"I caught it!" you said to yourself, glancing at the bag full of preys that you caught, you can't help but feel happy knowing you'll eat good tonight, or maybe you'll eat good for a couple of days.

Seeing that your bag is full of dead preys, you decided to go home. It was already sunset, you knew how dangerous the forest was at night, especially for those who doesn't have a vision like you. Knowing that you decided to quicken your pace.

Perhaps you were too preoccupied with yourself that you didn't pay attention to your surroundings, there was a ruin hunter right behind you, you only noticed when you heard a weird noise, looking back, the ruin hunter was ready to attack you, stupefied, since there wasn't much time to think of ways to dodge the ruin hunters attack, all you could do was cover your face with your arms.

You knew it was dumb to do that, you knew you stood no chance to the ruin hunter, yet you still did as hoping it could decrease the injuries that you'll be getting from the impact - that is if you're still alive by then.

You waited for the attack yet nothing came, you didn't feel pain, you didn't feel anything - so then you decided to take a peak, what you saw flabbergasted you and gave chills down your spine.

There, you saw a man who has a fine structure, jade coloured hair with deep beautiful amber eyes that gave you a cold and intense stare. You wanted to ask what his name was, you opened your mouth yet no words came, after a few minutes of staring at each other, you finally said something.

"..beautiful."

As he was taken aback by what you said, you knew immediately that he's not used to compliments. You've been staring at him for quite sometime and you knew it was disrespectful, you wanted to look away yet you can't, his beauty can't be explained in words.

Couple minutes passed, he said something, "the forest is dangerous, go back to your home as soon as possible." just after he said that, he vanished. You couldn't help but smile, "even his voice is beautiful.." you thought to yourself.

After a few minutes of trying to analyze what just happened, you rose to your feet and decided to go home. "i wonder when will I be able to meet him again.." you uttered to yourself.

"..what a strange mortal."

By the time you got home, it was already pitch black. Glancing at the preys that you caught, you groaned, you were overjoyed earlier because you caught tons of them, but then you realise you have to clean them - the part that you hate the most.

After you cleaned them, you hung them for dry age, realising that it's already late at night, you decided to skip dinner and went straight to bed.

The next morning you decided to take a stroll, you admired the tall bamboo trees and the greenery. The silent gentle waves, the warm weather accompanied by the chirping birds. Everything seemed great, you felt great - or so you thought.

Even with the amazing scenery infront of you, you still can't forget the interaction you had with the man. He seemed to have captured your mind making it think of him and only him. You wanted to meet him again, though you knew it was impossible.

You kept on strolling, then something in the corner of your eyes piqued your interest. There you saw a young looking man with a.. floating fairy..? You seem to be lost for words, nonetheless you decided to go over and greet them.

The floating fairy noticed you and waved at your direction. You - of course, waved back. "Hello! are you from around here?" asked by the floating fairy. The young man who seemed preoccupied with something turned his head to your direction, he then soon came over to you.

"No, I live north-east from here." You said in reply to her question. "Oh! ...oh ..oh??" You studied the fairy's expression, she seemed to be.. confused? just when you were about to ask, she let out a loud screeching shout. Both you and the young blonde man gasped in unison. The two of you looked at her confused. "is there anything wro-" "YOU MEAN YOU LIVE IN THAT SPOOKY PLACE?!" she said cutting you off.

You left out a small laugh before nodding. "Anyway, may I ask what's your name? I'm [y/n]" You said hoping it's not too much to ask, you were tired of calling them floating fairy and young blonde man.

"This is Aether and Paimon's Paimon!" she said while those two little hands of hers is on her hips. "Nice to meet you, [y/n]" said Aether. "Nice too meet you too." "Anyway, you two seemed like you needed help, or was I wrong?" "oh great heavens! yes we do need help, we're lost"

After I said those words, they were devastated. They planned on going to the capital, they were supposed to go straight yet they turned right, leading them here. "But Paimons tired already! I can't walk anymore." "But Paimon, you're not even walking." Aether said in response, in which Paimon turned her head to him, clearly offended by what he said.

I let out a small laugh making them look at me.

I suggested that they take a rest in my place, Paimon was hesitant at first but then agreed. Couple of minutes later we arrived.

"Spooky..." Paimon uttered. She was holding onto Aether's clothing. I then assured her that there's nothing to be afraid of. I took the preys that I killed and decided to make food for them. Paimon's mood improved drastically as soon as she saw what I was doing. "Oh you shouldn't have! exept you totally should." I could only laugh at her sentence.

