Loki had never felt such pain in her entire life, she slapped Leo on his chest trying to wake him up, "leo" she hissed as the pain got worse.

Leo woke up rubbing his eyes, he looked at his wife trying to figure out what was happening, "what's wrong darling" he said half asleep. He rubbed his eyes, he stretched his hand to switch on the bedside lamp

"ah, ah" Loki whimpered in pain

"What's wrong baby," Leo asked as he wore his glasses.

"My water...is...about to ........br....ake..." she said while grabbing the hem of Leo's shirt

Leo finally realized the situation.His mind was trying to adjust to the situation, panic grabbed him and he hurriedly hopped out of bed

Leo was so confused, he was running all over the bedroom"where is the goddamn key" he shouted to himself , panic engulfing him

He turned to look at his wife"hold on darling, just give me a moment, I need to find the keys"Leo said softly.

he turned to look for the car keys again

Loki grabbed the sheets trying to get off the sofa

Loki stretched her hand , trying to get Leo's attention.

Leo was pacing all around the room dis-arranging everything in their bedroom.

"Leo" she shouted now angry.

"They are on the desk downstairs" Loki shouted.

He walked hastily towards her and tried to help her to stand up. He put his hand behind Loki's waist, helping her to walk.

IN THE CAR.

"Please hurry," Loki said trying to breath

Leo stepped a and the gear, stealing glances once in a while to see if his wife was alright.

There was traffic on the road, Leo kept tapping the staring wheel anxiously. He looked at his wife who was filled with sweat, her beautiful glowing face was now pale.

He came out of the car attempting to find other ways to reach the hospital.

The rain immediately started pouring. He looked at the cars horning, and he lost all hope.

suddenly a motorbike passed by, he waved his hand to stop it. please could you take us to the nearest maternity hospital?

Leo opened his car door and took his wife out, he made her seat on the bike.

AT THE HOSPITAL

The stretcher rushed out of the hospital to carry Loki.

Leo rushed in following the doctors

"Hey my money" the man had carried them shouted," Wow", he murmured to himself

He put his helmet on, climbed on his bike and left

Leo was pacing out of the labour room, it had been five hours already, he was exhausted but scared if he closed his eyes something would happen.

He kept dozing off but immediately woke up when he heard any sound.

IN THE LABOUR ROOM

"Breath in, breath out, breath in, slowly, now push, "the nurse said

the head of the baby was seen.

" PUSH" the nurse shouted

Loki was too weak to push all her strength had been drained.

"COME ON WOMAN, PUSH" the nurse shouted angrily.

"Her blood pressure is dropping madam"

The doctor came out of the room looking exhausted.

"Doctor how are my wife and child," I asked the doctor feeling worried

I tried to shove the evil thoughts out of my head, I kept telling myself to calm down and that everything was alright but for some reason, there was still a part of me that was filled with fear.

"congratulations your wife gave birth to two healthy babies," the doctor said

my heart skipped a bit I was so excited to see them, I pushed the door open to see my beautiful wife laying on the bed looking pale. She seemed to have no energy to move, I felt a pang in my chest seeing her in that state. I ignored the guilt that was rising inside of me and took steps further into the room.

She finally tilted her head a bit, and when she saw me she plastered a faint smile on her face.

I felt so happy that I started walking faster towards her, I hugged her fragile body as I felt tears wet my face, I could not believe it, she had just delivered our babies.

I took a seat near her bed and watched as she slipped into the dream world, she seemed exhausted.

I watched her for some time before going to check on our babies, I was so excited as I headed to the nursery.

They looked so adorable, oh my gosh, they were just like their mother.

one of the babies started crying, I saw a nurse head toward them picking up the baby.

The nurse looked at me for a while "are you the father?" the nurse asked

I nodded in response while still smiling.

"Do you want to hold him, she said looking at the now calm baby."

"I did be happy to," I said excited

she handed me the baby," the baby was smirking, I could not believe this

I smiled, my dream had come true.

