country girl, and live together with each other with peace and glory. If they win the confidence of the people before they are twenty-five years old,they will be succeeding the iron throne after their fathers and their failure is in hands of the people.For the test, the four prince have to live together for ten years in our landing and you all will be truly informed of their actions with time."

Time passed and the four princes were about to be fourteen.

Their mothers feared concubines & fathers feared them not finding a wife.

Every one was eager to know what would happen next including me but who knew the curse was spell upon no one else but me and three others.

WATER KINGDOM

[Cressida’s pov]

I, Cressida Agnes am the daughter of the richest man in the poorest city in the country. Who thought that I will be the cursed one to be sent to the palace of the water kingdom for my engagement with Prince Aegeus . According to the rumors he is the most coldblooded and heartless man in water kingdom. Once a maid offended him so he made her whole family be exiled. No one has seen him but I have heard that he is nothing less than a monster.

I was in my room , waiting for mother Gina to call me to the court of my father. He has had five wives. My mother was his second concubine, she committed suicide as father stopped loving her because she did not give birth to a boy but to me. Mother hated me for being a girl. Mother Gina was the one who loved me. She was my father’s fourth concubine. She did not wish to marry him but her brother left her no option. Her brother sold her as a bargain with my father. She had a son, Kenneth, with another man before her marriage to my father.

Her son’s existence is kept a secret. Only I and my lady-in-waiting, Acacia Nikoloudis know about him. She is the only one who truly loves me after Acacia and her son Kenneth Snow. Brother Kenneth is five years older to me.

“Cress, Cressida!!” there is a slight knock on the door by mother Gina.

Acacia opened the door and mother came running to me and hugged me tightly, “It is funny how my young daughter is going to be the Queen of the kingdom. (tears in her eyes) The people from the palace have arrived with Lady Stellia. Here is a brief detail about her. She is the most recent wife of the king and has given birth to baby prince Basile (1 year old). She is extremely sweet from the outside but cruel and crooked from inside. She is a vicious lady so be careful. I will try to make visits to you before you leave for the testing and will pray thee to let my daughter have a happy marriage.”

“Oh mother!! I’d miss you too.” I tell her.

“I’ll try to convince your father to send Kenneth as your guard . Do not worry much about us and remember that the palace is filled with mean and willful people. What they are aiming at is really hard to tell. You have to play your own game of chess out there young lady!” Mother Gina said.

“Oh god! don’t worry I’ll handle it.” I reply irritated of her always telling me this.

“That’s the one thing I’m the most worried about.” She giggles.

And then mother Gina and Acacia both burst out laughing at me.

“Meaniessss!!!!” I say while pouting.

“Just remember not to be to get the taste of freedom too soon or else it might end up hurting you.” Mother Gina tells me.

“Mother this might sound foolish but it’s dangerous being free and most come to like the taste of it. I am one of those.” I told mother Gina.

AFTER a talk with mother Gina I was asked to attend my father’s court as lady Stellia had been waiting for a while.

I asked Acacia to get my belongings and went straight to the court with mother Gina.

I hadn’t even entered the court that lady Stellia asked me to sit in the cart, “oh dear! We have wasted enough of our time, we will take at least three days to reach the capital. And then in the evening you will be engaged to the Prince.”

I didn’t even get to meet my family that I was rushed in to the cart. Acacia was already there sitting in front with the horseman.

AFTER sitting out there for a while when the horseman saw that the other royal carts were at a distance, he stopped the vehicle. At first I thought he was an assassin but then I heard another man’s voice and realized it was Prince Andrei. Acacia in her innocence threw a dagger in his direction and as expected of him, he got hold of it and entered the cart.

He sat at a distance from me so as to respect the future queen.

He wished me and so did I, then he handed down a scroll to me.

It said,

“Dear Cressida,

Let me tell you that Lady Stellia might try hurting you, so do not be off guard.

Sometimes, the wicked will tell us things just to confuse us. That’s how this palace is like.

As my queen, I am sending my brother for your protection and I am looking forward To meet you.

-Prince Aegeus.”

After reading it and processing every bit of it I looked at Prince Andrei who was looking at Acacia. I cleared my throat , “ Prince Andrei, it is my pleasure to have you here with us. I apologize on behalf of Acacia my lady in waiting. She was just doing her job and mistook you as an assassin.”