After they finished eating, they took a quick rest and continued with their journey.

"Aether and Paimon huh.. That blonde hair boy looks oddly familiar.." You said to yourself while in a daze, anyone who'll see you would know that your brain isn't with you at the moment.

Glancing at the dishes, you stood up to clean them, only to realise how dirty your run-down place is. You sigh in disbelief. "Did I really just made my guest eat and take a rest in this dirty house of mine? Gosh I'm so unbelievable.."

With that you approached the sink, about to wash the dishes. After you washed the plates you then took the broom and swept the floor. Then you continued doing house chores. After an hour of cleaning the house, you took a sit on the couch to rest.

You didn't blame Paimon for saying your place was creepy. It was true anyway. Wuwang hill rarely got sunlight, so in daytime it looks like 5:00 in the afternoon, whereas nighttime, it's pitch black. The only light guiding you was the moonlight.

To make matters worse, you rarely cleaned your home. Aether and Paimon would've probably think that the house was haunted if they didn't know you live in here.

You laughed at the irony. That was literally the first impression you had when you first came in this abandoned place.

Four years ago you ran away from your "home". You ran and ran and ran until your legs gave out. Fortunately you were close to the Qingce village and decided to take a rest there.

You saw how happy the children of the so called village were. You thought to yourself, "will I ever be happy like them?" "will someone accept me if I ever come knocking on their door?" "will they let me in their house?"

With that, you decided to ask the village chief for help. But then something suddenly came into your mind making you halt. "What if they lock you up? what if they don't allow you to go outside? what if they force things you don't want to do?"

Your mind soon got filled with what ifs. The situation made you remember your past. The past that you hate so much, the past that you buried deep inside you.

One day, you mentioned that you wanted to be a doctor. Your mother looked at you shocked, perhaps she wasn't expecting that one day you'd think about becoming a doctor. And you didn't expect it too.

Perhaps what pushed you to be one is your father. He died from an illness. He took care of you, raised you and he was there for your whole life.

Your mother didn't want you to be a doctor. Few days later she said that you should go to inazuma and join the shoganute's army. There was a rumor circulating that if the shogun's army wins the war, then the tenryou commission will give hefty amount of mora to the families who helped.

You didn't want that, you didn't even know if the rumor was true or not, were they even going to win the war in the first place? nonetheless you declined. with a few reasons actually.

First, is that you didn't want to join the war. You wanted to be a doctor, not a military. You didn't want to be forced in doing something you don't want to do, you didn't want someone making plans for you in your life. Second, it's inazuma's problem, why should a liyue citizen risk their life in a foreign country's problem? And lastly, you're literally twelve years old at that time. What would a twelve years old do in a bloody war? distribute foods? do a cheerleading dance while the two armies fight to death??

Your mother mentioned that you could be a military doctor, yeah sure but you didn't want to be caught in that conflict, who knows wether you'll be alive or beheaded.

There's difference between worrying and manipulating, and you could clearly tell by the situation that it's the latter one.

Suddenly, you heard some footsteps approaching you. Instinctively you hid behind the bushes. "Strange.. I thought I saw someone.." said by the old lady. You didn't know what to do, but having those memories come back to you, you certainly didn't want to get adopted.

With that, you decided to go to some other place. Slowly stepping back one at a time. Unfortunately, you slipped and fell into the water. Waking up you were already in Wuwang hill.

The moment you opened your eyes, fear overwhelmed you. Seeing that you were in some place that seemed like it's out of a horror movie, you took the courage and stood up. You wandered for what seemed like hours.

As there wasn't much sunlight going through and with similar trees all around you, it seemed like you were going in circles, in which it was the case.

You were getting exhausted. Then you saw an abandoned house.

As soon as you saw it, you were overwhelmed with fear again. You were a twelve year old little girl who ran away from home, and now you're in some scary place with an abandoned house in it. You almost felt like passing out.

You once again took all your courage to go inside and inspect it. You were scared as hell. The stone floor was almost as cold as the snow in Dragonspine, there was no light inside the house. It was full of web spider and dust. The creaking sound of the door didn't made the situation better.

You found it funny how this place scared you, yet now it's where you're living.

Hours later, the two of them arrived. “uwahhhhh Paimon's so tired!!” Paimon said as Aether agreed.

“Hey [y/n] do you have any food left? Paimon's hungry.” I looked at her as I was about to say something. Aether suddenly spoke, “Hey Paimon! have some manners, this place isn't even ours!”

