I was the world's top notch business woman famous for her aloofness and cruelty. But who could have thought I will die in the hands of my own beloved mother, whom I treasured the most but she hated me thinking because of me my dad met a tragic end.

When I was 4 years old, my dad died while protecting me from the men of world's most famous assassination organization,Quark.

When I became successful, I did my best to find out who ordered the assassination and got to know it was the leader of the organisation but still I think there was someone else behind him. Even knowing that, I gave him a tragic death and the organisation started to crumble but thinking about it's foundation I, Lin Ai, decided to rule it.

Even so what's the use, the person whom I wanted to protect the most still backstabbed me.

I had an assumption that my mom was planning something in the dark but who could have expected it was actually against me.

That day I returned from my Sydney's Buisness trip and got a report from my mother, Dai Su's caretaker, Madam Xiao, that mother missed me therefore she was waiting for me in my office. I felt warm, that she's actually waiting for me...but who knew....it was apparently my last day to meet her. I reached the office as fast as I could, and ran inside the room and hugged my dear mother. Then, I realised that my chest was bleeding....right 1 inch away from my heart and with one twist, it was my end. But in reality, my love, care and happiness had already shattered into pieces with that one cold look from my mother's eyes. 'Maybe this is the end....' I wondered but yet I was really not ready to accept this.

On my last breath, I had stumbled due to pain on the floor and asked her in a desperate tone, 'cause she had already stabbed me directly in my heart,"Why...Why ... what's there I didn't give you??Was there anything amiss in my arrangements?? Just tell me for god's sake..WHY??!!!

It was way too painful. Everything seemed to be shattered. What went wrong...what did I do wrong... I asked her with helplessness and worry in my eyes.

And do you know what reply I got?

She said,"You never did anything wrong my child, it was me who was wrong who decided to give birth to such a cruel and narcissist person. See, you don't know what you actually even did". She sighed in utter disappointment.

She sat on the president's seat of my company, ignoring me as if I was nothing. What she said still rings in my mind no matter how long it has been,"Dear, I love you but you know what your dad died a tragic death inorder to save you. He..he gave up on me, his life just for what, a 4 year old kid?!! I was devastated at that moment there was nothing left for me, only revenge!! I have waited for this day in my god damn whole life, finally I can rest in peace after killing the killer of my dear husband, he will be proud of me, regard me as the best. He will be happy after watching you dying in this way, stabbed by your own mother whom you treasured the most...!! Hahaha..."She was laughing hysterically without any sense.

I was pitying myself,'....Why....just why did he saved me isn't it better to die without any emotion rather than like this?!!'

I started laughing and coughing... and then said,"Yes he was quite pitiful, even more pitiful than me. I'm thinking just why did he married a woman of low IQ and EQ like you. He loved me, cared for me, 'cause I was the one who presented your love....hah...but what's the use now, it's already the end..."

She came back from her wonderland and pondered over my words and they probably, stucked her hard.

She came towards me screaming something but unfortunately, my vision had already became blurry, everything slowly became black. I understood it's the end.. I sighed in my heart and thought if there would be another chance I wish to have some sincere people around me, after all I'm way too tired by putting up a front in front of everyone. After that, a tear escaped my eyes and everything felt like being devoured in nothingness....

I felt a bit dizzy when I opened my eyes. I saw a little teenager girl staring at me anxiously and the atmosphere seemed tense some how.

I thought of asking them, I said where am I ? But to my surprise, I wasn't speaking instead it was like a baby's cry like 'wu -wa-we-wu'.

I was startled and thought what happened to me?!! I tried to touch my neck but I wasn't able to control my body in a proper way. Just then I noticed I was actually a new born baby here!!

But since I'm a newborn shouldn't I forget what happened in my past life,why is it still so clear in my memory!

Just when I was pondering I noticed that everyone was beaming with happiness saying" The baobei is alive, it's even moving!!".

I gave them a look 'seriously, obviously I'm alive or else do you think a dead baby can talk'.

I guess it was caught by dad, and he stared at me intently and since I wasn't afraid of him, I glared back while crouching my nose. Everyone started laughing due to the interaction between us.

My mother said,"Aiya,stop scaring our child, he is so small but still you are staring him like he is a criminal,humph!!"

Even I was mused by my mom's words, I smiled at her and laughed but instead it seemed like a baby's no teeth grin.

She teased me saying" You're looking like an old man like that!!".

I stopped smiling,and my face turned sour but still she laughed out loud.

I thought,'Just you wait damn old woman, I will kick your *** once I grow up, humph!!!'

I guess the entire time my dad was reading my expressions and hence he picked me up, and told my so-called mother to take rest, despite all the resistance by me mom and me, I was still brought out.

He brought me out, and took me towards another courtyard. I was amused by all the things I saw in the way in his arms, it was an ancient scenery, those which can only be witnessed in dramas and classical paintings.

I thought,'Just where in the world am I?!!'

After a walking about 15 minutes, he brought me to a room with wooden bed and classical set up. I was looking around the room, when suddenly he picked me up, put up a translucent screen with a wave of his hands and started to inspect me from every corner. I was angry but of what use, I let him fumble around.

After an hour or so, he stopped and looked at me and asked,"Who are you?"

I was startled by his question but in order to save myself, because anything can happen to me here, I started crying, a really, really loud cry or else my mom won't save me!! I cried like I was in hell, but that jerk old man didn't even seem to care he just stared at me with his clear eyes.

