The Endor Castle
My shoes crunched the gravel as I stopped before the front steps of the castle.
Now that I looked closer.
This ancient structure was far larger than the Manor I expected when I filled out the form for the job.

I looked back as the cab that brought me here drove off.
This was the best option I had left
I had graduated from college the previous year
And since then, I have been trying to pay off my student loans and debts left behind by my late mother
I never imagined I would be struggling between several part time jobs.
Since one of my bosses had been unable to give me a raise no matter how many hours I promised to put in, she had directed me to different job offer.
Someone opened the front door, grabbing my attention.
I looked up to see a woman peek out
The words were on the tip of my tongue but I swallowed them.
She opened the door wider and stepped out
She was dressed in a well pressed suit and her modern attire stood out against the backdrop of the old castle.
I was surprised.
I grabbed my bag and walked up the steps, following her inside.
I walked into a large polished wooden hallway and I paused.
The inside was modern and expensive. Completely different from the outside.
The woman closed the door behind me and I straightened.
My rent was past due, I really didn't know where to go if I were to fail the interview

We walked through an open archway into a small hall
Heavy curtains were pulled aside to reveal large windows which shone brightly into the polished tiled room
Sofas, stools and a table were neatly arranged, and a number of chandeliers dangled from the high ceiling

I nodded, looking around.
I stood still for a stunned moment

A young lady walked into the parlour through another arched entrance
She was dressed in a maid uniform and she looked to be around 18
Then again, I couldn't say for sure since most people thought I looked younger than my age.

I then remembered that I hadn't greeted Elle "Good Morning" but she didn't seem to mind as she was focused on the girl instead.

Delilah, this is Loretta.

She will be your new partner and will be assisting you in taking care of West wing of the castle

You will escort Delilah to the servant quarters and fill her up on the tasks she will be taking along with you.
Loretta didn't answer and Elle turned to me

Loretta will lead you to your room and get you settled in

You're free to unpack your belongings and rest till later this afternoon when your uniform will be ready
Elle nodded and walked away, leaving me alone with Loretta
I followed Loretta back where she came from and we ended up in another hallway
My head was still reeling from the roller-coaster of nerves and emotions I had just experienced minutes ago