I reassured Aether. I also learned that they camp outdoors. Since they were travellers, I knew it's normal for them to do so, yet I still offered them to stay for the time being. To my surprise, Paimon quickly agreed leaving no room for discussion.

With that, I handled the food and asked how their journey went. “That's unfortunate.” You said while chopping some greens. Hearing that the deity has been liquidated, you couldn't help but wonder how the liyue qixing will handle this.

“Yeah! now Paimon wonders how the liyue citizens will go on their lives now that they don't have their deity to protect them” Hearing that, you suddenly got reminded of your interaction with the mysterious man.

“There are those who protects us from afar, with or without being seen..” You only realized that you spoke your mind out when the room fell silent, so you immediately turned your head to their direction and tried to explain. However, Aether cut you off by saying “[y/n] is right, and besides, they have the liyue qixing. And the liyue citizens isn't exactly that weak you know”

You looked at Aether in disbelief, not expecting him to agree with you. You continued to talk for a few minutes before you handled the food.

You woke up because of the abrupt knock on your door. You got out of your bed and opened the door ambiguously. “who could it be? it's so early in the morning..”

What greeted you made you speechless. There you saw a tall ginger man with a mask on his head. He was looking at you in a.. not so friendly manner.

“Where's that blonde boy?” as soon as he said that he invited himself in. “Hey! what do you think you're doing, didn't your parents teach you any manners?!” You said while glaring at him.

What he did pissed you off. Where do you see a man abruptly knocking on a strangers door, asking where Aether is, then inviting himself in?!

You then froze, “He's looking for Aether? but what for? Could it be.. he's a companion of him? but he already have Paimon. Or is he another companion of them? Perhaps a friend of them? But wait.. he went to my house instead of the capital, besides by the way he invited himself and the way he's looking for him.. it's impossible for him to be his friend, not to mention a companion!”

You heard a laugh, it was soft yet it radiated abhorrence. “You know something don't you? I can clearly tell based on your expression alone. Where's that coward hiding?”

What he said pissed you of even more. He was clearly referring to Aether when he said coward. “I have no idea what you're saying”

“Are you implying that you don't have any idea on what's happening?” “All I know is that Morax has been killed, no more no less.” The ginger man stood there with his gaze piercing you, He then snapped his finger and said, “Take her and interrogate her to our base. She looks like she really doesn't know anything but it could just be a cover.”

Then out of nowhere, variety of masked guards entered, two of them took each of your hands. “Hey, let go!” you said while giving them an intense look. The man infront of you then laughed at said, “or else what?” clearly mocking you by the tone of his voice just now.

“Oh I promise you, you wouldn't want to know.” You saw the amusement in the ginger's eyes, hands on his hips while giving you a smile. “Oh I promise you, you wouldn't wanna know~” the masked man then mimicked you which just made you pissed even more.

Before they could react, you swiftly hit the calf of the masked man on your left, making him stumble. You then retracted both of your arms and  grabbed the arms of the masked man on your right, you then lifted him up and slammed him on the ground.

Since he reacted on time, he was able to protect his head, unlike the man on your left. He slammed his head so hard he lost his consciousness. “The floor is as hard as a rock.. well it IS a rock. That must've hurt.”

When you saw the man who was about to stand up, you did the unthinkable. You hit his lower center as hard as you could, making him groan in pain. You then looked at the two men who was charging at you.

You dodge the both of their attacks, then you swiftly went to the back of the masked man and hit his nape with the side of your palm, making unconscious. The other man managed to get you on a headlock, fortunately you managed to place your hand beside your neck, making you escape from the headlock.

You then grabbed his hands and twisted it, making him scream in pain. You pulled him towards you, you went to his side and kicked his stomach. Only then you let him go.

You heard the ginger clap. “Didn't know you had that kind of strength in that small body of yours.” “I won't surrender without putting up a fight, besides, I don't want to surrender to the kinds of you, barging in a girl's house without her permission, I could file you a complaint you know?” You said while having your right hand on your hips, you radiated dominance.

“Woah la-dy! gotta admit the pose you're making right now is hot, you got a boyfriend?”

“That's disgusting.” - were the only word that came out of your mouth. “This guy ruined my peaceful sleep, barged inside my house, planned on kidnapping me, and now he's asking about my personal relationship? Is there a loose screw inside his head or what?”

“Anyway why are you here in the first place?” You asked, curiosity has been eating you away ever since he step foot inside your house.