Not only that, but I snorted, cried and just when I was about to fall off the bed he caught me and said," It's alright baobei, I'm not going to harm you, it's just that your emotions are not like a child but like an adult instead that's why I asked. Don't be scared, you are my son, and I am your dad there's no fault in this."

I started to calm down slowly and hiccup,but he caressed me in his arms and I felt the love I missed the most, Mom and Dad's company.

He didn't notice my nostalgia but since I calmed down and he said," I guess you still possess your memories from your past life. I don't know how did you die, but since here you are my son you can relax and live as you wish. Just don't do bad things".

He smiled which made my heart warm and I too smiled at him. He seemed very satisfied with my response he then brought me back and laid me next to mom.

Since I was tired from all these, I went to deep sleep.

The very next day, when I woke up, I saw a stranger,she was looking like a 20-25 years old maiden, stunningly beautiful. I must say she was an incredible piece of work.

She smiled at me when she saw me staring at her, and said,"Dear, you know what, your father has taken your mother away for God knows what deed and left you to your grandmother."

Upon hearing that, I thought' Isn't it obvious that the old man wants to do the deed after waiting for so many months, he should have at least wait for her to recover, I chuckled in my heart and then thought, whatever, I want to know who is my granny by the way!! Since this family, looks like a big clan or something, shouldn't I have my whole big family here(⁠✯⁠ᴗ⁠✯⁠)?!'

She chuckled upon watching my curious gaze and god knows how she understood my thoughts and said," Guess who's your grandmother",then she smiled to tease me further.

I wanted to say, 'I can recognise her no matter what,humph!!', but due to old habits ,it skipped my mouth and turned out to be heard as"wu-wae-e-ye-wa"or maybe something like that.

Everyone started to laugh upon hearing my words, even the lady seemed to be amused by my cute little voice. She asked everyone to quiet down and I felt happy to be protected, maybe this is the feeling of being protected.

She said,"I know you don't know anything here,so let me tell you in this world strength is what matters the most, you need to be powerful enough to protect yourself as well as your loved ones. Here, marital arts and cultivation can make you competent,you can pick some other professions as well such as spirit seeker master, armament master, alchemist, beast tamer master,array master,and many more. It's upto you what you want to do."

I was mesmerized by her words, but soon I snapped back and stared at her intently and pouted.

I guess she understood again what I wanted to say,she replied," Your father has already informed the higher ups, your grandparents and your mother that you seem to remember and understand many things which a newborn is unable to understand. Therefore,it means you still remember many things of your past life, maybe."

She smiled at me and I tilted my head and continued to stare at her, she again guessed right and said,"Yeah, I know it's difficult to believe that there are reincarnations, but the world is filled with many mysteries isn't it? Therefore,we can deduce this result only due to your behaviour, later you can tell us about your experiences if you wish."

I understood that no one is gonna force me for anything here. She brought me in a lake side pavillion after changing my clothes and making my hair.

I felt grateful for their trust, therefore I smiled at her when a drop of tear escaped my eyes.

She noticed it, and said ,"Don't you cry, you know when your grandfather knew about you he has warned everyone not to mess with you or else he won't go easy on anyone, even on me ,his own wife!! Everyone was shocked to hear your grandfather's order, he has never behaved like this before, I guess that's because you're way too cute!!!"

She kissed me while holding me in her lap and caressed my cheeks. I was bewildered upon knowing that she was my granny and grandpa was so possessive of me.

I again stared at her and wanted to ask 'why is he so possessive of me??'

She understood my confusion and explained ," It's because you are the first heir of our Wu clan, you are gonna be the next patriarch and hence you are the young master of our clan, Wu Lin."

She told me in a proud manner, I was happy,but suddenly lightening struck me hard, I was the young master here, doesn't this mean I am a guy!!! Gosh, I was single in my last life and here I'm born as a guy, doesn't this mean I can't enjoy a guy myself.

I sighed in my heart and thought,'Everything has a reason, I just need to hold on, I will know it eventually' I reassured myself.

When grandma saw me in a daze and was curious,but she contended her curiosity for the time being, 'cause I am unable to explain anything at the moment.

Just then, a handsome middle-aged man came,and I guessed in my heart that this must be my grandfather after all, using spirit power to maintain beauty seems a common thing here.

I thought it's a good thing that despite being in modern era, I was the world's top prodigy in business and martial arts, yes it existed in our world as well. I was even the most capable doctor you can find but what a pity, my doctorate capabilities were actually not known to many.

When my grandpa saw me in my grandma's arms he pouted and said,"How can you keep him to yourself all day long?!! You didn't even bring him to me to play, humph!!"

I started laughing on his words and he became even happier and rose me high in air and giggled even more, this is what I wanted the most in my last life, family. I promised myself to protect everyone here no matter what.

Just when the grandfather and grandson were having happy time, grandma interrupted him and said,"I guess he has really reincarnated...his behavior and expressions all explain the reason why his father was so tensed at that moment."

She poured herself a cup of tea and same for grandpa. When grandpa heard her words he paused, smiled and said,"No matter what he is my grandson, that's what matters."

Grandma smiled and said," I know, dear." I was enjoying the lovey-dovey interaction between them and then they both stared at me.

I was caught off-guard and hence my grandpa said," Seems like he indeed has knowledge about the deed!"

My granny instantly became flushed red and got up to beat him and I laughed in the maid's arms upon watching their cat-mouse race.

My happiness today, is beyond words, I got such a sweet family and a good household what else is there for me to regret.

I promised myself to keep them happy and safe, no matter what happens.
