Her colleagues highly rely on her to help them with their issues, whether it's in work or in love.
Juliette Winters
If a man immediately compliments your appearance, dump him and find a man who compliments your smile.
... despite having zero experience in dating.
While everyone else is obsessed with the new CEO, Juliette has her reservations.
Juliette Winters
He got the position because of his grandfather. He hardly earned it.
Liam Thorne
Is that so? I didn't know that you thought that way about me!
Juliette has a secret, a secret that has been passed through her bloodline for centuries.
Sage Winters
You must give birth to a baby before you turn 25 or you will suffer a gruesome death!
She has to have a child before she turns 25, or else she will die!
What will happen when Liam Thorne is the one to find out that she wants a baby first?
Liam Thorne
You want a baby? My, you wouldn't be trying to date one of my employees now, would you?
Now he knows! But there is another issue: he wants to become my baby daddy!
Liam Thorne
This works out well. The truth is, I'm cursed too, and our fates seemed to have lead us to each other, Juliette.
A deal is made, and things begin to spiral out of Juliette's control very fast.
Liam Thorne
Let's make a baby, Juliette.
In this game of survival, will love reign supreme?
Will the couple develop unexpected feelings over their expecting bundle of joy?
And what happens when Liam begins to act outside of the clauses of their deal?
Liam Thorne
You touch her again, and say goodbye to your hand.
Liam Thorne
I'm sorry, did you think that after touching my pregnant wife, I'd let you off the hook?
Liam Thorne
It's our baby, I'm the father. Of course I'd show up to the appointments.
Liam Thorne
Did you know that having séx during this stage of pregnancy can help the baby come out earlier?
Liam Thorne
I'd love to take a bite out of you.
Liam Thorne
I'll be good to you. I'll be good to you and our baby.
Liam Thorne
Oh no, I forgot for a second that you're mine.
Liam Thorne
I thought that whoever claimed that ring finger of yours had to die, because you belong with me.
Liam and Juliette have many challenges to face, including their families, Liam's enemies, and more.

Chapter 2 - Confidence Call
Juliette Winters
Honestly...
It was just like any other day at the office.
Sitting at my desk, peering through mountains of emails all awaiting a reply, scanning through documents and simply doing my job.
But just when you think everything is going your way, you receive that bit of news that will tip it over the edge.
That news came in the form of a phone call.
My phone began to buzz, and I immediately recognised the contact.
Sammy, the receptionist at the front desk.
Juliette Winters
Yes? Juliette Winters speaking. What's up Sammy?
Sammy
Miss Winters, there's a woman waiting for you in the foyer.
A woman? I wasn't expecting anyone today.
I glanced at my calendar and sure enough, I didn't have any meetings scheduled.
Sammy
She claims to be your mother, Miss Winters.
I haven't spoken to her ever since she divorced my dad when I was 16.
Juliette Winters
I'll be right down.
Sammy
Should I get her some coffee or something to drink?
That is if she isn't drunk already.
Juliette Winters
I'll be right down, so no need.
I logged out of my laptop and proceeded to rush out of my office.
Please, please don't be drunk.
Please don't cause a scene at my work...
Please make this a mistake.
While rushing towards the elevator, it was just about to shut when I placed my foot between the doors to stop it from closing.
I wasn't going to be late down after all.
As I looked up to see the person taking the elevator, my nose stiffened.
Liam Thorne. CEO of the company and the most annoying man to be around.
He was everything that I hated about society.
Since he was young, he's been handed everything he could ever want, including the CEO position.
I walked in, ignoring him before checking my watch.
I became irritated when I realised that he had done the same thing.
I crossed my arms, just as he had, and unfolded them just as fast.
Is he imitating me? Does he find this funny? Playing games like a child?
That annoyed tone of his will make me slap him one day.
Juliette Winters
Ground floor.
He made no movement to press the button since it was the floor that he had pressed.
Liam Thorne
Have I done something to offend you, Miss Woods?
Urgh, I'd rather do this elevator ride in silence.
Juliette Winters
What do you mean? We hardly know each other, Mr Thorne.
Liam Thorne
If I ordered you to smile at me, would you?
I turned towards him and frowned.
Another reason why I hate him is because he 'orders' people to do a lot of things, and I've never yet seen someone refuse him.
I bet that if he 'ordered' the pretty girls in HR to spread their legs, they'd do it without hesitation.
Juliette Winters
I believe that can be classed as harassment.
Liam Thorne
At least you're aware.
