“ Hu! “ Yeon Hyung called.
…
Bzzt...
What?..
…
The little kids looked at me skeptically, I looked at them, glaring, giving them a mind-your-own-business look.
“Hu?!” Hyung called again, more impatiently.
…
Bzzt...
What..? W-where….
…
“Coming!” I yelled. Disturbed by the… wait… what was it again?.. I don't remember… anyway…
I dressed quickly, wearing my best clothes, and ran down to meet Yeon Hyung’s needs.
As I almost reached the bottom of the stairs, I stopped running and started walking, to make it look like I wasn’t rushing to his needs.
“ Yes, Hyung? “ I called politely, bowing to the guests in front of me.
“ Ah! Hu Fei! I have some great news! “ He chirped, making me curious about what he would tell me.
“ You’re getting adopted! “ The two people in the back said very cheerfully.
….
Adopted? I’m an orphan..?
….
I was so happy that I cried. Yes. Not very manly, but I cried. They took me into their arms, comforting me, telling me it was okay and that I would live a great life.
“So… We’re the Hu family. “ They said cheerfully as we rode away on their chariot.
“ mnh... “ I answered, rubbing my red puffy eyes.
Wait… The Hu family?! They chuckled as they watched the realization dawn on me.
…
The who family?..
…
“ Y-You’re the real, and I mean really popular family! Right?! “ I asked, my eyes big in excitement and curiosity.
“Yep! “ They say as we near the humongous house.
Whoa… so this is what money can buy you
As we neared the entrance of the home, the doors opened to show two young children.
It must be their kids…
…
They look bratty…
Bzzt
…
“ Hello! “ I say, extending my hand for them to shake.
They look at me like I was some kind of piece of trash, and ignore me to go welcome their parents home.
“Mom! “ They both exclaim as they hug her.
“What about me?” Mr. Hu says.
The two children chuckle and hug their father, smiling brightly.
“Ah! This is your new brother, Emily, and John.”
They looked me up and down, judging me with their little beady eyes. They ‘smiled’ at me, just to satisfy their parent's needs, and walked into the house, leaving me to carry the bags.
And at that moment, we were sworn, enemies.

( I should go to the market today… ) I thought as I began grabbing things that I needed.
…
Market? Where am I? The middle ages?
…
“Mrs.- I mean Mom! I’m going to go to the market!” I told my adoptive mother.
“Okay! Be careful! “ She answered as she began preparing breakfast.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A young boy was slowly making his way down the street, looking closely at the very beautiful fruits and vegetables.
“Excuse me... Little boy. “ An Elder said, approaching him with nothing but a cane in hand.
“Hm? Oh hello… Sir. “ He said, his eyes black and red.
“Your eyes… they’re beautiful! “ The older one exclaimed as he gave the young man a card. “Here, take this, show them to your parents. “
…
Bzzt!
My eyes?.. What’s… oh I have heterochromia...
…
“Ah! Um... Sir! May I know your name? “ He asked nervously, putting the package into his bag.
“ My name is Shei Fu. I am Grandmaster Fu. And who are you? “ Shei said, smiling.
“Oh! I am Hu Fei! “ Hu said, sharing a smile. Looking down, he checks his watch, checking the time. “Ah! I’ve got to go! See you later, Mr. Shei! “
As the young man got ready to leave the market, the old man gave him another gift. A blessing.
“May you always find your path, no matter where you go, no matter how deep or shallow you are, you shall always find your way back to your roots.”
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5 months later...
It’s been three weeks since my family, or the people I considered family, was sentenced to death. I have now been staying with Mr. Shei for the current period.
“Follow me, young man! “ Mr. Shei said, motioning the younger to follow him.
As the two walked, Mr. Shei began to… grow taller? He began becoming younger and younger the further we went in.
We reached a door, a big white one. At this point, Mr. Shei went from 5’ 5’’ to… 5’ 11’’?
As he began pushing the door open, I noticed that it wasn’t even Mr. Shei anymore. He was replaced with a young man, in his twenties.
‘Mr. Shei’ turned around, flashing a big, white, toothy smile, and said:
“Welcome to the future, Hu Fei. “
Bzzt!
It’s louder now… It’s so black too… Where am I? Who.. am I?