The ginger man looked at you then said, “I'm looking for Aether. He stole something precious, that's all you need to know.” “Anyway, seeing that you know how to fight, why don't we have a spar?”

“I'm not interested, leave.” The ginger then laughed, “You're a hard one aren't you? well then, if you beat me I'll leave, but if I beat you, you tell me where's that blonde hiding.” You sighed, “You'll get nothing out of me, I already told you I know nothing.”

You heard the ginger huff before saying, “well I wouldn't find that out if I don't beat you now wouldn't I?” Before you could react, he immediately charged at you. Shocked by his speed. “I guess I don't have much of a choice..” you said before putting up a defensive pose.

Hours have passed since you sparred with the ginger. “You really are a tough one huh. I thought what you did back there was just a fluke, guess not.” He said while panting. “Even tho I don't have a vision, I still know how to protect myself.” You said while looking directly at his eyes.

You thought sparring session you had was finished, not until you saw the ginger posing himself to charge at you. You were flabbergasted. “We're not done yet?” You asked with wide eyes. He saw your expression which satisfied him. “Oh honey, we're just getting started.”

Just as he was about to charge at you, the two of you heard a knock. You then heard the ginger click his tongue and opened the door. There, you saw the masked man that you hit earlier, upon seeing you, he held his center out of impulse.

“Ahem.. The man that we're searching for has been sighted. He was seen entering the golden house. The Tsaritsa wishes that you..” He gave you a look before looking back at the man behind you, he then bowed and left.

You looked at the ginger behind you . “What are you planning on doing to Aether?” The ginger man looked at you and smiled. “I'm sorry I can't finish my sparring session with you. I have other matters to attend to.”

With that, he spared you one last glance and left. “Hey! I'm still not done talking to.. you...” your vision then became blurry, perhaps the ginger drained all your energy away, soon you lost consciousness.

“Hey Aether! she's finally awake” You heard a high pitched voice. You opened your eyes and saw Paimon, not long after Aether went inside the room. “What happened..?” You asked while massaging your head.

“We found you collapsed by the door, it seemed someone broke inside, are you okay?” Paimon said in which made you remember what happened earlier. You told them the details of your interaction with the ginger head and they did so in return.

Apparently the ginger's name is Childe. He thought Paimon and Aether took Morax's gnosis in which infliurated him. You asked them why something as sacred as the gnosis got involved in this, but they just gave you a hesitant look.

Just by looking at them, you immediately knew it's not something they could tell you, therefore you didn't pry any further. Instead, you asked how it went for them.

Apparently someone called Madame Ping offered them a place that they stay, in which they accepted. “We actually went here to tell you that we'll be moving to our place, we figured it's best to say goodbye rather than leaving without saying our farewell.” Aether said in which Paimon agreed.

This made you sad yet happy. Sad because they'll be leaving and you'll be alone again, happy because they said their goodbyes.

“Well then, would you mind resting for a bit? I'll make something for the two of you to eat and to bring through your journey.” Paimon quickly accepted your offer, making Aether sigh.

After making supper for them, the three of you talked for awhile before they continued with their journey. Apparently they will come to inazuma in day's time. “he's really out there exploring the world huh... must be nice..” You said to yourself while dozing off.

You took a minute's rest and did house work. You then soon went to sleep.

The next day, you had an appointment with Verr Goldet. The two of you had just started doing business. You once saved her husband's life while you were strolling in the woods. Her husband, Huai'an, was on the hunt for fresh meat.

Evidently the hunter they hired had been caught in selling stale meat. Unfortunately for them, they needed it for the upcoming Rite of Descension. Hearing this, they were devastated.

Despite the fact that they were agents of the Qixing, they couldn't possibly report this to Ningguang and the other members of the Qixing because of how busy they are with the upcoming ceremony.

Therefore, they decided to handle it with their own hands. As the other staff of the inn was busy with something, Huai'an decided to hunt some of the meat himself, despite the fact that he knows nothing about hunting.

Verr Goldet insisted and said that they should just hire another hunter, she didn't want to put her husband's life at risk. Huai'an knew that it's impossible to hire a hunter in such a short period of time, and he knew Verr Goldet knew about it too. Huai'an reassured his wife and promised her that he'll return safe and sound.

That's what he promised his wife, to come back home safe and sound. Unfortunately the forest wasn't merciful to him. Huai'an encountered a geovishap hatchling. Almost everyone in teyvat knows how annoying they can get.

