When I heard my mother talk about Hunter in that way, I felt guilty because it wasn't even the truth.
The truth was that he doesn't even know that he has a daughter. And today it was her first birthday and instead for him being here with us, celebrating her, he had no clue about it.
He doesn't even know anything about her existence and that was my 𝙛𝙖𝙪𝙡𝙩.
Sometimes, I feel like a terrible person for keeping this huge secret from him and there were days when I wish I had told him about her. But then I had to remind myself why I did it.
I just had to protect her, and the only way I could do that was by not telling him.
However, there was a downside to all this.
As Rose gets older, she may be curious about who her father is, and if she finds out the truth, I'm afraid she will hate me.