BZZZZZT!
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“ Hu! “ Yeon Hyung called.
… I-I’m back?
The little kids looked at me skeptically, I looked at them, glaring, giving them a mind-your-own-business look.
“Hu?!” Hyung called again, more impatiently.
D-didn’t… this happen already?...
“C-coming!” I yelled.
“... Hu?! Are you okay?! “ Yeon Hyung responded... Sounding awfully... Scared... Of something?
I dressed quickly, wearing my best clothes, and ran down to meet Yeon Hyung’s needs.
As I almost reached the bottom of the stairs, I stopped running and started walking, to make it look like I wasn’t rush- no. This isn’t right. I need to find out what happened.
Instead of following the past, which was now the present, I ran past the family, and to the market.
“ Ah! Hu Fei! “ Hyung yelled as I ran out the door.
“I need to go somewhere! “ I yelled back.
As I walked away, I looked back, and saw… Hyung’s face… was glitching... I closed my eyes and looked back again, he looked normal?
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There! I thought as I quickly walked toward ‘Mr. Shei’, grabbing his shoulder. As he turned around, I saw it again; the glitching. And then, everything went black.
“B-but?! Sir?! H-He still has his mem-”
“Does it look like I care?! Send him back!!”
“Yes Sir!”
And then… I was back. Back to the orphanage, back to square one. But I was determined to make a change this time.
This time, I didn’t wait. I didn’t wait for Yeon to call my name instead, I ran down, three minutes before he was supposed to call me.
“WHAT?! “ I screamed as I saw what was before me.
There was this… black portal thing, showing this… laboratory? There were these people in white coats, watching monitors. As I screamed, they looked at me, frightened at the sudden appearance of… A player.
“How is this possible?! “ Someone squealed as everyone began bustling and furiously typing.
The portal began closing, and I panicked. I quickly ran through, trying to get out of this forever hellhole.

GASP
I woke up, my legs and arms attached to different monitors that tracked my heart rate and breathing rate.
I’m back! I thought, quickly grabbing my cords and ripping them off of me.
I looked around to see what the date was and then I saw it.
I-I... NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE!!
I urgently began to run toward the door, my limbs not helping with my need to leave.
The security is pretty bad… I thought as I grabbed a card that was on a table.
I swiped a card that was left and immediately ran to the nearest door that showed any source of light.
I’m Free!!
My mind raced as I pushed open the doors… to a… broken world…
The trees were burning, smoke was everywhere, cars and planes were in the ground.
As I began walking the streets of New York, I began seeing things I hadn’t seen in years. The playground I used to take walks in with my mom, the home I used to-
Wait! My home?!
I looked closely, noticing the light on inside, I ran into the home, to be met with my mother and father, smiling softly.
“Mom?! Dad?!” I said, running into their arms.
“My son…” My father said, coughing profusely.
“Why are you here?..” My mother asked, caressing my face.
“T-the government… what happened to the world?! “ I asked, my voice shaking.
“Hu Fei… my son… you need to go back… “ Father said, pushing me slowly toward the door.
“O-okay… b-bye!”
As I began walking back, I heard a boom. I looked back, and tears began filling my eyes. My home… just blew up… I quickly ran back to the building where I was being held captive. As I opened the doors, a group of maids welcomed me, like... This has happened before?
“Ah… Hu Fei! Please don’t run away again! Your short-term memory loss would be a very big problem if you run away again! “ A maid said, putting a blanket around me.
Short-Term memory loss?...
“B-But my parents!..” I said, trying to reason with them.
And they… they all chuckled at me.? What?!
“What's so funny!?” I yelled.
“Ah! Mr. Hu Fei! You need to wake up! “ They said, all in unison.
Wake… up?
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beep! Beep! Beep!
I sat up in my bed, my king-size bed.
As I thought back on my dreams last night, I remembered that… That I have a gift… A very special gift. My dreams can tell me about the future, I can see what will happen when it will happen, but I cannot see how it will happen unless, of course, someone tells me.
My mansion is as lively as ever. I thought as my butler gave me my morning coffee.
“How was your good night's rest, master?” My butler asked.
“Hm… weird, but… fun!” I responded. Looking out the window into my garden.
