Early in the morning,Mary(a girl with long blonde shiny hair and azure blue eyes) woke up from her slumber.She sat up in her bed and rubbed her eyes, yawning.After a while of dozing off,she got out of bed and opened the curtains.Ray of light shone through the windows as she slowly wobble tiredly into the restroom.

After a few minutes,she came out of the restroom and dressed into her working suit.She walked into the corridor and down the stairs.Then,She turned left into the kitchen and cooked breakfast.

She ate her breakfast, leaving a plate of uneaten breakfast on the table.She looked at her phone while walking towards the living room and sat on the couch.She scrolled through her social media and saw a house advertisement.She ignored it and continued scrolling down.

She saw the advertisement again and again until it was unavoidable. What's wrong with my phone, she thought to herself,let me try restarting it. She moved her finger towards the restart button but nothing happened.She pressed it again and again until the screen turned full black.

Suddenly,a flash of white light came from her phone and in a split of a second,it turned into an old wooden house. What's happening, she thought to herself and looked away from her phone but something was preventing her from doing it.She felt two cold hands grabbing the side of her face.She couldn't move nor make a sound.

She was forced to stare at the old wooden house.Suddenly, a silhouette stood at the window like it was looking at her and started to wave at her.She wanted to look away or scream for her little brother for help but she couldn't,so she shut her eyes tightly, hoping it will just go away.

After a while,she heard a voice calling to her.'Sister!Sister!',she heard the voice shouting and something touched her hand.She slowly opened her eyes,hoping to not see it again.She saw a silhouette and her vision slowly became clearer.It was her little brother,Jack(a boy with light blonde hair and deep blue eyes) shouting at her.

She rubbed her eyes and looked at her brother.Her brother looked at her with a worried expression. 'Sister,is there anything wrong',he said in a low voice,'just now... you looked like you were having a bad dream.'Mary looked at him with a shock expression and said,'oh',she petted her brother's head,'well,yeah, I'm just having a bad dream,nothing to worry about.'

Jack looked at her with an unsure look on his face for a second and his face instantly turned into an innocent smile.'Okay',he said happily but suddenly his face turned into a frown and said ,'sister,is there anything bothering you or is your job giving you a lot of stress?'Mary looked at him taken aback and quickly smiled at him and said in a gentle voice,'it's nothing,really.Come on,go eat your breakfast.You don't want to be late for school,right?'

He looked at Mary and nodded with a smile again.Then,he hurried off into the dining room.After Jack vanished,Mary put her hands on her face and thought is it really just a dream? She got herself together and wandered into the dining room.

Mary sat in a chair,waiting for her brother to finish his breakfast.After he finished,she soaked the plates and utensils in the sink.Mary felt a presence on her left.

She quickly turned to her left and saw Jack climbing up a wooden stool.Mary looked at her brother and said in a gentle voice ,'what are you doing?Go get your school bag.'After a long pause of silence,Jack successfully climbed up the wooden stool,'I want to help you with the dishes',he said in a happy tone.

'You know that you don't have to,right?I can do it myself,go get your school bag and change into your school uniform',she said.Jack looked at her with a sad expression and said in a low tone,'okay',and left.

After washing the dishes, Mary went to the living room and waited for her brother but this time she just sat there, waiting.She was scared to look at her phone,what if it showed me the same thing ,she thought while biting her nails.

She was deep in thought until she heard someone running down the stairs.Jack dashed towards Mary and stood there,his right hand on his forehead (like a soldier saluting).She let out a little chuckle and said,'I'm not your boss or anything.What are you doing that for?'

Jack put his hand down and said in a sad voice,'I wanted to show my respect to you...for all the things you did for me.'Mary blushed,using her hands to cover half of her face in surprise.

She shook her head and saluted Jack too,'Then... Thank you for being the best little brother!',she said in an embarrassed and happy tone.

Jack looked at her,his eyes widened and his face immediately turned into a bright smile and said,'Thank you,sister.Even though I didn't do much for you but hearing you said that is really...',he stopped and thought for a long time and said,'I don't know how to explain.'

'You can think in the car.Let's go!',Mary stood up and walked to her car while Jack followed behind.

They entered the car and drove off.After they reached a stoplight,Mary stopped the car, waiting for it to turn green.She blinked and discovered herself in a white place that seemed to have no end to it.

She heard walking sounds slowly getting close to her from behind.She turned around and saw an old man(white hair and droopy eyes).The old man smiled at her and slowly closed in the gap between them.

Then,she heard her brother's voice calling out to her.She blinked and found herself back in the car.Jack looked at her with concern and said,'The light turned green for a while now,sister.Is everything really alright?Are you stressed from work or...'Mary broke his sentence and said,'I'm alright,I guess I just didn't get enough sleep.'

Mary continued driving her car.After that,the whole way to school was quiet.She and her brother said goodbye to each other.Then,Mary drove off to work, thinking about the things that just happened.

Mary drove her car into the company's parking lot and stayed there for a few minutes, rethinking what had happened.

