I was sleeping on a familiar bed with machines attached in my whole body and I was feeling pain all over my body but no matter how I scream I knew no body will help me and I know it cause I was what they called a lab rat , all these happened due to my so called family they sold me to scientist so as they can get more connection and protection from them cause my sisters boyfriend was one of the scientist or should I say my cousin?

My parents died when I was 16years old and was taken by my uncle and aunts a member of their family and I was told to call them dad and mom and I kept calling them aunt and uncle they took care of me although they were cold to me but still they treated me well but that was before the apocalypse hit

While we were on the run to find a base to settle down and one day I was pushed by my dear cousin in a horde of zombies as a sacrifice lamb so that they can run away but I survived cause I managed to awaken my fire ability and burn down the group of zombies to ashes , cause my flame was stronger than normal and when the so called family saw me destroying the zombies with my powers , they started to curry favour with me telling me all that family should stay together and made my cousin apologize to me and said she didn’t do it on purpose that she pushed me by accident and me being me I believe them and that is when I started being the family slave

When we reached the base due to that I was an ability user I was given a small house so that I can live with my so called family

I started doing mission outside the base to earn points and food for the whole family while my family was sitting around at home doing nothing and eating few month later my cousin awaken her water ability and my uncle awake earth ability but still I was the main provider at home cause my uncle hated going outside fighting zombies , and I thought it was my responsibility taking care of them as they have taken care of me when my parents died in a car accident

Two years later when I was returning from my missions as always I was received by my family warmly than ever and I was so happy that my family was being so good to me and even cooked me a good meal , I was so hungry and ate the meal prepared as always , but I suddenly started to get sleepy all of the sudden and I blacked out , and when I opened my eyes I was bounded in an unfamiliar bed and was told that my family had sold me to be experimented , I was so shocked and mad of what they did to me after all I had done to help them and treated them as my real family but as the saying goes there is no medicine for regret

And here I m now bounded and being used as a lab rat and I m somehow used to pain cause it had been a year I guess I don’t know in exact cause I wasn’t allowed to go anywhere although they feed me so that I don’t die so they can use me more although I wasn’t the only lab rat , there were other people who were also used a lab rat we were five in total but one died few days ago and couldn’t take the intense pain that she was inflicted with and now there are only four of us and we chat sometimes when the scientist are resting

One day when I was tired and in pain laying bounded after some experiment done with my body I heard a familiar voice and when I opened my eyes I saw my so called cousin standing not far from me with a mocking smile

“ are you having fun here my dear sister or should I say cousin “ said my stupid cousin while smiling at me which made me want to scratch her smiley face

“ why “ I asked with my hoarse voice due to the way I was screaming during the experiment

“ why what? That we sold you? That is because you were useless to us ”

“ but …….we are family “

“ family my *** do you think we considered you as family? You were just a money making machine for us , my parents took you in because your parents left you a huge inheritance my dear cousin and my dad was receiving a lot of money for raising you , and in your parents will was you can inherit everything after getting married so all we had to do was to stop those suitors until we were able to get your full inheritance and chase you away and your black card helped us a lot getting free money to use but who knew the apocalypse would hit so soon and we had to ran , remember the day I pushed you to be eaten by zombies? I really wanted you to die cause you were so useless to us but who knew you would be able to wake your powers and become useful again? And after being coxed a little you gave in and become our little slave , you were to lucky to awake your ability first and I really hated you for that but mom said we will

take care of you after we awake our abilities but who knew our awaken abilities could be more inferior to you ? how can you be so lucky all the time ? but then we got lucky cause the scientist wanted to taste your amazing strong power that can destroy and burn a zombies body to ash and promise us a life time protection and will be taking care of all our needs just for you ? and you can only blame your self , who told you to be so powerful and stupid enough to trust us ? so for now you can only be a lab rat till the end of your life and I have a surprise to tell you , your parents are alive and they ware searching for you but mom told them that you already died and they were so sad not knowing their poor baby girl is being experimented like a rat what a tragic ooh I remember we can trick your parents here like we tricked you so you can have a family reunion and the scientist will be so happy and increase our payments what do you think? Aren't I a genius? “ said my cousin as she laugh so hardly and I was so angry that I was only a piece o chase to them and I started feeling power through my body trying to break free and suddenly I found my self teleport-ed in front of my cousin with my hand chocking her although I was shocked for a second but I still increase my strength in chocking her I wanted her dead then suddenly I felt a stab on the left side of my body and when I look down I saw I was stabbed on the heart by a knife my cousin was holding and I felt pain across my whole body and the strength was leaving my body and my hand left my cousin neck and I fell down and I knew this was the end , I was dying although I was reluctant but there was nothing I could do I really regret trusting them and now my parents are in their clutches but as the saying goes there is no medicine for regret I just hope my parents get to discover their schemes