“Hm. Today’s date is 4.23.2080, the time is currently 6:30 am.” He told me.
Wait… 2080?... That’s when… The government takes over the world… that’s when.. oh no!
“Hm? Sir?.. Is everything alright?” Butler asked me, touching my forehead.
“I’m okay… just startled..” I said, giving him a reassuring smile.
Aish… Here we go again…

Sorry, some of it was so spaced out, I copy and pasted it from Google Docs.
Warning: This story does not mean to offend anyone.
" 3, 2, 1! Happy New YEAR "
Even after over 1,000+ years, the world hasn't changed. Today marks the year 4000.
Today wasn't supposed to happen.
BOOM
The world was in chaos. Ten portals opened up around the world. Japan, South Korea, Washington, The North Pole, Africa, Russia, the UK, India, Turkey, and... North Korea.
This sent everyone into a panic. There were three people that are now written down in history as "The Beginning". The Two went out and discovered the new world. They figured out that there were monsters, and that they produced lots of mana, which was able to power anything. They could grow plants in a day, they could power any city, like New York. The most important discovery they made was Runes. The Girl Monster. The girl that was put down in history alone with The Two.
I was only a child when this happened. I'm from North Korea. The two Koreas had officially become One the day I was born. Ha, lucky me.
My name is Park Nari.
People can be born with Powers, or what we call, Runes. Those with Powers became hunters. People who possessed Powers, but weren't powerful, become regular people. Just like all of those mangas you've read about those people with Powers, like "Villain to Kill", and " Unordinary". Those who were gifted with Powers were offered to be taken in by people called Guilds. And those who weren't, well.. were turned into the Villains.
I was born with Powers. My Rune was green, one of the strongest Runes. That's how I got here...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My dagger; broken. My armor; broken. The only thing I had was a gun.
I looked down, checking the bullets.
Shoot... Only three bullets... I thought as I began to look up, meeting those beady eyes of the 20 monsters in front of me.
Breathe in... Breathe out...
I steadied my breath and clicked the safety off.
BANG BANG BANG
6 monsters fell, the others just stood there, not moving.
eh... what?! What are they doing?!
" Come Forth "
A loud voice rang out, making all the monsters tremble in fear. Scared, I began walking. The monsters all parted, still shaking in fear.
There were these... doors. Hundreds upon hundreds. My curiosity got the better of me, and I opened a door and to my surprise, I saw my colleague, Min, fighting a monster.
Wait... am I... am I... Behind the scenes of the dungeons?!
Still pondering the odd thought, I began walking toward the main door, where very thick and powerful mana waves were being produced.
As I neared the door, it swung open.
" Ah! My Queen! " A young man said, taking my hand in his.
" Who the hell are you? " I say, snapping my hand back.
" My name is ¥•π£€¥÷¢! "
What?..
" Your name is what? " I ask, my eyes clearly curious.
" Oh! Just call me Justin. " Justin says, motioning me into the palace room.
" Let's get to the point, why am I here?. "
" Well... You're our Queen- and you're supposed to be here. "
" I fully know that I'm from North Korea; and that I ain't no one's Queen. " I say, slowly getting something from my ankle strap.
" W-well you're actually a m-monster. " Justin says, his voice shaking.
I narrow my eyes as I watch his face, reading it like a book.
" You're not lying... are you?.. "
" S-see! You possess inhuman abilities! L-like reading anyone's f-face! "
" Yeah, but anyone can do that" I reason.
Justin goes into a thinking pose, then resets to his previous position, hands up.
" When you were 5, y-your parents went to jail. Y-you beat up all the guards and saved them, am I-I right?"
I swiftly grabbed my extra dagger and put it to his neck.
" How do you know that. " My usually cold voice coming out colder than normal.
" Y-you commanded us t-to watch o-over you!. W-when you were r-reincarnated! "
He blurts out, quickly covering his mouth.
Don't Believe him...
What?..
My head began paining, each memory began flowing in.
“AGH” I yelled out in pain. My ears rang as I watched Justin mouth something…
“Sleep dreams”
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Naki woke up in a jail cell. Her arms were chained very loosely, loose enough for her to wiggle her arm out. Her memories now all gained, she blasted out of the cell and teleported up to the throne room.