Fortunately the geovishap hatchling hasn't seen him yet, He thought he could get away, Unbeknownst to him geovishap's are sensitive in terms of hearing, especially hatchlings.

Huai'an alerted the hatchlings, in which he panicked. He knew he couldn't outran the hatchlings so he screamed for help. Fortunately, you heard it.

You went to the source of sound, there you saw a man who has getting chased by geovishap hatchlings. You quickly drew out your sword and charged at them.

Since the hatchlings were busy with running after Huai'an, they didn't notice you, hence you quickly pounced at the hatchling and stabbed it in the weak spot.

Huai'an then went to you, he was at a mess, probably still terrified by what happened. After a couple of minutes, he finally calmed down.

In those minutes of him calming down, the two of you talked to eachother. You asked why he was alone in the middle of the forest, in which he explained. Seeing that you had the equipments and seemed like a hunter, he asked. Your answer pleasing him.

Since he now knew you were a hunter, he asked if you could hunt some meat for them, of course, he also offered mora. You accepted his request yet denied his mora offer, saying it's too much.

Huai'an obviously insisted, saying that it's not close even close to being "too much." You saved his life, accepted his sudden request, and on top of that you were willing to do it for free, in which he can't accept.

You didn't want to drag this for too long, hence you accepted the mora offer, still deeply in shock by the mora offer.

Huai'an left to go to the inn first, you had to stay a little bit because the preys that you caught clearly weren't enough.

You decided to take some of the preys that you caught the other day and bring it to the inn too. Upon arriving, you were greeted by the boss, Verr Goldet.

You exchanged pleasantries before handling out the stack of meat. “Here is the preys that I caught, I've also added some of the ones I caught a few days earlier. Even tho they were only dry aged for a few days old, there should still be a few changes in terms of taste.” You said while giving Verr Goldet the other batch of the dry aged meat.

“Thank you so very much [y/n]!” The boss of the inn said, “Wait here, I'm going to get the mora as promised. In the end you couldn't deny the offer, so you only nodded your head and kept quiet.

Few minutes later, Verr Goldet arrived, “Here is the mora as promised.” You took the mora, surprised as how heavy it is. You couldn't help but ask, “Excuse me, I think it's too heavy, perhaps you miscalculated?” I said hoping it didn't offend her.

“Ah no, after my husband told me everything that happened, 50k mora isn't enough. So I added another 50k making it 100k.” She said with a smile. You were flabbergasted by what she said.

“What?! no, I couldn't possibly take this! 50k mora is more than enough!” You said attempting to give back the bag of mora. Verr Goldet didn't take it, as expected. “My husband, Huai'an, used to be a skilled fighter. In fact, He's the reason why our bridge got broken. Thankfully the traveller helped so it's fixed now.”

You were surprised at how strong Huai'an were, Verr Goldet told you everything that he did, unfortunately he broke one of his bone when he was fighting a mitachurl near the inn, hence he couldn't fight anymore.

“So the additional 50k is for saving my husband. He used to be fearless, but ever since that incident happened he's scared of breaking his bones again. Please accept it.” Verr Goldet said looking at you with pleasing eyes.

You had no choice but to accept the huge amount of mora, unsure of what you'll do with it. Since it was near lunch, Verr Goldet insisted that you should stay for a little bit and eat with them. As soon as Verr Goldet said it, she left you to instruct Smiley Yanxiao to cook additional food, leaving no room for you to say no.

You could only sigh, you decided to go to the rooftop to get some fresh air. You saw that there was an upper floor, hence you decided to go there but was stopped with a sign, “Customers are prohibited, Thank you.” But then Verr Goldet once said to you that you're welcome to the inn, and that you should be comfortable.

Besides, you're not a customer, so you're free to pass right? You contemplated for quite a long time, you finally decided that you should just ask Verr Goldet for permission. You weren't comfortable with barging in especially when the customers are prohibited.

By the time you got to the bottom floor, You saw that she wasn't at the reception. You asked the other staff as to where she might be, they told you she's by the entrance calculating the goods that is supposed to be used in the parting.

“You seem busy, I hope I'm not interrupting you?” You said while approaching her. “Ah, [y/n]! Yes I am, since our deity has sadly been killed, the meat and goods that were supposed to be used in the Rite of Descension are now being used in the Rite of Parting.” Verr Goldet continued,

“Since the amount of foods that are about to be delivered are no joke, the Qixing decided to use it in the Rite of Parting. They figured that they should send off Rex Lapis with blessings as thanks for protecting them over the years. And besides, if the Qixing were to send it back, the merchants would surely be pissed.”

