Who Are You... My Love?
1. A Happy Vacation
Hello, my Lovely Readers. As you can see, this is for the Horror Competition and also for my own experience in the Horror genre.
This may go pretty horrific, especially during the hours where Ghosts and supernatural beings take a walk down the street.
And also, all opinions are welcomed.
Feel free to comment your honest thoughts, even if it feels negative, just comment! I won't take any offense. ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ
I mean... it's just a couple of words which won't cost you anything and will let me know how you are enjoying the story so far.
So let's begin, you'll see the characters themselves as they appear in the story.
It was just... the sounds of the wind flowing through the trees, creaking the branches and the leaves.
The fresh air of the damp earth spread across Nature's territory.
They woke up in the morning hours and are preparing to catch some worms.
For themselves and for their hatchlings which haven't grown enough to fly on their own.
As they say, "The Early Bird gets the Worm."
The Cool morning breeze in the hills was blowing in the face of the driver of the car.
The small, medium car was driving smoothly through the road, and will reach it's destination in a few hours.
Nick Edwards
Phew... what a refreshing morning.
He drove through the unearthed road in the middle of the woods.
He passed across a Sign set up at the edge of the road.
Memories showed up in his mind, and he felt what some people call... a "deja vu".
Memories of his Childhood, when he visited a village with his parents where his grandparents live.
Nick Edwards
(Finally... visiting them again).
A few hours later, he entered the small town.
As he passed across few houses, he got excited, remembering the time when he played with the neighbour's kids during vacation.
He drove for a few minutes and stopped at a small, cozy house.
After gathering his luggage from the rear, he went and ringed the bell.
Mrs. Debora Parker
Hey, is that you, Nick?
Mrs. Debora Parker
The Edward's grandson?
He looked at the woman who spoke to him from behind and spotted her coming out from the next door.
A Mature woman in her forties, smiling at him with a bowl in her hands.
Nick Edwards
Uhh... yes. That's me.
Mrs. Debora Parker
Oh look at you!! Oh long has it been!?
Mrs. Debora Parker
15 or 16 years?
He immediately had thoughts to himself.
"Does she know me? Seems like she definitely knows me."
"Well, I definitely do not remember her, that's for sure."
Nick Edwards
Uh, yeah. Something like that.
"Maybe Grandma must have told them about my arrival."
Suddenly, a bang was heard from the door and he turned his head towards the door in shock.
The door creaked and opened, revealing the aging face of an old lady.
Mrs. Edwards
My!! Look who it is!!
She smiled and exclaimed.
He smiled and hugged her, she returned back his hug and kissed his cheek.
Mrs. Edwards
Hmm... ah, it's been a while since we saw you dear.
Nick Edwards
Yeah, it has been.
Nick Edwards
Maybe four and five? We last met at Dylan's wedding.
Nick Edwards
Anyway, How have you been?
Mrs. Edwards
I am fine, dear. Diabetic is under control.
Mrs. Edwards
Come on, let's go inside.
He took his luggage and went inside, looking at the house and it's walls, which were standing firmly, and will stand for years to come.
Mrs. Edwards
Ah, and your Grandfather went for a walk.
Mrs. Edwards
He will be back in a couple of minutes, why don't you sort out your bags?
She walked towards a room inside their house.
Mrs. Edwards
Here's your room, dear.
She showed him his room, and he remembered this was his parents room where they stayed when they came before.
Nick Edwards
Alright, thanks Grandma.
Nick Edwards
Have you had breakfast?
Mrs. Edwards
Oh, of course.
Mrs. Edwards
Had it with your Gramps and he went for a walk, you know how he is.
Nick Edwards
Well, I'll just keep my luggage and take a bath.
Mrs. Edwards
Alright, let me set breakfast.
He set down his backpack, and his nostrils picked up a dusty smell.
He noticed that the Room hasn't been cleaned and smiled.
Nick Edwards
(I'll clean it later).
He went to the window and opened the curtains, letting the Cold morning air inside to clean out the smell of the dust in the room.
Looking at the forest which extends to all landscape as far as his eyes see, he let out a deep breath.
Nick Edwards
Time to relax.