“Where is he?” Naki’s voice boomed as the servants turned to look at her.
“M-My Queen!” They all yelled, falling to the ground.
“Where is he?!” Naki asked again, more strict now.
“I’m right here. “ A very proud and well dressed Justin says.
“Ubel” Naki scowls.
“Ah! My Queen” He says proudly, opening his arms.
In a second, the two began fighting. No one could keep track of their movements, the only thing that was seen was the clashing between the swords.
The fight lasted 10-20 minutes, maybe 30.
“Haa… You’re getting old, My Queen” Ubel exclaims as he puts his sword to Naki’s neck.
“You’re a traitor” Naki yells.
“No.. no! You’ve got it all wrong! It’s just… “ Ubel squats down to Naki’s height. “Power? No?”
And then it was over. Through the smoke, the servants saw someone hit the ground.
“M-my Queen?” A servant squeaked.
Laughter was heard throughout the room, signaling the defeat of Park Naki.
“Y-you… YOU PSYCHO” A brave servant yells, grabbing a sword that was lying around.
The other servants watched as their colleague was being played with, blood splattering everywhere. They closed their eyes, not wanting to watch their colleague die.
“Y-you! HOW!?” Ubel yelled in horror as he struggled to get his sword out of Naki's grasp.
The zombied Naki snapped the sword in half and threw it away.
“Spirits never die… And she still has her Rune… She can’t die..” A servant chirped.
In fact, green runes will gift the user one chance to be resurrected, but this is The Queen we’re talking about, she has every single green Rune in her arsenal.
And then; it was officially over. Ubel was killed.
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Word got out of the Girl Monster, the government was scared but also excited to welcome her into the world, as a protector, of course. She continued to rule over the dungeons, but she never interferes with the raids.
This is the story of The Girl Monster.
Crack Crush Crack Crush
The sound of wood splitting rung out throughout the forest, probably alarming the many monsters in there.
" phew... " A very well aged man says wiping the puddling sweat off of his forehead.
"Master! Master" his few disciples called, running to him.
" Hello, children " He says soothingly as they sit down before him.
" Master! Tell us a story! " They plead, a few giving puppy eyes.
" Story? Of what? This old man can't remember any! " He bellows.
" Tell us the story of your younger days! Before you came here! " One suggests. The others quickly nodded with pleading eyes.
" hm... Fine, fine. Only if you do twice as much training you did today. "
" Yes! We will! Now hurry, the day is growing long, we mustn't waste anytime! "
He chuckles and finds his way toward a tree. A very old tree, one that holds much importance to him, for without it, he wouldn't be here.
The padded feet of trespassers on the mossy floor was no surprise to the monsters. Their steps were swift and clean, leaving no print as they ran. The armoury they wore under their dark green cloaks didn't weigh them down, if anything they would have ran twice as fast.
"No! Start from the beginning!" One disciple said in a whinny voice.
" Sh... we mustn't be impatient, you must remember what you were taught young one." He responded, giving a small smile at the young boys eagerness.
Anyway, the cloaked men reached their destination, taking cover behind the many boulders and trees. Their hushed whispers barely heard by the guardians. The chilling breeze sent shivers throughout the world, telling each and every being that something was going to happen today.
Today was inevitable.
The castle walls boomed as a door shut, an angry man stormed into the throne room, disturbing the meeting.
" Yes? Count Gerald? " The King asked, putting down the papers he held in his hands.
" You... you said it would work! " Gerald yelled, slamming his hands onto the table leaving few cracks on the glass tabletop.
" Please keep your composure, Count Gerald. There are guests, we mustn't disturb them. "
He looked around and bowed to each person, angrily apologizing.
" My King, this is no laughing matter! " He yelled, his veins at the edge of popping.
" I am not laughing, Count Gerald, but please can we talk about this somewhere... " He began whispering "private?"
Sighing, Gerald led the way to the Kings private study room, carefully making sure that there was no maid, no guard, and absolutely no other officer.
" What is the problem? " The King asks, losing his patience.