Then suddenly I heard the door burst ed open and I saw my cousin froze with her mouth open and I saw fear in her eyes then I saw her being pushed away by unknown force and hit the wall and my body was put in someones arms and when I look at the person I saw my mother but she look older now than I last seen her before the accident

“ my baby mommy is sorry mom was late “

“ mom “ I said with a hoarse voice and I could taste a metallic taste of blood in my mouth , I was happy to see them again and fine and I was also sad that I was dying and couldn’t stay with them , my mom was crying and my dad was looking at me with red eyes

“ I m so sorry my child mommy is so sorry I m sorry that I wasn’t there for you and protect you” said my mom crying and I started feeling dizzy and my eyes were closing

“ I love you mom” I said as I drifted to the darkness

If I were to be given a last chance I would never be stupid like I once was , I thought as I lost my consciousness

heard noise like someone was knocking the door but how can I hear anything when I m already dead and I opened my eyes looking at familiar blue ceiling and sat on my bed which was warm and comfy as I look around I recognize this room it is my room in my aunt house that I used to live In why I m I here again and alive? Don’t tell me I was given a second chance to live and I took my phone on the bed stand and look at the calender and I saw it was 29 august20** and it was a week before apocalypse, so that means I can change my disgusting fate and I might be able to meet with my parents again thinking about it I was so happy but then I heard the door opened and when I turned toward the door I saw my cousin Sara standing at the door in her school uniform

“ your still in bed ? I m leaving first I don’t want to get late because of your laziness you can just take a cab “ said Sara and left angrily

I was so shocked to see her again the person I wanted to kill the most soon as I woke up and she have appeared and left just like that, but then I remember that the time the world was a civilized one and I would be put in jail if I kill somebody

but then I remembered my black card was on the hand of Sara so that's means I cant buy anything to prepare for apocalypse, so I got out of bed and hurried down stairs with my pajamas to find Sara before she left to school

When I reached down stairs I found Sara coming out of the kitchen with her lunch box in her hand

“ Sara wait “ I called her out loud so she can hear me well

“ what there is no way I m waiting for you “ said Sara with a pouting her lips

“ I don’t want you to wait for me I just want my bank card “ I said and saw Sara stunned

“ I m still using it just tell me how much you want and I will give it to you “ said Sara

Is she crazy or what ? it is my card which my parents left for me

“ no thanks just give me the card “ I said as I walked closer to her

“ if your doing this because I didn’t wait for you then I will wait for you “ said Sara angrily cause for years I let her use it as hers and never asked for it

“ not at all I have things to buy “ I said as I snatched her wallet which was still in her hands and opened it and took my card and returned her wallet in her hands and left Sara stood there shocked looking at me going back to my room

I knew she would be shocked and unwilling to give back my card , who wont be shocked when a black card was snatched from his or her hands and I can still remember her saying in my last life how my card helped them a lot with free money

I walked back toward my room leaving her frozen in shock that I took my card cause she have been using it for years now and I never asked for it at all and she was used in spending my money showing out to her friends

I couldn’t care much about her now and headed to my room and when I entered my room I locked my room door and went straight to get a bath , after I finished my bath I went straight to my closet and opened it and it contained shirts and long pants no dresses at all cause as I remember I stopped wearing dresses when Sara told me that that they look bad on me and started wearing pants , the only skirts that I had was school uniforms skirts , so I picked up my white t shirt and blue long skin jeans and wore them

After I finished dressing up I took my wallet and put my card in it and headed to the door then I suddenly heard a knock on the door

So I unlocked the door and opened it and found my so called aunt standing there with her fake smile on her face which made me feel disgusted

“ what are you wearing aren't you going to school ?”

“ no I m not I m going to the hospital for a check up” I said to her

“ um… I heard you snatched the card from Sara and…”

“ I didn’t snatch it I took it cause it was mine and I want to use it too”

“ yeah your right , but your little sister wanted to use it today too can you just lend her your card and you can just use my card when you go to the appointment ?”