When Acacia heard his name, she got nervous and looked behind to apologize to him , he smirked then looked at me, “The apology has been accepted. Her commitment to her job has made me have a fancy to her.”

“Prince Andrei, I apologize for being rude but I am not like many other girls you talk to, or who would laugh or giggle on your flirtious jokes, which don’t even make sense. I am true to my lady because of her warm character. Please do not say such phrases about me again.” Acacia said.

It must have reminded her of Fredrick, a man who ended up marrying a rich noble lady and left her.

“Then lets make a bet Ms. Acacia , if Prince Aegeus allows me then I would like to marry you and make you my lovely wife.”

Even I was shocked at such a poor proposal. A man like Prince Andrei is a play boy, whom every girl dreams about.

Acacia looked at him wide eyed and then turned her gaze at me.

She was angry, scared and only thought of how Fredrick cheated on her at this point of time. She really can not trust a man again easily.

Her eyes told me to talk to the Prince after going back which was understood by me. She was of my age but like my older sister who always protected me. Once she was even about to lose her life but she only cared for me, I could never imagine letting anyone hurt her.

After reaching the palace early in the morning, I was told that the house of PHOENIX [where the queen lives] is my future house but currently I had to stay in the house of ROSES [house for the princess].

< Every Royal member is alloted a different house which is made inside the palace, its infrastructure shows the importance of the member. House of Phoenix holds the most importance than any other house. >

I had my engagement in two hours. The queen had especially come to visit my room and given me a beautiful dress to wear.

I wanted to meet Prince Aegeus as soon as possible. No one had ever seen him, it just made me more curious.

Prince Andrei had told me that even his mother and father had never seen him after he was 5 years old. Only Prince Andrei, Prince Adonis and Prince Zoe had seen him. They were his closest brothers. He had 15 brothers though and 2 sisters.

He never allowed anyone else to see him.

Even his food was served to him by his closest brothers.

“My lady, can I come in please?” It was acacia’s voice with a knock on the door.

“You may come in.” I said in a calm tone. [ even though my stomach had a lot of butterflies in it.]

I wasn’t excited about my engagement but I really wanted to know which kind of a person I was getting married to. I wanted to know if the rumours were true or not. I wouldn’t have felt this way if not for the scroll I received in the cart.

His handwriting was extremely beautiful and neat.

I remember Mother Gina telling me he was a neat freak. Maybe it’s true.

I was giggling to myself that I realized Acacia is giving me creep looks.

“Hey girl, you haven’t even met him that you are behaving like this, what will happen if you meet him. I just heard two maids talking about how Prince bought you some clothes but a maid kept them in the wrong wardrobe, so the prince fired her whole family and relatives who worked in the palace.” Acacia said.

Maybe the maid offended the Prince in some other way and there is a misunderstanding about it. Before arriving at the Capital I would have believed it but now its sceptical.

“Forget it and let’s take a bath.” I told her.

“ok” she said. Lady in waiting could only serve their lady but our case had always been different. We were more like sisters from far apart who were connected by the hearts.

After bathing, Acacia helped me wear the dress, then wore her dress. I had gifted her that dress. She looked cute.

30 minutes were still left before going to the main hall, so we ended up talking about Prince Andrei and Prince Aegeus.

We made up stories about how to prank on them and laughed it out.

There was a knock on the door, “My lady, You have to visit the House of Aster before the ceremony.”

HOUSE OF ASTER, are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!

Prince Aegean stays there. How can I go there before the engagement!!!!!!!!!!

“Are you sure?!” I asked the girl.

“Yes Princess Cressida.” She replied.

For a second I was nervous but then I heard Prince Andrei laughing outside my house. No man other than my husband is aloud to step inside the room without the written consent of my husband. These were the basic rules over here.

I cannot show my face to anyone before I do to Aegean, so I cover it.

I step outside and tell the maid to lead the way, ignoring Prince Andrei. We had become quite close in the cart.

Acacia was about to follow but Prince Andrei stopped her,“ Acacia, I don’t allow you to wear this, there are other men out there as well.” he told her.

She tried ignoring him but he picked her up and went off somewhere in my house.

He dare not do something to her or I’d kill him.