The baby closed its eyes, it was so peaceful, I felt unwilling to give the baby back to the nurse

"oh sh*t" I forgot to bring some changing clothes for my baby

I went inside the room where my baby had been sleeping, I looked at her peacefully sleeping.

I kissed her forehead the turned to live.

I took a bus to where I had parked my car.

I entered my car and went home.

I was searching for some clothes when I got a phone call

"oh, how are you mum" I greeted Loki's mom

"How come she has delivered and you never told me" her mom spoke angrily not caring to answer my greetings

I chuckled nervously, Loki's temper was bad but her mother was extreme.

I nervously replied to her"Emma it was hectic, I am sorry I forgot to tell you" I said.

"I am heading to the hospital now, I will be there in 30 minutes," she said before hanging up.

I put Loki's clothes in the bag and hurried to go back to the hospital.

there was no traffic this time so I arrived at the hospital in twenty minutes.

There were some nurses coming in and out of my wife's room,I rushed to see what was going on

"sir you cannot come in here" the nurse said before entering the room and locked the door behind her.

The door was opened and the doctor came out,I ran to him to hear what was happening.

"Doctor"

he put his hand on my shoulder

"I am sorry sir, we tried everything"

"I am sorry sir we tried everything we could, "The doctor told Leo before leaving

Leo looked at the ward not believing any word the doctor said, he shook his head a few times, his head became heavy, and his knees were weak, he squatted down and held his head

" No, No this can't be happening"He murmured continuously, still holding his head while facing the floor.

"You can't die" Leo cried out loud, tears were overflowing from his eyes.

Loki's mom arrived at the moment, she ran towards Leo squatting figure. She placed her handbag on the bench and went to hug Leo who was a crying mess at the moment.

"What is the wrong dear, What happened?" She asked worriedly.

"I can't lose her," Leo said hugging her more tightly

He kept repeating that while crying

They hugged for a little over one hour

Leo had now composed himself a little.

"What happened dear," Mrs Lin asked him anxious

"They could not do anything to save her," Leo said with a broken voice

"Who"

Leo's dad arrived at the moment

"Are you okay? Darling what's wrong" Leo's mom, Mrs Duane asked worriedly

"She was fine when I left🥺, she even smiled beautifully in her sleep, then when I came back, the doctors were running in and out of her room" he broke into tears again.

He bowed his head and covered his eyes with his palm

His mother patted his back as he looked at his son tearing up, her heart broke she didn't know what to say but comfort him.

"They could not do anything to save her" Leo stammered

"She is gone, she left me, mom, she left me" Leo's heart shattered into pieces as each word weighed on his heart,he felt his world come crushing down on him, he leaned to his mom for a hug.

His mom's eyes were now teary.

Loki's Mom was staring at thin air, a single warm tear dropped from her eyes, and then more came out overflowing rapidly"my......baby....no.....no....you can't do this"

she stood up and before she could make a step she fainted, luckily Mr Duane grabbed her before she could touch the hard tiled floor.

Leo looked at his wife's covered body, he uncovered it and held her hand, which was no longer warm, it felt cold.

"you said we would stay together forever,"

Leo sat beside his wife emotionless, he looked at her without blinking soon he was asleep.

MORNING

"Where is she?" Leo said worried

"They took her to the morgue dear" his mom replied.

"you should see your babies Leo" Mrs min said with a sad smile plastered on her face

"come on dear, your should gather yourself together, you children need you" Mrs Duane said

"They need you" Mr Duane spoke with a rough voice

Leo stood up from the seat, and started walking towards the door, his steps were sloppy, he looked at the bed his wife had been sleeping on for the last time then opened the door.

He looked at his babies giggling, his heart melted at the cuteness of his babies.

Loki had left but she surely,didn't leave him alone, she had gifted him with two cute baby boys.

one of them looked exactly like her.leo named him Kookie after her wife's favourite snack

"kookie" he smiled for the first time after his wife's death