2. Plans and Visiting
After having a cool bath in the cold water, he sat down at the table as his Grandma served him.
He wanted to serve it himself and tell his Grandma to sit down and not to work too much at her age, but he knew she wouldn't listen.
He spoke after swallowing a bite.
Mrs. Edwards
No talking while eating.
He ate in silence and when he nearly finished his curry, his Grandmother took a spoon of curry and came to serve it in his plate.
Nick Edwards
Hmm, No, no, no, no!!
Nick Edwards
That's enough.
Mrs. Edwards
Shush! You just came from a long drive, have some more, it won't hurt.
Mrs. Edwards
You are young, so you should eat more.
Nick Edwards
Alright, but I am 24 already!
Nick Edwards
And.. I am trying to keep myself fit.
Mrs. Edwards
Well, that can wait for a month, dear.
She spoke as she put another teaspoon of curry in his plate.
Mrs. Edwards
... Eat how much ever you want here.
He smiled and ate in silence.
Nick Edwards
(I can never say no to another tasty teaspoon).
After having breakfast, Nick washed his hands and came to the living room.
Mrs. Edwards
So, what are you planning to do here?
He sat on the couch and looked at her.
Nick Edwards
Just spending some time with you guys, exploring this small town.
Nick Edwards
And... just getting a breath of fresh air.
Nick Edwards
And of course, relaxation and enjoying the scenery here.
They heard footsteps come from the front door and heard the clunking of the metal door opening.
Mr. Edwards
Ha, look who we have here.
Mr. Edwards
How are you young man?
Nick Edwards
Fine as always, Grandpa.
Nick Edwards
How did your morning walk go?
Mr. Edwards
As usual. I walked till the edge of the village and came back.
After a while and having enough rest, Nick got up from his nap.
It was already the evening.
He had a coffee and went out to look around the neighborhood.
The evening sky is Golden.
The clouds were moving, making rays of sunlight visible to the human eye due to Tyndall effect.
The Hills and the surrounding greenery put a smile on everyone's face.
He walked towards the lake which he saw at morning while driving to his house.
After a few minutes of walking down the road, he reached the lake which is a couple of metres from the road.
A Large Banyan tree was standing near the shore, providing shade and a resting place for people.
He looked at the water body and went near the water.
He could see his clear reflection, and the water seemed dense because he couldn't find the bottom at the edge of the lake.

(Haha, don't tell me it's shallow at the edge itself).
Nick Edwards
(It's Impossible).
He bent down at the grass floor and took a small stone.
Nick Edwards
(Let me see if I can get it).
He threw the stone in a horizontal manner, trying his best to make the stone bounce in the water, but he knew that the chances of succeeding is pretty low and so, he would fail.
Meanwhile, behind a tree. A creature is watching him.
It went towards Nick, it's footsteps creating silence and placed it's hand on his shoulder.

3. Watching the sunset
He turned around in shock and looked at the creature who touched him.
Nick Edwards
Who are you!?
Her white, silky hair, a rare hair colour for a youngster, went down to the length, reaching her waist.
Maya
I-I didn't mean to scare you!
He immediately got shocked by her Beauty. His eyes was capturing every detail of her facial structure.
He couldn't find words to say.
Nick Edwards
It's... It's okay.
Nick Edwards
I thought I was alone here, so I got shocked when you suprised me like that.
He looked at the lake, trying to focus his eyes somewhere else.
Unknown to him, she was stealing glances at him.
Nick Edwards
Well, what are you doing here?
Maya
I come by here every evening and night.
Nick Edwards
Isn't it dangerous here?
Nick Edwards
I mean... in the night, in this hilly area with the wildlife surrounding us...
Nick Edwards
... won't animals be there?
Maya
Maybe some insects, but the common ones.
Nick Edwards
(She looks Beautiful).
He took a deep breath to process the image of the beauty in front of him.
Nick Edwards
(How can someone this Beautiful exist!!!?)
Being a Single Man with no time nor interest for relationships, he found it hard to not stare at her too much.
He decided to introduce himself.
Nick Edwards
Well, I am Nick.
He extended out his hand.
She shook his hand and replied with a smile.
A kind smile which can turn a person filled with sadness to a person with hope.
Nick Edwards
That's... a Unique name.
Maya
Anyway, when did you come here?
Maya
You don't seem like someone around here.
Nick Edwards
Well, yeah. I am not from around here.
Nick Edwards
I came here today to spend the month with my Grandparents.
Nick Edwards
They are the Edwards, I think you know them, I presume.
Maya
Oh, them! I know them.
Maya
The old couple in Baker street where Mr. Edward is a Retired Railway officer.
Nick Edwards
Yes, that's him.
Nick Edwards
And I am his Grandson.
Nick had the curiosity of where this Beautiful dame came from. And he asked after considering if it is okay or not.
Nick Edwards
Where are you from, Maya?
Maya
Well, I have been here my whole life.
Nick Edwards
Really? You didn't come downtown too?
He found this to be unusual.
But he didn't think about it and left that piece to his mind.
Nick Edwards
Well, look. The sun is about to set.
She looked with him at the horizon.
The sun set at the hills, growing small slowly, second by second and soon, the edge of the sun tipped off the slope of a distant hill and went out of view.
It's presence was visible in the golden streams in the sky, which fades away slowly as the sun, as the sky regains it's original blue paint.
Maya
Well, even after staying here for a long time, I haven't stayed long enough to watch the sun set completely.
He looked at her mesmerizing face and spoke.
Nick Edwards
I can understand.
Maya
Well, it's about time.
Maya
See you around here, Nick.
She smiled and waved off, walking down the path of grass and left.
She shouted back from a distance
After she left, Nick processed his thoughts.
Nick Edwards
(Damn! Who is she?)
Nick Edwards
(She looked like an Angel!)
Nick Edwards
(I hope I can meet her again).
He felt his heart throb, beating faster.
He felt warm inside... a warm feeling inside his chest.

(Is this... what they call...)