" What you ask can not be explained. We must venture out to the edge of the Demon Forest, there you will see. "
" I understand, we will leave at nightfall. Ready the horses, call three of the best guards. And keep this a secret at all costs. Do you understand? "
" Yes, Sir! " Gerald bows and leaves.
The King sighed as another coughing fit came. As it began to end, he spit out blood.
" I must find a heir... my son is too young and immature to take such responsibility. "
In a village not much further than here, lived a young man who lived to serve as a fisherman. One-day, he grew tired of his boring life, a life where you did only a limited things. Eat. Sleep. Fish. and then repeat.
He aspired to be a great cultivator, defeating the greatest of enemy , where people would look up to him and treasure him.
" Mother! I shall start my journey to the Temple Of Core! You must not wait for my return, for you will grow weary! " The young man declared as his mother looked at him with teary eyes.
" My son! You shall not chase after your father! He left us for that cursed Temple! And look! He never came back! " She reasoned, grabbing her son's cloak, while she cried in his embrace.
" Mother... I shall never abandon you.. Why do you think that way? Do you have no faith in your son? " He asks, comforting her.
" I shall trust you.. " She squeaks as her grip loosened on the garments of her only son.
" I shall see you off then, go along " She shooed him out the door and waved him goodbye as he set journey to the Temple Of Core.
The journey to the Temple Of Core takes days, a treacherous walk from about... 2 miles. Yeah, 2 miles.
A low hum came out of the entrance of the Temple Of Core. Shaking, he walked into the Temple, ready to face anything that came into his path.
" Who has entered this holy place? " A low voice grumbled.
" It is I, Arthur Dean. I come to test the strength of my Core."
"... Go away, you're hella weak dude"
Arthur was kicked out, a shocked expression on his face. Frustrated, he started his journey home. The truth suddenly hit him as he was passing the Core Forest.
I'm weak. I can't become a cultivator. He thought, clenching his fists so tight his hands began to bleed. I'll show him.... Fine!
" You know what?! I'll travel through the Core Forest! " He declared, walking angrily into the forest.
The walk was treacherous, the steep incline weighing heavy on his barely protected feet. The air became thin, the weather gloomy. Still in his thoughts, Arthur didn't notice that not a single monster had dared to attack him.
As he reached the end of the forest road, he saw a tree. A very beautiful tree. There were two white figures standing before it, one on the left and the other on the right.
Arthur knew right away that they were the Guardians. He began walking toward it, hypnotized by the sweet aroma coming from it. Surprisingly, they left him through. The swords they weld turned into flames as the scenery behind them turned to ash.
Arthur reached out, grasping onto the branches of the tree, in that moment a lightning bolt struck him. His bod'y fell to the ground, his clothes burnt and his skin crisp. A great fire fell from the heavens, engulfing Arthur in it.
Arthur felt a great power rise in him, his body healthier, more fine. He was taller now, his hair thicker, his skin darker. He was a new man.
He walked out of there, monsters attacking him left and right. Not a single one could leave even a mere scratch on him.
The forest that once separated the far and main land were now joined, each gaining new materiels from each other.
Many prophets were curious on who had brought the two places together, for there was once a prophecy that was passed down from generations to generations.
' A great King will come, he will walk the roads and all shall bow to him. The torches will light in honor of the new King's reign. A great rainbow will be casted above him, symbolizing the start of a new era. '
And just like the prophecy, everything came true.
Many years passed as the King's reign came to an end, he vanished into the Core Forest never to be seen again. Legend has it that if a wandering man comes along asking for help to escape the forest, acknowledge him for if you don't, you won't come out alive.
The children ooed and aahhed as the old man created magic, showing the story.
" But... is the legend true? " A little girl asked, bringing drinks and food for the young boys.
" Ah! It is true, for if you don't be kind you won't come out" He said, waving his fingers in a creepy way.
" So remember, my dear children, always have the heart of a King for you never know what will come out of it. "
" Now go along, children supper must be ready. " He said smiling, watching them run into the small cottage.
He looked up at the old tree, still providing shelter even after 200 years.
"My old friend, it seems you will have to create a new King, no? " He said, patting the rough oak bark.
He went into the cottage, closing the door behind him. And he knew very well that there was a Guardian behind the tree.
" It seems I do, Arthur.. It appears I do. "