“ there Is no need for that she can just use her own card and also if she wants more you can lend her yours “

“ what ? but..”she tried to protest trying to use her sweet word to convince me

“ aunt lets talk later its almost time for my appointment so I will get going now” I said cutting her sentences and walked pass her and left her standing near my door , giving me her card? Why don’t she give it to her spend-iff daughter to use there was no way I would be giving them my card again cause those were my parents hard earned money when I reached down stairs I saw Sara sitting on the sofa as if waiting for something her eyes was red , don’t tell me she went to cry to her mother for my card

“ where are you going ?”

“ to the hospital “

“ can you lend me your card for today and I will return it “ said Sara looking wronged, as if as I care about her

“ no I have some use with it “ I said and walked past her

I left the house and took a cab and headed to the huge famous mall in the city and bought a lot of limited edition dresses, sport pants and sweaters , night dresses, shoes and some daily necessary like tooth brush,tooth paste towels and some beauty products and give my address so that they can be delivered at my aunts house

I headed to my best friend apartment, my friend was called Natasha she was the best friend I ever had at school and also in apocalypse we were a member of the same team and she always stood by me as I remember my best friend was given a week suspension, cause she hit one of one of our girl class mate in the face, which caused her a nose bleed cause the girl sat in her chair

I arrived at my best friend apartment door and rang a bell, it have been years since i have last been here, i waited outside and after few minutes the door opened by Natasha my best friend, i really missed her alot it have been long since i have last seen her cause the last time i have seen her was few hours before i returned to my uncles family and got drugged and locked away in the lab to be experimented

“ your here ? why are you here? aren't you supposed to go to school today?” asked Natasha but I didn’t answer her and lunged onto her hugging her , she once used to tell me that my family were using me during the apocalypse and I didn’t trust her but still she kept being close to me , I started feeling so emotional and end up crying in her arms , if only I had trusted her I might have not died in Sara's hands

“ what is it did anybody bully you tell me I will go hit his/her *** for you?” said Natasha which made me laugh a little

“ you can keep hitting people all the time look at what happened to you now ?” I asked her

“ but he deserved it who told him to sit on my sit?, See? she was asking for a biting “ said Natasha as if she was in the right

“ wont you let me in ?” I asked her

“ ooh sorry I was just surprised to see you here at this time and young lady you didn’t answer my question you know “ said my friend Natasha as she close the door behind us

“ I just decided to give my self a free day today and visit my best friend is it wrong ?” I asked her looking at her with puppy eyes

" wow who taught you such a trick? "

" from you " i said smiling at her

" no way i cant act cute at all, also you have changed alot today, you talk alot " said Natasha and sat infront of me

" okay tell me why are you here for real, you never missed school "

" i have something to tell you "

" wow your so serious, dont tell me its the end of the world " said Natasha laughing

" yeah it is the end of the world " i said looking at her

" stop kidding me now "

" im not its real this week is the last " i said leaning on the sofa behind me

" who told you that "

"i. ..i dreamed about it " i said, there was no way i m telling her that i have already experienced apocalypse in my previous life cause she wont believe it at all

" thats just a dream nothing else there is no way its the end of the world " said Natasha smiling

" Natasha can you just trust me this once " i look at her

" okay lets say i trust you but still it doesn't make any sense "

" okay i just want you to trust me no lets treat it as a bet if untill Sunday morning and if nothing happen till then i will fulfill any of your request okay? "

" uuuuum . okay deal "

" here is my card, use it to buy food stufs, tracks, and some heavy cloth for winter, the more the better " i said putting my card in her hand and she looked shocked

" are you for real? " asked Natasha

" yep, and dont forget to buy cartons of water we will need it " i said smiling at her

" wow girl, this is a real black card? your uncle must be doting you too much to give you this card "

" that's not my uncle's card its mine from parents "

" wow but i never saw you use it before "

" ooh i lend it to my cousin "

" what? you just casually lend her a black card? my dad never even let me touch his but you lend it to someone to use? " asked Natasha looking at me as if i was an alien

" something like it " i said looking aside not wanting to face Natasha, i knew i was stupid, who lends people their black card to use?

" i cant use your card "

" why? "

" you cant trust people with money dear and also what will you use when you want to buy something? "

" but i trust you, you are my best friend and also i dont have any use with it for now " i said looking at her in the eyes , i dont care about the card at all, cause in few days money will be useless

" okay i will buy all the things that you told me happy ?" said Natasha agreeing to my demands