She sat there in her car, staring into the car's headliner.She thought, is it really just my imagination?...No, I never have imagination,that weird before.What's going on! I wish someone could just explain to me!

After a few minutes of thinking,she mumbled,'Oh right today,I have a meeting.What's the time now?'She looked at her phone.Her trembling hands slowly moved towards it and she immediately took it up and took a look at the time and threw it back to the passenger seat.

It was 1:25pm and the meeting started at 1:35pm.She laid back and continued thinking.Suddenly, she sprang up and mumbled,'if it is 1:25pm and the meeting time is 1:35pm... And I remembered hearing them saying that everyone should be there 10 minutes earlier before the meeting.Then...I'm late!'

She jumped out of the car and dashed into the building.She passed the counter and ran towards the lift.The lift slowly closed and she yelled'I haven't entered yet! Please wait!'The lift slowly opened up and waited for her.She rushed into the lift and panting breathlessly from all the running.

Then,the girl next to her spoke,'Oh,I thought I heard a familiar sound,so it was really you,Mary.'Mary looked up,still panting breathlessly.'Oh,Emily.Sorry,I didn't see you there.'She spoke out breathlessly.Emily(a long brown hair girl with sharp eyes and brown pupil) chuckled and said'I can tell from the way you just rushed in and ignored me so why the rush?'

'What do you mean why the rush our meeting start at 1:35pm!?'

'Mary... didn't you look at your phone today?The meeting time changed to 2:00pm.'

'Wait,did it?Let me check.'

She took out her phone and looked at the chat.'Oh,it really did change,guess I overlooked it.' she said in a low and embarrassed tone.Emily looked at her'Yeah,it changed,girl.So chill down and here.'She gave Mary a napkin to wipe her sweat.

'Thanks!'Mary said in a grateful voice.

'I don't want you to go in there looking so sweaty,so go on and wipe yourself.'

'So, do I need to return it tomorrow?'

'Nah,you can keep it.Take it as a gift.'

They both laughed and the lift opened.They reached their floor and both of them walked into the meeting room together.

After the meeting, Mary sat in her chair, facing a computer and her fingers on the keyboard. She kept dozing off so she used both of her hands to slap her cheeks. The office workers looked at her with shock but didn't ask her anything.

She thought to herself, you need to be serious Mary, this is a big project! If we succeed, you can take your brother out and eat or even better, you can get a day off and spend your time with your brother. Wait, snap out of it Mary. We can do the planning later. Just do your project first!

Mary snapped out of it and does her work. She placed her fingers on the keyboard, her face close to the screen and typed.

After a while, she did her work. She looked at the time and it was so late. She stood up and packed her documents. Suddenly, something knocked on her table. She was taken aback, she slipped on one of the papers and fell back to her chair.

She heard a chuckle in front of her, she looked up and saw Emily looking at her. She said in an exhausted voice,' bro, I've been waiting for you to notice me for ages.'Mary stood back up and said in an annoyed tone,' then, why didn't you call me and don't be so dramatic.

'Eh, Mary are you mad? Are you annoyed?'

Mary quickly gathered up her documents again and moved to her computer to save the progress of her project.

'Mary don't ignore me, I'm going to be sad and by that like really sad.'

'I know, you won't be that sad. You have tons of friends.'

Mary packed finished and walked away. Emily dashed towards Mary and hugged her.

'I'm sorry for not calling you, ok? Just please don't ignore me!'Emily said with a pitiful look.

'Fine! But still, stop hugging me like that! Your heavy!'

Emily let go and stood next to her crossing her hands on her stomach.

'Mary, your so mean. You wouldn't mind me doing this when we're young. Is it because of your little bro-'

'SHUT UP!'

Mary raised her voice and Emily flinched a little. Mary noticed and changed her tone to a troubled voice.

'Oh, I'm sorry. It just that I need to fetch my brother.'

Then, Mary disappeared behind the door. Emily still looking shocked, suddenly let out a chuckle. 'Oh, Mary. You'll never change.'She mumbled in a happy tone.'Whenever it comes to your brother, you'll get pissed off so easily.' She let out a sigh and walked to the door and disappeared behind it.

Mary dashed out of the door and kept pressing the down button at the lift. After a few minutes passed, it still didn't open. It's taking too long, she thought to herself. It'll be faster if I take the stairs.

She rushed to the stairs and jumped three steps at a time. She almost slipped and fell but managed to hold the handle.

She rushed to her car and drove away and arrived at her brother's school. Jack was talking to a teacher, he seemed sad.

Mary opened the window and called out to Jack. Jack looked at her with a smile, he waved goodbye to the teacher and rushed into the car.

He entered the car and said, 'sister, you're late.'Mary looked at him with an apologetic look and said,' I'm sorry, work has been really busy lately.'

'It's alright, sister. I'm not mad but please don't overwork. When I grow up, I'll take care of you.'

Mary looked away from her brother and drove away with a smile.

'You're so cute.'Mary said joyfully while petting Jack's head. Jack looked at her and smiled happily.