You only nod in response. “Anyway, is there something you wish to tell me?” You smiled at her before asking, “I saw that there was another floor on top of the rooftop. Am I allowed in there?” Verr Goldet then asked you, “The sign says that there's no customer allowed, and you're not a customer, so why didn't you go in?” Verr Goldet asked you in response.

“Ah.. well yeah, I'm not a customer but I didn't feel like barging in. I wanted to ask for your permission to make sure I'm allowed in there.” Verr Goldet looked at you, as if she seemed that she was looking right into your soul. This made you worry, “is that a no? did I provoke her?? why is she looking at me like that..”

Verr Goldet then chuckled causing you to snap out of your thoughts. “Yes of course, I told you you're allowed in every nook and cranny of this place, but I appreciate you asking me for permission.”

She said and continued in doing her work. You didn't want to disturb her any longer and just smiled before leaving. On your way there you saw Jiangxue. He asked on where you were off to, you replied that you're going to the upper rooftop.

“Really? Did you ask the boss for permission?” you nodded and said, “Yes, I asked for her permission and she told me I'm welcomed in every room of the inn.” Jiangxue was seemingly surprised.

As you were about to ask what's wrong, he cut you off. “You're really something aren't you? the boss never let anyone in, be it a staff or customer. Well then I'm off to do something, make yourself at home.”

You were shocked by what he said. “Verr Goldet never let anyone in? then why did she permit me to go there..”  curiosity soon piqued your interest. Soon you arrived. You saw the view and it flabbergasted you. The fresh wind hitting your skin making you shiver a little bit, but soon it relaxed you.

You were enjoying the moment, but felt uneasy. You felt like someone was staring at you. You looked back but saw no one. “Is there a ghost here?” You thought to yourself, shaking it off and enjoyed the view a little more.

You couldn't help but feel uncomfortable, hence you decided to go back down and just help Yanxiao with the dishes. - That is until you got stopped by a familiar voice.

“What are you doing here?”

Surprised by the sudden voice, you looked back. You widen your eyes at the sight of the man. You couldn't clearly see his face back then, but now that you do, you were pleasantly surprised on how beautiful he looks.

“what? I'm talking to y-” “has anyone ever told you how beautiful you look?” You said cutting him off. He was once again taken a back by the sudden compliment.

“Didn't you just say that few days ago?” The man said while crossing his arms. “Well yeah, but it was dark so I could only see some of your features.” You said while staring at him.

You weren't lying, it was dark out so you didn't see his full face but you did manage to catch a glimpse of his features. The one thing that catched your attention was deep amber eyes.

The man just stared at you, making you uncomfortable. “Can you stop staring at me?” you asked hoping he'd stop. “no” he said earning a groan from you. “Okay fine, tell me your name and I'll let you stare for as long as you want.”

The man didn't budge and kept on staring at you. You stared back before sighing. “I'm going back, it's pointless to be with you.” you said giving up. When you were about to head out, you felt a hand on your arm, making you look back.

You looked at him straight in the eye and asked, “what?” The man just kept on staring at you, not long after a frown appeared on his face.

“You're so ugly.”

Said the man before disappearing. This made you furious, you went down the stairs stomping your feet. Verr Goldet noticed your change of attitude and asked you what happened.

“Goldet! what's with that man on the upper rooftop? why is he so full of himself?!” You asked he, only to gain a confused look from the lady. You sigh before telling her the details of what happened.

“You..” the lady trailed off before sighing. “You're really unbelievable..” Just as you were about to say something, she cut you off by saying, “You should go and make up with him. Go to Yanxiao and ask him to make you almond tofu.”

Hearing what you said, you froze in your spot. Not because she wants you to make up with the man but because she mentioned the word “almond tofu.”

“Did you just say almond tofu?”

“..yeah wh-”  “how do you know how to make it?” Goldet then gave you a weird look. The lady then asked you if there's something wrong. You told her the reason of your sudden change of attitude.

Goldet then told you about things that you didn't know. “I see.. sorry about that. I was just taken aback. I didn't know my father's recipe was now well known not only in the inn but in the capital aswell.”

You said while looking away from the lady, embarrassed by your actions earlier. “It's fine, don't worry about it. I'll go and continue what I'm doing, go and ask Yanxiao for help in making almond tofu.”

Saying that, she turned her heels and left. You could only sigh, “did she forget my father was the one who created almond tofu?” You thought to yourself before heading to the kitchen.