I cringed away from him, gently looking out of the elevator.
This elevator was quite fancy, the chamber was made of glass so you could see the company foyer and the different floors as you went down.
If I don't concentrate on what's outside, I might begin to focus on what's inside.
Liam Thorne
You seem to be in a hurry.
Liam Thorne
I don't believe that this is an appropriate time for a lunch break either.
I want to smash that arrogant face of his against this glass elevator.
Juliette Winters
I have a matter to attend to.
Liam Thorne
Is it perhaps business related?
Juliette Winters
I believe that it's none of your business.
Juliette Winters
I've already done my hours for the week.
Liam Thorne
So why are you still here?
Juliette Winters
To annoy you, why else?
Just as the elevator was three floors away from the ground floor, it suddenly froze.
The elevator floor shuttered, and I nearly fell on my butt.
Juliette Winters
What in the-
Liam Thorne
Urgh, I've spent so much on this stupid elevator, you'd think that it wouldn't stall.
You've got to be kidding me...

Chapter 3 - Tension
This was highly unappreciated, especially since I can see my mother chatting away and laughing with my colleagues, saying goodness-knows-what.
Juliette Winters
Have you called your guys yet?
Liam Thorne
Do you know of the word 'patience'?
Juliette Winters
Patience.
Juliette Winters
The capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.
Juliette Winters
That word, you mean?
Liam Thorne
What, did you swallow a dictionary?
Juliette Winters
Did you swallow your patience yet?
I sighed, sitting down on the floor of the elevator.
Liam Thorne
What are you doing?
Juliette Winters
I'm sorry, is sitting on the floor illegal or something?
Juliette Winters
Let me answer you that, no it isn't.
My high heels hurt my feet after standing for a while.
Suddenly, I saw him slump against the wall and fall down, sitting in front of me.
Juliette Winters
I didn't ask you to join me.
Liam Thorne
I thought that sitting on the floor wasn't illegal.
I went to say something smart, but I decided to refrain from it.
He's my boss after all. It doesn't matter how annoying he is, I can't put him in his place like he deserves.
Liam Thorne
Why did you go silent?
Juliette Winters
Because I value my job.
Liam Thorne
You disappoint me.
Juliette Winters
I was never trying to impress you.
Liam Thorne
Many people do.
Juliette Winters
Good for them.
Liam Thorne
But you don't.
I suddenly made the mistake to look up at him.
I never noticed how green his eyes were.
His chiseled jaw, his sharp nose, and those lips.
He ran his tongue over his bottom lip unconsciously, and that was enough for me to turn away.
Juliette Winters
Do I need a reason for everything I do?
Juliette Winters
Well, if me not liking you is enough of a reason, then there you go.
Liam Thorne
But why do you not like me?
Juliette Winters
Of course, nothing is wrong with you.
Juliette Winters
My apologies, Mr Thorne.
Liam Thorne
Now you're becoming increasingly frustrating.
Juliette Winters
Glad that we're on the same page.
Suddenly, the elevator shifted and I felt us going down.
I sighed with relief, but he got up and slammed his hand against the emergency stop button, causing us to stall again.
Juliette Winters
What the heck?
Liam Thorne
I want an answer.
Juliette Winters
Are you joking? Take your finger off of it before this thing actually breaks.
Liam Thorne
I need one. Now.
I snarled at this arrogant guy who believed he could do whatever he wanted without consequence.
Juliette Winters
Fine. You want an answer? I'll give you one.
I slammed my hand against the elevator door, my face scowling.
Juliette Winters
You believe that all of this belongs to you.
Juliette Winters
The people in it included?
Juliette Winters
You're one step from becoming a tyrant king who cares more about the interior design of his palace than his people.
I placed my hand on top of his, pushing it off the button so that we could get moving again, and I suddenly saw his breath hitch.
I looked up and suddenly, I saw a face that I never believed I'd ever see.
He looked... so unusual. Something about him in that moment didn't fit with his normal personality.
Suddenly, the elevator began to move again and it pinged before Liam even had the chance to push the button to stop it.
The door opened and I walked out, right past his assistant.
He seemed dumbfounded, and immediately rushed to his boss's side.
Jason Smith
Is everything alright, Sir?
Liam Thorne
Yes. Everything is fine.
He pulled the cuff of his shirt down, walking out of the elevator and disappearing down the stairs to the underground parking space.
All while I headed straight for the one woman I didn't want left alone in my workplace.
